rosylonginglily · 24/02/2007 21:13

43 - 13

foxabout2pop · 24/02/2007 21:19

Diva/Kitty/Magpie - I was sitting upright with DS and DD, with my legs bent in front of me, which was very comfy - but have been told that that position is a complete "no, no" as it can cause spd in later pregnancies

Think I'll try leaning forward over a bean bag.

Its one reason I don't want to be induced, as that would mean monitoring which would make it difficult to try different positions.

Unfortunatly I can't cope with the thigh-ache of squatting!

...have told my DCs to go away a few times in the last few weks, 'cos I can't cope with their conversation

When DH is home, its "go and ask daddy"...

rosylonginglily · 24/02/2007 21:29

Dh has the runs and a temperature now. I don't know when he'll be back, really busting for him to be here now. His flight was booked for this tuesday coming but he said he would probably come later, he has to confirm it so it's always easy to change.

I'm feeling nervous about the labour now and I really do want to get it overwith....

foxabout2pop · 24/02/2007 21:32

Poor you Rosy - when is your EDD again?

divastropwantstodrop · 24/02/2007 21:37

rosy-i've just spent the last 5 minutes trying to figure out 43-13,but it has me baffled
when do you think your dh will be back?

my dp has a temp/cough/cold/headache etc,he doesnt 'do' man flu,so for him to actually admit he's ill he must be pretty bad.i have to wait for him to get better before i have the baby now.

when i was at the hospital last week(getting assessed on the labour ward)i could hear a woman in labour, and it brought it all back!i dont want to push for 40 mins againi want it to fall out!!!

rosylonginglily · 24/02/2007 21:41

Diva I'm worried about how fast it was for me the last two times, I'm now remembering it vividly, I think I need a hypnobirthing calm yourself cd like Kitty has!

43 -13 is the Ireland- England rugby score in Dublin tonight

foxabout2pop · 24/02/2007 21:45

ahah!! [light bulb in brain suddenly switches on]

foxabout2pop · 24/02/2007 21:46

Rosy - do you have a plan for what will happen when you go into labour?

-ahh,so thats why i didnt have a clue.

rosylonginglily · 24/02/2007 21:54

Fox, I need to write a plan properly that might help me focus. If dh isn't around my family are around to mind kids, I don't even care if I have a birth partner at the moment.
I hope once it starts I'll just get on with it knowing there's no choice really.
Hoping to try for a water birth at the hospital.
And I'm bearing in mind my position, last two times I was sitting in the same way as you described.

rosylonginglily · 24/02/2007 21:56

EDD 11th march. I went over 5 days with the other three so plenty of time I'm sure.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 24/02/2007 22:01

Rosy, you're not having much luck with your dh at the mo are you? What will you do now?

Hypnobirthing cd is helping me to chill out about it. Occasionally I get seized with a sort of whole body terror and think" I can't do this again" it's pretty horrid. But then I try and tell myself that this time doesn't have to be like last time, all births are different etc. God, I suddenly feel really heavy and really immoblie.
Dp was laughing this evening as lo had rolled right forward and dp said my bump looked just like a perfect but huge football .
Right I had one stubby lager this evening. It made me burp so much I got shocking heartburn and now I feel really hot. So beer and wine are no good, what can I try now? I don't want to be on Cadbury's highlights for the next x weeks!!

divastropwantstodrop · 24/02/2007 22:13

have you tried baileys?

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 25/02/2007 08:28

I LOVE Baileys, trouble is I can drink an awful lot of it

rosylonginglily · 25/02/2007 08:56

Hey it's handy having a two year old! He comes to me to tell me he needs a clean nappy, brings me wipes and a clean nappy don't even need to get out of my chair which is good cuz it takes ages to get out of my chair!
Poor chap really needs potty trained though and it's a totally bad time....

Anyway only two more years til the next one can practically change his own nappy too!

Baileys is yummy stuff indeed.

