I get a little nudge when I stand too close to think the sink whilst washing up, I accidently lean my lower belly on it and she kicks as if to say I'm squashing her Grin

goinggrey1978 · 26/08/2016 22:07

Well funnily enough bubble has a dislike to me laying on my left side to fall asleep and fidgets so much until I switch sides and lay on my right hand side!!

TipBoov · 26/08/2016 22:39

Wow I can't believe we're all getting so close to the third trimester!

25+3 today, and had the follow up scan, baby is now all in proportion and head circumference is no longer under 5th percentile, she's 25th for all measurements.

My blood pressure was slightly high but it was probably a combination of worry about the scan, and the argument me and DH had in the car, very petty, about the choice of radio station Blush which made me cry!

Managed to get some lovely Emile et Rose clothes from TK Maxx - bargains!

lily thats good news cant beleive how quick time is flying im 23 weeks today, i just want to cry cant believe ive got this far! and that sounds so good you can squeeze til jan 18 off, think i might try for that but probably would use alllll my annual to do that then id be left from jan-june with no annual sad

I'm really lucky that my annual leave year runs January to December. I am taking my remaining 2 weeks for this year at the end of November then immediately commencing my maternity leave, then the 8 weeks I've accrued after 49 weeks of maternity leave, meaning I'm due back at work on 9th Jan 2018 and entitled to a fresh new year of annual leave entitlement. I could take the extra 3 weeks maternity leave and my leave 3 weeks later, to then come back at the end of January, but 1) I like the idea of coming back fresh after Christmas hols in January, it just seems the ideal time to come back and 2) we are really going to struggle on the 10 weeks unpaid maternity leave, eeking it out to 13 weeks just seems impossible. So I'm really happy with the above!

nojo I was told to track movement after 28 weeks. They also won't put you on the monitor yet at the hospital, they will only listen with a doppler.
I start worrying I haven't felt movement then she gives a right wallop as if to say 'stop stressing!'

London I really want a co sleeper as I love the idea of not actually having to get out of bed to feed, and being able to settle them whilst being in bed... But we've been kindly given an Amny hammock (just need a new mattress) so it seems wasteful to buy a co sleeper as well.

Tip I've been having pains that feel like pulling/tearing, round the sides at the bottom of the bump, especially when moving position when sitting/lying. Really starting to get uncomfortable now, people keep remarking that the bump has really grown in the last week and I feel huge - still got 3 months to go through?! Shock

Stubble I thought 3rd trimester was 28 weeks, but that still probably matches with 27+1 being in your '28th week'.

Insomnia seems to have returned. Just this week I've been waking around 4am and not successfully getting back to sleep. At least today isn't a work day!!!!

25+1 today, can't quite believe I've got this far. Managed to tell a few friends (those who I haven't seen) that I'm pg this week. Given my history (and probably the cautious way I told them) I got more 'good luck', 'thinking of you' and 'fingers crossed' than wild celebration, but I suppose that's just reflecting my own anxiety!!

I'm another one that likes bright colour, and preferably stripes of it!!! I have a whole chest of drawers full of white and pink vests and babygros though, passed on from a friend, so it seems a waste to go out and buy anything. I just tell myself that from 6 months onwards she'll be in rainbow colours! I love the dye but I'm not sure I have the patience (or more likely right now the energy). Perhaps I'll get bored on maternity leave in November and do some then!!! I could dye all the pink stuff Grin.

SolomanDaisy · 27/08/2016 07:59

Tip, that's brilliant that the growth has evened out! It must be such a relief! Do you get any follow up scans?

StubbleTurnips · 27/08/2016 08:15

Great news Tip, bet you're relieved.

I've got some machine dyes instead of bucket ones so will update when I do mine. I got DD lots of bright clothes from Frugi during the sales - Boots mini club also do some fab bright baby clothes, MIL was most put out that she wasn't in pastel pinks and frills. Bright dungarees, lots of Scandi type stuff (PoP) and rompers all the way for her first year.

