Morning all.

Happy Birthday Char!!

Katy, love you for not knowing what sp? meant!! So honest!

Liath, sorry to hear your dh is still poorly. My dh got sick after having mussels a while ago - not pleasant!

Geordie, hope you sell the car soon.

Cannot remember a bloody thing now!

I am not in a good frame of mind today. Slept appallingly - awake at 1.30 for about an hour and moved in to the spare bedroom and then awake again at 4.15 for about half an hour, and then up at 7.00. Becky was a pita this morning - soooo obnoxious. I did feel sad when I dropped her off though at preschool. All the children were sat in a big group listening to stories, and she just didn't want to join in. She hates coming in to big groups of people, as do I. She is v sociable, but in smaller groups only. I stood downstairs and watched her on the CCTV that they have in Reception. I could of cried.

Also feeling pissed off with work - particularly one person who is being so negative and unhelpful! Feel like leaving NOW!

Sorry ladies, what a huge rant that was.

Hope everyone is feeling ok.

Hugs and love, xx

1b3 - hope you're OK and manage to get some sleep tonight.
GMM - it's Esh Winning we live in, just 10 mins away from Esh.
flumpootle, we have a particular house we want to buy, as we can't do anything until we sell we are worried we'll lose it, especially as we haven't seen anything even close to this one in the areas we want to live. The other extreme I suppose is the situation you're in, and I don't envy you at all . Are you still tied into sole agency with the one you're with, or could you get others involved? As a last resort, would you consider a bridging loan, or selling to one of these companies that will buy your house at a lower price (probably much lower so not worth it!)
I know what you mean about tidying, although I'm sure it's easier with a fairly small house and no dcs! As a 'one off' for people coming round I stuff things into drawers, unfortunately it's stayed like that, so we have stuff in stupid places!
For us, it wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't move in the next year, but would want to take the house off the market etc as don't want people coming to look round in April / early May!

geordiemacminx · 13/02/2007 11:32

It was esh winning I meant, didnt know there was a place called esh too.... I used to know a bloke called Wayne that lives in EW..

Katy44 · 13/02/2007 11:43

I see! Yes, Esh is between Bearpark and Langley Park, if that helps?
Esh Winning is bigger than I originally thought - there's someone on the Durham meet up thread who lives here. Odd to think I've probably seen her hundreds of times without knowing it!

geordiemacminx · 13/02/2007 11:59

I dont really know that area at all... I frequent the travellers rest at witton gilbert when i'm at mums as thet do nice food, and I've been to diggerland too.

Katy44 · 13/02/2007 12:29

Ooh I go to the traveller's rest on regular work lunches! I'm the one who has the aubergine, mushroom and cheese wrap without the aubergine - bleurgh

Katy44 · 13/02/2007 12:30

Have never been to diggerland but think when bump is a bit older that might have to change!
DH use to work in a timber yard so doesn't see the appeal

flumppootle · 13/02/2007 12:39

Must have jinxed myself. Agent has just phoned with a veing for today and haven't tidied up yet - YIKES.
Off to bleach house, have a nice afternoon.
We are sole agency by the way, it stinks.

AngeG · 13/02/2007 12:43

Hello

Sorry haven't had time to catch up so far today

Captain Dippy has asked me to update you all...I have been in contact with her via text.

She went into the unit last night to see someone and the pain she has is muscular-skeletal and her iron levels are low. Think she has been doing too much. The baby is fine and still moving loads and has a strong heartbeat so her mind has been put at rest.
She is going to the doctors today to get tablets and pain killers. I have issued strict instructions that she needs to take it a bit easier. Her girls are at nursery this afternoon, so she is having a relaxing lunch and afternoon and is not sure she will make it onto here to update.

Hope everyone else ok. Will catch up later. xx

Katy44 · 13/02/2007 12:45

Good luck flumpootle -must be the best way to guarantee a viewing!

Katy44 · 13/02/2007 12:47

Thanks AngeG, if you text her again please pass on my best. Glad the baby is fine.

flumppootle · 13/02/2007 12:50

Get well hugs cd

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 13/02/2007 12:54

Thanks Ange, please pass on my best wishes to her.x

9weeksandcounting · 13/02/2007 12:59

Happy birthday Char

Big hugs to CD xxxxx

Went to see midwife this morning - a different one to usual - much more chatty and friendly. she said that they wouldn't really want to give me anything for depression as it would mask the cause - and that on the days I get really fed up should go and do something for myself - which I know is true and don't really want to take anything.

Baby is measuring 34 weeks - am 31 weeks! So she has booked me into see the consultant on the 1st March to chat about size and delivery options - she seemed quite supportive of a section because have had one before and ds2 was sooo big and the spd - she seemed to think (along the same lines as me) - that if went for natural delivery and he was big and back to back again, I may end up having an epidural which means on back which means difficult delivery for OP baby and possible section at the end - last time had ventouse with 3 people on end of it tugging for england! so a lot to think about over next few weeks! But do feel reassured.

Had a quick chat about sterilisation aswell and she said that while it is less effective having it done during section as tubes are enlarged, it would be better than going back to have another operation later on - or could go for coil and have more time to think about it later. More to think about!

