Hello!!

This is a new wave of grads for those from #TTC1 - Those on the first grade thread are dealing with poonamis and crying babies, while we are still waving our FRER's and wondering if that line is really a figment of our imagination!

Feel free to join in, if you too are embarking on this crazy journey to parenthood!!

Last night I had two ten-fifteen min episodes of excruciating cramps (cried the first time, vommed the second, preparation for labour?!) so ended up in A & E when second wave hit. No bleeding fortunately, and doc said not a trace of blood in urine, and that it doesn't seem ectopic, and was fairly upbeat, but am pretty worried now. They've booked me in for a scan tomorrow morning at 10.20, so that's two of us tomorrow now Mouse.

I'll only be 6 + 4, so bit worried it's too early to know definitively there's a lot problem if no heartbeat, so just praying that there is one and nothing else obvious wrong so we don't have to wait another week to know for sure.

Ha ha kav, to be honest our only time dtd since I got upduffed was a bit cautious, though still enjoyable, but think we were both being too careful to get so carried away. Still both enjoyed it though. Think it'll get easier as we adjust to the whole idea of dtd with little bean, assuming all is well that is.

skip, I was planning on taking 1 month before off and 5 months after, but think that might need revising. In fact think I might need to start a leave of absence soon, but hopefully go back for second trimester, and some of third. What is everyone else planning on taking?

Marmite, congrats on entering third trimester, and hopefully bump growth might slow a little as you go on? I'm sure these things can even out!

ns1348 · 20/01/2017 14:36

*know definitely there's a problem if no heartbeat, even!

MrsG280516 · 20/01/2017 16:39

Sorry about the pains ns I'll have my fingers crossed for you too tomorrow.

Just had my booking appointment and the midwives were lovely. Treated myself to a happy meal afterwards for having bloods done Grin looking forward to getting 12 week and 20 week scan dates soon in the post.

Musicgrrl · 20/01/2017 17:21

Will be thinking of you tomorrow ns and mouse. Hopefully everything is fine and the doctors are just being extra cautious.

ns those cramps sounded painful - understand you going to A&E. Glad there hasn't been any bleeding.

marmite I have had thrush on and off the whole time too. Have you tried treating it with anything? Also, I guess big baby is better than little baby?! Hopefully baby will get itself a bit further down into the normal scale with time!

kav we have not dtd much since getting upduffed due to thrush and me being paranoid but now I'm intrigued! Will have to investigate this weekend Wink

miwelaisjacydo · 20/01/2017 17:34

Hope all goes well tomorrow mouse an ns.

DH Being very sweet but driving me crackers. I am not allowed to do anything including wriggling too much in bed, scrubbing pots and pans hoovering.

I get why as sadly his DM passed away in childbirth. He is just a bit anxious!!

FXSkip · 20/01/2017 17:57

Oh ns that sounds rough - I will have my fingers crossed for you too tomorrow.

I am planning to take 2 weeks before EDD and a year after, possibly 13 months if I can get away with it. In an ideal world I'll be pregnant again by the time I'm back in the office but we all know what bodies think of plans like that!!

FXSkip · 20/01/2017 17:58

Sorry miw I meant to respond to your message too! How awful that his mother passed away - can you talk to him about the anxiety? You can't go 9 months like that surely! Or do you think he'll relax after 12wk scan?

MouseLove · 20/01/2017 18:17

Oh ns hunny. Hopefully everything will be ok, please come update us if you feel up to it tomorrow. Fx for us both.

I've had a weird day in work. Very tired. My left side is still lightly cramping and very weirdly, my left boob started to hurt!!! Felt really bad lying to my bosses too. They've been fantastic with my medical appointments. I just hope they understand when I tell them the news but it might be a little earlier than planned.

Having a Nando's for tea to cheer us up. Happy Friday people. X

miwelaisjacydo · 20/01/2017 18:42

Skip- I will chat to him. As lovely as he is being tidying and sorting things it's not practical to carry on like this.

