got in contact wit han old friend and may end up moving back up north since nothing keepng me here since xp does not want to try and work it out!

rosylonginglily · 16/02/2007 04:32

Bethoo, great to hear from you, we were all starting to think you had popped! don't you dare leave us for feb thread! Anyway I think you may have company...Leo and Fox are ready to drop any day now

I've been up since 2.30 with ds2. He's just been lying awake and keeps getting up for a 'hug'. Totally related to the dh tornado that came and went because he usually settles quickly nowadays. oops he's calling again....

foxabout2pop · 16/02/2007 06:36

sponge - my nights are miserable too - very restless with about 5 wees and lots of kicking from Monti! Got about 6 hours last night.

Bethoo poor you with your strep B Don't worry about the induction - I was induced with DD and it was easy peasy as I went for an epi as well so didn't feel a thing.

Kitty and other spd ladies - my spd is much worse now - does it hang around after the LO is born? Physio said it can take up to 5 months to go !!

Its all hotting up now isn't it with C/s/Induction dates being booked in and people getting pre- labour pains

I think Monti will arrive the week commencing 26 Feb (wouldn't lay bets though)

Did anyone see the prog on C4 last night about multiple births? It was very interesting...

Woke up feeling all sad about work - I really like my team and my boss and it feels as though they are having fun without me now

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 16/02/2007 06:46

Morning all,

Dh didn't get the job, the manager phoned him last night to tell him. Funny thing was, the lady who did get the job works at a council quite locally, where that particular manager has been spending an awful lot of time lately "finding out how they do things" etc. etc.

This new lady will be his boss so I think now he hasn't got the job he is hoping he can offload some of the more complex work onto her, as he's been unofficially "acting up" or whatever it is they call it.

But, I know it sounds odd but I feel like I have my old dh back! The last few weeks he has been so moody I have been walking around on eggshells; last night he was actually seen to smile for the first time in ages! (Bloody pisceans )

Bethoo lovely to see you again we were wondering where you were! Whereabouts up North are you thinking of moving?

Diva... you did once compare your fanjo with the blackwell tunnel, so maybe it is extra long?

Rosy I hope everything is okay with your dh's Mum.

I have to be the odd one out when it comes to pillows... just the usual two under my head, and then a wedge one under my bump!

Hello chocolatepenny!! And anyone else I've missed, hope you have a good day!

Foxy x posts

Are you going to go back to that work after your maternity leave?

OP posts:
Leoladyofleisure · 16/02/2007 07:09

hi everyone, just quick as I have to get up and dressed. The contractions seem to have really died down. Ho hum! Just got to be patient.... off for a hospital appointment this morning hence the rush.

Bethoo has posted on the old thread, I have told her there is a new one here but haven't done the link, looks as if she could use a big hug from everyone.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 16/02/2007 07:41

Well I feel a bit because I had a great night's sleep. Didn't wake up once or go for a wee either. Went from 11pm to 7am. I lie sort of on my back now but in a semi upright position. That way the spd is kept under control and lo doesn't complain and sleeps through as well. Ah well, it's only taken 6 pregs to work it out !!

Foxy I have found sleeping on my side makes spd really bad.Mostly the spd goes a few weeks after birth iirc.

Bethoo, great to hear from you. You must stay with us whenever lo is born. Sorry your ex is being so unsupportive. You must be excited that you've got a time frame to work towards though.

Rosy, you must be very tired, will you get a chance to rest today?

Morning Mossy, glad dh has cheered up, sorry he didn't get the job

Leo I'm sure it will all start up again soon. You babies must be very hahppy where they are, which is a great testimennt to you .

Heloo to chocolate penny

kiwibella · 16/02/2007 08:10

yeee gads... I will never be able to keep a straight face when I travel through the Blackwall Tunnel again. I have to go to Bluewater tomorrow too... maybe via Dartford !!!

I'm glad to hear that your dh is smiling Moss... it sounds like one of those "every cloud has a silver lining" kind of situations.

We had the telly on with the twins show last night Foxy... although we weren't watching it attentively, it was really interesting and we kept stopping what we were doing - fascinated. I had the camera while dh and dd were assembling our buggy. It's a bloody big bugger - but we're over the moon with it.

at your family requesting birthdates Laidback!!

