Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 48th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 47th grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 61st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread <a class="break-all" href="//onwww.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/2588689-we-re-still-teething-trying-to-wean-and-our-babies-just-won-t-go-to-sleep-when-we-re-trying-to-js-for-another-one-it-s-just-mumming-no-11" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Thank you Sock! My baby finally arrived, he was born yesterday morning and he's perfect 😍 I got through the birth ok but unfortunately I now have a suspected infection so I'm still in hospital. Frustrating because the visiting rules are strict and we're dying to take him home and show him off!

SockQueen · 11/03/2017 22:43

Hurray! Congratulations! Flowers Star Cake

Hope you are feeling ok and any infection buggers off soon so you can go home.

ScottishLady7 · 12/03/2017 10:04

Woohoo! Congrats name!!!

ChatEnOeuf · 12/03/2017 11:09

Congratulations! Lovely news. Hope the infection buggers off soon so you can enjoy mumming :)

corgi88 · 12/03/2017 15:19

Lala198 · 12/03/2017 19:36

Name congratulations!!!!! You did a baby!

Hopefully you can go home soon, I hope it's nothing serious.

NameChange30 · 16/03/2017 02:29

Thanks so much everyone!

I was relieved to go into labour naturally - I was 41+4 and wondering how long I'd be able to put off getting induced. In true JS style, I did have sex with DH just hours before going into labour, so maybe that helped things along!

It was a relatively quick labour - I woke up just after midnight with strong cramps, and he was born at 10.36am. I'd been hoping to give birth in the midwife-led unit (which has a birthing pool in every room) but had to go to the delivery unit because of meconium in the waters. Labouring on a bed strapped to a monitor was definitely not my ideal! But I did manage a vaginal birth with just gas and air, and managed to avoid an epidural as I'd hoped. Baby was big - 9lb4 - and his shoulder got stuck at the very end but they got him out sharpish and thankfully he was (and is) fine.

Luckily the infection wasn't too bad, I felt much better after the first dose of antibiotics, it just meant that I had to stay in hospital for a few days which was hard. We got discharged on Monday and we were so glad to get home. And the cats were pleased to have us back although they're not sure what to make of the new arrival Grin DH and I are completely besotted though!

corgi88 · 16/03/2017 14:29

Aww name glad you are home now! Great birth story and what a huge baby! And well done on staying true to your js'ing origins Grin are you boob or bottle feeding?

25 weeks tomorrow....eeek!

NameChange30 · 16/03/2017 22:11

Thank you corgi Smile
I'm breastfeeding and it seems to be going well, touch wood! The midwives in hospital helped me to get started and he got the hang of it pretty quickly. Apart from the sleep deprivation (!) I'm really enjoying it. His milk-drunk face is adorable 😍
My plan is to do a bit of expressing at some point so that DH and others can feed him when I want/need a break. Not worrying about that just yet though.

Congratulations on getting to 25 weeks, that's 2/3 of the way!

How is everyone else doing?

NameChange30 · 16/03/2017 22:11

(Well not quite 2/3 but nearly...)

Lala198 · 18/03/2017 07:08

It sounds like you're getting on brilliantly name Smile** long may it continue! I felt like I'd been hit by a bus for a month or so at the start!

Corgi that's awesome, how do you feel?

ChatEnOeuf · 20/03/2017 11:03

Glad it's going well, Name

I did a baby!! MicroChat arrived just before 5:30 am on 14th - 35+5 via emergency section as the wee mite wasn't coping with labour. Back home and boobing like a pro. So relieved!

NameChange30 · 20/03/2017 13:25

Oh my goodness Chat congratulations! Smile How are you both? Must be doing well if you're back home already? Tell us more, boy or girl, birth weight?

corgi88 · 20/03/2017 15:14

chat i have been thinking of you! So so delighted for you and also so relieved Smile Star please update us on more microchat details as and when you get a chance! Hurrah!!!!

ChatEnOeuf · 20/03/2017 16:19

Thanks! Little girl, 5lb 9oz (2.52kg) :)

Seems to be doing well - DD1 was so unhappy with us being in hospital and we really weren't getting anything there that we couldn't at home, so home we came. I'm quite battered and bruised, emotionally labile and a wee bit tired, she is a little star.

NameChange30 · 20/03/2017 17:18

Aw take care of yourself chat. Hope your DH/DP is taking care of you as well as the girls.

