Hello!!

This is a new wave of grads for those from #TTC1 - Those on the first grade thread are dealing with poonamis and crying babies, while we are still waving our FRER's and wondering if that line is really a figment of our imagination!

Feel free to join in, if you too are embarking on this crazy journey to parenthood!!

Starmist hope you are okay you must of got a terrible shock!

Ns would you walk around with a drink in your hand? Thats what I did over Christmas, Had red wine in my hand - I then had a gin and tonic minus the gin.
No one batted an eye lid and I am also a terrible liar!

I'm just feeling hung over all the time now. Had toast today and thats it big turn around from the first 4/5 weeks as I was so hungry all the time and just couldn't fill up!

WantingBaby1 · 06/01/2017 14:56

Afternoon ladies. Thank god its Friday!

Sorry to hear of your accident star.

Loving the fur babies!

Had my midwife booking apt today and she's put me forward to 9+4 as per date of last period rather than the 9+2 the early scan said. Either way, on track.

Was awkward getting time off work but hopefully no one twigged. So awkward coming back into work with a huge bag full of stuff and all my notes etc but hopefully I concealed it!

FXSkip · 06/01/2017 14:59

Ns I also have cramping and some of it is on one side. I'm telling myself this is the empty follicle so i don't convince myself it's an ectopic. Hungover is an apt description, like I'm hungry all the time but eating makes me feel unwell. And I want to sleep ALL the time.
On the drink front when I had friends round I sneakily drank either prosecco watered down with lemonade and appletiser, so I could accept the odd top up, or I said to people I was unbelievably hungover so I couldn't eat pate/cheese/stuff that made me retch. Or could you say your doctor has asked you to stop drinking (i use this one sometimes, I say my acupuncturist has asked me not to drink as it messes with my pulse - which is true I just would usually ignore her!!)

FXSkip · 06/01/2017 15:00

Great news wanting*!

marmitecheesetoast · 06/01/2017 15:21

'Gin and tonic' minus the gin worked well for me too! Also walked around at friend's wedding early on (feeling terrible) with a glass of prosecco in hand so I didn't have to accept other drinks and DH just took random sips of it for me. The other one I used was that you think you're getting a UTI/just getting over a UTI? People never question not drinking with a UTI.

Awh I'm so glad I don't have to keep it a secret anymore, it's fun for a while but such a relief when it's all out in the open!

You're welcome NS although I'm sure you'll get all that info at booking in/MW appt.
Flu jab first (I was told after 12 weeks but know others who were just told to have it as soon as) - although i guess it's coming to end of flu season soon-ish?
Then whooping cough between 20 and 32 weeks (this is actually for baby not you! Gives them immunity when they're born)

On countdown to the weekend now! Although really should try and focus and finish this report...Hmm

Mooseville · 06/01/2017 16:28

ns I will be renovating whilst pregnant giving birth if we EVER manage to move into our new house! Offer was accepted in July and it's still dragging on! (We also had some help from our parents to enable us to buy!) I think it's going to be hell but worth it in the end.

In a grump here, off to Dubai for long girls weekend next week and all my clothes I've ordered look horrendous! I'm 20 weeks but look 40 and I'm overweight anyway so the additional stone I've gained has just made me ginormous!!! Uuurgh

marmitecheesetoast · 06/01/2017 17:21

Meant to say NS we are also in the midst of doing a load of work on our house... nothing like getting that BFP to make you realise your house is totally unsuitable for a baby! It has been stressful so far as it's like an added layer of being overwhelmed, but we will be adding lots of extra storage space and converting cellar into a spare guest room as currently only 2 bed house upstairs so current spare room will become nursery. New Ikea kitchen is finally all in now though, which I love!! Builder starting later this month, he's building us a porch (terraced street, no off road parking and a very narrow Victorian terrace hallway = where will I put the pram?!?! Haha) and a few other bits. I'd say go for it if you think you can and it'll be worth it?

Moose I rememwber when your
Offer got accepted, can't believe that's still dragging on! Fx things get moving soon. Dubai girls weekend sounds lovely but I know how you feel about having nothing nice to wear... I've a hen do later this month and have absolutely nothing that makes me feel nice. Can you try adding a few accessories to jazz things up/detract from your tummy if you feel self conscious about it? I'm sure you look lovely though! I've found New Look the best for maternity stuff so far if that's any help

So glad it's the weekend! Off home to do one of my pregnancy fitness dvds so I can feel virtuous before slumping on the sofa Wink and eating leftover Christmas chocolate

Anyone got any nice plans for the weekend? We're going round to a friends for dinner tomorrow but other than that just pottering at home, need to get started on Operation Major Clear Out!