Hope you get some news soon Rosy. It must be an awfully stressful time for your family. Mil's are great aren't they - they can get away with bossing everyone around (I have one like yours too )

Bethoo... hope you have a great weekend with your parents getting things ready for the baby. You will decide what is best for you when you are ready. It's great that you have a reconnected with a good friend and will have someone to lean on if you do decide to move.

Dd graciously gave up her comfy bed last night and I had a brilliant sleep - right through. Until 5:30ish when, after about ten minutes, I had to get up to scream at dh to turn off his alarm. I can't believe he slept through it. Been awake since but feeling fine, so far.

One day closer to d-day for everyone.

sazzybee · 16/02/2007 08:47

bethoo! nice to see you Gosh - a date for seeing your baby - how exciting!! Sorry things sound like they're a bit poo at the moment for you. Getting the pushchair is great though - I've been practicing putting mine up and down so that I look like I know what I'm doing when I go out with LO for the first time. I took my nephew out on his own when he was a toddler and the mean bus driver made me put the pushchair down and I didn't know how to do it. Thought everyone would think I'd stolen him!
Please stay in March - you've been missed.
Well I had a completely rubbish sleep again - I reckon Kitty is nicking some of what is rightfully mine LO was kicking me like a donkey and far from being in position, I'm pretty sure he's tranverse now - I can feel a lump of head on one side and a bum on the other
Moss - sorry to hear about the job but it sounds like your DH is relieved and it must be nice to have him back.
Foxy - I felt a bit sad last week but one week on, I don't really miss them anymore. My team are all threatening to come round for a visit when LO's here. I bet they miss you too

muppetisacat · 16/02/2007 09:08

Morning ladies!

Foxy - don't be sad about leaving your work... go and get some little babygros out and start some leisurely nesting behaviour!

I have assembled our moses basket on its rocker and placed it next to my side of the bed. It's amazing what dh and the children use it for - such a great dumping ground - I try to have fluffy moments visualizing the lo lying peacefully inside but the mood is killed by a pair of dirty boxer shorts or something

Bethoo - if your dp really has told you he has no intention of trying a reconciliation and you feel you have nothing else holding you there - it would be so much easier if you had family friends around... mind you I move just for the sake of moving as I get bored if I live in one place for more than 2 years. Must have some gypsy blood somewhere

Chocolatepenny - glad to see you back.

Rosie - love to your mil and your dh having to cope with it all. I didn't realise that no-one was actually sure what the matter was... how worrying for you all.

Mossy - sounds like your dh is better off without this job doesn't it? Better to have him back to his old self in time for arrival of your lo so he can concentrate on enjoying that instead.

Leo - I swear - get onto the nipple stimulation woman! Those babies won't be able to hold on forever!

Sazzy - I'm so with you on the rubbish sleep.

For some reason I really think the baby has turned head down
I can usually feel his skull so easily at the top of my bump but it's gone! However... wouldn't I surely have felt him spin??? Do you think the c-section date has scared him into moving?????

37 weeks

LunarSea · 16/02/2007 10:17

Still haven't got anything ready!

But saw a friend the other day who's got a 5 month old ds, and arranged to swap some of the 6-9 stuff I've still got from ds (i.e. spring/summer stuff because he was a September baby, and this one will need autumn/winter stuff anyway by the time we want that size) for the 0-3 size stuff hers has grown out of. More than likely I'll get it back when it's outgrown again anyway, and they hardly wear things out in 3 months do they?

Now I just need to get dh up into the attic to fetch it all down!

LaidbackinEngland · 16/02/2007 10:30

Mossy - have you tried washing any of your reusable nappies yet and getting them dry in this weather ? I washed some 3 days ago and they only feel dry now.... may have to begrudgingly buy a tumble dryer

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 16/02/2007 10:31

Lunar, finally got all my boys boxes sorted up'till 18 months. They are all in cupboards, labled and waiting. It's a satisfying job to do. The only thing that needs doing is the packing of the bags incase I have to go to hospital and the getting ready for home birth stuff.

