Is anyone else needing to wee like every 10 minutes? It's like my bladder can now only store a shot of liquid... Hmm

francophile1989 · 06/08/2016 23:11

TinyTickler I am exactly the same; probably TMI but I was a frequent wee-er pre pregnancy but ever since I hit the 19 week mark it's been 10 times worse than normal. We are spending the summer in South of France...dreading the 13hour drive home in a few weeks Blush

barkingtreefrog · 06/08/2016 23:11

Wow, bigfam, thanks for the tip! They were definitely £110 when I put it on my wish list! Have heard people raving about them and was really keen to get one so I've broken my rule of not buying anything yet for that bargain!!!
I wouldn't have gone for pristine white but that's the cheapest one available so I'll cover it with a blanket to prevent it needing washing too often!
Delivery in 1-2 months is pretty perfect as well!
Willing to take the risk as can return it if there's an issue.

Nojo82 · 06/08/2016 23:29

Yep I'm needing the toilet a lot more. A lot of pressure down below.

barkingtreefrog · 07/08/2016 06:34

francophile1989 sleeping on your left is to do with your liver apparently:
[sleeping on the side] improves circulation, giving nutrient-packed blood an easier route from your heart to the placenta to nourish your baby. Lying on the left side also keeps your expanding body weight from pushing down too hard on your liver. While either side is okay, left is best.

I also read in the 'Expecting Better' book that there have been studies that found stillbirth was less common in women who slept on their left, so that was enough for me regardless of any other factors that might be at play! I got a dream genii pillow second hand on eBay and that keeps me comfortable and also on my side as you have the small pillow behind your back. I'm on holiday at the moment so I'm substituting with a pillow under my bump and a wedge of duvet behind my back!!

SeashellHoarder · 07/08/2016 07:09

barking thank you I was just going you ask if anyone had a good recommendation for a pillow.

Eskerina81 · 07/08/2016 07:35

Place marking :)

Thanks for the tip bigfam. I've just ordered one too! Thanks to the other posters for the book suggestions too. We've been reading Lulu reads to Zeki which is a really sweet new baby book.

I'm knackered all the time at the moment. Dd is dropping her nap & cutting her back molars which isn't helping!

francophile1989 · 07/08/2016 09:57

Thanks, barking. I read that lying on your back can put pressure on the aorta (and therefore blood flow to baby) so it looks like left side is best!

Minispringroll · 07/08/2016 11:03

I move about a lot at night and I simply cannot just lie on my left side (it makes my butt hurt on that side). I used to sleep on my left before getting pregnant, so this is a little odd. Quite like sleeping on my back now. Hmm I've got one of those big pillows and have combined it with my normal one, which is like a little beanbag. I now sometimes sleep on my back, but propped up and not flat. It means that I take up most of the bed but DH doesn't seem to mind. It's usually him who is spreading out and I've got a tiny space for myself. Grin

Nojo82 · 07/08/2016 12:01

Yea I move a lot at night. I just couldn't stay on one side..

I've just vomited, first time in weeks. Really do hope it isn't coming back.. back to bed while hubby is helping kids clean their bedrooms..

francophile1989 · 07/08/2016 12:36

Sorry to hear you feel rotten Nojo, I vomited last week and was annoyed more than anything as I'd been feeling so well! Turns out it was a one off so fingers crossed it is for you, too!

SeashellHoarder · 07/08/2016 12:56

Hope you feel better soon Nojo that's great you've got support.

BristolLFR · 07/08/2016 14:48

Me too mini! Was always a side sleeper til I got pregnant and now really struggling. And too hot pinned in with pillows.

Hope it was a one off and you feel better nojo...

Thanks from us too on the sleepyhead (whoever posted, baby brain won't let me hold 3 names for the length of a post!), have just shared it with 2 other preggers too, they'll have a roaring trade on them!

littleblondie · 07/08/2016 16:48

Checking in: FTM, due 7th December, team pink.

Bigfam · 07/08/2016 17:09

BristolLFR it was me, amazon have now changed the title of the ad to state it's a cover, anyone that ordered it before it was changed should receive the pod. I've got an emailing confirming it was the pod and that's what I'll receive so fingers crossed (& for everyone else as well!) I think amazon will honour it, or there will be a lot of unhappy people!

StubbleTurnips · 07/08/2016 18:10

Fingers crossed for the pod bigfam, I ordered one in the early hours when I couldn't sleep!

Nojo82 · 07/08/2016 18:48

Thanks for all the well wishes. So far it's been a one off but have been feeling dizzy but all ok now.. could have been the anxiety of my scan on Tuesday. I never felt like this with the others but I think it's coz I'm desperate to know the sex..

I've no ideas on names yet, it's actually driving me crazy coz I've nothing that I like.. makes it harder that I'm irish and hubby is arabic. I had hoped for an arabic name so that hubby has picked 2 and I've picked 2 but I'm not so sure now coz of all the trouble around the world.

barkingtreefrog · 07/08/2016 19:06

bigfam I took a screenshot of the page with the item title and description after I'd ordered it (as it comes up with the 'you purchased this item on 6th August...') so that's my proof if I need it! Wink

BowSurprise · 07/08/2016 20:51

Gutted I missed out on the sleepyhead by the time I ordered this morning the title had changed!

Can anyone recommend any good books for a first time mum that focus on what to do when baby is actually here?
Thank you

SpaceDinosaur · 07/08/2016 22:40

Checking in!

YY to the PP who's bladder can only contain a "shot" at the moment. I did a headstand recently to shift baby so I could sleep. It bloody worked too!!

Is anyone else producing a little colostrum? DH and I just DTD and now I have a little fruit coming from both sides. I guess it's colostrum. But this is my first pregnancy, I thought this didn't happen until much later!

weechops · 08/08/2016 06:40

I have my scan at 2.20 today finally! Decided to find out the sex after all Grin

Bigfam · 08/08/2016 07:13

😊 good luck weechops, hope lo lets you get a good view too

francophile1989 · 08/08/2016 10:15

Good luck and enjoy weechops - I am still undecided about finding out gender..what swayed you!?

I'm getting very impatient for my scan, having it late as we are away but I suppose I shouldn't complain about being on holiday Grin

Nojo82 · 08/08/2016 10:25

Good luck weechops. Hopefully baby let's u see.. I've my scan at 9.30 tomorrow, I'll prob not sleep tonight..

ElodieS · 08/08/2016 10:45

Morning all, hope you had fun weekends, and best of luck for scans this week!

Well done on all the bargain hunting, I didn't go for it this time, but definitely up for more bargains if anyone spots anything good.

I'm having a bit of work dilemma at the moment, just posted in AIBU for traffic, but I'd love to hear from any of you who fancy weighing in: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2703388-AIBU-to-consider-selfishly-taking-this-work-opportunity?
