New thread because the old one's about to hit the 1000 posts mark.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AmieR · 13/02/2007 09:38

oops Fox X post!

I know, i think I spent too much time on my own yesterday and brain has been working over time

gonna make DH a valentines card today to keep me occupied!

foxabout2pop · 13/02/2007 09:40

Aime - yeah I reckon he deserves one after the other night!!

muppetisacat · 13/02/2007 09:43

Sazzy - one tip the mw told me that helps to identify if you're feeling the head or not is to position your hands either side of the lump you're feeling and gently sway it back and forth between your hands. If it gives quite easily between it's probably the head as it can flex on the neck - whereas the bum can't!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 13/02/2007 09:46

Foxy, I'm getting cross on an 'am I unreasonable thread' I hate it when people slag their well meaning inlaws/outlaws off and go all sanctimonious about their own parenting techniques.

Amie {{{{{hugs}}}}} to you. When I had my first I had my head firmly stuck in the sand

Piffle · 13/02/2007 10:38

Kitty.
With dd they told me at 35 wks scan that she was 8lbs and that I should surrender to an induction at 38 wks
I walked out and ignored them
dd born (curiously enough at 38 wks of her own volition) weighing in at
7lbs 8oz
Ho hum
Take it with a grain of salt kitty
Pink Ranger fab news about your pregnancy too!

Had good talk with dp last night, said.. where is the love man, where is the love...
turns out I've been moaning so much the last 2 mths he is bored and feels the no sympathy route will kick me out if it.
Scuse me, appendicitis, SPD and heavily pregnant?
is it not my right to not feel fab...
So we talked and I think things are better.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 13/02/2007 10:52

Glad things are better with your and yours Piffle.
Oh I take no notice of the weight guestimate at all. I am just so relieved that he looks to be happy, healthy and growing well. I would be suprised if he came out as big as the last tbh, who btw they said was not a particularly large baby . Well, she was for me

AmieR · 13/02/2007 10:59

How bug was she Kitty?

Anyone hear about that baby born weighing just over a stone..? I can't remember where it was, China or somewhere in South America!

A STONE!!!!??? >< ouch!

Foxy -

kiwibella · 13/02/2007 11:56

oh, a sleepless night for lots Jay... hope you wee one improves during the day, poor thing. And, your poor ears .

Piffle, glad you were able to talk things through and do hope that they get better.

I must remember to run out of butter so that I can just eat cake . I eat so much crap (on top of the meant and 5 fruit and veg), I wonder what this baby will be like?!?

Dd has a friend coming over any minute. Hopefully they will just play and I can sneak back off to my bed We're going to see Music and Lyrics tonight. I'm looking forward to a girly flick.

spongecake · 13/02/2007 12:53

just had a quick skim through the posts-loads and nearly a 1000 again! I am on my 2nd day of maternity leave, and its wonderful! funny re the battered sausages.. and I insisted on having fish, chips and a battered sausage on friday night. DP was horrified as he is a chef and french last night he made me trout with cider sauce and pickled cabbage- think he was making a point he doesn't know I have oven chips hidden in the bag of the freezer.hahahahhhahhahah.

bethoo hasn't been on for a while? hope she is ok

any advice on nursing bras? I am a HUGE 42H now (was 32F)-will I get any bigger? and will I go back to my normal size? best place to get nursing bras? have to buy online now, as much easier and can't face shops.
am about to hire tens machine, do they work- would prefer large bottle vodka but lets try the conventional way first

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 13/02/2007 13:01

Amie, she was 9lb 2oz. Not absolutely gigantic by any means but not average either. I am small framed when not preg so she was certainly big for me and it felt it

Spongecake, that's quite a leap in size there. I can't help you as I've got no boobs anyway .
at the cooking dp. I wish I had food to eat that wasn't made by me. I'm bored with it.

Have fun tonight kiwi

divastropwantstodrop · 13/02/2007 13:28

amie-the scariest bit,i found, was getting home with this new baby and thinking 'what the hell do i do now?'and that was with all of them, not just my first.then after about 2 or 3 days you cant remember what it was like before they were born and it feels like they've always been there.

kitty-ive got a hyper baby as well.considering i have an anterior placenta i've felt this baby loads and am convinced its a boy still,as my dd's were never this active.i have a feeling we will both be on here at god-forsaken times in the morning in a few weeks

piffle-glad youve managed to have a chat with your oh.he should realise you have every right to moan though!

i decided to get my hair cut on the way back from my councelling session,as it hadnt been done since august and was looking rather like a haystack.there was defo a glimmer of attraction in dp's eyes as i walked in .all i need to do now is have tha baby and loose the extra weight and i might start to feel human again instead of like a walking bag of hormones.

jay-hopefull your lo will get the teeth through before you drop.my dd2 had 4 teeth come through on the same day last week.shes cutting 2 more atm so im hoping they appear in the next week or so.

could bethoo be having her baby???

