Hi Tinkly how odd! I emailed asking the same thing and they said I would get the pod...really will be a mystery as to what will turn up?! I

BristolLFR · 08/08/2016 14:31

Just read through the thread elodieS, sounds like a brilliant opportunity. As long as everything is fine with the pregnancy, and work cover the medical insurance then go for it! It's brilliant that you're in the position your husband can look after DCs, as others have said, if it was the other way round people wouldn't bat an eyelid.

I suppose my only concern from a business perspective would be what would happen with your work load if you took a turn for the worst, but that's their decision to make and it sounds like they're happy to take that.

Go for it x

TipBoov · 08/08/2016 14:57

I've taken a screenshot of the order I placed, showing I ordered the actual pod. Fingers crossed that is what turns up!

weechops · 08/08/2016 16:03

Had my scan. Baby was being awkward so I had to go eat chocolate and jump around a bit Grin

We are having a girl!!! 2 of each now Grin

franco my need to be organised swayed me into finding out Grin

Popskipiekin · 08/08/2016 16:38

Bristol yes all my kicks are low central/low right. Bump is huge so don't know why he's burying himself just down there! I wouldn't say the kicks are very strong though, or frequent - which is just another thing to worry about. I had anterior placenta last time and didn't really feel many kicks until 25 weeks, by which time they were strong and regular. Now I'm feeling them earlier (22 weeks now, felt first definite kick at 18 weeks) but they seem teeny tiny and I can go 12 hours+ without feeling one. I know he's still very small still (btw kitkat we are team blue!! another boy, I'm going to be so outnumbered Grin) but it worries me. And as soon as it does, I feel another kick... :)

goinggrey1978 · 08/08/2016 17:11

Been to see the thyroid and baby doctors this morning, she's not worried about my levels but I'm going back to see her again at 29weeks in October, couldn't go at 28weeks as I already have my anti d injection then and i have a growth scan and consultant appointment at 34weeks I'm November to check everything, all these appointments are because of my thyroid, and my dad was pleased as now he gets to bring my mum for a scan as he was gobsmacked at how detailed the 20weeks scan was when we went last Tuesday!!

StubbleTurnips · 08/08/2016 18:47

I confirmed with Amazon today that I'll be getting the pod, so fingers crossed. If it's just the cover then I'll send it back.

Had the first consultant appt today, massive waste of time tbh as my 'risk' factors didn't meet the criteria for referral (bmi) so he wasn't sure why I was there. Had a urine test and was sent away, they'll scan me at 36w apparently for baby's presentation.

SeashellHoarder · 08/08/2016 19:01

Elodie I would have a very detailed check up / scan first and make sure you're covered for insurance and then absolutely go for it!
That's such an exciting opportunity, as it's for such a short time and dh may not be working, could you all go?

zazie7 · 08/08/2016 19:31

Elodie, I read your other thread, that sounds like an amazing opportunity. I would definitely do it, it would be much easier to do something like that now than when you have the new baby as well and it sounds like your DH is very supportive.

Theaks · 08/08/2016 20:20

Wow I have missed a lot. Just read through about 12 pages worth.

BristolLFR · 08/08/2016 22:31

I cannot stop eating. I'm hungry every two hours and really struggling not to graze constantly. I've just had to have toast before coming to bed as I know the hunger will keep me awake otherwise!

We only need an extra 2-300 calories in the final trimester apparently, why am I hungry all the bloody time?

ElodieS · 09/08/2016 07:48

Welcome Tinkly!

Thanks bristol, seashell and zazie! We had a long chat about it last night and pending insurance and doctor's sign off I'm going to go for it! I'm hoping I'll hear back about that stuff in the next day or so then can start talking to DDs about it. Exciting!

Congratulations on the scan and joining team pink again weechops! And on team blue popski!

I'm definitely eating more than I need to as well, I think as long as it isn't terribly unhealthy stuff it can't be too bad.

