jay-i see the consultant on thursday,i'm sure she will measure it.with my last two the mw+consultant kept mentioning it because it was always 2-3 weeks bigger than it was meant to be,so i'm just assuming that all is as it should be this time

AmieR · 12/02/2007 21:52

Kitty - I don't appear to be any bigger.. its hard to judge for yourself really.. But I do feel far more sluggish and cumbersome.. so maybe its a sign!

I was just getting some stuff together and I thought it would be good to get my ipod sorted for the D DAY and.. I've managed to wipe it, this makes me feel like crying! LOL

Lunar - thats awesome, and yes, I hope to be splashing this week!

sazzybee · 12/02/2007 21:54

LOL at I am a garlic

Jaysecond · 12/02/2007 21:55

perenial massage Kitty.......i cant even get my hand there to simple loo type things, never mind the massage..... Do you think its too late to start with the pelvic floor exercises......??

Diva, hope she does measure it for you, even though i am sure all is fine and thats why they havnt mentioned anything, its always nice to have the reasurance.

Hehehe @ the garlic quote, that has to be a winner, you should keep a diary of all the little 'quotes' DS does i am sure with oneslike that it would be a best seller!

Fox my sonographer today told me that 3 cms was enough 'out of the wayness' for baby to get through.... have you been told you cant have a natural birth? even so, it can move a fair bit in the last few weeks so i am told, keeping fingers and toes crossed!

Nothing on tele worth watching, i am not that tired but i am bored ith nothing to do, DH is watching re runs of Friends!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 12/02/2007 22:01

Jay, it's never too late, but always very boring

I'm off to bed, see if I can sleep tonight x

Jaysecond · 12/02/2007 22:09

good luck with the sleep thing, my body has decided that i will never sleep through the night again......

Well might as well get more bored, one two three and sqeeeeeeeeeze.........!

eidsvold · 13/02/2007 01:41

anyone else got a little present for their other ones from the baby. I did it with dd1 when dd2 was born - she got a toy for the bath.

This time I got dd1 a 'wiggles' dvd - she is a massive wiggles fan - figure I can put it on if she is here and I need to feed the babe.

For dd2 I got her a counting book - using anne geddes pics - of babies. Gorgeous. Dd2 is obsessed with babies so think that will be a hit too.

Finding it hard to get up in the morning. Feel like I have not had any sleep. Even went to bed early last night and still feel like I have had no sleep - ahh well - good practice for when the babe is here.

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 13/02/2007 06:34

Morning all,

Lunar, rotfpmsl @ "I'm a garlic". Brilliant! Now if Terry Nation had only come up with that one himself! Imagine, armies of garlics decending on London... Bless him!

Amie get you with the good lurvin'! I find it quite hard to feel very sexy at the mo; my stomach and thighs look like someone's drawn all over them in red biro!

Jay glad your scan went well! What a whopper! I still have my bottle of almond oil but I'm going to wait until I'm on maternity leave to do the ol' massage thing!

Diva my mw told me that she does't do the fungal height corresponding to weight thing until about thirty eight weeks or so? It seems to be different every part of the country doesn't it!

Better go and get my toast now, see y'all later!

34 weeks TODAY!

Jaysecond · 13/02/2007 07:13

Morning mossy and anyone else who is around. I have been up since 6 with DD, which might not sound bad but all shes been doing is screaming her head off. When shes well she normally sleeps till at least 8, so i am finding this a bit like the middle of the night! I think its her teeth now, coupled with the end of her viral infection

I am supposed to be hosting an NCT coffee afternoon today. I really dont feel like it but committted myself two weeks ago and i cant get hold of everyone to re arange, so coffee and cakes it is, plus about 8 ladies and their offspring. I guess getting up at this time gives me the oppotunity to try and tidy the house up a bit, might even try and enlist DH help....although hes still not well either with a chest infection! i live in the house of evil illness!

i feel like toast but have just realised we have no butter.....what will i have

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 13/02/2007 07:39

cake!

MOssy, after about 36 weeks the fungal height thing becomes even more inaccurate as the baby starts to drop down and you can often appear to be shrinking!!
It was lovely to be able to get up this morning and know that LO is alright .

Eids, I've never done the present thing. I think mine are all used to yet another baby arriving. Even the 3 year old is very impatient for him to come now.

sazzybee · 13/02/2007 08:05

I have had 4 hours sleep. Hopefully I will be able to doze off later this morning but I feel really sick for some reason.

Thank goodness I am on leave. And I don't have a sick DD and a social thing to host.

Jay - what time are they coming over? Can you squeeze a nap in beforehand?

rosylonginglily · 13/02/2007 08:10

Pinkranger, its really cheering to hear your 12 week scan was fine, that's always a bit of a hurdle! You can relax a bit and I really hope you have an enjoyable pregnancy!

