Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 48th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 47th grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 61st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread <a class="break-all" href="//onwww.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/2588689-we-re-still-teething-trying-to-wean-and-our-babies-just-won-t-go-to-sleep-when-we-re-trying-to-js-for-another-one-it-s-just-mumming-no-11" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

How far along are you Corgi? Good luck for the growth scan!
I did the same as you are planning re mat leave & holiday with my first and it worked perfect. Was ready to finish but as DS was a week late it was more than enough time waiting at home!

corgi88 · 13/04/2017 17:26

29 weeks tomorrow and all looking good so far Smile
Ah glad 37 weeks worked for you! Just don't want to go off too soon as I feel sure that baby will be late (i am, for everything) as my mum was 2 weeks late with all 4 of us.... No way to tell though eh?
Hope you all have a cracking Easter weekend and eat lots of mini eggs

SockQueen · 15/04/2017 22:19

Congrats on the exam corgi! Star One of the GP ones?

I recovered from the mastitis, only to then get cellulitis in the other boob last week! Thankfully I wasn't as poorly with that, just bloody sore, and the Abx seem to be doing the trick so I'm hoping that's the last of it.

Have all the family round this weekend for Easter, and took Socklet to meet some of my aunts/uncles/cousins at a party this evening. Think he found it a bit overwhelming, but did manage to get some smiles out of him, and then got overtired so screamed most of the way home, poor squidge. Fast asleep now though, fingers crossed he stays that way!

TractorComesFirst · 18/04/2017 17:58

How is everyone doing this week?

That's me 5.5 weeks and I finally got round to making a doctors appointment for Thursday. It doesn't really seem to be sinking in that I'm pregnant and my only symptoms are sore boobs and insomnia. Confused

ScottishLady7 · 20/04/2017 23:36

Hello! I fell off mn a bit but just thought I'd pop in :)

Nice to hear things are going well corgi! Was the exam the CSA?? When do you find out?
I'm good, 22 weeks now and EXHAUSTES! A&E is tiring... I've decided to start mat leave from about 35 weeks- the commute and 12 hour shifts are a killer! Much earlier than I'd like but at least there will be plenty of time to nest :)

Welcome tractor, I hope all goes/went well at the drs!

corgi88 · 22/04/2017 23:14

Scottish it was indeed my CSA and i passed! Yay!! No more exams ever Grin thanks for the Star sock. Socklet sounds so cute! How old is he now??
Urgh Scottish cannot imagine doing A&E while pregnant - you poor thing. 35 weeks is wise, and remember to go off earlier if you are really struggling!
Tractor hang in there, the first trimester goes so slowly....

Starting to think might actually have to start buying baby stuff and stop being too scared of jinxing myself how did you decide what pram/car seat to get?!?! So many and so bewildering and so expensive....

SockQueen · 23/04/2017 10:57

He's 7 months today! Don't know how that has happened, time seems to be going faster the closer we get to the end of my leave. Generally he's an awesome little squish, but seems to have forgotten how to sleep this week - has gone from one wake-up to 4/5 and I'm breaking!

Travel systems are a nightmare to choose! I got given a Maxi Cosi car seat by one of the consultants at work (second hand but known history so I felt ok about it) so needed a travel system compatible with that (most are, with the right adaptors, though the website doesn't admit this, so it's worth asking!). Then a friend said she'd lend me her carrycot from her Mamas and Papas system if I wanted, so we went there and chose a compatible frame to work with our freebies! We have a Sola2 MTX, and I really like it. It's not the prettiest, and it's quite hefty even when folded, but very manoevreable (sp?!) and good for sending S to sleep! I'm not sure where you are in the country, but lots of people recommend In-Car Safety Centre for car seats, there's one in Milton Keynes and one somewhere in Essex. Mothercare also do lots and will fit it for you.

TriJo · 26/04/2017 10:32

Corgi Think about what you need - do you need something light and easy to fold? Do you need something that's sturdy enough to stand up to off road walking/jogging? Do you drive most of the time or use public transport frequently? Do you plan to babywear most of the time and only use a buggy occasionally? Do you want parent facing?

