I saw that thread Kitty

1973magpie · 22/02/2007 14:53

Amie and FPJs Congratulations on your new arrivals, glad everything is going well, even if the births were a little unexpected

Hi to everyone else, have only got a minute as I need to go and get DD from school, will try and post more later

Have just had a couple of really quite painful 'contractions'.... but they seem to have stopped now, probably just BHs, but started to wonder if I might be next!!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 22/02/2007 14:53

Rosy, When waiting for dd2 I was given a sweep by a male consultant. My doula said actually that men with long fingers get better results 'cos they can get right in there. It was the only time a sweep ever worked on me though

morocco · 22/02/2007 14:54

congrats flanellettepj's - how is life settling down now? i'm impressed by the driving at 8 days btw

sorry and glad to know a lot of us are being grumpy - at least it's not just me then . I'm defo in pmt style moodiness and not wanting to leave house much/talk to other people. god, I hope I don't have another month of this to go - I'd have no friends left.

piffle - hope you feel better soon, I remember getting a bad neck with ds1 and ds2 at the end, miserable when all you want t do is lie down and have a bit of a rest.

rosy - our car is in similar state. the other one is out of action completely since some broke the window last month and we can't be bothered/afford to get it fixed again. the doula has a nice big car though

hope to catch up again later today, knackered now

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 22/02/2007 14:55

bloody hell it's absolutely peeing down and I've got to go on the school run, yuk, yuk, I hate the wet.

Piffle · 22/02/2007 14:57

it's half term here
We're all snuggled up watching the raindrops course down our windows

rosylonginglily · 22/02/2007 15:07

It's lovely and bright, fresh and sunny here.

And where is spongecake???

And keep us posted Magpie!

Morocco, so glad I'm not the only one driving a heap of scrap

divastropwantstodrop · 22/02/2007 15:11

im glad im not the only one in a mood today.i was hoping it would be sunny so i could at least take the moany arses out to the park or something but its been peeing down.ive just been to town with all 4 of them...i expect ds2 to be a pain by running off etc but i really donr think an 8 and 9 year ols should be doing it

got some clary sage essential oil from the health food shop so im going to have a bath with some in later.am desperate, will try anything(except saveloy cos im in a mood atm).

rosy-how come your hospital offer sweeps from 38 weeks?when i was having dd2 the first mw couldnt reach to do a sweep and was about to give up(it was the last thing they were going to do before sending me home for 24 hours)but luckily another mw with longer fingers offered...a couple of hours later i had my strange show!

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 22/02/2007 15:13

thanks for the support mossy, what's say we give it a week then come up with something else to annoy her, and both use it

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 22/02/2007 15:29

No worries EllieK! I am in a bad mood today and as for taking the mickey bliss out of my, or your thread title - grrrr!

Diva good luck I hope your clary sage works!

Sorry to everyone with the crappy weather, I think I've taken the weather from you as it's really warm and sunny here.

Rosy your car sounds like a nightmare, but I'm glad you got the nice big burly AA men to fix it!

Magpie - real contractions ooh you might be next, suddenly there are babies everywhere!

Booboo thanks for sticking up for me on that thread! Oooh it made me mardy!

It's bad enough with colleagues being twunts atm but you don't want it on MN too! I'm prepared to admit I'm over reacting but I don't frankly care!

OP posts:
LunarSea · 22/02/2007 15:37

booboo - no I work for a big international corporation - which sometimes means that the wheels turn very slowly! Amie works for a family business I think.

maveta · 22/02/2007 15:46

Hey Mossy, popping in from April thread to say I thought you guys had a great title! I didn´t think it was cringeworthy. But then maybe I´M cringeworthy

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 22/02/2007 15:55

Why thank you very kindly Maveta!

I think I am in a very tetchy mood today.

I might actually force myself to do some work!

OP posts:
foxabout2pop · 22/02/2007 16:06

Muppet - what are you worring about when you lay awake at night? [nosy emoticon]

Rosy - LOL that you can't understand what MIL is saying. She probably doesn't mind that you don't understand - at least you don't argue back!

OMG - I have read everyone elses posts but don't have the energy to respond!!

Had a fab day at Bocketts farm, the DCs are quiet and content now.

Wonder who will pop next

Off to have a nose on that thread Moss

shanks313 · 22/02/2007 16:07

Hi everyone

think the bad moods are caused by everyone wanting their little ones out.I have had enough of the waiting game...feeling very emotional this week too...bursting into tears all the time for small reasons.

Well we started operation labour yesterday.Had fresh pneapple and cheese last night and spicy noodles.Tweaking the nipples and other stuff today;) So hopefully something might happen.Going to have a warm bath and more tweaking later with a nice spicy dinner lol.

38 weeks+2(girl)

sazzybee · 22/02/2007 16:12

LunarSea - I had lunch with one of my colleagues today and miraculously after totally failing to find a replacement for me while I was still working, they have now got someone to start in two weeks! So I think the trick is to actually go on maternity leave. Certainly seems to be the only way my boss came to terms with my not being around. I work for a big international company too. Useless. It was quite good hearing about what's going on at work - interesting but I felt very detached. It's very much not my problem anymore

divastropwantstodrop · 22/02/2007 16:13

what thread??have i missed something??

i wonder if these pineapple/rasberry tea/curry/saveloy things actually work or if its just coincidence and the women theyve worked for were about to go into labour anyway?

still, anythings worth a try and it gives us something to do while we're waiting

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 22/02/2007 16:19

Diva someone started having a go at people on the April antenatal thread for using the word - do cover your ears it's pretty rude "sperm" in the thread title.

And then it escalated. And someone had a go at me - me! - for my "cringe-worthy" thread title.

And now we are all like sniggering schoolgirls apparently.

I really should do some work actually but I keep getting drawn back in!

Thread about rubbish thread titles

OP posts:
sazzybee · 22/02/2007 16:30

Ooh mossy - I've studiously avoided getting into rows on MN but I'm in the mood for a bit of a ruck. Perhaps I'll join in

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 22/02/2007 16:37

Oh it's sorted itself out now!

You should have been there half an hour ago it proper kicked off!

I too try to avoid rows but when someone insults your sense of humour, well, it's just not on is it?

OP posts:
muppetisacat · 22/02/2007 16:44

Crikey... just read through that thread... well done for sticking up for yourself mossy!

Foxy - glad you enjoyed Bocketts farm - we love it there. Mostly I lie awake wondering what it will be like to have a c-section but I also wonder how i'll push the baby out if i don't get the c-section. Am rubbish at being pg and rubbish at giving birth and my babies mostly choose rubbish ways of exiting the departure lounge...

I am in need of an injection of confidence!

sazzybee · 22/02/2007 16:45

Blimey! I had no idea! And they accuse us of being emotional and unreasonable

foxabout2pop · 22/02/2007 17:30

Moss

Just gulped some minty sperm

Muppet - try a glass of wine and crap TV at 2am, it works a treat

Seriously though - there is so much to worry about as none of us know how the births will go, but we'll all soon be out the other side, with our LOs in arms

divastropwantstodrop · 22/02/2007 17:34

moss-been there,posted lots about sperm

right, suppose i better go and bath the monsters...have to follow my nose to find dd2

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 22/02/2007 17:41

My friend with the huggy hubbie had a baby this morning, all went well and they are both fine 10lb though [ouch]. Ok off to have a look at that thread. I'm in a foul mood and am spoiling for some argry bargy.
