Thanks mumofthree I was wondering what would be different, and I might get more scans Smile I can't believe they let you go ten days over!

Not sure about the holiday yet, it's to Disney for two weeks and temperatures are meant to be very high (40+) so realistically we will have to postpone it and lose the deposit, unfortunately DH already told the children already so they will be disappointed. Not sure having a little brother or sister will be as exciting for them Blush

Hello fcuk and Walker! Congratulations! Star

haveacupoftea · 01/11/2016 20:54

Hey! More Newbies hoorah!

Exhaustion has hit back With A vengeance I'm struggling to make it through the day.

I used cloth from 1 year with my son so intend to use them from birth this time, I only ever used cheapie pockets although nothing ever worked at night not cloth or disposable he pissed through everything! And amazing dh managed them too I thought it was going to be a battle but he found them easy!

Junebaby definitely make sure you reschedule your trip, NZ is incredible. We're going for new year, DH is a kiwi so we visit quite often. This will be our last trip with just one child to wrangle. I have no idea how we'll manage next time with a very lively toddler and a baby!

Joy388 · 01/11/2016 22:03

Thanks mojitos x

All this talk about cloth nappies makes me realise that because I'm so concerned about the pregnancy being ok, I haven't even started to consider the practicalities of the baby part. If next scan is good news, I need to start some research! Grin

I had no tears mumofthree and just used gas and air with dc2 and has and air plus birthing pool with dc3. With both dc2 and dc3 I was home within 4 hours of fixing birth. I would always listen to medical advice and I totally understand that every birth is different. I suppose part of me is worried about getting to the hospital in time and having somebody to look after dc3 cos he is little and dc1 because he has a significant disability. I'm sure it will all work out when the time comes.

themoonandsixpence · 02/11/2016 04:51

Mommytobe2017 I had an internal scan at 5w+6d and it was fine the sonographer was really gentle and she had a student with her that was also fine (although I could tell she was more worried about moving the probe to quickly). It's nothing like the device they use for smears...if it was there was no way I would have wanted to lay on that couch a second longer.

Hopefully your experience will be just as pleasant.

element19 · 02/11/2016 07:53

Have called in sick again, the vomming is too frequent (and noisy!) now. At least I have my booking in appointment today so hopefully can discuss if medication is needed, eugh. Back to bed for a bit now...

Sorry for those so sick, baby & element

This morning I'm ok, I've emptied the bins, emptied the cat litter tray, sorted washing, dirty and clean, and washed up and dried up. I've eaten breakfast and usually I literally sit in the chair until I have to leave!! Feel so productive today!!

10 weeks today

MrsPotatoHead80 · 02/11/2016 09:00

Well done Mum, I wish I was more like you. Yesterday I fell asleep at 5pm, woke up at 7:30 when DH & DD came home from football, transferred myself to bed & slept until the alarm went off this morning! Apparently I got up for a couple of loo visits in the night but I don't remember at all.
I do feel a bit better for it this morning...which was lucky because there was no milk this morning & I had to hot foot it to the shop so we could have breakfast.

Anyone else being a shit parent to existing children? I just don't have the energy to argue at the moment so DD's been eating pop tarts for every meal veging in front of the TV Blush

Monkeyandthebear · 02/11/2016 09:17

Today I am 6+0 and my body has seemed to realise this and I have had two quick runs to the toilet as I thought I was going to be sick. Managed not to be but not holding out hope for the full day. Thought I had nausea a bit up until now but nothing compared to this morning.

Mooseville · 02/11/2016 09:24

I do feel as though a fog of exhaustion has lifted and I've tentively got a bit more energy - at least until about 6.30! Hoping it stays that way! Then again getting worried as to why I don't feel rough - my body just can't win! Grin

I really need to tell work but I keep getting nervous about everyone at work knowing before the scan and before my actual friends! I just know once I say something it'll spread around within days!! Plus I just don't know how to broach the subject with my manager! Not sure when I turned into such a wuss!

