Ladies sorry I've been a bit remiss at replying to messages today, I've been called upon to help train up a new girl here.

I will try and get in this afternoon to catch up properly. But in the meantime I wanted to let you all have a read of this.

Birchalls Pork Pies

It will make you laugh!

Totally ma there about getting up from sit to stand taking a few seconds
I always get up very carefully, it's as if something might pop. And now of course it's instantly accompanied by a BH, so I tend to sit.. mostly

Pork pies adored the world around mossy
We are very near Melton Mowbray, they take their pies very seriously indeed

g'day ladies. God i am so with you sazzy and piffle and all that arent sleeping, i totally sympathise. Went to bed at 11, propped up by five pillows and one under my knees, fell asleep, woke at 12 30, numb bum, and leg cramps [owwwwwww emotion], went for a wee, back to bed tried to lie on left side, pillow under bump and between knees, all the while trying not to wake DH, went to sleep by 1 ish, woke at 2 30...and so it goes on, i got up at 4 45 becasue i was so uncomfortable, tired and fed up, came downstairs and just cried, ended up sitting on settee with feet on footstool cushions behind head and lower back, managed to doze on and off till DD woke at 7... needless to say am shagged beyond belief, how will i/we manage to get through labour if this is how its to be for the next week or so????

Kitty much sympathy to you too, i went out to the shops this mornig, to get two things, took me well over an hour and half, walking is the pits. I met a friend and we went for a coffee, i sat down and thought fuck i am going to faint, i came over all dizzy with hot/cold sweats, breathless and shaky it was horrid, i think it may have something to do with lack of sleep also. I have to keep reminding myself that this is the last hurdle, and theres not too long to go. I have also decided that pottering round the house is the most i can do now also.

Who mentioned Paul Weller? It reminded me DH has got us tickets to see 'The Jam' in May. But its minus Paul Weller, which is a shame but will still be cool to hear all the old songs. I was well into the Jam in my youth, but never got to see them, i did see The Style council with Mr Weller, but it wasnt the same!

Fox i would be pissed off also if i was you. But try not to let it get to you too much you dont want any issues with rising blood pressure {{{{hugs}}}}

divastropwantstodrop · 27/02/2007 12:58

i'm finding it strange as i havent experienced this stage of pregnancy before, except with ds1 but i was in hospital then so i didnt have to do anything.i feel like all my insides are going to fall out of my fanjo and that someone is trying to pull my pelvis apart...ive also got that lower backache and period-type pain again.
i normally chat to the other mums in ds2's nursery playground but this morning i just wanted to hide.

i've decided im just going to postpone my birthday celebrations rather than trying to get the baby to arrive early,as i'd rather wait for my mother to come up and dp be there for the birth.

fox-i thought you got on ok with your dad?why is he being an arse?
the morning after i had dd2 i rang my mum to ask her to bring some stuff up(she was looking after the others)and she spent 10 mins shouting at me about the fact that ds2 had put nail varnish in his eye(that dd1 had left lying around)and saying things like 'can you imagine how i felt?you know i dont like eyes!'.and i was thinking 'but i just had a baby.i dont give a shit.'

i'm dreading my mum coming up this time,i just know shes going to make snide comments to me about dp/the kids/the house just when i'm feeling my most vulnerable.

Piffle · 27/02/2007 13:17

So I'm not the only person who gets odd looks from others when saying
"I cannot wait for this baby to come out so I can get some sleep"
the thought of even 2 hrs straight is utopia...

Jaysecond · 27/02/2007 13:20

Indeed Piffle, i just want to be able to lie down comfortably and then to be able to get up without feeling like i am 90 years old !

rosylonginglily · 27/02/2007 13:20

I can't keep up! I've read all the chat and now my mind is a blank! I'm a wreck today. had my check up, everythings fine. ketones in my urine, I think you had that Moss? Need to eat more, it'll be tough but has to be done
Not back for two weeks when I'll be 4 days overdue.
Asked a bit about waterbirth and only some of the staff are qualified to supervise so it depends who is on when I go.

