I'm growing a house mouse now! Which is easy to compare to seeing as my cat likes to bring in live mice as gifts. He brought in even more when my dd was first born for attention I think. It was virtually every night. I now completely understand the cartoons where people jump.on chairs, they totally make me want to do that when they're scurrying around.

I've got a clownfish wiggling inside me lol

Cloey, have you seen a maternity physio? They can be so helpful with that sort of stuff and also point you in the right direction for supports!

Cloeycat · 09/09/2016 18:12

MrsMushrooms is that something you can get on the NHS or is it private? To be honest I think physio is excessive at the moment, I will try getting some better back support. It seems to be only bad if I'm sitting at a desk or driving- my commute is 2 hrs each way when I am in the office. Walking and lying is fine.

I will talk to the midwife I should be due an appointment soon.

deuscat · 09/09/2016 21:04

Hi everyone

Great to hear of more scans. I had my 12 week scan today too and all was well. Due date brought earlier by a day to 21st March.

Hugh I'm also on aspirin due to having pre-eclampsia last time. My understanding is it helps bloody flow from placenta and might stop problems developing.

I'm consultant led this time and have a ton of appointments. 16 week midwife appointment next, and 16 week GTT same week. Then 20 week scan and consultant appointment. Then possibly a 28 week GTT. Growth scans at 28, 34 and 36 weeks. And BP checks twice a week from 30 weeks. Should keep me busy!

emonslemons · 09/09/2016 21:08

I'm also getting the spd and back pain early this pregnancy and will ask the midwife to refer me to physio at 4 month appt.

my spine feels like it could snap with one wrong move!

the physio gave me tubi grip in my last pregnancy which makes a tremendous difference. and also exercises which helped. so I hope I can get it under control. but to be fair I think they are just coping strategies as by the end I was hobbling about in so much pain. giving birth was a breeze....seriously!

their biggest advice was to rest and not exert yourself because tired muscles are weak muscles apparently.

have you considered a cranial osteopath? I think they are very gentle and safe generally. if your in London I highly recommend crista gali on porchester road, nearest tube being royal oak.

NameChange30 · 09/09/2016 21:27

Congrats to deus and anyone else who's shared good scan news since I last posted!

Today I went to the gym/pool for the first time in AGES Blush I just went for a gentle swim. It was a relief to find that I can still fit into my swimming costume! The swim was lovely and I felt fine... until I stepped out of the pool and suddenly felt very heavy and tired! I will keep going though as I know the exercise will do me good. I'll try not to look too wistfully at the jacuzzi and sauna as I walk past! Although I think a spa pool is ok as long as it's not too hot (there are 3 with different temperatures) - am I right about that?

SuperDuperJezebel · 10/09/2016 06:36

I think they're best avoided, everything I can find says not to risk it. I think it's about your core temperature being raised and if you're in the water it stays consistently higher.

charlybs · 10/09/2016 07:34

I googled this yesterday as my DH asked me about baths. Ideally water should be around 37C which is body temperature, 35C for hydrotherapy pools.

Happygojo86 · 10/09/2016 07:47

Apparently, a spa pool stays heated, whereas a normal bath cools. Although it's good to not over heat, I think it's more of an issue of pregnancy bp and you getting too hot and dizzy when you get out.

NameChange30 · 10/09/2016 11:12

The hottest spa pool is 37c (it feels like a proper jacuzzi) and the other two are 34c and 29c. 29c is the same temperature as the main pool so I definitely wouldn't get overheated in that one! (It feels cold if I'm not swimming.)

Cloey it's NHS and it's not as extreme as it sounds - I went on Thurs and just got loads of tips and info. They were so helpful!

MissClarke86 · 10/09/2016 19:54

Bought my first pair of maternity jeans today, so comfy.

Also bought my first item of baby clothing....I love foxes and couldn't resist!

Jojo Maman Bebe isn't cheap but do have some lovely gender neutral stuff.

NameChange30 · 10/09/2016 21:48

You inspired me to look at the JMB website and there is a sale! Buying all the things...

OP posts:
Cloeycat · 10/09/2016 22:36

Also now buying on the JMB sale. Part of me is superstitious about buying things too early but the other part of me that is vv excited is winning out at the moment.

MissClarke86 · 10/09/2016 22:58

Do I need to apologise to your bank accounts ladies? Grin

DaisyBank82 · 10/09/2016 22:58

I bought that fox babygrow too a few weeks ago! It's so cute!

MissClarke86 · 10/09/2016 23:08

It is, I love fox things... I have fox blinds in my kitchen too lol

SuperDuperJezebel · 11/09/2016 05:55

I think JoJo have a fox hoodie as well, I'm sure I took a photo of it from the catalogue to show my friend. Foxes have become an in joke since my mum came to visit me in the UK and found out how big a fox was, she thought they were roughly the same size as a squirrel!

I love anything with ears!

CatalinaFuckingWineMixer · 11/09/2016 08:02

Couldn't resist joining the JoJo spending spree! My maiden name was Shepherd so this called out to me straight away, my dad will love seeing baby in it.