Need to go make cakes for cake sale tomorrow - and valentines bunting to decorate the foyer at playgroup...busy bee!

Big hugs to everyone feeling down

9weeksandcounting · 13/02/2007 13:16

also - went to sainsburys on way home to get milk and bought myself two pairs of shoes and the Hamiltons were there too - tried not to stare but my friend was on next checkout to them and couldn't ignore her! My BIL was on countdown a few years ago with them and he sid they were lovely.

HUUUNNNNNGGGGRYYY - so hungry in fact that I feel like I'm going into labour!

Birdiebump · 13/02/2007 13:25

9weeks - hugs to you - lots of options to think about re the birth. I think I may actually be in the same position although have not really faced up to it yet. I saw a mw for a "quickie" last night as had not seen anyone for a while due to flu. Unlike you, this one was definitely not as good as my usual darling mw but heigh ho. She was not sure of my LO's position but thinks she is still breech, oblique and posterior! She was twittering on about doing the hands & knees thing and caesarians etc. As I have never had a C-section and my last birth was so straightforward (although DS1 was a posterior, ventouse then forceps nightmare) I really can't get my head round there being any problems with this one and keep thinking she will just turn round and get beautifully in position when she's ready. It's annoying, I'm not seeing the consultant until 37 weeks, and though it's unlikely, she could be out by then!

Not happy today anyway - got letter from DS1's (the 14 year old) school saying he has a detention for not handing in homeworks. I quiz him about this every day but he is such a lazy little bugger it's like wading through treacle. God is he getting a talking-to when he gets home today.... We are in all sorts of trouble over money and houses and DH's job may need to change totally because we can't move out of expensive bloody Devon because..... of DS1's bloody school! It's funny, I'm not too bothered about children changing primary schools because they usually adapt so easily but DS1 is in a fab secondary school and has just started his GCSE'S and even DH (who is not his real dad) would never dream of taking him out in the middle of things so to speak. I'm going to threaten it tonight though - his lazy attitude is driving me up the wall!!!

Sorry about that - total thread hijack really.....

Hugs to CD.

Katy44 · 13/02/2007 13:26

9weeks - is that how I'll know when I'm going into labour?!

Birdiebump · 13/02/2007 13:26

Cross-post 9weeks. I think the Hamiltons look like they're a lot of fun! Off for a bath now and then may hit M&S food store which is just across the road......

Katy44 · 13/02/2007 13:28

Birdiebump, not a hijack at all, it's what the thread's for!
Don't have any wise words, sorry (did I ever??) but just wanted to let you know I'm sorry you're having a bad day.

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 13/02/2007 13:47

9 weeks, sound like you had a very informative session with your mw which is great.

Yum yums by the way are like oblong donuts, and they are covered in a thin layer of icing. Lovely! Although I am finding doughy stuff gives me awful indigestion now, so will have to lay off them!

Birdie, sounds like you are having a bit of a cack time with one thing or another. I hope you can get to the bottom of things with ds1. Do you think he is feeling insecure about the new baby coming? Just grabbing at straws really. Hugs to you.

My ribs on the right hand side (round the back) ache like hell today - driving me mad!

maveta · 13/02/2007 14:31

Hugs to Captain Dippy Ange, if you can pass that on xx

Birdiebump - aaargh at dealing with a teen AND being pregnant! Hats off to you..

9 weeks - glad you got a whole load of info..maybe too much??! nice to know SOME of us are getting to see nice midwives!

SOSPL - That sounds like the pain that I´ve been getting for the last wee while. Have found that hanging over my exercise ball helps loads, if that helps.

Claricebean - yes, bananas are supposed to be great for sugar lows but they give me the most terrible indigestion. I do normally have something on me to eat and if I am walking or on the train or whatever then I can eat it, put my head down and wait for it to pass. The problem is that when I am driving I still have to stop and eat and let it pass and that feels scary and dangerous when I´m on the motorway..eeeek. Anyway, I can´t totally not drive as it isn´t practical so I am just staying away from motorways and taking smaller roads where possible which I can go slow on and easily stop if it were necessary. Sorry, that was a very boring reply to your post

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 13/02/2007 14:36

Hi Maveta, long time no see! Thanks for the tip re hanging over the birthing ball. My dh has a ball which he uses when he has back ache, and I think I will get him to inflate it and give it a whirl. It's really uncomfortable today.
Hope you are ok, and the weather in Majorca is gorgeous!

doginsantasgrotto · 13/02/2007 14:59

Hi everyone
Hugs to CD.
Happy birthday to Charnbump!
Can't believe how hungry I am all the time ... glad I am not the only one. was up at 3am this morning with a bowl of cereal!
I want some yum yums!
Hope everyone well today ... will pop back later.
x

maveta · 13/02/2007 15:49

The weather in Mallorca today is B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. it´s definitely the stuff of making people jealous! It´s been a bit grey and gloomy lately but today it´s been bright blue skies and about 20 degrees all day. [evil smiley]

geordiemacminx · 13/02/2007 15:52

Yep - I just been checking the weather in Barca - its about 19/20 over there too... whooo hooo.... I'm going to be in my flip flops!!!!
