Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
sazzybee · 24/02/2007 11:44

a lot even

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 24/02/2007 12:02

It's true Sazzy, you go a bit mental towards the end. it's good prep for life with newborn

Chocolatepenny · 24/02/2007 12:03

Get in and out the car usually takes the longest, its funny when somebody is waiting for your parking space and I'm taking ages cos I'm so out of breath getting into the car I have to have a little rest befoer I drive off.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 24/02/2007 12:08

I have to hold onto the handles above the door on the inside and pull on them to swivel myself round so that I can keep both knees firmily together. That way it doesn't aggravate the spd.

Chocolatepenny · 24/02/2007 12:10

Well its good practice for a ladylike way to exit a car in future although it sounds damn uncomfortable!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 24/02/2007 12:13

Yeah, I knew what I leanred at the finishing school would come in handy one day

spongecake · 24/02/2007 14:27

slept better last night, hoope you all did too. think am waiting for baby to come and want to be awake

was advised to put plastic carrier bag in car to help swivel and sit. keep forgetting to take bag outside though..

mw said at antenatal she and other mw would decide if we needed a sweep just smiled and thought "no, you will discuss with me, and I will decide" have had strong words with DP that he is not to be intimidated by these people and to be assertive- he is there for me, not to make new best friends. he is nervous wreck now- no pressure then

pelvis achey still and feel so irritable want to slap myself out if it.

rosylonginglily · 24/02/2007 14:46

Lunar glad you are okay after yesterday.

Kitty I have broken so many cups this pregnancy that my mum and sister have given me loads of their spares to replace them

Chocolatepenny/sazzybee I'm positively sweating by the time I've strapped wriggling children in and got myself into the car, phew. Then I drive like a little old lady too.
How do you get 4 elephants into a mini?
Two in the front and two in the back

Moss you'll have loads of new things to play with this evening!

Spongecake/muppet definately think I'll resist the sweep then and stick to the pineapple.

Heard from dh, three of his sisters, his mother, brother and 6 grown up nieces and nephews are all staying together in a two bedroom townhouse in Multan now Spoke to them on the phone, I can only say a few words to them...I am so useless at languages I really tried to learn it and I understand alot but my mind goes totally blank then.

divastropwantstodrop · 24/02/2007 16:54

trains...something always seems to happen when me and my mother are due to visit each other.last time i went down there it was not long after the july bombings in london, but i'd already got my tickets.
my mother is coming up a week on tuesday and theres a derailment on the line that she has to use.luckily, she has to change at lancaster and the accident was past that point.

i couldnt even switch the computer on earlier cos i badly scalded my hand whilst taking some instant noodles out of the microwave(i think there are a fair few people on this site who would say i deserve it for feeding my son instant noodles in the first place).my eyes keep going blurry and i caught the bowl on the door.dp now thinks that i have a low pain threshold and wonders what im going to be like in labour..whereas i now think hes an unsympathetic bleep and wonder what hes going to be like when im in labour.
personally,i think labour is less painful that that was

well, ive tried the pineapples, clary sage oil in the bath, rasberry leaf tea etc but this baby is quite happy to stay put

Chocolatepenny · 24/02/2007 17:28

Today I have gone nesting crazy.

Chocolatepenny · 24/02/2007 17:30

If fact I'm not in my right mind, This only started to happen yesterday and now I'm convince its instructions from central control and he's planning on coming out 3wks early.

shanks313 · 24/02/2007 17:51

We are trying everything-just started on raspberry leaf, pineapple etc.Nothings happening.

We had to have a trip out this afternoon, baby hasnt been kicking as much since yesterday so had to get her monitored at the hospital.Everything was fine and she enjoyed playing kick the monitor

1973magpie · 24/02/2007 18:14

I'm still here too

I have tried raspberry leaf capsules, walking upstairs sideways, clary sage & lavender in the bath and have even had 2 'encounters' ! with DH (who can't believe his luck ) but nothing yet

Ladies, don't even begin to hope before 40 weeks. There's no point at all. You'll only get cross. just tell yourselves not to think about it for another couple of weeks and anything else will be a bonus. I'm not even thinking about anything moving until the first week in April. I would get far too cross and frustrated if i thought any other way.

Diva, sorry for you [sad}

foxabout2pop · 24/02/2007 18:55

Hi everyone - have been lurking on here today but too tired to "speak"

SPD ladies - have you been told to give birth in any particulat position? I've been told to lean forward over a bean bag or on all fours, so as not to damage the pelvic joint (apparenlty if your tail bone is unrestricted it can left up during birth, easing pressure on pubic bone).

Sazzy - glad you had a decent sleep too - it makes all the difference doesn't it. Defo think the cava would have helped though!

Muppet - eek - you've put me off having a sweep with your description - specially as it didn't even work!!

Lunar - your symptoms calmed down now then? I still think your body is getting ready slowly - gearing up. Glad big the meeting went OK.