Seahawk80 · 20/01/2017 21:05

Good luck for tomorrow ns and mouse I'll be thinking of you.

miw that is so sad. I hope that he manages to relax and get excited with you

marmitecheesetoast · 21/01/2017 09:12

Oh NS you poor love, that sounds really horrible and scary having to go to A&E. Hope you're not feeling too nervous this morning and the scan goes well.

Thinking of you for your scan today too Mouse

Miw that's so sad, it must be very difficult for him. We have nothing like that in our past and my DH is being rather overprotective so I can only imagine how it must be. Tbh I found it frustrating it first but quite pleased for it now as I;m getting more knackered, I don't complain when he tells me to sit down and he'll do the hoovering/cook the tea etc (although does he always have to leave the kitchen in such a bombsite?! Wink ) Sounds like a good chat is needed and lots of ongoing communication as it could be difficult/emotional for him as the pregnancy progresses. The midwives may be able to provide some support too?

Music yup I've been treating it with canestan (can get on doc's prescription when pregnant) and natural yoghurt administered to the site too! You are a lot more susceptible to thrush in pregnancy anyway so already had it on and off in the earlier weeks then to top it off I am currently on my THIRD round of antibiotics for a skin infection which won't clear up Sad so that is clearly playing havoc with my system. And generally making me feel a bit fed up to be honest. My immune system seems to be totally whacked and not fighting the infection.

I'm finishing 3 weeks before EDD but using up to leave to start doing 4 day weeks and then 3 day weeks for the last 3 days. Planning to take 12 months overall.

Off to nephew's birthday party today then going to go and have a look at nursery furniture plus pick up some paint samples for our various re-decorating!

MouseLove · 21/01/2017 12:18

Back home. Took ages despite being in first at 8am this morning.

We saw baby's heartbeat ❤️ and everything looks good. Measuring a little smaller at 5ish weeks but baby is so small at this stage they said not to worry. I have a little cyst but nothing to worry about. Sack looks perfect shape and measured 10mm. Baby is 2mm. I go back in 2 weeks for another scan but they said it was more so just to tick a box, doctor was happy for me to wait for my 12 weeks scan now.

So, I emptied my bladder just as they called my name. I have seriously bad timing but I couldn't hold it any longer as I'd been sat for almost 2 hours by the time I was scanned. So I ended up having an internal scan too. That's when we saw baby and the flickering on screen. We're both so happy and relieved. Obviously hoping baby is growing well the next few weeks with me being on medication now too.

Thank you for all the well wishes and lovely words of encouragement. Means a lot!! X

FXSkip · 21/01/2017 12:56

Great news mouse yaaayayaayay!!!! You're definitely definitely pregnant now!! Xx

MrsG280516 · 21/01/2017 13:16

That's amazing Mouse it's crazy that they can see anything at only 2mm and to see a heartbeat too! Science is so wonderful.

WantingBaby1 · 21/01/2017 13:31

Congratulations mouse!

Thinking of you ns

This thread moves so fast! Haven't caught up yet but will do over the weekend.

I've got my 12 week scan on Wednesday. I'm 11 + 5 today and have officially "popped" lol. My tummy feels like a proper little bump now. A small one but a firm bump nevertheless! Going to tell work after the scan. DH got really excited about the "bump" and told a few people over the last couple of days. Fx this baby is a sticky bean. Can't imagine what I'd do if it wasn't. Still slightly concerned about the possibility of a mmc without my having known. But I think everyone feels nervous in the first trimester, right?

ns1348 · 21/01/2017 13:40

Yay Mouse, congrats, that's great! Sod's law they took you in just after you'd peed! Really pleased for you after your worry. And yes science is amazing Mrs G, isn't it!

Our scan went well too thankfully! Baby is in right place, and we saw a heart beat too, which I thought was amazing at 5mm, but even more so for you Mouse. Think size-wise we're a day or two behind expected, but all good. DH nearly cried!

