Hello!!

This is a new wave of grads for those from #TTC1 - Those on the first grade thread are dealing with poonamis and crying babies, while we are still waving our FRER's and wondering if that line is really a figment of our imagination!

Feel free to join in, if you too are embarking on this crazy journey to parenthood!!

Argh Marmite sounds like you're having a right old time of it, hope things will be on the up soon. Not what you want to be dealing with when you've got a baby on the way soon. Hospital bag stuff is so exciting though!

Sorry about your house move Moose I would be so frustrated if someone was messing me about like that.

Mouse I would change the LMP dates on your apps, then you can measure the real size of the baby if you know its a few weeks behind. Also when you have your 12 week scan they will definitely change your due date if there's a big difference between the LMP date and the baby's size.

Good luck today at your scan Wanting let us know how it goes!

Hugs Miw Flowers

WantingBaby1 · 25/01/2017 09:27

Hi ladies. 12 week scan today. Thinking calm thoughts Confused

Seahawk80 · 25/01/2017 10:23

Good luck wanting I'm sure it will all be good

MouseLove · 25/01/2017 11:50

MrsG I will do. I'm just really confused by it all as I know I had a tiny window for conception as we didn't really DTD much that cycle.

Wanting, please let us see the pics!!!!! 👍

I can't wait for my next scan. Urgh.

HellsBellsK · 25/01/2017 12:14

Thanks for all the tips ladies, last few days haven't been good. Just had a constant migraine since Friday, woke up again this morning with it was sick a couple of times and it has now seemed to of cleared away that god.
Really worried about taking paracetamol every day but only took two and one day four so hopefully it did no harm only 9w at the moment.

Wanting good luck with your scan - everything will be great.
marmite hope you are feeling better, that is exciting packing your hospital bag!

Musicgrrl · 25/01/2017 12:30

Hi all

Lots to catch up on!

Firstly, miw, I'm so so sorry to hear your news. I'm not sure if you're still reading but if you are then please know that you are in our thoughts and I hope you and your DP are finding your way through this and are taking all the space and time you need to heal.

wanting FX for your scan. I can imagine the nerves but it's so likely at this stage that everything will be fine so keep with the PMA! Let us know how it goes.

mouse I agree with mrs about changing your dates on your app. I did that straight away as I knew that based on my LMP I should be a week further on that I was because I ovulated late in my cycle. I didn't want to get too ahead of myself and then have to go back through those weeks again. Think of it this way - if baby does some catching up you can then skip ahead again which would be great!

marmite infection sounds horrible, hope you are doing okay. Glad you are starting to feel a bit better now. The builder situation is so annoying. I haven't had quite the same experience but have been messed around a bit in the past by some and it is so frustrating! They seem to be able to pick and choose their jobs because they are in such high demand. Hope you can get an alternative sorted quickly. Hadn't thought about new clothes for labour - I guess it's not something you're likely to want to wear again! Haha. How exciting! Btw, what is nipple cream...?

FXskip how are you doing that?? I am limiting myself to one social event a week during the working week. My commute into London is wiping me out enough as it is! The upside of my awful interview is that I didn't get the promotion and so there shouldn't be a step up in the stress levels of my job. At least I'm trying to see it as an upside!

fishy what week are you at now?

More to follow later...

Seahawk80 · 25/01/2017 12:44

skip I felt awful until week 10, tired, sick -
was hardly ever sick but it was always there in the background and nothing tasted the same. It all went at week 10 and then I worri d that something was wrong! Now at week 17 and feel great! I work in sales and am caning it at work! Hope the same happens for you!

Seahawk80 · 25/01/2017 12:45

Lots of! In that post sorry. Guess it's my way of conveying all the extra energy I have Smile am making the most of it while it lasts.

WantingBaby1 · 25/01/2017 15:50

Had my 12 week scan. All looks perfect. Can't tell you how relieved I am! We saw and heard a strong heartbeat and little babe was waving away and kicking legs! Also got my test results back and it's low risk of downs etc, 1 / 15786, so hugely relieved.

Thinking of you all going through difficult times and worrying about scans and test results Flowers

hells I suffer with migraines too and was worried about taking paracetamol until my go told me it doesn't get into the blood stream which is why it's safe, and reassured me I could take a full max dose so long as it wasn't more than 2 tablet every 4 hrs for more than a day.