35+6

sazzybee · 13/02/2007 13:47

spongecake - I've never had a baby before so feel free to ignore me but I was looking in the Jojo Maman bebe catalogue the other day and they had bras which expand as your milk come in which might be quite good for you. They had six lots of hooks and I guess very stretchy cups

I went back to sleep and didn't wake up until 1pm. I've turned into a student again!

Re bethoo - I was wondering that. She's gone awfully quiet!!

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 13/02/2007 13:54

Piffle... he thought you'd been moaning too much?! Glad you had a chat and sorted it out!

Amie I heard about that baby that weighed a stone, I think the lady had a c-section, imagine pushing that out of your fanjo!

Spongecake lol at you hiding your chips! Dh makes our food most of the time and makes ultra healthy stuff, but he did relent last night and buy us some lovely cream cakes too!!

Kitty I saw that thread but I didn't know enough about modern advice / parental advice to post anything, as nearly all the advice I've been given comes from on here!!

Diva you'll have to post a piccie of your new 'do on your profile!

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 13/02/2007 13:56

Do you think Bethoo has had her baby then? Does anyone have an email / phone number to get in touch?

Having said that remember Booboo went offline for two days and we all thought she'd gone into labour too!!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 13/02/2007 13:59

I'll have a look and see if I can find her anywhere.

AmieR · 13/02/2007 14:05

we'll all getting so close now! Anything is possible.. my initial date was 14th of feb.. so who knows!

foxabout2pop · 13/02/2007 14:06

That's exciting if Bethoo gives birth, when is she due??

Kitty - just dipped into that thread

I wish my monsters were as well behaved at the table as yours

AmieR · 13/02/2007 14:10

I know its early on as I was gonna ask her to be my buddy, but I think she'd laready paired up.. so 2nd of March I remember rightly!

Piffle · 13/02/2007 14:14

Oh that would be exciting if we all start popping some babes out soon.
I had dd at 38 wks ds at 42 so am unsure this time what to expect, aside from the unexpected of course

another joy had to collect ds (13) from school due to sick bug... He is due to head off on school ski trip to France Thurs night.
Ho hum

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 13/02/2007 14:39

Foxy, not that thread this one

last time Bethoo posted was 8th feb

TheBlonde · 13/02/2007 15:31

Spongecake - best place for nursing bras online is bravissimo or figleaves. Otherwise your local NCT may be able to send their bralady round to measure you and sell you some

Meant to sort out tens machine hire today but forgot so will have to deal with that tomorrow

Managed to get a MW appt but not for another 2 weeks so have arranged to see the GP in the meantime

(36 weeks today)

morocco · 13/02/2007 16:08

hope ds gets better in time, piffle. glad things are sorted out with dh as well. my dh is settling back down again as well tho did p me off last night when I did all bedtime for the 2 of them while he watched telly - apparently it was 'gripping'!

met doula today. she is lovely and much more organised than me or dh so thank goodness she is here to get us to think about little things like how to drive to the mat unit, write a birth plan etc.
next week I've got someone from the nct coming out to fit nursing bras, I know just what you mean about not being up to going out to shop for fiddly things like bras these days.

kitty and diva - also have hyper baby, my 2 ds's are also total nutters so no doubt this one is going to be the same. I had hoped for a nice quiet girl

I'm very impressed with those of you who can tell bits of baby. this one feels more like an octopus, how can she kick in both ribs and fanjo at same time??? and simutaneously be wriggling on the sides as well?? I can't imagine how she's managed to fold herself up.

exactly a month to go today!! or was that yesterday? mind you a month seems a long time, 4 weeks sounds a bit shorter
edd 13 march, girl

Leoladyofleisure · 13/02/2007 16:18

Oh dear, I have been updating myself in bits today and am still reading Monday so have given up!
So sorry that so many of you are having bad times with your dp/dh's. This is a time when you really need support and I guess shows their weaknesses.

Sazzy, I think I remember reading that your LO was very, very active a couple of days/nights ago, could it be that the baby has turned?

I see you are all talking about childbirth books, has anyone read anything from Michael Odent?

Last couple of days my babies have been much quieter, both are still moving but much less. Lack of space or resting to gear up for birth???? I hope the secong thing, not sure how much longer I can be pregnant before I go completely mad!

kitty... I didn't look for too long at your thread but I have to say what an interesting topic - 'am I being unreasonable'. Haha, just reading about the lady who found out her mil is a swinger!! The things people discuss .

Diva, oo-la-la!! Glad you caught that glimmer in your dp's eye. When you talk about him here, he always sounds like such a sweetie. You are very lucky.