Thanks for all your understanding and kind words to me, really appreciate it.

I realised yesterday that since getting pregnant I've become quite badly wheat or gluten intolerant (pretty bad stomach pains and needing loo 10 mins after eating muffin yesterday was give away!), so that's a bit of a pain, but hopefully now I've realised that'll help lessen some of the other crappy symptoms. Wondering whether or not it could have been responsible for the awful pain... has anyone else encountered allergies/intolerances during pregnancy? Know I have a super-sensitive stomach anyway. Hoping I might get away without taking time off yet now I know this.

In terms of thrush, I used to have thrush pretty much half of the time, and the only thing that's worked for me is probiotics. So when we started TTC I started taking a highish dose every day, and have continued and barring one small hiccup have had no symptoms, so I highly recommend trying it to those of you suffering if you haven't yet.

Marmite, sorry to hear about skin infection on top of thrush Sad and your plan with leave sounds good!

MouseLove · 21/01/2017 14:15

Awwww ns that's brilliant news!!! And fantastic size too!! I have a feeling they might go off sack size for baby at this stage so you must have a nice juicy sack. 😎🙊

Heartbeat. Wow. That little flickering. I was in tears. ❤️😘

miwelaisjacydo · 21/01/2017 15:25

Thanks for all the lovely messages. I am hoping after twelve weeks scan that he will relax a bit. He is excited! Just needs to know that what happened to his mum was terrible but unkley to happen again.

Ns and mouse am soooo glad your scans went well been thinking about you!

Seahawk80 · 21/01/2017 16:13

So glad it was all ok mouse and ns it's such a nervous time isn't it. I don't think I relaxed until last week!

FXSkip · 21/01/2017 19:06

ns that's great! So happy you both had good scans, such a relief. I wouldn't say I've become intolerant to anything specific, but if I don't eat something every couple of hours I get awful bloating and gas, and I've been reacting badly to any cheese that isn't bland cheddar - both feta and goats cheese have given me gippy tummy so far. I'm so done with these symptoms to be honest, i just want to feel like me again!!

MrsG280516 · 21/01/2017 21:09

ns my best friend became gluten intolerant when she was pregnant with her first, it stuck after she had him too. Then she got pregnant with her second and it seemed to have less of an effect and she could tolerate it more again. Strange bodies!

miwelaisjacydo · 22/01/2017 06:51

Morning all.
Been awake since before 6 feeling sick. I am so gassy at the moment. Also OMG I can smell better than a bloody dog I recon! Keep saying to DH can you smell that? Can you smell this? He is like no. Always horrible smells like poo.

Dixiechick1991 · 22/01/2017 14:52

Hello. WEnt for another reassurance scan today after being told last week that I was only 5-6 weeks, I'm now 7+3 with baby measuring 11.5mm and a tilted uterus.
Got to see a tiny little blob with a heartbeat & new due date of 7th September

I've gone from 25th August to 15th September to 7th September.

#TTC1 - Second Wave grads thread!
MouseLove · 22/01/2017 19:21

Awesome Dixie. I replied on the sept thread but forgot to ask. How does the dating marry up with your LMP weeks? Trying to figure out if my 5-6 week bubs is actually small for 7+5 LMP weeks. Not really worried as dr said everything was perfect. More so curious.

Dixiechick1991 · 22/01/2017 20:22

mouse my last LMP started 18th November so I'm not 100% clued up on how it works but I know from LMP dates i would have been 9+2 today so about 2 weeks behind.
I don't know how it all works but even my straight faced DH was amazed when she said 11.6mm today compared to 3.6mm just a week ago. I don't know whether that's a bit jump or not but I know in early scans they seem different scanners could get different measurements because it's so so small
Got my booking in appointment on Thursday and just going to go with my old dates of 9 weeks and wait and see for the NHS scan x