38 weeks today

foxabout2pop · 25/02/2007 09:46

Oooh Diva I lurve Baileys too

Rosy - I may well end up without a birth partner too, as DH can take 2 hours to get back from work and I'm still not convinced he'll answer his mobile on THE BIG DAY. He's partially deaf as well as being very laid back

Like you, I really want to get the hospital in time to try their birthing pool as I've never used one before and love the idea of a water birth. Appratently they take ages to fill so will have to try and plan that bit in...

I'm due this week and still haven't written a plan yet....

Who was that "anonimous" person earlier - posted to say they had a good party then deleted it??

Kitty - I'm completely immobile too - can hardly walk and can't find a comfortable position to sit in, lie in etc. I also can't bend down - or rather can but then can't get up again. Do you find the SPD realy hurts when you try and get off the floor?

I've managed to lose DS's holiday homework, which means I have to spend half the day hunting for it. Also can't find the guaruntee or receipt for the washing machine, which is behaving in a very dodgy manner atm....

foxabout2pop · 25/02/2007 09:46

39 weeks today (Monti)

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 25/02/2007 09:50

Morning all,

Just a quickie 'cos we didn't finish the shopping yesterday so are going to complete it this morning!

Foxy and any other DT fans, hope you're watching Sunday AM right now on the BBC! Don't forget Recovery is on tonight... (just had dh mercilessly taking the p out of DT, he's mean and possibly just a little but he is actually quite funny to be fair!)

Kitty another vote for Baileys! Especially in coffee or as a night cap, in some hot milk! Agree with you though it's difficult to know when to stop!

Rosy congrats on the Rugby score yesterday!

Everyone else I had better go and get ready we want to hit the shops before it gets too busy, then have sil around thisavvy so I will try to catch up again in the evening!!!!

eidsvold · 25/02/2007 09:54

baileys on ice cream - yum

hot hot hot here.

NOt much else happening... just waddling along and counting down although think I need to start sorting hospital bag for me.

Off for coffee tomorrow. I am a new parent support person for our Down Syndrome Association. I am visiting a family who had a little girl with down syndrome before christmas.

foxabout2pop · 25/02/2007 10:13

Eids - good for you - you amaze me with your energy for voluntary work [impressed emoticon]. You'll be great in that role I'm sure

Mossy - DT -- where where let me at 'im!!

rosylonginglily · 25/02/2007 11:34

Eidsvold I'm sure you will be really helpful to the person you are visiting. It's really great you can find the energy to offer that help.

Fox wouldn't it be great if we manage a waterbirth! I'm sure one of my family will volunteer to come with me if I need someone. I just really would prefer to have dh there, he is great with me in labour. anyway it's one of his hobbies to leave things to the last minute and arrive in the nick of time so we'll see!

divastropwantstodrop · 25/02/2007 12:07

kitty-i have avoided baileys as i dont know when to stop when i start drinking it.

eids-im amazed you have the energy to do anything in that heat

rosy-my ds2 was about that age when i was expecting dd2,he also used to bring me the nappy+wipes when he'd done a poo.i potty trained him when dd2 was about 3 months old and had settled into a routine,it would have been too stressful before then.

fox-i reported that post as i dont think the person meant to post here under that name.

anybody started dreaming about the birth?i dreamt i gave birth to a 2 year old girl last night and thought i didnt have any clothes/nappies to fit her, then realised dd2's stuff would do till i could get to the shops

37+4

foxabout2pop · 25/02/2007 12:15

Diva - I thought that post might be a mistake too

Giving birth to a two year old girl sounds a bit painful!!

I haven't had any dreams about the birth TBH. I've had lots of dreams where I spend several hours looking for toilets though

foxabout2pop · 25/02/2007 12:24

Mossy - I'm going to start my "reclaiming bank charges" process today, like you've done. Wish me luck.

Just eaten loads of pineapple!!

I've got a fetal monitoring appt booked for tomorrow but think I will call them and postpone until Friday, as Monti has been moving loads so is clearly thriving away in there.

Tomorrow the skids are back at school and it would be a really good opportunity to get everything sorted out prior to Monti arriving. I need to set his little moses basket up next to the bed...aaaawwwww
