Hello!!

This is a new wave of grads for those from #TTC1 - Those on the first grade thread are dealing with poonamis and crying babies, while we are still waving our FRER's and wondering if that line is really a figment of our imagination!

Feel free to join in, if you too are embarking on this crazy journey to parenthood!!

12 weeks today and heard our little bean's heartbeat with a Doppler this morning 😍 still no scan date in the post yet, think I'll be chasing it up on Monday if nothing comes by then.

What's everyone up to this weekend?

Mooseville · 28/01/2017 12:05

Just been to a Mum2Mum sale. It was really good. Bought a baby Bjorn bouncer chair with the wooden toy for £40 - looks in amazing condition - costs like £120 plus about £30 for the toy new!
Someone has already given us a bouncy chair so a wasted purchase really but I couldn't turn down the bargain!!! 😂
Other than that, I'm packing up more of the flat in the hope we will be moving next week!
Our anniversary tomorrow but think we're just going for brunch... nothing too fancy!

Love the mobile fxskip - did you make it for someone we or do you have it waiting for your nursery? I've seen something similar in a DIY tutorial. Excited to get to the time when I can give that stuff a go! Still too anxious to plan much at the moment before I've had my 12 week scan. Feel like I am getting ahead of myself constantly!

FXSkip · 29/01/2017 09:04

Good bargain moose! music it was a gift for a friend, luckily she'd decided to go with a cloud theme as I'd already made it. I think for my own I'd go a bit more colourful - this one is more a room accessory than a sensory stimulation iykwim, but there is plenty time - baby wouldn't even register it's there until they're a few weeks old!

marmitecheesetoast · 29/01/2017 12:16

Lovely mobile Skip!

Great bargain Moose! Baby Bjorn very nice! Bouncy chair is aomething still on our list! How did you find out about the sale? I've tried looking for NCT nearly new sales but the next one anywhere near us doesn't seem to be til May Hmm

Lovely that you got to hear the heartbeat MrsG yeah you should get your scan date sorted this week, getting on to them on Monday sounds like a good plan just to make sure!

Been busy on bridesmaid duties at hen do all weekend so feeling pretty knackered now! 5 hour journey home now too. Did feel particularly cruel that I ended up on prosecco opening and pouring duty for much of the weekend!! Had a lovely swim in the spa though even though couldn't use any of the other facilities.

Hope you enjoy your anniversary brunch Moose!

Hope everyone else is ok and had good weekends!

Mooseville · 29/01/2017 14:37

That was very impressive hen party duties marmite I have to say, during the girls weekend in Dubai last week, it was the bottles of Prosecco I missed most! Was green with envy when they polished off those!

One of my friends told me about the Mum2Mum sales, I just typed it into Facebook search and looked for a local one. Get there early though, we arrived at 10 on the dot for opening and there was a queue already! I imagine going to one in a posh area would be beneficial for good bargains!

We ended up going for Sunday lunch today rather than brunch as we felt too lazy to go into London as planned. It was very nice and I'm now recovering on the sofa!
My tummy seems to have grown overnight, DP just looked at me and said "wow it's really protruding!" LOL Errr thanks?

Ha ha Moose I'm the same after a big lunch today!

ns1348 · 29/01/2017 20:52

Hi everyone, just been back through and caught up as I’ve mostly been feeling too rough to contemplate posting in the last week or so.

Thanks so much for the response to my scan last weekend.

Miw, I’m so so sorry for your loss, how awful Flowers

MrsG thanks for mentioning your friend with the gluten intolerance that was useful, and congrats on the scan.

Dixie and Wanting congrats on your scans too.

Kav, sorry to hear about DH’s hidden spending, it must be galling when you think you knowwhat’s going on but don’t really. Pleased it sounds like you have good plans for getting back on track though. One other idea: have you heard of YNAB (You Need A Budget)? It is software you pay a small subscription for which records and categorises (according to your categories, of course!) all of your spending fairly automatically (I can now upload online Lloyds statements, it’s great, saves loads of hassle entering into spreadsheets!), and helps you to budget longer term (eg to save each month towards annual costs/emergencies so you know you have stuff covered). We now have a shared account, and have fairly equal individual spending categories we can each see within the budget. And of course we have a ‘baby’ saving category.

Skip, sorry to hear your DH’s insensitive comments, but pleased you’re feeling a bit better/learning to manage the sickness. Super cute mobile!

Mouse, sorry to hear about the dick on the tram, that must have been horrible, I remember feeling and being made to feel awkward about my (fairly invisible) ‘need’ for a seat before I used a wheelchair or crutches. Also, pleased your booking in went well and that mw is lovely, always good.

Moose, hooray for feeling more movements and thanks for the Mum2Mum sale tip: tentatively arranged to go to one here with my Mum in May, so that’s an exciting thing to look forward to. Really hope the move goes through for you this week too!

Marmite, sorry to hear about the prosecco duties, no fun and not the most considerate! My DH was making cocktails last night and I was pretty jealous, though generally he’s really really considerate about boozing less as I can’t, and he didn’t have much last night.

Music, like your milestone idea, that’s useful. Our next one is 4 hr appointment with neuro consultant-led ante-natal clinic on Fri morning, where we’ll hopefully get another scan. Counting down the days. Your 12 week scan must be soon now too? That’s exciting.

