BunchOfBobs · 11/08/2016 19:12

Thanks London.
*
Lisa* they put him straight on my chest then dried him off as he was covered in my blood from the episiotomy and vernix. Then he got put under my gown for skin on skin.
As I then lost a quarter of my blood he was whisked onto daddy whilst I just wanted to sleep (they were worried I was losing consciousness) and given oxygen. They then stitched me up.
I was only guided when it came to feeding, as we're cloth napping DH had to show them how we did it.

Whilst the midwife wrote up the notes we were left alone as a family and I then had a bed bath and was transported to the ward.

BunchOfBobs · 11/08/2016 19:13

Dog meeting went really well. Lots of wiggly tails and sniffs. Though Sherlock doesn't seem to be keen on his crying, he ran outside ha!

I had to come on and say congratulations bunch. He's such a cutie Star
I was on the first few ttc threads from November. Then there were so many pregnancies and I just had to walk away as we'd been ttc for over 10 years, and I just couldn't cope.
Had some counselling and good news we had a successful round of ivf in July and I'm currently 6+3. Awaiting a heartbeat, so nerve wrecking time!

BunchOfBobs · 11/08/2016 20:03

Oh Drink, thank you so much and huge congratulations to you. Get over here as soon as you feel comfortable to Smile

ElleSarcasmo · 11/08/2016 20:09

Potato how funny, maybe she was just getting engaged?

Indi nobody could begrudge you a couple of hours of retail therapy after the day you had yesterday! Hope the foot's back up now!

Leonie I'm Shock at those kids, good for you for telling them off.

May hope you're on the mend now, sorry you're having a rough time.

Bunch love the pic of your DH and Atticus! So cute! Your dog looks like a proper guard dog too, so serious.

BunchOfBobs · 11/08/2016 20:09

Forgot to answer yes I ate in labour, until it was near the end at least as they wouldn't let me due to risk of c section.

ElleSarcasmo · 11/08/2016 20:09

Congratulations Drink!

Forgot to say, hi Jem, hope to see you over here soon!

Pinklily1 · 11/08/2016 20:11

That's wonderful news Drink! I remember you from the earlier TTC threads.

Bunch, I love that picture of Atticus, your OH and your dog. Sherlock looks so intrigued! Are you in much pain post birth?

Mileymoocow · 11/08/2016 20:35

bunch my heart has just melted. Absolutely gorgeous, I'm so so sooooo happy for you! He's an absolute corker. And well done Sherlock being a good big brother!

pink I got OH to bring a copy of his contract and training guidelines etc home and have gone over them and there's nothing at all about repaying training fees. Hopefully it'll get sorted sharpish!

Dress fitting wasn't as bad as I thought. I need an extra 6 inches around my chest so we can get the zip up, my waistline has expanded by only 5 inches which I can't quite believe and my hips by 2 inches. Apparently she's almost sure she can sort it out but I'll know better tomorrow morning. I got cuddles off my brothers niece though! 3 weeks old and total perfection!

Funeral was as expected. A lot of tears when it was mentioned she never got to meet my cousins baby girl. My grandma was sobbing her heart oit which is always going to be a horrible experience. My mum and dad managed to be civil though, which is good. I did feel like Buddha though! Had my belly rubbed a lot!

Will try to catch up tomorrow. Early night for me, I'm shattered.

Mileymoocow · 11/08/2016 20:37

drink!! Sorry, totally forgot to say! Big fat congratulations to you Grin that is brilliant news!!!!

Hi jem! Hope you're doing well

LisaTheSimpson · 11/08/2016 20:40

Thanks Bunch. Really appreciate you sharing your experience.

Congrats Drink! Here's wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy!

Hi Jem! (Are you the Jem formerly of SuchaJem fame that I remember?)

PotatosMum · 11/08/2016 20:43

Mayo I'm glad the bug is easing off but it sounds like you should get yourself to the dr just in case.

Stardrey thanks for volunteering Grin

You'll have to let us know what pearls of wisdom your OH comes back from the psychic with.

Leonie those kids sound annoying and old enough to know better! I think you were right to say something and bring the cats inside.

Hope you enjoy your class tonight.

indi hope you're curled up resting that ankle!

Bunch glad you've been allowed home. Hopefully you'll feel more comfortable in your own environment.
Atticus is so cute!!! Grin

Lol at Sherlocks reaction to crying. I'm sure we'd all like to do that Wink

Drink congrats on the successful IVF Grin fingers crossed you have a nice healthy baby growing there and can soon relax into the important business of moaning about pregnancy. Wink Ps I'm runner05.

