We had our gender scan today. We are team pink! Beyond thrilled!! X

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 03/09/2016 21:12

Congratulations Carly Smile I'm getting a little.jealous of those finding out now! I made a.promise to hubby we'd have a surprise though.

Bisquick, my 16 week appointment. Was the same really. I won't hear heartbeat until around 28 weeks as I don't have a 24 week appointment with it being my third. Hoping the 20 week scan is nice and long!

Pudding01 · 03/09/2016 21:18

Aww congrats Carly! Smile Bet it's a great feeling when you find out.

I personally cannot wait to find out the sex of ours at the end of the month.

Is anyone else finding out or are you waiting for the surprise??

topmammy · 03/09/2016 21:29

Congrats Carly! Girls rule! Grin

Glad it's nothing serious London!

Sorry about your job situation Dreaming, it sounds pants for you. I'm sure there's every chance people will be just as supportive of your pregnancy there as they are at your current location though? Hope it turns out to be better than you think.

Hows everyone doing with their mood? Probably from lack of sleep/impending returning to work grumpiness but i'm Mrs Mood Swings at the moment. Feeling fed up and could cry at the drop of a hat one minute and feeling angry and short tempered the next. I'm sure I remember feeling a lot more chilled out last pregnancy. Wonder if I'm having a boy this time Hmm

LondonGirl83 · 03/09/2016 23:03

I'm not angry but I'm definitely weepy! Every minor emotion seems to elicit tears.

prettypinklady · 04/09/2016 00:16

Team blue!!! Smile

Bisquick · 04/09/2016 00:40

Thanks for sharing ladies. Makes me feel better knowing my experience isn't unique!

We found out it's a boy after our Harmony test. And it's our first, so I'm v unsure what to expect.

I've suddenly started feeling very hormonal and weepy at 16w. Hope that passes soon!

toBurpOrNotTo · 04/09/2016 07:45

Thanks for the suggestions twocats, keeping! I'll look into taxi rentals & also enquire with mw to see what could be a workaround. No way was I going to be walking home so soon after the delivery Smile

Mysterycat23 · 04/09/2016 07:48

dreaming sorry to hear that, what a pain. Hope it goes as smoothly as possible. At least you can look forward to leaving the (work) stress behind in a few months..

Bisquick sounds similar to the midwives I've seen, very brusque and if I was being understanding, I'd say they were in need of a holiday. The hospital staff have been more friendly though so I am hoping that's a good sign, after all it's during labour that a bedside manner is most vital... I think it's important if you have any questions to ask even if they seem busy and rude. I didn't ask any questions and ended up with a hematology appt that no one could tell me what it was for Hmm

Does anyone else find it bizarre that the info is kept written in a paper file we have to keep, when normally it's all on the computer file? One of the midwives wrote my blood type wrong and then wrote over it trying to correct it, it is not clear from the writing what it is! I should probably write a note on there myself?

toBurpOrNotTo · 04/09/2016 07:59

I was wondering that myself Mysterycat. What with today's day and age, surely they can maintain an electronic file and have us carry a credit card style ID card perhaps. WinkWould be so much simpler than lugging around bulky sheaf of papers or overwriting typo mistakes.

twocatsandatoddler · 04/09/2016 08:08

Mystery mine are all electronic actually, as my hospital has a new IT system and everything is done on the computer. But my community midwife at my GP writes her stuff in by hand as they're not on the same system - hospital is Cambs, I live in Herts.

It does mean that if my hospital labour ward closes (which they sometimes do when very full, it's a particular issue for this hospital) and I have to go somewhere else in labour, then another hospital wouldn't be able to access my notes!

Shellbell0403 · 04/09/2016 08:18

top I'm feeling abit nippy and emotional at times also.. the joys of hormones!

london hope you are OK!

Is anyone else having trouble getting a full nights sleep? I seem to wake up about 3/4 for the toilet and then can't get back to sleep or get comfortable again... seem to get aches and pains 😴

Daisydaisy18 · 04/09/2016 09:31

Yes Shellbell that's me too at the minute, can't get comfy on either side. Trying not to sleep in front as placenta is at front (my friend scared me about front sleeping) toss and turn all night and get aches and twinges... Then just as I get comfy I need a wee. It's a pain we live in an old cottage with a downstairs bathroom, I may have to get a bucket🙈
Also quite moody too I put it down to the end of the summer hols as I'm always the same. Very snappy with DH.

