also just got out of the bath and noticed some wicked red strech marks around bottom of bump, damn.

rosylonginglily · 23/02/2007 20:47

Muppet great news that baby has turned!

Sazzybee hope you have a fun evening and it'll get you all excited about becoming a mum soon!

Spongecake, dh is due to fly back on tues but he says maybe a few days later, then he'll probably have to go to cork! If he's here for the baby coming I think I'll eat my hat!

divastropwantstodrop · 23/02/2007 21:00

-rosy,are you postponing your birthday also?

i hope your dh gets back for the birth at least.

rosylonginglily · 23/02/2007 21:04

Diva I am not postponing my birthday! Wonder am I tempting fate? I'm having a family birthday tea on thursday and on friday going out to a show with my sister and some girly friends

divastropwantstodrop · 23/02/2007 21:18

well im still holding out for my original birth plan of 5 minute pain-free labour on febuary 28th,during which the extra fat on my bum and thighs will also dissapear so i can go out on thursday night in my size 10 clothes.oh,and my boobs have to return to their pre-preg size in a matter of hours also

AmieR · 23/02/2007 21:20

Diva that sounds wonderful!

foxabout2pop · 23/02/2007 22:32

Diva

Muppet glad your Lo is now pointing in the right direction

That sweep thing sounds very painful - I'm glad I turned mine down on Monday.

My pelvis is agony now - might treat myself to half a glass of wine - purely for medical reasons to aneathsasise it a bit so I can sleep

I wonder if Monti has dropped down further and that's why it hurts more?

SPD sufferers - what happens to the spd pain during labour - is it agony or is it overshadowed by the labour pains?

I've been told I have to give birth leaning forward - has any of the other spd women been so advised?

Well, I haven't seen my menfolk on the news all eveining which is most annoying. Apparently DS was holding the Aboriginal flag...

Slightly embarassing it hasn't been on the news - I hope you lot don't think I made the whole thing up !!!

TheBlonde · 23/02/2007 22:36

Just popping in with a question...

Can anyone recall/remind me what Braxton Hicks are supposed to be like? I can't decide if I'm getting them or if my belly is just going tight due to baby movements

Got backache too but I think it's cos I walked too far today

eidsvold · 23/02/2007 23:07

gosh so much to keep up with. Can't think straight.

Hope all is going well for flanno jammies and dixia.

wonder who will be next?

Not me that is for sure.

Had a crap night's sleep last night - just could not get to sleep - thankfully the dds woke up at 7am rather than their earlier 6am!!

morocco · 23/02/2007 23:48

like that birth plan, diva

so many bdays! we're doing ds2's bday party tomorrow at the house, mad panic tonight blowing up balloons etc he's so excited about it - has been since about October! he's 3 on the 4th March so we thought we'd bring forward the party so less chance of it being overshadowed. he missed last years cos his brother was really sick and in hospital - i found his bday cake weeks later all mouldy in a cupboard - of course, he was only 2 so didn't realise a thing but it still upsets me to think of it.

an aside : anyone else watching/watched that prog 'david icke, was he right?' - some seriously odd stuff!

sazzybee · 24/02/2007 00:04

Well everyone has just left and I'm sitting in the debris very happy. That might be down to to the glass of cava I've had! My first drink in weeks.

I have been given some really lovely presents and they all brought me something as well as something for the baby. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the generosity. I'm going to float away and leave the clearing up till the morning like the slattern I am

rosylonginglily · 24/02/2007 06:38

Sounds lovely sazzybee

Morocco, your ds will have such a lovely birthday this year, how sweet.

The blonde, that does sound like BH. I do get a bit of bachache with mine sometimes and I also think that doing alot/overdoing it seems to cause me to have loads and I'm forced to sit still somewhere. Take it easy! Some people experience the start of labour as backache so at this point every twinge that people have makes me think ooh maybe another baby is coming!

Fox the news seemed to be too busy with the current 'occupations' to bring up old ones!

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 24/02/2007 08:44

Morning everyone!

Piffle I managed to eat every last bit of my meal; you are right there isn't any space left, so I think most of it is now going straight to my bum!!

Muppet so glad your lo has turned! That's brilliant news! Although the sweep sounds painful - what exactly do they do, or is it tmi?

Diva I'm postponing my thirtieth too. If lo is on time he'll be a few days old; if he's late I'll be fed up and whale-esque! Dh is 30 next year, so we'll have a big joint bash up. Thought about you with the news last night but then I realised you wouldn't be going on a train from London to Glasgow!

And the reason I was watching the news.... Foxy.... didn't even happen! Are you making this up? I am only messing, as soon as the news on the train crash came on I thought they would have forgotten about everything else and they did.

Rosy glad your dh is coming back, how is his Mum?

Sazzy your baby shower sounds lovely!

