Aww bunch he's just gorgeous, love the tongue out one! Hope you're doing ok, hormones won't help your mood but I'm sure once you're home you'll feel a lot more settled and be able to relax in to family life.
And yes, I promise I'm going to try to relax a bit more and take it a bit easierSmile.

Miley that is utter bollocks! Surely they can't do that? definitely get on to the union I'm sure that's not legal. Hope the funeral and the dress fitting goes well today.

ElleSarcasmo · 11/08/2016 10:14

Bunch he's just gorgeous! Love the cheeky tongue out one, such gorgeous hair too! Hope you can get home soon.

Indi hope the ankle is feeling ok and you're managing to rest. That sounds horrendous. Is your mum there now?

Potato is she head down, or can't you tell? Hopefully she'll stay put another week!

Hope the funeral goes ok Miley.

Leonie you shouldn't feel bad about being out and about. It's not the same as doing a whole day of work and nobody should judge you for it.

PotatosMum · 11/08/2016 11:02

Elle yep, she's been head down since about 28 weeks but she wasn't engaged yet when the midwife checked last week. I'm just concerned that she moved quite dramatically yesterday and she might be engaged now. Oh well, I've got the midwife next Thursday so if nothing's happened I guess I'll find out then Smile

Late to roll call again!

First of all massive congratulations bunch enjoy getting home today.

Nevlet, 26, 36+4 with a boy.

Hoping he isnt long away as seem to have Braxton Hicks on and off all the time, horrendous pelvis and back ache and feels like I have a bowling ball in my cervix!

Danni89 · 11/08/2016 12:07

bunch he is so lovely, sounds like the feed are going well!

So my scan was ok, measurements and fluid seems fine, baby must have just been tucked away yesterday- phew! (And breathe)

LisaTheSimpson · 11/08/2016 12:22

So glad to hear that, Danni! Must be a great relief x

leoniethelioness · 11/08/2016 13:11

Great news, Danni!

Pyxie · 11/08/2016 13:44

Bunch he is beautiful! Hope you get home soon.

Danni great news on the scan, baby wins the first game of hide & seek!

Indi I hope your ankle is feeling a little better today.

PotatosMum · 11/08/2016 14:26

Danni really good news about growth scan Smile

Ladies, as I should be popping in the next couple of weeks and don't know what state I'll be in afterwards can I have a volunteer to take over setting up new threads and maintaining the list?

Aw, Bunch. He's adorable! I love, love his hair. I hope you're feeling back to yourself soon, and that you get home quickly!

Indi I'm glad you and beanie are okay! 2 days with your foot up isn't so bad in the greater scheme of things Wink I am impressed you're still going to the gym at this stage! I hope you'll take it a bit easier now.

Miley that really sucks. Hope it doesn't end up going to court! I can't imagine the grounds the former employer would use in their defence.

Potato at least your neighbours are polite! Mine were friends with my ex, and are perfectly nice but they haven't replaced their fence since winter when half of it fell down between our houses. Their poor kids can't help but kick balls into my yard now - at least they don't come through and help themselves I suppose!
I hope the movement is Potato getting herself engaged!

Danni great news on the growth scan!

I've had my first meal in a week - toast! I'm not sure if it's my seemingly endless upset stomach, a lack of food in my stomach, or a change in the baby's positioning, or an incoming bladder infection, but it's now uncomfortable to stand. And, since I've been laying down most of the week, my hips and bum are sore and make it uncomfortable to do anything but stand Confused OH is looking for a rocker/glider/recliner a little early to see if that helps me, with the idea to move it into baby's room afterwards. He's only here on weekends and it's really starting to depress me.

AudreyBradshaw · 11/08/2016 15:31

I'll volunteer to be thread starter potato

He really is gorgeous bunch massive congratulations on your beautiful baby boy! A little red head too! Lovely!

Dh is going being conned to see a psychic tonight. He wants me to go with him but I'm not in the mood for it at all. I do believe a few people have a gift but it seems unlikely that it's some woman with a lot of scarves and candles who lives on an estate in Bolton.

leoniethelioness · 11/08/2016 15:34

There's a removal van on my street so I assume the house that sold nearby is completing tomorrow. The local children were milling around it (I think they at about eight, as they look a similar age to my cousin's daughter) and one of the girls was picking up my cat, putting her in the van and watching her run away before finding her and doing it again! I went out and told them off. 😕😕 I said she was an animal, not a toy, and not to treat her like that. I was very polite but I'm mortified! My cat was hiding under a car so I had to coax her in with the lure of snacks. I've kept them both locked in for the last couple of hours. I'm an overprotective cat mum, aren't I? They weren't trying to be naughty but I don't think they realised that my cat is a living creature who should be treated with respect. Thank goodness she's quite tolerant as the other one could easily have scratched one of them if she'd been picked up! Can you imagine how I'll be if someone mistreats my baby boy?!

Just woken up from my nap. Next NCT class tonight - the middle one about breastfeeding etc.

IndiX · 11/08/2016 16:30

Leonie I would be really pissed off, I would've thought at 8 years old the little shits would've been taught better! I'm a very protective doggy mum. I would definitely keep your cats on lockdown for a little while.

Danni that's great news about the growth scanSmile

Elle yeah my mum is here now and DH is off today, it's lovely having them both with me but they are nagging me a bit to keep my foot up.

So I spent the morning with my foot up and being very well behaved and 'resting'. I then put a facepack on and washed my hair and then decided to take mum to the shops for a couple of hours Blush I'm actually ok though tbh, I just am not a relaxing/resting type of person. My ankle is still very swollen but it's getting better to put weight on, it's more when I turn or twist my foot it can be a bit painful. My sciatica is quite bad today too but I'll be fine and I'm going to have a chilled evening, my mum is making dinner and I fancy watching a rom com or a Disney film and eating chocolate Grin

BunchOfBobs · 11/08/2016 16:59

Ladies we're homeward bound at last woohoo!