I said to dp yesterday that I feel like that blobby alien creature in the 'Quatermass experiment' I mean that I feel like I'm oozing fatty blubber everywhere . He said I looked like humpty dumpty and he felt that his was a kinder analogy

rosylonginglily · 16/02/2007 11:25

Ooh I am a bit tired today. But not have as grumpy.

Anyone else constantly ravenous at the moment? Must be baby wanting to get fat now! Must go eat third breakfast!

Fox, hope you manage to settle into vegetating for the last bit now, it's easy you know, just takes a bit of practise...I of course am an expert!

Moss glad your fish is happy again.

Laidback don't know how you'll manage without a tumble dryer with washing nappies...welcome home to dampland!

Hope all those breechy babies are getting into position!

Leo sending you positive labouring vibes!

rosylonginglily · 16/02/2007 11:26

half as grumpy...

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 16/02/2007 11:32

Am I the only person in this effing office capable of getting up and answering the effing door?

Sorry just had to get that off my not inconsiderable chest!

Kitty I'm sure you don't look like humpty dumpty! Maybe a heffalump? That's how I see myself atm anyway!

Lunar not yet, that's a job for maternity leave! I have a tumble dryer but it's quite expensive to have it on all the time, so I'm going to air dry them on a clothes horse thing in the bath, and then use the tumble dryer just to fluff them up at the end, like I do with the towels atm.

Muppet I am gonna get a moses basket second hand off ebay, I have decided. But I hope dh doesn't through his undies in it! However, I could imagine Ziggy would see it as a lovely warm cosy place to sleep so will have to warn him away!

Sazzy can you get any kip during the day?

Thanks for all the nice words about dh not getting the job. I feel a bit weird about it; a little because the extra money would have meant more time at home for me, but on the whole I'm actually really because he is acting like a normal person again!!

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 16/02/2007 11:33

Xposts, Rosy you know the mw did say one good thing to me yesterday. She said I had ketones in my wee and it may mean I wasn't eating enough so it's multiple brekkies for me too!

OP posts:
LunarSea · 16/02/2007 11:40

Moss- but I'm not actually getting any maternity leave before baby arrives (unless it's late that it). So I need to do some things while I'm still working. Have just had two huge work requests in from clients - the sort that take them 5 minutes to request, and me a couple of days to do - but of course they want them yesterday. So bang goes my weekend - and just when I thought I was getting my workload under control too (for once have actually managed to stick to the average 7.5 hours a day I get paid for this week up to now).

lisjane2 · 16/02/2007 11:42

hi all!
I'm new to the thread, afraid i didn't have time to read all the messages. Its great to listen to other people due same time as me.
I'm not due till the very end of March, the 31st in fact but i'm hoping this one will come early like my DS.
I did do a tread about big babies as at my 28 week scan he was a week bigger and i was afraid of having a baby bigger than last who was 8lb 13oz but when some said they had babies as big as 12lb i don't know what i was moaning about!
I'm hoping to have this one by Red Nose Day, B4 mother's day so that my OH has to buy me more mother's day pressies!!!
DS labour didn't last for days thank god and i feel sorry for you all who are having or have had one!! i felt light contractions during the day then painful ones by midnight but then had him by 6AM Doc's count it at only 5hrs as i wasn't 3 cm till 1AM.

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 16/02/2007 11:43

Oh Lunar I forgot, sorry.

In that case deffo get a tumble dryer, it costs more than air drying but it's a lot faster and you will get more stuff done.

Hello and welcome lizjane2

OP posts:
LaidbackinEngland · 16/02/2007 11:50

Just had a very annoying phone call from my midwife advising me to cancel my home birth and have this babe in hospital as it could be bigger than DS2

Feeling very annoyed and upset - have started a thread in the childbirth section.... could do with some advice. No good at doing links ...sorry.

Kitty - are you around ? I know you are good at standing up to " the system " !

LaidbackinEngland · 16/02/2007 11:51

Welcome LizJane too...

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 16/02/2007 11:52

Welcome Lizjane2

lisjane2 · 16/02/2007 11:55

i'm afraid i don't think i'll ever have the choice of a home birth, i have to have my blood watched and checked and given injections to thin it down as i'm very likely to get a clot. i have to give myself the injections for 6 weeks after too, with my blood thinned means i go through the fanny pads like ther's no tomo!!! oh the joys of child birth!!!