Evergreen17 · 04/09/2016 09:50

Carly team pink!!!!! Amazing!!!!! You were hoping for that a bit Smile

Topmammy I know teaching is awfully stressful but museum education depends on where you are as well. My job is so stressful right now because of all the cuts. We have to do more with less and I think i will go back for a but after maternity leave then quit.
Also I meet hundreds of people every day and 95% are lovely but some parents are awfully entitled. Working with the schools I have no issues with that apart from parents that come on the trio. But families... Brace yourself.
That being said, it is enjoyable and you dont take home half as much work as a teacher does this is certain.
But we work weekends and bank holidays and summers are looooong.

Keepingup that is amazing! How many weeks are you?

Bisquick I had a bad appointment too and cried!! Same thing. Blood pressure, urine and my bloods are not there. Lost somewhere!. Mine did use the doppler though with is the memory I am trying to hold on to. And no more appointments for almost 10 weeks. Not good is it.

Sorry about head london Sad

So I guess I am lucky we heard the heart as many havent. We also heard it through the scanner at 12 weeks
Both times super fast at 160 or just below.

Ha! A couple more for teAm blue there. I can't wait to find out what I have SmileSmileSmile

Evergreen17 · 04/09/2016 09:52

Shell I havent slept for hours straight for weeks now

Wee visits around 3 a night

Still no visible bump but order maternity clothes on H&M yesterday Smile

Shellbell0403 · 04/09/2016 09:58

evergreen i think you will have a girl 😀

wispaxmas · 04/09/2016 10:40

Ugh, sleep! I go to bed really early and don't wake up that much really, but I toss and turn all night it feels like. My Fitbit reckons I'm restless for Hal the night it seems.

Anyone who doesn't have one really ought to get a pregnancy pillow as it does make the hip aches and pains less of a problem. I got a cheap mothercare one last time that I've been using since about 10 weeks this time!

gumbootsandjandals · 04/09/2016 11:01

Hi ladies. Just place marking before I clean up toys before a house viewing. We've been back from ILs for half an hour and living room already trashed...

wispaxmas · 04/09/2016 11:46

Just a note- anyone wanting to join the FB group please do PM me your email address for the invitation. Ive just had an email saying I've got a couple messages, but I'm at work without a proper computer right now so I'm not ignoring you, I'll have to invite you this evening!

Evergreen17 · 04/09/2016 13:48

Shell first I thought boy but now I think maybe girl Grin ahhhh!
Wispa how anonymous is the group? I mean do people get to see that I have joined / do people in the group see my facebook pics and stuff? I like being anonymousBlush

gumbootsandjandals · 04/09/2016 14:02

ever none if your friends will know you're in the group, and no group members can see your profile, apart from any parts that are public ie profile pic.

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 04/09/2016 14:17

I'm 18+2 today Smile it was amazing. I'm not getting regular strong kicks but baby must have been really going for it. I do feel small movements every day now though, mostly in the evening x

twocatsandatoddler · 04/09/2016 14:32

evergreen it's a secret group so no one outside the group will be able to search for the group or see that you're a member - it's invisible to your friends.

And the other members of the group will only be able to see what you post in the group, so unless you 'friend' anyone if they click on your profile they'll only be able to see the same as anyone in the general public would be able to see, depending on your privacy settings.

twocatsandatoddler · 04/09/2016 14:33

Cross-post with gumboots!

GinIsIn · 04/09/2016 16:57

Hi all! Congrats Carly!

Diva - how are you settling in?! The packers are due here next weekend. I both feel absolutely panicked and stressed that nothing is done, and confused that technically there isn't actually anything for me to do!

16 week appointment was good - midwife said if she had to guess she'd bet money on this being a girl. Smile She did say they don't normally do the heartbeat but when I said I'd found it fine at home she said we may as well give it a go, but that I wasn't to worry or be disappointed if she didn't find it. She found it straight away though - it was amazing. Like a little cantering horse! Grin