HellsBellsK · 25/01/2017 16:13

Ahh thats great Wanting say you are on cloud 9 now, also great getting the test results back!

3 weeks till my 12 week scan, counting down the days.

That has also put my mind at ease - They are just so painful its so hard to get though the day. Its cleared up now so hopefully thats it Smile

Musicgrrl · 25/01/2017 17:17

Yay wanting! Can you share a scan pic? What fantastic news Smile

MouseLove · 25/01/2017 18:34

Awesome news wanting!!!! I really can't wait for that moment. I hope you're all relaxed and euphoric right now. Beautiful feeling. 😘

I changed all my apps. Now they all say baby is much more realistic size. I think I'll still be confused about it all until baby is in my arms. Lol

Mooseville · 25/01/2017 19:11

Great news wanting Brilliant test results too!!!

Stressful day today trying to sort out our house purchase. Solicitors are RUBBISH!!!!

I've been feeling a lot more movements though which is nice. Didn't expect many as I've anterior placenta, but the little thumps and twitches are getting more regular! It's a little off putting during meetings! DP hasn't felt them yet, as soon as you put your hand on my stomach they seem to stop completely!! Playing up already!!!

LovelyFishy · 25/01/2017 20:25

FxSkip it might just be me with the super sleepiness. I work shifts as well which really doesn't help at the moment!

Marmite hospital bag shopping, how exciting!! Grin

Music I'm 24 weeks on Friday. Starting to look at nursery decoration and thinking of themes! Shock

Wanting so glad your scan went well, it's such a special feeling!

Moose solicitors do suck, I often wonder how it can be such a lofty occupation with the kind of people who seem to be in it! My DH felt a first proper kick last night which was quite cool!

Starmist · 25/01/2017 20:44

Sorry I've not been on much ladies, been so tired & the sickness has really taken over.

Miw I'm so sorry to hear your sad news Flowers thinking of you xx

Mouse & Wanting I'm glad all was ok with your scans.

Marmite sorry to hear you've been in hospital, hope you're feeling better soon.

Sorry to all those I've missed. Hope you're all ok.

FXSkip · 26/01/2017 08:14

Awesome to hear that seahawk! I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and I'm either getting used to the sicky feeling, or it's getting more manageable, just comes in waves now. Last night my DH (not so D right now) said I already looked way too pregnant given that the baby is the size of a grape, and maybe I needed to lay off the chips. I deathstared him pretty hard, but it hurt. I know he's right, I just can't seem to control myself around food and I'm seriously concerned about the amount of weight I'm putting on already.

Seahawk80 · 26/01/2017 08:29

I hope he's in a lot of trouble skip don't worry though. I went from being super low carb as was on metformin while TTC (carbs and rich food made me very gassy and unwell) to eating nothing but bread, pasta, pizza, crisps, chocolate and potatoes with the odd bit of fruit forced down for about 6 weeks! Now I'm fine again and apart from being a bit off fish and curry my diet is back to normal and pretty decent.

marmitecheesetoast · 26/01/2017 09:55

Oh Skip I'd be fuming too!! It's really common to be really bloated in early pregnancy as there's so much going on, it's not really about the size of the baby at this point - tell him that! Also I am usually a really healthy low carb eater and the only way I got through first trimester was by carb-loading to deal with the sickness and exhaustion at work. As seahawk said once I got ink second trimester my diet went pretty much back to normal (including being able to stomach cups of tea again, yay!)

Great news on the scan Wanting

Eek Fishy can't believe you're 24 weeks now, that's gone fast! We've ordered nursery furniture now! Need to think about a theme and colours! Thinking of getting wall stickers maybe safari animals or maybe stars. What about you?

Isn't it so lovely when you start feeling lots more definite movements Moose. Your DP will catch one soon, my DH got really frustrated trying to feel one for about 2 weeks then all of a sudden he could feel (and see!) then all the time!

Baby's movements have changed the last day or two for me - less big kicks and lots more sort of firm 'pushing' sensations where you can see something hard sticking out really clearly!! 🙈 It's kinda fascinating/kinda creepy ha ha! Apparently that's normal for around this time as they start to have less space to fling themselves around in! Can't decide if it's a bum or a knee that they keep poking out this morning?! 😂

MouseLove · 26/01/2017 18:13

Urgh. Had an absolute shit day.