Starmist · 07/01/2017 10:21

Mrs how much was your early scan? I will look into one.

Marmite no bump didn't hit the steering wheel. Glad to hear you were ok after your fall, that must have been worrying. I felt fine on day of the accident but as yesterday progressed I got stiffer. I'm pretty sure I have whiplash of some degree. I have legal cover with my insurance so they are pursuing a claim & sorting a chiropractor assessment. In the meantime just trying to keep moving & stretching.

NS that's nice of your parents to offer to help with renovating.
I think dull pains / cramps are common, everything is growing & adjusting ready for baby getting bigger.
I'm rubbish at lying too. Can't you say you over indulged over Christmas & so are going to have a dry & healthy January.

It looks like the morning sickness has started. I feel hungover - that's such a perfect way to describe it. Dry mouth, sick feeling, I'm very tired too. I take this as a good sign though, especially as it's after the car accident so presume those hormones are rising.

Hope everyone is ok xx

kavanaughkj · 08/01/2017 00:14

Just been busy today clearing the house a bit Marmite, we have boxes and bags everywhere after the move. Bathroom is now bag-free. Grin I do have to do some work over the weekend though and right now really can't face it - feeling very sicky today all the time and had to snooze part way through the day, so I can sympathise with how you're feeling Star!

Acupuncture tomorrow and I'm thinking about looking for some maternity clothes. Nothing is fitting comfortably at the moment and I can't stand any pressure on my tummy.

Hope everybody's having a good weekend!

Mooseville · 08/01/2017 08:25

Morning everyone!

A lazy weekend here - doing nothing much although I've started packing away the kitchen ready for moving - it had better be soon!!! Going to whack a lamb casserole in the slow cooker so I'm even being lazy over making lunch!
After basically sleeping like a log getting 11hrs a night all pregnancy, all of a sudden I can't get comfortable and my vivid dreams wake me up ALL the time!
Sorry for all those with the hungover feelings - I remember it well. Luckily for me that was as bad as it got and I didn't progress to actual sickness. Will keep fingers crossed it stays mild for you all too!

How are you feeling today star? I had an early scan at the Fetal Medicine centre in London. It was £100 and worth every penny, I had it at 7 + 3. Was basically a blob and a heartbeat but put my mind at ease.

HellsBellsK · 08/01/2017 09:54

Morning Ladies,

Moose hope you get into the new house soon. We have only started house hunting so thats all ahead of us!

Star how are you feeling this morning?

Need to pop into town today but thats about it.
Back to work tomorrow so that will be a shock to the system.

Had a bit of brown spotting yesterday just when i wiped and another small bit this morning. No cramps really just twinges. Trying not to worry but its really hard not to.

Starmist · 08/01/2017 11:45

Thanks for asking after me ladies. I have that hungover feeling again today. It was much worse after I had a shower so I wonder if it was too hot or something. Really need to do some housework so hope I'm feeling a bit better this afternoon so I can get something done.

Hells it's so hard not to worry about things. Some spotting is normal so I'm sure everything is fine. Try to relax, although I know that's easier said than done. Maybe try to read or watch telly, just do something to take your mind off it xx

Musicgrrl · 08/01/2017 18:35

Hells sorry to hear about the spotting. As others have said I have seen loads about how lots of women have it and it's fine but I completely understand how it adds another element of stress that you don't want in these early weeks! Is it still going on or stopped for now?

Star I would totally recommend an early scan. It reassured me so much at the time although I have to say the anxiety does return quite quickly! (Or it has for me due to my symptoms being very bearable - no nausea or sickness).

Those of you packing and unpacking I don't envy you! New house stuff is very exciting though Smile

I have been quite tired this weekend and had quite a few head rushes, bloating and burps. (Sorry for tmi!) That's pretty much it though. Wonder if this means I definitely won't get any morning sickness. Am 8+3 today.

Those of you further along - what happened with your bloating? Did it go down at any point or did it just transition into your bump?

Starmist · 08/01/2017 18:56

Music hopefully that means you can avoid the sickness then if you've made it this far. FX for you.

I've just eaten some cheesecake... I'm very confused as to whether we can eat it or not. We can eat cream cheese & ricotta so I figured it would be fine but after googling some sources say only baked cheesecake is ok. It's all so confusing Confused

HellsBellsK · 08/01/2017 19:07

Thanks Star & Music - We went into town for the afternoon. DH has banned me from googling as he said if I look for long enough someone will have a bad outcome and I forget about all the positive ones.
It was stopped now - Gone back to white/clear CM which I was getting a lot of.
We have a private scan booked for Saturday that will be €100 or we can wait till Wednesday week when the hospital will give us one so wont have to pay - so trying to decide what to do.