Monkeyandthebear · 02/11/2016 09:31

Mooseville I am the same. Working for a new boss and don't really want to have that conversation with him. I have told one colleague as I work in a food factory and want to make sure I am not at risk or our product at risk. Hoping to get to Christmas and take the time off in between so I don't actually have to tell until 14 weeks, but might need to tell them to get time off for the scan. We are not allowed time off at that time of year so unless I tell them it is no time off. I think I am going to tell Hr first.

oliversmummy26 · 02/11/2016 09:33

Good morning all!

I think I'll probably be consultant led (booking in next Tuesday 8th), as my DS was 9lbs 13oz 4 years ago and I ended up having an emergency c-section at 7cm, due to failure to progress and baby being in distress. I had an awful labour - was induced and DS didn't arrive until 3.5 days later!

I am definitely going to push for an elective section, I am terrified of being induced again and the same thing happening Sad

6+1 today

VeganMama83 · 02/11/2016 09:41

Haven't even thought about whether I'll be high or low risk this time! DS1 was emcs due to RFM and I was classed as low rish through the preg altho did have high BP at end due to work stress!

DS2 preg was classed as high risk due to DS1 blood sugar issues at birth and SCBU stay plus my BP and high BMI (it was 33 at booking in)

I'm hoping as I have the same midwife and she is lovely that I will be considered on grounds now rather than past as I've lost a shit tonne of weight, have a very healthy BMI, eat well, exercise daily and my VBac with DS2 went well, had some internal tears but nothing terrible.

Even if I'm high risk I still know my rights and know they can't force anything. No way am I being strapped down to a bed being monitored for the duration this time! Ideally want a water birth with just G&A and want to stay active if pool not available!

Another tentative newbie!

Done seven tests so far & all positive but in denial due to complete lack of symptoms. Flowers to those who are feeling rough.

Think I'm about 6+2 and not able to see a doctor for another two weeks so considering a self referral to get the ball rolling.

oliversmummy26 · 02/11/2016 10:03

I'm hoping to not have to tell work until after Christmas too, I'll be 16 weeks by then and have had all scans and results hopefully.

Only thing is I'm very low on holiday, so depending on when scan date is I may have to tell my line manager to get time off for the scan - I know he'll be fine about it though and won't tell anyone until I'm ready, but would rather keep it to ourselves as long as we can - I want to tell DS first Smile

oliversmummy26 · 02/11/2016 10:06

Also, anyone else finding underwired bras really uncomfortable? I hate non-wired bras, they make me look like I have 1 long boob! so trying to avoid them as long as possible, but I might have to give in soon...

Any suggestions for places to get pretty maternity bras??

NappingRabbit · 02/11/2016 10:25

All going well I should be low risk, I think. First labour was 4-5 hours, no pain relief, normal delivery. Only intervention was an episiotomy at the end because they forced me on a monitor when I finally got into the delivery room (fully dilated) and thought his heart rate was dipping. It wasn't, it was the monitor losing bloody contact. So I pushed for 5 mins then they insisted on rushing him out. Home birth for me this time so I can do things on my own terms. I obv wouldn't do anything that might risk baby's health but I really don't feel it was necessary last time.

I'm planning to keep quiet at work until around mid January (19 weeks). I'm away from Boxing Day for a couple of weeks so just have to last til Christmas without anyone guessing. I am getting so bloated in the evenings I have a mini 'bump' but I think careful dressing means I should get away without telling. Baggy jumpers and scarves will be my friends. Good time of year for it!

NappingRabbit · 02/11/2016 10:26

oliversmummy Hot Milk do lovely maternity/nursing bras, worth a look. I just went with M&S last time as I didn't want to spend lots when sizes might change a few times, but I only ended up going up one size during pregnancy.

oliversmummy26 · 02/11/2016 10:37

Thanks Napping I'll try them out, I've been looking at Jojo Maman Bebe too for nightwear and am finding it really difficult to not buy it all!!

My sister asked me to be her bridesmaid at her wedding in August next year yesterday Grin which is very exciting! Means I'll have a baby at the wedding so DH will be busy! And also may have to take a two week old on her hen do!! lol Smile

I am also hideously bloated from about lunchtime onwards, I'm not sure my jeans will fit me soon...I swear I look like I'm about 20 weeks already!

furryminkymoo · 02/11/2016 12:28

Bluergh, I feel so sick and have an upset tummy, I hope that this isn't food poisoning, does anyone else had diarrhea in early pregnancy?