SolomanDaisy · 09/08/2016 11:03

Amazon have the Chicago next 2 me in fuchsia for £149 today, which is the cheapest I've seen it anywhere in any colour.

Bigfam · 09/08/2016 11:13

Bounty have an offer on for the chicco at the moment £149 (same as amazon) but with two free fitted sheets, the sheets are shockingly expensive if you buy the proper chicco ones 😮

Bigfam · 09/08/2016 11:26

My phone auto corrects to Chicago as well Soloman 😆

Nojo82 · 09/08/2016 12:26

Had my scan this morning, baby looking nice and healthy. Team blue again lol. Not meant to have girls I suppose but I'm happy with my wee boy. EDD changed to 25th December too..

SeashellHoarder · 09/08/2016 12:37

Great news Nojo the best Christmas present ever!

Grapefruit8 · 09/08/2016 13:41

Afternoon all! Just wondering is anyone else feeling uncomfortable? Yesterday and today ive got bad stretching pains left hand side of my bump. Seeing midwife tomorrow, assuming it's just ligament stretching but could not get comfy yesterday at all.

veryfriendlylion · 09/08/2016 14:19

Hi grapefruit - I had this a couple of days ago- sort of pulling pains in my back/tummy. Trusty Google tells me this can just be round ligament pain again, my tummy has certainly become increasingly round in the past couple of days so putting it down to this. Doing my best at being worry free!

Congratulations on the scan Nojo - did they change EDD based on measurements? I naively thought it stayed the same from the one they gave at the 12 week scan!

I've changed my username from francophile1989 - EDD 26/12 team yellow Smile

Lovewatchingrainfall · 09/08/2016 14:39

Yes I have been suffering with ligament pain. And stupid dreams that wake me up at 3am and then I don't sleep again. I keep dreaming I go into labour at 25w I bloody hope not as I'm only 22w.

Has anyone thought about packing there hospital bag or do you think it's crazy early.

Congratulations on all the positive scans.

Bigfam · 09/08/2016 14:51

I don't think they change due dates very often once you're given a due date at the 12 week scan do they?

I haven't packed mine yet (but don't think it's too early) because I'm waiting on my hospital bag to arrive 😆 if anyone's looking for nice hospital bags tripp are having a sale at the moment and they've got lovely holdalls and cases for really reasonable prices.
Is ligament pain the excruciating stitch in your stomach thing?! Owwwww

Lovewatchingrainfall · 09/08/2016 15:17

Oh BigFam thanks for that I shall have a look on the website. As I don't like the idea of using my husbands small star wars suitcase as was his suggestion.

In relation to food yes I do nothing but graze. However a big sharing packet of crisps does not get shared. No other cravings which is good. How about anyone else.

Nojo82 · 09/08/2016 15:23

The lady who did the scan said based on my babys measurements I would be due 24th Dec and that I was already the 25th. I thought I was 25th all along until at my booking appointment they said I had it wrong and it was 27th. So it was the midwife who booked me in had it wrong..

Very excited to get shopping now, had a wee browse after the scan.

Popskipiekin · 09/08/2016 15:24

I don't know what pains I've got exactly - both sides of my groin ache and wake me up every time I move in bed, and make me hobble when I walk - I look like I've got the pregnancy waddle!

Anyone got experience with gestational diabetes? ---->>

At our 21 week scan all was going well - and still absolutely is well, just have a small niggle - until the sonographer was at her desk pulling together the report and said "oooh, fatty baby!" Hmm Wasn't sure what she was going on about, apart from calling my baby a chubba, but turns out his tummy/torso is 92nd centile whereas every other bit of him between 30th-50th so she thinks I may be going down the gestational diabetes route. She got me to get back up on the couch and re-measured but got same thing. Did anyone get this kind of result/comment at the scan, or have GD in a previous pregnancy? She hasn't diagnosed GD or sent me for any blood tests - says to wait until seeing midwife at 28 weeks - so until then (of my own accord, she didn't advise this) I'm following the diet and exercise advice for if I did have GD, although bit confused as I do eat and exercise well anyway.....
