New thread because the old one's about to hit the 1000 posts mark.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
rosylonginglily · 13/02/2007 16:28

I hope Bethoo is okay!
It is really coming up to popping time for people isn't it!
Piffle when are you due?
I always wonder what happened to Onilly. And Anniediv?

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 13/02/2007 16:29

Where have half of these people gone? I shall start getting worried and sniff under my armpits incase I smell or something

AmieR · 13/02/2007 16:31

I'm always curious about Onilly and anniediv too, hope things are OK.

I've been putting off going to tesco allllllll day, hoping DH will get home and be willing to suport me through the ordeal.

Kiwi - I was having a chuckle on the MIL swinger thread... OMG.. PEOPLE HAVE SEX... whodathunkit? but why.. why would you talk about that here? oh well did raise a smile to my face!

rosylonginglily · 13/02/2007 16:35

Anyone doing anything romantic tomorrow?
I'm thinking of getting myself a card and some flowers, giving to dh with "sign and return" on. Actually just hoping he arrives here to see us for a day or so before flying to Pakistan on Friday. Haven't seen him for 2 or 3 weeks.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 13/02/2007 16:35

I LOVE the 'am I being unreasonable' threads, they're quite new aren't they. It's a great place for people to have a whinge and for others to rant at them. Fab, just what I need atm . Not that I'm spoiling for a barny or anything

Leoladyofleisure · 13/02/2007 16:39

Valentines will definitely pass well over our heads. although I did give dh a red rose today ! Got SIL some flowers because she has been such an angel helping out with ds so got him a rose as well.

I think that people drop away because this thread is soooo busy its difficult to keep up with. I don't think they realise even if they are not in the middle of the chat people still think about them and like to know how they are doing.... at least I do and assume you all do !

Leoladyofleisure · 13/02/2007 16:40

Why is it whenever I scan other threads there never seems to be anything interesting going on and I seem to miss all the best stuff!

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 13/02/2007 16:59

Kitty I posted on your thread but I couldn't really make a very valuable contribution so i ended !!

Rosy I will offer to chop all the veggies for tea tomorrow night. Who says romance is dead?

Oh I hope people aren't put off posting 'cos we blather on all the time I do wonder how people are doing!

divastropwantstodrop · 13/02/2007 17:09

leo-kitty is drawn to the interesting threads instictivley

i wonder about onilly and anniediv-onilly used to post loads and anniediv gave me alot of good advice on other threads.

ive not posted on 'am i being unreasonable' about anything cos according to dp and my councellor i'm being unreasonable about absolutley everything atm.councellor advised me to try not to think/speak about anything emotional till ive had the baby

dp and i arent 'doing' valentines day.i dont see the point, and he thinks its 'commercialised b*ks'

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 13/02/2007 17:21

Ha ha leo those threads are fab, you'll always find something interesting on them. There's one atm from a woman who's discovered her mil is a swinger can't ge better than that

I agree that people are a bit intimidated by our talking. I know I have been at time and I'm in the thick of it. Hopefully they look in from time to time and hopefully they'll post their birth announcements here .

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 13/02/2007 17:24

Sometimes I do look through and think good grief there is no way I can reply to everyone on here today so what is best to reply to no one or just to reply to one and offend everyone or two people and risk offending other people?

And then I think that I have never once been offended by anyone on this thread and so I am being silly!!!

I love the "Am I unreasonable?" threads but sometimes I am so tempted just to type "yes", or "no"!!

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 13/02/2007 17:55

It's nearly home time now... see you all tomorrow!

sazzybee · 13/02/2007 18:00

Well I can only speak as a newbie and say that you've been very welcoming to me so I wouldn't think you've put anyone else off.

Mind you I am here all the time

I am feeling very unreasonable today after my sister said something so stupid and annoying I can't repeat it. However, it has meant that I've angrily cleaned the house so in that sense it's been a good thing

Booboobedoo · 13/02/2007 18:27

Diva: I think I should 'avoid discussing anything emotional' until after the birth too. I am a bleedin' nightmare atm.

Have read everyone's posts! Amie: sorry you're scared. I just feel really focussed on the birth atm. So much of it seems to be pot luck anyway. I'm trying to approach it with the attitude that as long as me and the baby are both in one piece and ok at the end of it, I'll have done my job.

I love those 'unreasonable' threads too. Great for ranting.

Had a battered sausage last night, and a bit of DH's saveloy. I'd snigger, but I'm too tired. (2 and a half hours sleep last night - heartburn). Sorry to those of you fellow insomnia sufferers.

Best go - ante-baby classes now.

have started new thread called "Advice on suggested pain relief during labour-arms above head????" if anyone would like to go look..

sazzybee · 13/02/2007 18:49

Is that in childbirth spongecake? I'm too scared to go in there - there's a really scary thread about tearing

foxabout2pop · 13/02/2007 18:54

Hi

I'm intimidated by the chat today as am too tired to participate, thanks to DS2 and my bladder conspiring against me last night!

Just checked in to say nighty night!!

spongecake · 13/02/2007 18:55

sazzy, promise its not scary, quite funny and helpful really, have a peep!

I can't even read the pages on labour in the purple prgncy book from the NHS (as it has pictures of screaming women and close ups of their bits my dp felt faint, I felt sick, my mother pursed her lips and said it was unnecessary..for once we agreed

have tried to glue paper over them so I can read it but paper is shiny so it doesn;t work. so have gone for plan a) positive karma, plan b) lots of drugs

sazzybee · 13/02/2007 19:05

I like your thinking spongecake. ;)

I haven't looked at that book from the NHS since they gave it to me. Sounds like I'm not missing much.
Night night foxy - hope you get a better night's sleep tonight
Oh and mossy in my cleaning frenzy I looked at my book and it's actually by Sheila Kitzinger, not Janet Balaskas. My brain has turned to mush

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 13/02/2007 19:06

In the nhs preg book I got given 8 odd years ago there is a picture of a very fed up looking woman on a hospital bed , hooked up to all sorts. Next to her is a wimpy looking bloke with a stupid smile on his face, the caption underneath the picture says "sometimes a drip is needed to induce labour" .
Do any of you know what I'm talking about or have they taken the silly thing out ?

Night night foxy x

foxabout2pop · 13/02/2007 19:12

Oh I must go to bed now ...am too tired to even get up and walk to the bedroom

Like the quote about the "drip" LOL!!

TheBlonde · 13/02/2007 19:25

I've not seen this NHS book - sounds classic though
I got given a copy of "Emma's diary" last time but nothing this time not even a Bounty pack

foxabout2pop · 13/02/2007 19:35

Me neither TheBlonde!

Right - I really am going to bed now

divastropwantstodrop · 13/02/2007 20:14

kitty-i dont know what happened to my book but i know it told you that the baby would be given to you once it was cleaned up and wrapped in a towel
and in all the pictures the women giving birth were on their backs.my sheila kitzinger book baffled me at the time cos i didnt know which was right

i used to find this thread intimidating for the first couple of months.in fact,i had been on mn for a month before i looked at it,and that was only to be nosey at these two fiesty women(ie kitty and foxy)who appeared to be having babies around the same time as me

now its the closest thing ive got to a social life