We live in a first floor apartment with no lift in an inner London borough. We have a Baby Jogger City Mini that we got secondhand - the quick fold is absolutely fantastic for us. I also use a sling a lot - Connecta for the nursery run though C is not far away from outgrowing the baby size for front carries.

corgi88 · 28/04/2017 15:37

thanks ladies! We are in a house in suburb of the far far North (brrrr), right next to a park with lots of trails and we tend to drive most places... does this mean I can get some kind of tank?!
thinking for now we might just get a carseat and baby-wear while they are small.... christ so much to think about and I have been too scared of jinxing anything to even think of buying stuff before now...

corgi88 · 28/04/2017 15:38

oh yeah babywearing! where do you even start with that? a wrap? what kind? a baby bjorn?! aaaah

TractorComesFirst · 28/04/2017 17:55

I wouldn't recommend a baby Bjorn. They aren't brilliant for baby's hips. Try and find out if you have a sling library or sling consultant near you. I went to one when my Ds was about 9 months old and got some fab advice and a lovey carrier on loan for the summer.

TriJo · 28/04/2017 18:23

I have a Connecta, hubby has a Manduca. We used a basic stretchy wrap until C was around 6 months old.

TractorComesFirst · 28/04/2017 19:55

The one I hired was a connecta! Loved it.

SockQueen · 28/04/2017 23:07

We started with a Close Caboo which is a slightly more structured "stretchy" sling and was great when Socklet was smaller. They say the max weight is something like 13kg, but he was starting to feel too big for it by the time he was about 4-5 months and ~7kg. That was only borrowed from a friend though, and I had to return it, so now I use a (also borrowed) Baby Bjorn One, which is more hip-friendly than their standard carrier, but I'm still not a huge fan. Our local sling library is not the most helpful though, so I haven't been able to try any others out.

Although I like baby-wearing, there are a few practicalities to think about - most importantly that it means you don't have anywhere to put the baby down! We realised this when I smugly carried DS around the local shopping centre, then went to a restaurant for lunch and didn't really know what to do with him! They do have high chairs but he was far too small for that. After I dropped noodles on his head trying to eat with him still in the sling I gave up and DH and I took turns holding him.

TractorComesFirst · 01/05/2017 18:58

Booking in appointment with the midwife for me tomorrow Grin

jellypi3 · 04/05/2017 15:17

well it appears I am back for round 2....

TractorComesFirst · 04/05/2017 18:05

Hi jelly! It's quite quiet around here.

SockQueen · 04/05/2017 19:56

Hi and congrats jelly! Hope you are feeling ok!

I've got a sodding boob infection AGAIN. Not true mastitis, "just" cellulitis but I feel like shite. On antibiotics again, just waiting for them to kick in. Met up with some of my NCT group today and one of them is already pregnant again! Shock I don't think I can bear the thought at the moment.

Hope booking in goes ok Tractor - though it's mostly quite boring and lots of form-filling it's nice to feel like you're "in the system."

FuzzyOwl · 12/05/2017 21:16

Hello everyone

It's very quiet on here. What's going on?

TractorComesFirst · 13/05/2017 07:35

Hey Fuzzy I'm just counting down to my 12 week scan on 7th June. Feeling so knackered just now with DS to run around after too!
What's new with you?

FuzzyOwl · 13/05/2017 14:21

Hey Tractor my viroid is almost seven months now, which has flown by! Tentatively ttc again and waiting to test now. Hopefully the time until your scan goes quickly and DS starts to allow you some rest. My older child is constantly on the go and it is exhausting even when not pregnant!

corgi88 · 23/05/2017 22:44

Howdy all! I wrote a really long post last week then lost it and was too disheartened to type it all out again...anyway hope you're all doing well. I'm worrying again because my fundal height has gone static according to midwife - have growth scan booked for Thursday and obviously panicking about something awful happening.... The baby seems quite happy and wriggly though so I'll just have to stay calm I guess....

Have bought car seat and base, plus found a nice second hand bugaboo on eBay which should hopefully arrive by end of the week - so just in case baby does end up being induced early at least we have most of the things....

Sorry I've been so quiet - hopefully once mat leave starts I will get more of a chance to come on and chat!

pretzelpieces · 28/05/2017 22:20

Hello? Any grads about?

pretzelpieces · 28/05/2017 22:22

The stats sheet looks a bit neglected Grin Grin