So, I've been having lots of BH today, haven't been able to bring myself to do anything much. I'm sure they are just BH and nothing more exciting but it's awfully nerve wracking now that we don't want Potato to turn up until the end of next week. I wish OH hadn't mentioned it as before I was all for encouraging labour and as a result expecting to go over Hmm now I feel that the law of sod has been invoked and Potato will arrive any day now Hmm

Bunch Atticus is just adorable!! I bet you're so happy that you're all home.

Congratulations drink that's wonderful news. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy.

Miley good news about the dress, I can't even imagine what my measurements are now. I think I'm better not knowingBlush. Glad the funeral went as smoothly and as well as it could have, they are never a nice experience though. Hope you get a good night's sleep.

Potato I'm really hoping that potato stays put until you're ready, however I would LOVE to see another little baba on the thread ASAP Grin

So I've managed 31 weeks with no constipation, nice and regular every day. After the codeine yesterday I am now constipatedAngry I'm so annoyed, I've eaten 3 oranges, a peach, loads of spinach and veg as part of my meals, a yoghurt, grapes and chocolate and ice cream plus LOADS of water. Surely something in that list should kick start me. I even had a coffee this afternoon ( after not having one during my whole pregnancy) and NOTHING. Please pray to the poo gods for me!

Pinklily1 · 11/08/2016 22:04

Wishing you pooey thoughts Indi! You might have to embrace the prunes Smile They worked a treat for me. They tasted revolting but then after a few days they didn't seem so bad.

Hoping baby potato stays out for a while longer Potato.

I'm feeling funny. I've been feeling queasy all day and just not quite right, and now I have pains in my tummy Hmm Definitely not contractions, just achy pains. Heading to bed in the hope I'll feel better in the morning.

Pinklily1 · 11/08/2016 22:05

Stays put even!

PotatosMum · 12/08/2016 06:55

Morning ladies, how are you all today?

Indi sorry the poo gods have forsaken you. Try fig rolls, they always work for me Smile

Pink oh no, I hope you're feeling better today!!!

So, I've just had one of the worse nights sleep ever! I was up to pee at least once an hour, sometimes twice an hour. I was similar last night except I was waking up less frequently on the verge of having an accident. I'm assuming it's all thanks to Potato's new position... And the BH are back again already Confused
I hope this isn't my life until I go into labour now Sad

shelbTa · 12/08/2016 07:36

Morning ladies

How are we?

Potato - nothing going on in the uti department is there causing all the weeing?

Pink - oh no, how you feeling today?

Zip to report here other than am sleeping 100% better now I don't have the pressure of work (sorry potato!), made me realise how much was pushing myself.

Are any 37/38 weekers really really hungry at the moment?

X

PotatosMum · 12/08/2016 07:56

Shelb no, it doesn't feel like a UTI at all, I just think that my bladder is now the size of a pea Sad

Yep to being hungry, i really have to pace myself or I'd be eating all the time.

Bunch I forgot to ask, do you mind telling us which position you were labouring in? At my hospital they seem to like you to be in any position but your back.

Feefeefs · 12/08/2016 07:59

Ha ha ginger twins!! Cute bunch.

Congratulations drink! Delighted for you!!

BunchOfBobs · 12/08/2016 08:24

Morning all,
Well that was an interesting first night home Hmm
Finally managed to get some sleep at 4am. Put out a help post on chat and had lovely responses until one know it all came along this morning.
We've just bought the sleepyhead on people's recommendation- shit that's expensive. It'll be here tomorrow.

Potato I mostly laboured in the pool or on the ball, so during contractions on all fours in the pool but in between sat up. When on the bed I was on my side to try sleep but found it much more painful . Once epidural was sited I was sat up in bed like the photo but I wasn't holding my legs.

shelbTa · 12/08/2016 08:36

Bunch - we've got a sleepyhead, I hope it works for Atticus - all my friends rave about it.

X

IndiX · 12/08/2016 08:56

Oh bunch I'm sorry you had no sleep. Would he just not settle? I hope the sleepyhead works for you, we haven't got one but I may order one of it's that good.

TMI for breakfast eaters but....I had a pooGrin thank god for that, one day of constipation makes me feel grim. I think probably the quantity of food I ate yesterday didn't give my body much choice but to get it out!

Potato sorry for lack of sleep, you can't even do anything about it. Are you actually weeing when you go to the toilet every hour or is it just the sensation that you need a wee?

Pink hope you're feeling better today.

BunchOfBobs · 12/08/2016 09:00

Indi he wouldn't settle anywhere other than on our chests, little sod GrinQuite gorgeous really. His arm reflex kicked off properly so we eventually swaddled him which helped a tonne. We've been told not to by the midwives though so took us until 4am to pluck up the courage.
