lisa I tend to go for a floaty top and leggings/skinny jeans cause my boobs are enormous and I'm much more comfortable with them covered up for work etc. I do have a couple of long tshirts that are tight that OH loves me to wear (he loves me to show off my bump) but I'm very self conscious about the boobage! I'm more aware these days that they're my baby's feeding stations and don't really want them on show. I do think that bumps look amazing with something fitted on, though. I look frumpy in some of my tops but I'm comfortable so don't really mind.

I keep checking back at little Atticus's face! I'm so chuffed for you bunch, I'm quite emotional!

LisaTheSimpson · 10/08/2016 10:35

Thanks everyone.

Pyxie - same here about what I wear. Today I've had loads of comments that I've 'popped', but I think it's just wearing clothes that draw attention to it. Agree comfort is key!

Miley - My DH also loves it when I show off my bump. And if he travels into the city with me (he goes in a few days a week for his job), he insists that I wear my 'baby on board badge'. It's very sweet I guess - or perhaps they're proud to show off their virility! Grin

Newmrs22 · 10/08/2016 10:37

Eek the thread with babies Grin

New, 39+1 with a vanilla baby. Really hoping I pop soon! But not today as DH is away for work tonight. Sod's law says I will.

Lisa I go for tight things. Might as well make it clear I'm pregnant, not just fat

LillianFullStop · 10/08/2016 10:45

Checking in!

Lillian 37 with a 29+3 pineapple sized Bee and a (hopefully) rising placenta!

lisa I've gone with more fitted clothes as I find it more flattering. Traditional maternity flowing clothes make me look big and frumpy (I am under 5 foot!)

drwhy sorry to hear they closed your midwife unit! at least you know you'll have all the care needed from labour ward esp in the case of PPH.

Still on a high today after hearing news of mr and mrs bunch and baby bunch!

PotatosMum · 10/08/2016 10:54

Lisa I've given up caring what I wear, I'm more barrel shaped than beach ball so everything makes me look dreadful Sad

Has anyone else's hair gone really rubbish? I read that later pregnancy can ruin your hair but mine is ridiculous. It literally won't do anything but look strawlike and rubbish Hmm

New eek! You're next on the list!

I'm off to get about a dozen pineapples at the supermarket today, and maybe some curry... I'm determine to coax Potato out ASAP!!! I would try raspberry leaf tea but I'm still weird about tea at the moment. I hope that symptom goes away as soon as Potato's born, I used to drink tea by the bucket load and I really miss it!

Lillian Fellow 5'0"-er here. What do you do for maternity trousers?

mayago · 10/08/2016 11:04

Big congratulations Bunch!! Atticus is a stunner. I love reading your birth story - thanks so much for sharing!

Potato I'm not up to date, but I'm assuming the move happened? Congratulations!

May, 34, 18+6 with a not-yet-named, gender-unknown (until the 23rd) baby. I've been ill since Friday and am having difficulty eating, staying awake, and having my eyes open due to monstrous headache that came with this sickness bug.

leoniethelioness · 10/08/2016 11:04

Potato My hair is fine but I'm having to switch between types of shampoo a lot to stop it from looking lank. I've got two brands on the go at the moment.

I don't wear can't figure hugging outfits but my dresses do show off my bump. If I wear a T-shirt then I get a lot of comments about my bump showing, being due soon, etc.

AudreyBradshaw · 10/08/2016 11:07

Stardrey, 30, 25 weeks exactly today! Bany the size of a Vanilla cabbage of some sort (or a baseball glove!)

Just got back from my midwife appointment and all is wonderful! Got a bit concerned as baby had gone quiet but it turns out it was just being a monkey and was sideways asleep! Measuring spot on and baby is fine and dandy! Sigh of relief! Apparently I've got super strong abdominal muscles aswell! Grin

Can't believe we've got out first actual thread baby! What a blessing! I'm made up for you bunch

Thanks for the new thread potato

I wonder who's going to pop next!

PotatosMum · 10/08/2016 11:10

Leonie Next black over bump maternity jeans come in short length which were perfect for me at 5'2" and they look smart enough to use as trousers.

May yes we finally moved last Friday. It was right up to the wire and our seller left us a few nasty surprises but we're in and slowly getting unpacked. Starting to decorate the first room at the weekend, excited!