Jay I'm feeling sorry for your dd, the poor thing, I hope she gets well soon! Hope everyone else is feeling better too.

Great that everyones babys are growing nicely and placentas moving, lets hope all the breeches turn too!

Fingers crossed that everyones dhs/dps start behaving how we want them to!

Lunar, really cute 'I am a garlic' story, aawww.

rosylonginglily · 13/02/2007 08:12

sazzy what had you up? You probably feel sick with tiredness, I get that. Eat! that'll help!

sazzybee · 13/02/2007 08:18

Got up to go to the loo and then couldn't get back to sleep because I was hungry. So I had a yoghurt and a cup of tea. And now I feel sick.

It's alright - I can sleep all day if I want.

I'm trying to figure out whether the baby really has turned round but I'm not that good at working it out I've realised! Can anyone else say with certainty which bits are which when feeling their tums?

rosylonginglily · 13/02/2007 08:23

I think the babys back is lying on the right with head down cuz that's where I feel the hiccups he has and the kicks are on the left side. Sometimes I feel a little bum sticking out up at the top.

With dd she lay across me for most of pregnancy and more on one side so one side of my bump was far bigger than the other and when I had her you could see which side of my tummy was more stretched!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 13/02/2007 08:38

Sazzy, I know where the back is because it is hard there. I know the bum is up so I feel that wiggling up and down. As to the rest I have to guess. During the night I was in awful pain very low down on my tummy and I'm assuming that is was an elbow digging into me.
It is lovely that he moves SO much but it I'm a bit concerned that this will mean he's going to be a non sleeping hyper baby and child

sazzybee · 13/02/2007 08:45

I keep hoping it's his bum I can feel up top and I'm pretty sure it was his foot that he used to kick me in the ribs this morning.
The problem I have I think is that I've got so much fluid that he sort of floats away when I prod him.
Mine's very mobile too - I've hoped that won't mean he's hyper but if you think that might be the case and this is your 6th

AmieR · 13/02/2007 08:55

LO's bum is on the top left of my bump, tthen i can feel back all the way down left hand side, get most movement just right of belly button.. i guess, hands and feet... head... on top of bladder!

Today...I'm just plain scared about it all.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 13/02/2007 08:57

Sazzy, I'm no expert!!
Boys tend to be more hyper than girls. Mine has misbehaved all the way through this preg when it comes to having his heart listened to, being palpated, scanned etc. if ever I prod him he goes really still and turns away from me and he's done this to the midwife too. When there was still plenty of room to swim around the midwife actually had to press her hand down on the top of my bump to stop him escaping and so give her a chance of listening in!!!! I have normal amount of water in there. I think he has the metaphorical two fingers up when anyone tries to have a look or listen in!!

The only ante/post natal correlation I have found is that sleep patterns in the womb persist into the newborn phase. If your baby sleeps well at night they will mostly likely do so after birth, waking only for feeds. If they keep you awake kicking and squirming, well........

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 13/02/2007 08:57

Amie, what are you scared about?

AmieR · 13/02/2007 09:07

I can't put my finger on one thing!

Growth, liklihood of inducement.. having an AB drip in time...

Labour, sounds stupid, but not knowing what the "real thing" is and when its happening.

Labour.. general, possible pain of it.

Then, looking after the baby!

Reality sinking in I guess

rosylonginglily · 13/02/2007 09:31

Amie when it comes to it, your hormones will take over and help you. Practise breathing and think positive thoughts. I was trembling with fear the first time I went into labour but it was fine and now I know the key is to relax, breath...you'll be fine there will be lots of support and as much pain relief as you feel you need! It's not comfortable but you'll be so keen to meet your baby!

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 13/02/2007 09:31

Jay, whenever I run out of butter I use nutella! Or, failing that, as Kitty says, cake! Hope your dd feels better soon.

Sazzy I really can't tell which bits are which. My placenta is around the front so the kicks are dulled quite a bit. I can tell the difference between a movement, and a hiccup, and that's about it!

Or alternatively, he's just a very relaxed baby... which is good news judging by Kitty!

Amie I get that feeling sometimes. But I do such a wonderful ostrich impression that it goes away quite quickly!

foxabout2pop · 13/02/2007 09:36

Amie try not to worry - however good or bad the Labour is, its only one day in your life and you'll get your rewrad in your arms at the end.

As for the newborn, well, you get used to them!!

I remember giving DS1 his first bath - Lordy! - nearly caused a divorce between DH and I

I got about 3 hrs sleep last night, as LO and my bladder both ganged up on me

Jay - thanks for the reassurance about the 3cm - my consultant wants it to be 4cm, but the active birth centre says 3cm is fine

AmieR · 13/02/2007 09:37

:D thanks Rosy - be the first time in my life my hormones will be of a benefit to me! lol

hmmm cake

hmmm nutella
