Holly there should be a little graph along with the measurement that shows where 1.5mm is for your dates - based on my graph yours would be about average at 12 weeks (which is good). The sonographer said that 3.5mm or over is most associated with chromosomal problems.

DottyA · 15/08/2016 20:16

Yep, I was told below 3.5 was normal too - so yours sound fine.

Holly1987 · 15/08/2016 20:24

Thanks ladies, I think i get that :) lol Wish they told me that on Friday! My other half hasn't celebrated this pregnancy yet as he's used to them going wrong after the first two loses bless him.

GinIsIn · 15/08/2016 20:27

1.5 is spot on for the NT test, and anything over 1:250 is fine for the bloods. Was really worried about mine, it was such a relief that it all came back low risk!

Readyfortwo · 15/08/2016 20:31

wonderlust it was me looking for gym clothes. Gap do a good range but I've decided I can't really justify it so have ordered some leggings from New Look & am hoping they're not too see through. Will let you know how I get on!

kiki I did Pilates & Swimming right up til the end last time. This time I was doing Body Pump before I got pg so have continued with that. For the first tri I hardly went to the gym at all, but been back at it since around 14 weeks. Mainly swimming but trying to do Pump once a week- I went this eve tho & it's def getting harder...hoping it was just the heat!

ready last time I bought a cheap pair of running leggings from TK Maxx in a large size so they fit under the bump, and wore them with a large non-maternity running top to start with and then a maternity t-shirt from New Look last time.

GinIsIn · 15/08/2016 20:59

My GP is a bit of a hippy, bless him- he teaches yoga in his spare time -and keeps banging on about how I MUST go to pregnancy yoga. But the thing is, I bloody hate yoga! I'm incredibly clumsy and just end up falling over. Do you think it matters if I don't do it?

Before getting pg I used to go running 3 times a week, and quite regularly did half-marathons. With the horrific nausea in the first trimester I haven't been for a run in 3 months so don't think I can start back up again now (not least because my boobs have shot up to an H Cup!!) but I am definitely planning to start swimming once the house move is out of the way next month, and I walk everywhere and always do at least 12000 steps a day.

FlipperSkipper · 15/08/2016 22:03

Mothercare have some maternity fitness clothes. My midwife had told me not to do anything more strenuous than walking or swimming due to my history of losses, which in disappointed about as I wanted to stay active, and walking is just an every day activity to me.

Is anyone here an 'older mum'? I'll be 38 when the baby is born and I feel quite anxious that I'm too old, that I'll find it too tiring, that my child will hate having older parents. We're not older parents by choice, we started ttc when I was 32!

topmammy · 15/08/2016 22:29

You're not old Flipper ! Smile You'll be fine I'm sure.

Those of you who have been in the group for a while might have already done this but I thought it might be interesting to share a little bit about ourselves like age/area we live in/first child or not? Only if you want to of course. I'll start...

I'm 15+3 and have been feeling baby moving the past few days, lovely! I look about 25 weeks pregnant to lol. I'm still using mfp this time around and its working pretty well. Have so far gained 4lb but 2lb of that was when I fell off the wagon for a week lol. I walk lots each day with the kids in the day and the dog in the evening. X

Bumps starting to come along nicely at 13+3, but it is all at the bottom, which doesn't surprise me when the sonographer said my little one is sat really low in my pelvis. So happy to finally start looking pregnant Smile

Currently 14+3. Have gained about 5-6lbs and have a definite bump now, but have always been very petite around the middle so not really surprised am showing quite a lot. Waiting nervously for 20 week scan now! When is everyone's booked in for?

divadee · 16/08/2016 06:34

flipper you are younger than me!!! I'm 39. So no not old at all!! Will be a few months off 40 when I give birth. This is baby number 2 for me but with a 19 year gap inbetween so it really is like a first baby again!

twocatsandatoddler · 16/08/2016 06:45

flipper the eldest in my NCT group last time was the same age as you (rest of us were 28-30) and she had the most straightforward pregnancy and birth of the five of us! And you wouldn't even know she was an 'older' mum when we all spend time together. 38 definitely not old in my opinion!

Morning,
Eczema outbreak today, could literally scratch my leg all day, but I won't. Only really got eczema in relation to stress before but apparently pregnancy hormones can make it worse, yay!

Morning all!

Yes, I'm still up 2-3 times a night and can only nod back off when I put my audio book on - good practice for when baby's here I think!

16 weeks today, 20wk scan end of Sept

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 16/08/2016 08:09

I'm finding it really hard to fall asleep before 12 lately, between 9 and 11 I can go to the loo about three times! I don't really go anymore than normal in the day but I seen to go loads at night. I wake up about twice for the toilet and my youngest wakes up once evert night still. We are normally all up for the day between 6 and 7 thanks to my eldest lol.

Hello fellow northwester flipper

Is anyone else already getting swollen feet? I'm 15+4 and for about a week mine have been swelling! I am on my feet pretty much all day everyday so not really surprised they've swollen but never had it this early. Was from about 25 weeks first time and 20 weeks last time. I have carried a lot of fluid both times so think it will be the same again. My belly was so big an tight last time it was.quit sore by the end!

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 16/08/2016 08:10

My 20 week scan is 19th september, I'll be 20+3 by then. Can't wait!

Naschkatze · 16/08/2016 08:28

Hi everyone, can I join you?

Had 12 week scan yesterday. 12+4 today. Due end of Feb so might go into March I suppose but I'm hoping not! Grin