Sorry you've been poorly, I hope it passes quickly. It's not fun being ill when you're pregnant Sad

Just watered the grass (it's patchy and dying) and spent ages spraying must into the air to make rainbows. Little things and all that Grin

Stardrey glad all was well with the midwife and baby is doing well. Congrats on 25 weeks Smile

Stardrey - great to hear from you, haven't seen you in a while! How are you finding pregnancy?

shelbTa · 10/08/2016 11:31

Shelb, 34, 37+2, team pink, finally on mat leave!!

X

leoniethelioness · 10/08/2016 11:34

Potato I'll try them now I'm not in work. Thanks!

Shelb Yay! What have you got planned?

AudreyBradshaw · 10/08/2016 11:35

I went a bit quiet and like a lurky weirdo lisa Grin Ive had such a normal, thankfully boring pregnancy that I feel a bit awful that so many of you have suffered! I keep waiting for my luck to run out! Either that or I'm going to give birth and tear from my arse to my elbow and shit sideways forever! Grin

My DM said not to worry, she had a perfectly normal, boring pregnancy, induced from start to finish in 3 hours and then I didn't sleep through the night till I was 2 so we're sure my just deserts will arrive!

I've got a 3d/4d scan on Friday which Im hoping baby behaves for, it's got a habit of knowing what you want it to do, then doing the opposite! Every HCP I've seen has said this baby is a monkey!

Thank you potato Grin when's your next appointment? I wonder if potato's head is engaged fully yet. I bet all the box packing/unpacking has shifted her down!

Co5mo · 10/08/2016 11:36

Co5mo, 35, 30+6 today waiting patiently (again) for a midwife appointment. Let's see whether they stick pins in me this week again.

Ahh little ginger. We have a disproportionate amount of ginger I our family. 75% of my cousins children on one side are ginger so there's a strong chance of another one here too.

PotatosMum · 10/08/2016 12:16

Shelb yay for mat leave Grin

Stardrey good luck for Friday. I hope baby behaves so you have lots of photos to share Grin

Next appointment is next Thursday. Im really hoping all the moving around has shifted her too if not its back to the consultant to talk contingencies. I've gone from preferring a section at the start to hoping I don't need one now as I don't want to be out of action for long. I've got too many things to do!

I just want to get on with it now. I'm bored of being pregnant and pathetic, I want to be back to my bouncy self Smile

Potato seems to be moving a lot more noticeably alien about to explode style the past couple of days so hopefully she's getting impatient too!

OP posts:
Co5mo · 10/08/2016 12:47

No pins 😊but back on the growth scan band wagon. Apparently I've shrunk my fund all height since last week's appointment 😂 Well I can categorically say I'm definitely bigger than a week ago because I've retired some more clothes today. Oh well, another chance to see baby shouldn't be sniffed at.

leoniethelioness · 10/08/2016 12:53

Co5mo It's probably just down to how the baby is lying. I was measuring large at my last appointment for my personal (BMI-based) growth scale but normal on the universal one. I'm hoping that the normal growth will continue!

My sister (who is 39+4) is seeing the consultant tomorrow because her baby (according to a growth scan) was around 9 lbs last week and the midwife isn't keen on letting her go much beyond 40 weeks with a baby of that size already. I don't think they normally induce until 40+12. Very excited to meet my niece or nephew!

PGP pain has been a lot better today but I have been in bed or horizontal on the sofa all morning... I am hoping that I will be able to sit through the antenatal class later without too much bother as I have rested so much. I am sat at my desk in our little study now to see how sitting in an office chair is. I really would like to go back to work before my maternity leave starts to tie up some loose ends and say goodbye properly!

Danni89 · 10/08/2016 12:54

Omg cosmo me too!

Just come back for my 36 week appointment and apparently there's been no growth since 2 weeks ago from the chart (static growth) - got a scan tomorrow, really worried as I've not had any problems till now, and googling things isn't helping. Baby is moving lots so hopefully the scan shows everything ok Confused

LisaTheSimpson · 10/08/2016 13:08

Leonie - it’s so lovely that you and your sister are having babies around the same time. I hope everything goes well for her. And fingers crossed for your PGP pain easing up too.

Co5mo and Danni - hope your scans show everything is ok and the babies are just being cheeky little troublemakers.