Piffle · 27/02/2007 13:22

diva, don't envy you.
My mum and dp had huge falling out after dd was born
Mum wanted to do mummy things, like cook and clean and give dd her first bath, snuggle.pram rides etc (mum had been there with ds who I had when I was single and she was a godsend then, did so much for me - she just assumed the same role again)
However dp took being a father very seriously and wanted to cook and support me himself - and the first bath we wanted to bath dd in the bath with both of us in there with her. mum flipped and called us selfish!!! Row ensued... cue me in many tears and dp enraged

Mum ended up calling him Pol Pot and we had to ask her to leave as we were coping fine.

Now 4.5 yrs on they know each other better now so cannot see the same occuring

Can be very stressful when you clash though, it;s such a vulnerable time - PIL's were GREAT though , they visited, made tea, brought dinner, presents, washed up, cuddled, snuggled and left.

rosylonginglily · 27/02/2007 13:28

Oh mw said if I hadn't gone into labour by next checkup they would do a sweep. I think by then I'll put up with a sweep in the hope it starts me before I end up in induction land.

Booboobedoo · 27/02/2007 14:06

Afternoon ladies.

Well, I've just finished putting a script together for the school show. Should have done it ages ago, but it's done now.

I used to teach Paul Weller & D.C. Lee's kids - they were very sweet. He used to come and pick them up from school. He'd lean on the filing cabinet and look awkward.

His daughter introduced me as her singing teacher (she was about 7 at the time), and I just stammered at him like a wally.

Mmmm pies. I'd like a pie.

Well, sorry if I'm rubbing it in but I actually got 8 straight hours sleep last night. For the first time in months. I can't believe the difference - I feel so well!

I'm popping raspberry leaf capsules like they're going out of fashion. Have no idea if they're having any effect.

What was your Dad's tone like when he informed you of your time-limits foxy? Do you think people get more blase with you when you've already got one or two kids?

Sorry for you poor insomniacs: sure I'll be back in your ranks tonight. Last night was just too good to be true.

HI All
See everybody is feeling pissed off with heavy pregnancy and lack of sleep, ditto to that, although I feel ok today. Have to say since this is my first pregnancy I have been going shopping loads and walking about. It was fine up until sometime last week when I walked up town from the car and nearly died on the steps of M&S with shortness of breath. A big change had occoured in the night and now I can't get very far. Its a spooky insight into what it will be like to be old.

Chocolatepenny · 27/02/2007 14:09

Can't remember who has a husband who is a children's author, can anyone fill me in? wanted to ask
I have been asked to do a iIllustrator/ author reading event at a book festival this year for kids and they want to know how much I charge but I have no idea what ball park is?

muppetisacat · 27/02/2007 14:15

Just a quick one b4 i go into have final scan... yes ANOTHER bloody scan... to waste hours of my life in the antenatal dept for 3 mins and someone to confirm the baby has turned.

You may well be asking "But why muppet? Did you not have an internal exam on friday complete with SWEEP at which your mw confirmed she felt the babies head??"

Why yes i did ladies, but my sadistic mw clearly decided to send me for a scan anyway 'just to make sure' b4 they cancel the c-section.

"Bit of a waste of time me having the internal on friday" i said
"Well, i suppose so..." replies mw.
ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH

Anyway - hope you are all well... I'm joining the no-sleep club too - and I agree with you Jay - it DOES make you feel faint.

Mossy - what are you doing finding out about pork pies? I don't think you'll be winner of the week if you keep that up

Diva "You know i don't like eyes!" ?????????? Not an expression you hear most days is it??? Poor you.

38+4 (boy who has had a ridiculous 6 scans now and will probably come out glowing)

sazzybee · 27/02/2007 14:31

LOL muppet
My LO's has 7 scans if it makes you feel better. I've told myself that he'll be very used to having his pic taken by the time he gets here.
I've become a dab hand at the AN clinic - I know the optimum appointment time and what time to get there to get in and out fast. I did it in under an hour yesterday - result!