Music hopefully you won't get any!
Star I think its just the cheese cake that has raw egg in it that we shouldn't eat.

MouseLove · 08/01/2017 20:00

Hells it sounds really normal. Brown spotting paired with light twinges is probably baby getting really comfy. I think that €100 could be spent on baby for the sake of 4 days I'd personally wait for the freebie unless you are getting really upset in the meantime. Pregnancy is a horrible waiting game.

Moose oh good luck with the move. Get lots of help!!!!! I don't envy you one little bit. Lol

Kav we've been in our house 5 years this march and we still have boxes. Really should get that sorted now as they are all in the babies room!!!! 😳

Star anything that raises your core temp might make you feel crappy. Hope you felt better this evening. And I believe cheesecake is fine!!

Music I'm using you as my sickness idol. I haven't had anything yet and I hope to follow in your footsteps. I think you might be in the clear but let's touch wood lol

I'm soooo bloated. I'm not slim anyways but I look so fat!! I'm having to wear scarfs in work. Which I'd noticed someone else doing too. Turns out she's 16 weeks!!! Hardly has a belly. It's going to be impossible to hide my bloat.

I had a bit of a shit weekend really. I had bad cramps on Friday night, mid DTD session and right after a huge orgasm and then my clearblue digital was a dud on Saturday morning. Bought a new pack, got it home and noticed it was a digital and a plus pack. (Gahhhhh) and so did the digital mid afternoon and got 2-3 weeks again. Panicked and then ordered an Amazon now delivery with a 2 hr delivery window. I am just not thinking straight. I might as well be pissing on money. I'm not POAS anymore. Well maybe the last digital one I have next weekend.

Musicgrrl · 08/01/2017 20:06

mouse how far along are you? The digi week thing is SO inaccurate. Please don't let it stress you out. If you google you will see lots of people saying they didn't get 3+ weeks until they were around 6/7 weeks so don't expect it to tick over at 5 weeks exactly Smile

MouseLove · 08/01/2017 20:14

I'm 6 weeks tomorrow according to LMP. But of course lots of things could be altering that test. Understand that now but in the moment I got totally flustered. I haven't tested since last weekend and after my bad cramps on Friday I worried. Im seeing my gp next Saturday so I'll do the other digital one before the appointment. Thanks music. X

Musicgrrl · 08/01/2017 20:50

Sorry mouse didn't read your message properly about panicking and doing it in the afternoon. Definitely many reasons for it to be 2-3 weeks then Smile Sorry to hear about your cramps. If it makes you feel any better I have had all kinds of feelings in my tummy at one time or another it seems. Also, I shouldn't make it sound as though I am sensible and rational. In reality something different worries me every day and I spend far too long looking at Dr Google!!

Musicgrrl · 08/01/2017 20:52

Hells my DH also tries to stop me looking at google! I think they're right.

MouseLove · 08/01/2017 20:55

I think we should ban google ladies!! Lol
Yeah I took another digital this morning with FMU and it was still 2-3 but I think I'll probably be 3+ midweek. I don't think I'll bother testing till next weekend. Then if it's still 2-3 I'll ask for a hcg test at the docs. It feels sooo unreal I'm even at this point.

MrsG280516 · 08/01/2017 23:49

Just catching up on the thread, currently sat in a bar in New York with the hubby drinking Sprite, it's so rubbish not being able to enjoy a drink!

Can't remember who asked about bloating, I'm 9+1 today and it seems to have gone to my bump! I think just before I was 8 weeks it seemed to settle down a bit but now I have a bit of a proper bump going on most of the day after eating breakfast. We are eating a lot though!

Hope everyone else is doing good!

LovelyFishy · 08/01/2017 23:49

Urge, newest pregnancy symptom - raging heart burn. Sad

Mouse after my faint bfp on an IC I bought a digi but never used it, I was too afraid of going mental over what it said or didn't say! I found it best just to keep plodding along.

Hells I had spotting early on, of course internally fresked out, but it is so common.

Star I'd say eat the cheesecake and enjoy. Grin

Music I went straight from bloat to bump. Thought it was really obvious as I'm quite slim but I'm 21 weeks now and some people still seem surprised when I say I'm pregnant. Hmm

LovelyFishy · 08/01/2017 23:50

Enjoy New York MrsG! Grin

Musicgrrl · 09/01/2017 08:02

Have a great time mrs!

Has anyone else seen their appetite vary a lot? Up until this weekend (8 weeks) I had quite a suppressed appetite and not much of an interest in sweet foods. Then this weekend I seem to have wanted to eat everything I see and all the chocolate, cake etc.