Throw your questions at me and I'll answer when I can.
I was warned baby blues kick in on day 3 and it's day 2 so not really surprising.

No transfusion for me damn them as its not a big enough drop but it's massive for me from 126 to 86. I'm on iron tablets 3 times a day but apparently it can take 6 weeks to recover my iron levels- fun!! Turns out I lost 1.3l with my PPH so a bit more than I was initially told- 900mls.

So staying in hospital was okay, post partum care was great until I could get out of bed then they will stand with you but try to encourage you to do as much as possible. Still great care though. We delivered at 21.42 and Alistair didn't leave until 3am so no kicking out of partners and I was so tired yesterday I got him to leave at 7pm even though he was allowed to stay until 9.

potato we had electronic tagging too, it was fine getting it deactivated to leave, the hold up was my iron tablets. Took 3 hours for the pharmacy to bring it up.

Saw my midwife on the way out who was with me for 12 hours of labour- near burst into tears. Hormones rock!

Here's his going home outfit and him all cosy in the car seat. 1 hour country road journey now, fun times!!

Enjoy being home eithnyoir beautiful baby boy. How long has your DH taken off for paternity leave?

BunchOfBobs · 11/08/2016 17:19

Leonie He has 4 weeks to take but we decided he'd only take 2 then he would take 1-2 days off a week. He's back in a week Wednesday and then only doing 4 days with 1 day at home.

leoniethelioness · 11/08/2016 17:19

Oh I really can't type - "with your". D'oh! Fear not, my new phone was delivered today and once my number transfers over, I'll be using the app and keyboard like a pro. The phone is a last minute pre baby treat to myself because apparently you shouldn't wear perfume with a newborn so that idea had to go.

leoniethelioness · 11/08/2016 17:22

Bunch That's great - glad you'll have plenty of support. Let me know how the introduction to Atticus' canine sibling goes! Is Atticus named after To Kill a Mockingbird? That book is on my mat leave reading list.

Danni89 · 11/08/2016 17:34

Thank you ladies.. Very relieved after growth scan and good to see my boy on screen again

bunch he looks so snug in that chair bless him. My question is what was the worst part of your experience and (if I remember right) did the epidural hurt??

shelbTa · 11/08/2016 17:38

He's ace, in all his funky gear too!!!

Can I ask bunch - what clothes did you put him, newborn or up to a month?

Hammer the iron tablets - I've been told lactulose (which you can get without prescription at pharmacy) is really good to counteract the constipation.

X

BunchOfBobs · 11/08/2016 17:54

Danni, it didn't hurt no but it was hard to stay still during contractions for it. You only feel the local as a jab and then a wired feeling when they site it. It's uncomfortable when they press on it afterwards then it's fine. As long as it works that is.

Leonie indeed it is Grin

Shelb he's in up to 1 month at the mo but I think he'd fit in newborn to be fair.

LisaTheSimpson · 11/08/2016 17:58

Aww, I love the pirate stripes! Bunch, he's so amazing! I don't even know you but I'm so happy for you and I smile to myself every time you post a picture of him.

My question is - what happened immediately after the birth? When he was given to you, what happened next? Do they just clear up and let you get on with looking after him, or do they make sure you do things a certain way and guide you how to hold him, etc.?

Leonie - cat question. Also, you are Lottie on Insta? Anyway, we've got two (I'm ruthwg on Insta) and we're having a new kitchen starting on Monday. Would you keep yours around and try to keep them in certain rooms, or would you put them in a cattery just to be sure? To be clear, what I'm worried about is them hurting themselves on something, getting so dusty and then licking themselves, or then destroying things like wiring.

LondonJem · 11/08/2016 18:38

Hi girls, I heard there was an actual baby afoot Shock so thought I would pop in from the undergrads to add my congrats. Well done bunch he is absolutely gorgeous! What a little corker. Hope everyone else doing well. I joined the ttc1 thread in January so remember some of you xx

Feefeefs · 11/08/2016 18:41

Happy mat leave shelbta

Atticus really is gorgeous bunch! Hope the stitches aren't too painful!

Great news on the scan danni.

Sorry your not feeling great may.

That paternity leave sounds great bunch, 4 day work week sounds great too

Pinklily1 · 11/08/2016 18:45

Bunch, Atticus is adorable! Love his snazzy outfits! It's so good that you have been discharged and can hopefully get into a routine now too. I bet you'll feel better once you are at home.

Out of interest - did you eat during labour?

Dannii, glad the scan went well!

Indi, take it easy, your foot sounds very painful.

Miley, hope the funeral and dress fitting were OK.

Most contracts of employment have a clause in them entitling employers to recover any overpayments from an employees salary, so if they had accidentally paid him twice for one months work, they could recover that in the next pay or by way of deduction from salary over a series of months. Often applies to loans as well. I haven't heard of it being used in relation to training costs, save that some employers do state that if you leave a company within a certain number of months/ specified time period of completing a training course they can seek to recover the course cost from you. You need to check OH's contract, any staff handbook and anything which was put in writing about the course he did, just to make sure. Definitely get the union involved to help you out.

Shelb, not sure if you've ordered the ASOS leggings yet, but if not I'd recommend going a size up given how far along you are. I ordered them in my usual size and they fit but are very see through over the bum. A bigger size might help with that, so I'm going to exchange mine.

Potato, fingers crossed that is baby getting engaged Smile

I've been manically busy at work and have had to bring stuff home to do. I was hoping for a nice wind down to maternity leave but it's not looking like it's going to go that way Hmm