Piffle · 27/02/2007 14:40

is everyone been seen weekly after 36 wks
it says in my notes weekly appts with m/w but m/w told me yesterday, come back in 2 weeks, if you don't call us before then!!! (homebirth she thinks baby might not go the full 40wks for some reason - maybe cos dd was born 38 wks)
Oh to think in one week 3 days to be unburdened...
If only...

Booboobedoo · 27/02/2007 14:40

CP: I think that's Callie

Piffle · 27/02/2007 14:42

Scan count ummm let's think
6 wk early scan due to previous ectopic
12 wk dating scan
20 wk anomaly scan
26 wk growth scan (due to dd having rare genetic symdrome)
28 wk growth scan
32 wk growth scan

Yes another sonic baby hear too, probably be able to communicate with dolphins post exit...

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 27/02/2007 14:49

Well we went out at dinnertime for my "leaving do" (as a few people are not in tomorrow) and as I didn't want to go to a pub we went to a café. And sat in silence drinking coffee / hot chocolate.

I have spent most of the morning training the new girl here, it's been all right actually, I've just been taking the p out of the whole bleedin' enterprise! Darth gave me the evils but I don't care.

Muppet another scan? You poor thing! And after all that on Friday! Still I suppose at least it's another chance to see your lo before the big day. As for the Birchall's stories, well, they are the best pies ever, I am going to eat loads of 'em while I'm off on mat leave! The queue goes all the way round and out of the shop at about eleven o'clock actually. Seriously!

Chocolatepenny I think it's Callie's dp who is an author.

Booboo of your sleep! But glad it made you feel a bit better.

Rosy yes it was me with the ketones. What a nightmare, having to eat more. Oh I have struggled.

Diva, "you know I don't like eyes"? What a strange statement! I hope your Mum manages to be a help to you rather than be overbearing.

Sazzy - pre baby freedom - I'm going to spend my pre-baby maternity leave learning to cook! I'll make lots of stews and things that can be frozen so we don't have to cook for the first few weeks when lo is born.

Jay lots of sympathy from me over the leg cramps. I only started getting them recently. I read banana can help, although it doesn't seem to have done much for me.

Kitty you poor thing you must be knackered. I have finally relinquished supermarket duties to dh; prior to that it was the only time we got out together really!

Foxy sorry about your Dad. I know it's not the ideal but I'm sure "Foxy's backup crew" will be more than happy to help you, I would if I lived near anyway!!

As for the prostaglandin, well last night I said to dh, "we should have sex you know". He looked and said, "you'd crush me! You're massive! We tried that a few weeks ago and it was very complicated" and then said, "anyway you don't really want it you just want the prosty gland stuff!"

Xposts Piffle lol at "communicating with dolphins"!

OP posts:
Piffle · 27/02/2007 15:03

lol mossy, my dp also reacts to being asked to condition my cervix
Who said romance was dead
Well jaysus pregnancy kills it dead what with piles, stress incontinence, breasts like a tube map etc
tis a wonder people go on to have more

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 27/02/2007 15:06

"Ooh darling, do you fancy a glass or two of sparkling wine this evening? And afterwards an early night and you can condition my cervix?"

OP posts:
Piffle · 27/02/2007 15:08

and quickly so I can sleep, although I cannot speak for everyones husband, mine has been so "underutilised" since conceiving that time would not be an issue

Jeepers hope he does not come on here and se what I've been doing with my day

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 27/02/2007 15:17

Lol Piffle! Yes if my dh came on here I'm not sure what he'd think!

Oh I'm going to ask an embarrassing question in the pregnancy topic now. So if you go and have a look that would be great, if you have any opinions on snoring!

OP posts:
Piffle · 27/02/2007 15:19