Hells hope your migraines have stayed away over the last few days and that you're doing ok.

Pleased to hear tales of beginning to feel better soonish from several of you: yesterday was an exception to my feeling rough, I was so pleased to both make it out of the house AND manage a board game: only been out otherwise for medical stuff really! Today I’ve been better than last week but not so good as yesterday. Vaguely crossing fingers the pain after eating at least might be easing/passing, as not had that today, touch wood (ended up in walk-in on Weds in agony and seeking pain-killers after eating tofu, so that’s now on list with gluten, and possibly oats!). So lucky my GP is understanding and happy to help however she can though, think it helps that she’s a woman who has young children, as I’ve read on the Sept thread that others are super unhelpful. If I ‘just’ have nausea and a bit of constipation now I’ll be happy, as think I am learning to manage those.

Sorry this has been such an essay, wanted to try and catch up with most of you and your weeks!

I really value this thread, thanks everyone!

MrsG280516 · 30/01/2017 14:16

Managed to get a call back from the hospital today, finally got my scan date. Next Wednesday at 11.40, I'll be 13+4 so hopefully we see a nice chunky baby on the screen!

FXSkip · 30/01/2017 16:57

Good news mrsg not long to wait! I'm counting down the days (20) until mine!

Sorry to hear you've been feeling rough ns - it's really shite isn't it! Hope you're managing ok and eating well now.

I managed one healthy day at the weekend, yesterday had to work all day not finishing until 7.30pm so crashed out early! Had a nice reflexology session on Friday night though so felt a bit better after that. Why won't this next three weeks hurry up!!!

Mooseville · 30/01/2017 17:29

Brill news mrsg About time!

Sorry you've been having a tough time ns I hope the pain has eased as you hoped.

Our move is on hold another week but hopefully it'll go ahead on the 7th... so tired of living in piles of boxes!

MouseLove · 31/01/2017 08:33

Oh skip that mobile!!!!! 😍

MrsG so happy you got your scan!! Exciting! And you got to hear babies heartbeat, soooo cute!!

Moose bargains galore! Happy belated anniversary too. Hope the move goes smoothly. Again, don't envy you one little bit. I'm never ever ever moving again.

Music do you have a date for your scan yet?

Marmite you trooper!! Hen weekend. Blurhhh lol

Ns sorry you're feeling rubbish, you're welcome to pass some symptoms to me, still nada over here. 😕

Well I'm 9+1 today. Although I think I'm only 7 weeks gestation. I have no idea how that will work for my 12 week scan. So technically is baby only 10 weeks when you scan?? I have another scan on Saturday.

Feeling ok since I had my booking on Friday. Still no symptoms, well no "normal ones" a few mild headaches, feeling bloated and DH is convinced my boobs are bigger... think he's wishing. I just look fatter.

Musicgrrl · 31/01/2017 09:06

Argh mouse and ns - scan is this morning. I am so anxious!! Will keep you all updated and post more later xx

MrsG280516 · 31/01/2017 10:16

Exciting Music!! Can't wait to hear about it.

Mouse if they book you in based on your LMP and the baby is too small to measure for NT screening (if you're having it) then they will have you back for another scan when they will be big enough. It has happened to a few people on my August babies Facebook group but have been told its perfectly normal as long as the bub still has a little heartbeat.

Musicgrrl · 31/01/2017 10:53

Scan went well! Smile We saw baby moving around and kicking and they have set my due date to 14 Aug which is a few days sooner than I thought by my ovulation dates. Makes me 12+1 today. My DH was really surprised at how much it already moves! Got to go back this afternoon for blood test for screening but the nuchal measurement they took was apparently well within the normal range. We haven't told parents yet so will do that when we see this this week!

MrsG280516 · 31/01/2017 11:24

Great news Music, how have you managed to get away with not telling your parents for so long? Mine suspected something was up straight away, especially over Christmas!

My due date is 12th August (might change next week) we're so close! Are you on our August FB group?

MouseLove · 31/01/2017 13:05

Oh yay music!!!! That's great news. I can't imagine baby moving loads! That must have been amazing.

12+1 now and you haven't told anyone??? Omg. You have such awesome restraint. Although I'm not sure when we would have told parents if we had have had our hiccup.

So who's left to have their 12 week scan date now? I feel like it's just me! I have no idea when it will be. 🤓 (let's pretend I don't have a scan this weekend, slightly bricking it)

Dixiechick1991 · 31/01/2017 18:51

Hello everyone

Congrats on all the lovely scans & enjoying pregnancy
mouse I'm now waiting on my 12 week scan letter, as my Drs dates would make me 10+4 but my early private scan measurements put me at 8+5
So don't know what will happen there, I'm assuming I just wait for my date and they'll scan there and if little bean is all okay but too small then they'll rearrange for a couple of weeks later.

I'm in a pickle, 2 people at work have asked if I'm pregnant because I look so tired, eek! I just said "oh it's these dark morning and dark nights I think everyone here must. W pregnant Confused"

Seahawk80 · 31/01/2017 19:25

Congrats on the scan music it's amazing seeing them isn't it?

Have my 20 week scan in 2 weeks, already counting down the days!