I'm feeling achy and feverish Sad Hope it passes as I was recovering very nicely (considering the exhaustion!)

corgi88 · 23/03/2017 15:05

Wonderful news chat. Are any photos forthcoming on fb group? Smile
Name i hope you are feeling better!
London we haven't heard from you in a while, i hope you are ok.
I am getting my knickers in a twist about mat leave : when to go off, how to predict how tired I'll be, etc etc . I've felt very well so far so I'm not sure when to go off - worst case scenario would be finishing at 36 weeks then going 2 weeks overdue! I would go spare at home. Thoughts ladies?

NameChange30 · 23/03/2017 16:58

Yes I've been wondering about London too, hope you're ok.

I'm feeling better thanks corgi, it was actually mastitis and I felt terrible, but I saw a doctor who prescribed antibiotics (yet more - I'd only just finished the course for my suspected uterine infection) and they do seem to have helped.

About when to go on maternity leave... I was 36+3 on my last day and didn't give birth until 41+4. I was going crazy at the end but I think I would still have if I'd finished work later - I was just so sick of being pregnant and waiting for him to arrive! I don't regret stopping when I did because I was feeling exhausted and my head wasn't in the right place for work. I guess everyone is different and you might feel different. Is there any possibility for flexibility with your end date e.g. starting official maternity leave at (say) 37 or 38 weeks, and then using annual leave to finish sooner if you feel you need to nearer the time? That's what I did.

ChatEnOeuf · 23/03/2017 17:32

I'll tag you in the FB pic, Corgi :)

I was ushered out at 33w first time around (would have been a new middle grade for about two weeks...) which worked quite well, allowing us to move house at 35w before DD1 arrived at 37w.

This time I stopped at 34+w, made excuses to go in and sort admin out for a couple of days and went into hospital at 35w. I was getting fairly regular tightenings on WR by this stage! DD2 arrived at 35+5 - I would have gone mad with another 4-6w at home, although more boxes would have been unpacked first time around if I had those extra weeks.

SockQueen · 24/03/2017 21:55

I finished at 37 weeks and did go to 42 weeks. I did go quite crazy at home but I couldn't have stayed on longer - I was exhausted, not sleeping well, starting to get pitting oedema when standing for long periods and struggling with the physical aspects of the job - leaning over the top of the bed for airways, manual handling etc. My last case was a EMCS on a lady less pregnant than I was, and confirmed that I was stopping at the right time! It depends a lot on how physical your job is, and how you're feeling by the end.

NameChange30 · 26/03/2017 08:51

Happy Mother's Day, everyone! Hope you all get spoiled Smile

Is there a JS postgrads thread btw?!

SockQueen · 30/03/2017 15:22

I think there is, Name, but I've never been on it, think it's pretty quiet. Most of us are on the FB group - if you want in then PM one of the grads.

My mothers' day was pretty shitty - got mastitis Friday/Saturday, was really unwell with fever, shaking, vomiting, hallucinations etc, started antibiotics but was still really poorly on Sunday so had to get MiL to come and help with Socklet as I couldn't get out of bed. Supreme irony that I spend my first mothers' day with a disease caused by mothering, which meant I could hardly actually look after my baby myself! Feeling much much better now though, and hopefully Socklet will forgive me for abandoning him...

NameChange30 · 30/03/2017 17:17

Oh goodness you poor thing Sock. I too had mastitis and felt terrible but I don't think it was quite as bad as yours. Glad you're feeling better now.

TractorComesFirst · 12/04/2017 16:02

Hey viroids. Dipping a tentative toe in the water here. Got my bfp yesterday and i estimate my DD to be 15th December so that makes me just over 4 weeks. Feeling fab so far but not sleeping great. Didn't help last night when I dreamed I was miscarrying and there was blood everywhere Confused

corgi88 · 12/04/2017 17:07

hello tractor! welcome!
ahhh the miscarriage dreams - never fun. but completely normal! keeping gx for a sticky one for you.
sorry I have been very quiet of late - had big exam (now passed, phew) but now panicking about other work stuff. finally decided to start mat leave at 39 weeks but take annual leave 2 weeks before so I'll go off at 37 weeks. . . but my job isn't as demanding as sock's!
hope you're feeling better btw sock!
off for a growth scan tomorrow - because of my heart shaped womble and low PAPPA. gx all will be normal...
hope you're all doing OK! scottish how's tricks?