Everyone else I hope you manage to get a bit of rest today! I have my driving lesson in fifteen mins, and then today is a BIG SHOPPING DAY! Although much as I am looking forward to buying nice baby stuff, the thought of lots of shopping doesn't thrill me the way it might have done before I was eggnant!

OP posts:
rosylonginglily · 24/02/2007 08:50

When did the train crash happen? I haven't heard that!

Happy driving and shopping Mossy, take lots of breaks in cafes as you go Dhs mum is ok it seems.

foxabout2pop · 24/02/2007 09:09

Hi everyone

oooh I got eight hours sleep last night - must've been that half glass of wine

Rosy - a London to Glasgow train fell off the tracks and down an embankment at Cumbria last night !!

Sassy - glad you had a lovely day

Mossy - are you still fitting behind the wheel then???

I've never had a sweep, but on Monday the consultant said "I just "pop" my finger into your cervix and run it round, to seperate the membrane from the cervix" - yeek!!

I felt sick all day yesterday and my bowels emptied big time twice in the morning, which was how my labour started with DS. Alas nothing has happened.

But have ordered two packets of pineapple slices for this weekend

sazzybee · 24/02/2007 10:08

Morning all
Eight hours - wow! Actually I must have had about that and only woke up to pee twice. I must trying drinking more often
Oooh foxy - that sounds quite like it might be the start of something. I felt sick yesterday morning but I think it was the speed I ate my cereal.
Mossy - have a good shop but do take loads of breaks. People will probably look alarmed at you daring to leave the house. I get told I'm 'brave' for going out. We should all be locked away!
Rosy - I'm very glad your DP's back and your MIL's doing okay. Good news all round.
I had just split up with my bf on my 30th so didn't celebrate it but had an absolutely blinding party for my 31st so I'm all for moving the date to something more convenient to you. My birthday is on Jan 2nd so it regularly gets shoved about anyway as it's a stupid time of year to try and celebrate anything at all.

muppetisacat · 24/02/2007 10:17

Foxy - lol at the way your consultant described the sweep - my mw had the same mannerisms which is why I assumed it was no big deal! Well... I am qualified now to say it WAS a big deal - I don't think it could have been a more "internal" experience! At one stage I swear she could have pulled my tonsils out (and not via the throat!)

She did say afterwards "Oooh, I think i was right in your bowels at one stage..."

Were you? were you really??? I hadn't noticed...

Spent all evening with chronic period pain and painful bh's so couldn't sleep much. Thankfully all has calmed down... I think it's made me realise i'm not ready for labour just yet so sprog can stay put for now.

God only knows why I agreed to it - I guess it was because they said it was a sure fire way to confirm the head was there (they could actually feel the plates of the skull through the membranes). I have this ability to go along with things people suggest in white coats without stopping to question things until afterwards....

38+1

muppetisacat · 24/02/2007 10:17

Sazzy - misread your post... thought you were having speed for breakfast [shock}

sazzybee · 24/02/2007 10:21

muppet - I do that too. Why is that? It's really frustrating isn't it? I'm really assertive in other parts of my life but as soon as a medical person suggests something, I don't have any opinion of my own and just go along with their suggestions in a sheeple-like way.
But I know now to say 'NO' if they say it to me then Seriouly I'm glad the pain has gone this morning. I guess he'll be out when he's ready. I'm very much starting to believe that nothing we do can make them come out faster - they're in charge!
37+5

sazzybee · 24/02/2007 10:25

LOl @ muppet - can you imagine?

LunarSea · 24/02/2007 10:36

Phew - survived the big meeting with nothing dramatic happening! Actually feel a lot more normal today, but bump has definately shifterd down another notch, so perhaps that's all it was.

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 24/02/2007 10:48

Sazzy / Muppet lol at speed for breakfast! Good heavens, I mean even when I was a clubber I waited until the evening.

Foxy I do just about fit behind the wheel, actually I don't mind lessons so much now, maybe I am improving! We'll have to wait and see.

Rosy glad your mil is okay you must be looking forward to getting dh back home!

Well my dh and mil have gone taking loads of stuff to the tip that was too meffy to put on freecycle. So I'm going to walk the dogs, and then after that it's shopping time! I don't know how much we will get done, loads of breaks yes I agree with that! Dh will be driving us from place to place so we'll probabably take a packed lunch in the car and have butties in between shops!

Lunar forgot to say glad you survived your meeting!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 24/02/2007 11:24

Mossy, I don't know how on earth you can do driving lessons. I know that I am not a very safe driver now; I'm just so clumsy and vague. The actual driving is second nature, but my ability to concentrate is shot to pieces.
I threw a glass of juice over myself this morning. Why, I have no idea. it was like someone else had control of my movements. This preg clumsiness is getting worse and worse now. I'm dropping everything, smashing cups and plates. I feel like I'm going mad with it all.

sazzybee · 24/02/2007 11:44

Pregnancy clumsiness? I didn't know about that. That would explain a lot. I thought it was just my bump getting in the way. I still drive - but very slowly, like a teeny old lady.
