Marking my place. I feel so exhausted today, feel like I'm getting the flu, sore throat, headache, achy, no fun. Is anyone planning in reducing their working hours/ working from home over the next few months?

We were cutting down ivy yesterday and SIL mentioned (after I'd been at it for an hour) that it can cause allergic reaction, and had a stuffy nose straight after so now I'm worried! Anyone heard of that?

divadee · 15/08/2016 13:31

You can get pregnancy rhinitis piano which is a stuffy blocked up nose. I have had it. And in OH's pregnancy book for men it says about it. I have been using sterimar spray which the pharmacist (who was very heavily pregnant herself) recommended. It seems to work for me.

GinIsIn · 15/08/2016 14:14

divadee same here! Actually we have had to pay packers for our upcoming move because I just can't face doing any of it!

divadee · 15/08/2016 14:16

fenalla I have removal companies coming on weds and fri to quote. I am going to ask them to do 2 quotes. One including packing. Just so I can see the difference. If it's only 2-300 more I may say sod it and get them to pack!!!

twocatsandatoddler · 15/08/2016 14:23

divadee I moved at 17 weeks pregnant last time. We asked firms to quote excluding packing but a few said they would only be insured to move things they'd packed themselves so wouldn't do a quote for self-packing. So we ended up getting them to pack and it was the best decision - it's stressful enough moving without having to pack all the boxes yourself, especially when pregnant and working full time, as I was.

FriendlyGhost · 15/08/2016 14:34

I wasn't even pregnant when we last moved and I got the packing done for me. It wasn't much more because they included the price of boxes if they packed themselves. Also meant their insurance covered everything. Definitely worth it!

CeeCeeEnnEss · 15/08/2016 14:38

I feel very floof! Not much energy, not happy to be back at work after holiday and today is draaaagggiiinnng.

I'll mainly be waiting for Black Friday/Jan Sales for the big things, but I am going to the Morrisons Baby Event this week to stock up on consumables, I think.

Holly1987 · 15/08/2016 14:50

I'm moving house over the bank holiday & I can't help but feel we are so under prepared for what actually needs doing Confused

We're at Tribfest this weekend (booked before I found out I was pregnant) so having up squeeze everything around work. Safe to say with my lack of sleep from toilet trips, I'm exhausted!

But it's all worth it isn't it Smile Won't be decorating the nursery until after my 20 week scan though. In fact I don't think I'll be doing anything baby related until then.

GinIsIn · 15/08/2016 14:55

divadee - We got them to quote for both and the difference is about £400-500. Totally worth it I think! That includes dismantling and reassembling all our furniture, and they provide all the packing materials!

Bumblebee33 · 15/08/2016 15:00

Congrats on the scan Top! I have mine at noon tomorrow when I will be 13+2 by my dates. Can't come soon enough! Hope everyone is getting a nice dose of sunshine today, it's glorious here :)

LondonGirl83 · 15/08/2016 15:56

summer we already know- it's a girl. I'm not one to delay gratification. I figure it's a surprise whenever you find out.

top congrats!

kiki. I think you'll find yoga and Pilates boring initially but I think you should do them. I've always been super active doing high intensity workouts like spinning, half-marathons etc. but now I'm in my 30s adding in yoga and Pilates keeps injuries at bay. I slipped a disk last year and it was a wake up call. I think doing both will really help your body deal with the stress of pregnancy.

ScottishSnowflake · 15/08/2016 16:23

Congrats top!

Hi GGNew and welcome! There's quite a few first time Mums on here - I'm one of them Smile

LondonGirl83 · 15/08/2016 16:47

When we moved we paid for packing. If you can afford it it's the best money you'll spend as they also unpack. Good luck!

jpclarke · 15/08/2016 16:57

These threads really do move super quick!! I pulled out my bag of maternity clothes. But my jeans are all too big, I would get away with them but they would annoy the hell out of me. My thighs are skinnier since my last pregnancy although I weighed in last week at my appointment the same as previous pregnancies. I knew I needed to buy a few bits but it's annoying.

Evergreen17 · 15/08/2016 17:07

14 weeks today Grin
No bump
Still in my normal clothes including trousers
But I think I can feel my uterus
Maybe not Hmm

CeeCeeEnnEss · 15/08/2016 17:36

My bump is just my fat that I used to be able to suck in, evergreen.

Shellbell0403 · 15/08/2016 19:19

Well I shall be starting aquanatal and yogabellies in two weeks 😀 just signed up xx

PianoOnlyTheWhiteKeys · 15/08/2016 19:43

We moved last weekend from a flat to a house so did the packing ourselves as nothing was in a logical place and the boxes would have been a nightmare (books in the kitchen cupboards etc!) Last Saturday was a new low, and didn't even have a bed to have a lie down in! Although it was only £300 for two very efficient polish chaps and they took furniture apart. I wouldn't recommend it though, could only pack one box at a time and had to have an hour sleep in between.

All been worth it though, DH is currently out mowing his new lawn (the unpacking can wait...)

wm3010 · 15/08/2016 19:52

Thanks for the new thread!

I'm 16+3 now and have been in mat trousers and jeans for ages! Was in them from 10 weeks last time so I suppose not a big surprise it would be earlier this time. I have some Gap work trousers that are under bump and stay up really well in early stages. Also have under bump Next jeans but they are more likely to fall down. Have been wearing leggings and jeggings in my normal size as long as they come up quite high that seems to work. I hate this in between stage!
I am feeling better most of the time now but still get really nauseous when I get tired, anyone else? Plus still having to go to bed really early.

DottyA · 15/08/2016 19:53

Hello all...I've been lurking not posting again as I was consumed with fear about my 12 week scan today..... happy to report all is well, very wriggly, somersaulty baby measuring 12+5, so due date moved forward to Feb 22nd. Nuchal 1.4 so fingers crossed the bloods will also come back good.

Can't bring myself to think about buying baby stuff yet....more because it all seems a bit theoretical than out of worry....Baby stuff in the house would just feel weird at this stage.

gumbootsandjandals · 15/08/2016 19:57

Wonderlust and other gym bunnies. I haven't been to the gym since week 5. I'm now 15. Am hoping I'll feel up to it next week.

I know I've lost some fitness but I had the same amount of time off last pg and I regained some of my fitness. I'm quite proud that my abs were strong enough that it made it very difficult for MWs to palate baby, haha.

I didn't run as it irritates my sacroiliac joint (where you're pelvis meets your vertebrae), but I did the cross trainer and bike, and did free weights and core. I gymmed 3x a week til 39 weeks. I also did a pilates DVD: www.pilateswithpriya.co.uk/site/dvd/ and a pregnancy yoga one. Oh, and aqua natal for a bit of fun.

I mainly wore gym pants and tops in a bigger size, altho second pg also wore h&m maternity vests. My husband bought me some gear from these guys: www.fittamamma.com/ but the pants were sadly a bit transparent so we're only worn indoors. The top I had to return for a bigger size and it still didn't fit right.

topmammy · 15/08/2016 20:07

I am in awe of you ladies who exercise! My only source of exercise at the moment is running around after my toddler and I'm pooped! Grin

DottyA · 15/08/2016 20:09

topmammy I don't even have a toddler and I can't manage anything...depressingly out of breath walking upstairs at the moment. Can't imagine running any more...!

Holly1987 · 15/08/2016 20:13

DottyA, I didn't get told my NT measurements at my scan. But have just looked through my paperwork and saw it's 1.5mm... Do we know whether that's good or not?? Not sure what the numbers are.
Just waiting on my blood results