Potato - fingers crossed the end comes soon and you get to meet mini Potato! Lols to you having too much to do and wanting to get it all over with!

Stardrey - I’m so pleased it’s all been going well for you, that’s such great news. And hopefully it doesn’t mean a troublesome, sleep-less baby once it’s born! My last two months have been pretty uneventful actually, and I’m just trying to enjoy that now I don’t have sickness anymore, and before it all gets too uncomfortable at the end.

Shelb - yay for mat leave! Hope you can get some rest and get the last few jobs done (peacefully and in your own time!)

I’m a bit achey today, so trying to keep moving around at work and get up from my desk. Hope it’s just a one-off thing rather than a descent into how things are going to be for the next month or so.

leoniethelioness · 10/08/2016 13:26

Danni Hope you get some good news too!

Lisa Yes, it's very exciting! My parents are like children at Christmas! DSis is due the same day Bunch was - it's weird thinking that baby Atticus is here but her baby is still in the womb! It doesn't sound like it'll be too much longer until we get the meet him or her - and I get the chance to change my first nappy!

Lisa I hope so too! It's awful when you feel permanently achy. I am starting to feel uncomfortable sitting at my desk at home but there really is only so long I can spend lying on the sofa. DH is keen for me not to do too much around the house as he's worried that I'll overdo it and won't realise because of the painkillers. I'm catching up on laundry and will vacuum upstairs later too, as I've not been anywhere today yet and moving around (slowly!) usually helps. I can already tell that I'm not cut out to be a housewife - it's so boring.

ElleSarcasmo · 10/08/2016 13:31

Congratulations Bunch! He is so gorgeous, I shed a little tear at your picture! 💙 Hope you are all enjoying finally getting to know each other and that you're recovering well. I hope I can be even half as calm as you, seriously thinking of booking hypnobirthing now! Atticus is a lovely name too.

Checking in:

Thanks for new thread Potato! Loving the image of you spraying mist into the air for rainbows! You'd be pushed to do that here as it's the dullest day ever.

Hope you cope ok tonight Leonie, is it worth taking a pillow or similar with you just in case? I bet loads of people will be up and about as others have said. How lovely that your sister is due soon too, hope you get to meet your nephew or niece soon.

Co5mo and Danni good luck with scans!

Shelb hope you're catching up on some rest!

Feeling a bit dodgy here-I had some tummy pain (indigestion type pain) and felt a bit sick, woke up still feeling dodgy this morning and haven't been able to face eating anything. I've had some water and some coke Blush which have helped. Also had a terrible night's sleep, I actually tried to have a lunchtime nap in my car I'm feeling so rough! Roll on home time and time to buy some gaviscon I think!

LillianFullStop · 10/08/2016 13:49

leonie for trousers I started with using the hair tie trick with my usual pair (where you use the hair tie to get the button done up!) but I've outgrown that now so I've given up on trousers!

For jeans I love the Topshop maternity over the bump - so soft and comfy. The ones I got were ankle length on average heigh people so they weren't too long on me!

IndiX · 10/08/2016 13:52

Hi ladies, going to catch up properly in a sec.

Had the WORST day imaginable. Took the dogs down to the beach this morning and ended up falling down a set of concrete stairs. Tried hard not to fall on my bump so have now got a massively swollen and painful ankle (suspected broken). I don't know how but I managed to get the dogs back in the car and drive home (adrenaline must've taken over), then was on the phone to the ambulance as DH is away for the night with work and my family live 6 hours away so I couldn't get to A&E. Nhs helpline were lovely but did say as I'm not an 'emergency' that an ambulance could take 4 hours. They said to go to A&E straight away but call the maternity hospital and let them know what's going on. Spoke to the midwife at the hospital and she told me I must come straight to the maternity unit to be monitored and bring an overnight bag and that 'my ankle isn't important'. So thankfully a neighbour dropped me at the hospital and I am now sat in a private room with an ankle in agony and waiting to be put on a machine for the next 4 hours to monitor Beanie.
I am beyond upset, drained and stressed. I just want DH to get back asap, he's had to borrow his bosses car to drive back and it'll probably take a good 3/4 hours to get here.

Nightmare day! And I was in such a good mood this morning.
Sorry for selfish post, will read through the thread now.