Mossy - you've got so much energy - did you buy anything nice today? Just the thought of shopping makes me feel tired

Kitty - I'm a space cadet too and can't even manage my usual white van driver style of driving. I've got very intolerant too and only want to talk to people I really like IFKWIM. 90% of the world's population just pee me off atm

Chocolate - I get tired getting in the car too and have to sit for a minute, composing myself LOL at "instructions from central control".

Rosy - glad you've heard from DH - when is he home again? Sounds a bit cosy in that house eh??

Diva - confession time - I LOVE instant noodles and so do the Dcs. They have the chicken and pepperoni ones and I mix mine with instant vegetable soup!!!! Delicious You poor thing scalding your hand though - excruciating

Magpie - have you tried the pineapple too yet? I bought some today and will scoff it later and wait...and wait...err and wait....

DH's birthday tomorrow and we bought him a mobile phone!!! LOL - he can't escape me now

It was suppose to be a surprise but DD just said to him "Daddy, we got you a surprise - we got you a phone!"

foxabout2pop · 24/02/2007 18:58

Kitty - I always think my babies are going to come early and they never do!!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 24/02/2007 19:57

You know foxy MOST babies don't come early if left to their own devices. Even though I know I've a few more weeks of ever increasing yuk before me it still makes me bad tempered. I so understand what you mean about not wanting to talk to anybody but the chosen few.
My poor children are getting short shrift now, especially ds2 who is quite a scientific boffin. He comes at me with statements/questions like " I know what bubbles are made of and why they float above water" and then goes on and on not taking a single breath for what seems like hours, explaining things like surface tension. He then asks me questions and I say "Go and ask your father , I don't know or look it up on the net"
Inside I am screaming "shut up, go away, leave me alone ffs" Then I feel really mean

sazzybee · 24/02/2007 20:16

I'm supposed to be going out this evening to watch some friends of mine dancing but I don't think I can cope with going to a smoky gig even though it's only 5 mins down the road. And I will have to talk to people. If one more person gives me advice on how I should give birth, I'm going to deck them. 'I hope you're having a natural birth' 'Don't take any drugs'. It's none of your business! I'm sure they're well-meaning but if I want advice, I'll ask for it.
Oh kitty don't depress me. The consultants have been telling me that this baby will be early since I was 32 weeks and I have believed them

divastropwantstodrop · 24/02/2007 20:20

kitty-snap!my ds1 goes on and on about computers and electronics all the time, normally i try to understand what hes talking about but atm i just think 'oh ffs,i dont give a crap how computers work as long as they work.go away!!!'.and i feel nasty too.

dp was unsympathetic,he explained later,as he used to work in a kitchen and got so used to burning and scalding himself after a while that it no longer causes him any pain.this is the first time ive ever scalded myself.i am,however, used to having babies so will be far more able to cope with that pain.in fact,i cant wait fot it

kitty-i think i am getting impatient now because i had my last 3 babies at 38 weeks and the thought of going past that is really frustrating me

1973magpie · 24/02/2007 20:24

Foxy - I haven't tried pineapple yet because of the GD, I don't think my blood sugar would stand it

RE: the SPD I have been advised to give birth in a deep supported squat (but I can move my legs apart side-to-side, just not front-to-back scissors style). But I have read that you really musn't lie on your back as that is really bad for SPD, so it makes sense to use an on all fours position.

Kitty - I am willing to try anything to bring on labour asap, as my consultant wants to induce me on my due date if I haven't given birth before then, and I definitely wouldn't get my homebirth .

Unfortunatley DD1 was 10 days late, so I'm not holding out too much hope!!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 24/02/2007 20:27

Sazzy, I'm puzzled as to how the consultants would know that. Are they mystic consultants perchance?

Diva, perhaps it's all to do with the blood pressure? You've had a different preg in that sense this time haven't you so it would make sense for the timing to be a bit different too? Hey, if your dp doesn't feel that sort of pain in his hands anymore then he won't notice when you break his fingers whilst in labour will he?

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 24/02/2007 20:29

Magpie I've given birth on all fours but supported at my head end either by leaning on the end of a bed or on some poor volunteer

sazzybee · 24/02/2007 20:35

Actually now you come to mention it, one of them is called Derren Brown
It's because of the polyhydramnios - the sheer weight of the fluid on my cervix I think
diva - I'm sorry you scalded yourself. Hurts doesn't it?

divastropwantstodrop · 24/02/2007 20:46

IME,i would be likely to punch anybody who tried to hold my hand in labour.i know i kicked the mw when i was having ds2

i gave birth to ds2 on all 4's,and with dd2 i was on my knees but upright with my hands on the back of the bed..once her head was out the rest shot out straight after, the mw only just caught her in time.

i did not enjoy the 'flat on my back strapped to a monitor' postion with my first 2.babies just arent meant to be born uphill