Doctors cancelled my bloods appointment (to check thyroid meds are working) which meant I went in work late rather than working from home.

Trams were running late which meant I had to stand in the cold for ages.

Work load was just the same as usual. Which meant I worked through my lunch.

I'm working from home tomorrow but I have my midwife appointment so I'm out for a few hours. So again, manage workload.

Then got the tram home and some arsehole told me to stand up because an older man was stood, he was probably in his 60's and as much as I wanted to stand. I can't. Yet the guy asked me and only me to stand. There were 3 young guys sat in the other accessible seats. It's not even a pregnancy thing that I can't stand. The problems with my hips make it excruciating after 10 mins. My journey is 25 mins. I moved seats and resisted the urge to cry. 😢

I'm going to pick up my bounty freebie pack to cheer me up. Nothing says smile like free shit. I hope everyone had a better Thursday!!

marmitecheesetoast · 26/01/2017 18:32

Sorry you had a crappy day Mouse Flowers sounds like you live in Manchester area too judging by trams and this morning's delays! I still end up standing on the way to work half the time despite massive all out in front bump. People in the accessible seats blatantly clock it then stare back at their phones and don't look up again Hmm I did have a guy stood next to me turf another guy out a priority seat for me the other day though I was kinda embarrassed but relieved!

Starmist · 26/01/2017 19:50

FXSkip men don't think sometimes do they geez! Hope he's made it up to you. I'm 9 weeks too & have got a proper belly already, I'm surprised how quickly I started to show.

Marmite ah we want wall stickers for the nursery, love the idea of safari animals. It must be strange but lovely & amazing to feel & see baby move, I can't wait for that.

I'm sorry you had a rubbish day Mouse, how rude of the person on the tram. Hope tomorrow is better for you.

Seahawk80 · 26/01/2017 21:25

Sorry for a crappy day mouse that is so rude. You should have said ask someone else, I'm entitled to sit here. It's hard though, I felt awful on the train home today, have a horrible cold and work was rubbish, a nice lady said really loudly, did you want to sit down which meant people had to look up from their phones!

marmite we're doing a jungle / safari nursery theme. Haven't done much yet but John Lewis have some lovely wall stickers.

LovelyFishy · 26/01/2017 21:52

Star hope you feel better with the tiredness and sickness soon. It does get better!

FxSkip I'd say eat him in retribution for that comment!

Marmite we're thinking lilac with bunny stickers or boarder. I love the sound of safari animals! I can imagine less pointy kicks being a good thing, I can already start to tell how distracting some of them can be.

Mouse sorry to hear about your poo day. Freebies all the way and hopefully something special for tea to cheer you up?

Mooseville · 27/01/2017 17:34

Hi everyone!!!! Yippie it's the weekend!

Mouse hope your day got better yesterday.

Nothing much more to report pregnancy wise, everything seems to be going as it should! I'm finding it a lot easier now I feel some movement to relax and enjoy it. I found the 16-20 week period quite stressful as others on the June thread were feeling movement and I wasn't. At least now when you start feeling anxious within an hour there's a little kick to let you know everything's ok!

Off to a Mum2Mum baby sale tomorrow morning to see if I can find any bargains!

Has anyone seen anywhere with any nice unique mobiles? I'm thinking a grey and white cloud theme to the nursery with some rainbow accessories to brighten it up and have been googling mobiles but not found one yet that takes my fancy!

Bought this blanket in Next yesterday as I fancy a grey pram I thought it would brighten it up.... m.next.co.uk/go51158s4#959117

There's some gorgeous baby clothes in there this season - bought some great monochrome neutral ones. There's some great girls ones with dinosaurs on which were really cute but since we're staying team surprise I stopped myself!

MouseLove · 27/01/2017 18:25

Thanks ladies. My day got a lot better when I got home. Didn't get my freebies as I freaked myself out convinced I'd jinx everything. (Urgh)

I had my booking today and the midwife was absolutely lovely. Now I just need a nice folder for my notes lol (sorry stationery lover here) and she took 10 tubes of blood. TEN. All my regular bloods plus a few for the doctor for my thyroid. My BP was ninja at 103/65 but I'm considered high risk for the time being. 😕

Other than that. All good. X
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