Grapefruit8 · 27/08/2016 08:48

Stubble oh I love love LOVE the frugi stuff! it's so bright and different

Londonmamabychance · 27/08/2016 12:43

Just want to tell everyone who may be worrying about little movement how different this pregnancy is to my first. With DD I could go half days and not feel anything, and her movements were always rather calm and slow and I started to feel them quite late on. I was always stressing about it, and went in for her heartbeat to be listened to three times in a right stress! Each time she was fine and she was born perfect and on time. This time I feel the baby at least every hour and have been from around 18 weeks, and felt movement even earlier. I have this theory that the baby's personality shows already in the womb, and my DD is a very calm child, whereas I'm expecting this new one to be super energetic, if movements are anything to go by. Loads of my friends said that very wriggly babies in the womb became super energetic babies and toddlers, so Think it could be true. Of course there's also things like your weight and having anterior or posterior placenta, but with both DD and this one I have a posterior placenta and I am quite slim and haven't changed since having DD. All that said, I think your peace of mind is the most important thing, so if you need to call the midwife or go in to listened to in order to feel better, don't hesitate and don't worry about seeming too much, your pregnant and the only thing we have to go by to know baby is okay is movements, so I'd say do anything to feel reassured if you need to, it helped me so much to go in and have DD's heartbeat listened to when I was nervous. Just to say, feeling little movement can be completely normal!

stripeyorangesocks71 · 27/08/2016 13:17

Barking I love the Miabambina one Grin

My SwaddleDesigns blankets just arrived, got one free in my Amazon goody box and fell in love with it so I've ordered Peanut a further Muslin swaddle and Ultimate swaddle Grin just couldn't resist! http://www.swaddledesigns.co.uk check them out! There is a few items on sale on there but Amazon also stock them. They are so soft and lovely Smile

Brisgirl · 27/08/2016 14:46

Hey everyone - slow catching up as usual but so nice to hear news and love some good name chat!
bristol and apple I'm in Bristol too and not far from either of you - currently Greenbank and moving to Downend. Weston and Bath not far either which is fab! My March 2015 group is lovely but not one single other mummy in the south west and I'm always jealous of their meet ups.

TipBoov · 27/08/2016 16:55

Soloman no, no more scans now which should be a relief but in a way it's more of a worry...! I might have a 4D scan in a few weeks though, it would be nice to show DS too.

stripey Are the muslin swaddles bigger than normal muslins? I haven't taken mine out the box yet because it looks so nicely packaged!!

Went to Next today and I found a lovely [[http://www.next.co.uk/g535114s10#886609 orange fleece blanket]. It feels so soft...so, I had to get it. DH thinks I'm a little bit insane but I think that's probably ok. Our nursery is green/orange/white, so it fits quite nicely. Grin

Bigfam · 27/08/2016 17:34

tipboov glad to hear your scan news, I'm also thinking of booking a 4d scan so dd3 can see. Are the boots baby clothes available online? None of the stores near me stock clothes.

Dp has taken it upon himself to decide what baby will be called (I was continuously flitting between the two names Grin ) he had this hairbrush and hair locket box made today 😊

bigfam yes, like this gorgeous romper for £2!!

cnchapmanxx · 27/08/2016 18:05

bigfam romy is such a lovely name :)

lily that's excellent how your annual leave falls. Really really lucky haha! I'm June-June I've only got 3 weeks remaining between now & when I go on maternity leave. So going to use them first then start my mat leave! Then il accrue all my public holidays and bank holidays so that's 9 plus my 26 days so I could potentially go back November but we shall see! really should get my finger out and decide when I should go on mat leave haha!

Bigfam · 27/08/2016 18:34

😍 barking I love that off to boots online to spend more £

SolomanDaisy · 27/08/2016 18:35

I'm quite tempted by a 4d scan, as DS is desperate to see the baby. We got an amazing photo of her face at my scan this week, looking straight at the machine. She has the same face shape as DS!

Anyone looking for a car seat that meets the new isize laws, Boots have a brilliant offer on at the minute. If you buy the Joie anchor advance (a 0-4 seat) you get the base free. There's a code for 10% off and triple points. You can also get the gemm, the portable baby seat, to go on the same seat.

SolomanDaisy · 27/08/2016 18:36

The same base that should say!

stripeyorangesocks71 · 27/08/2016 18:37

TipBoov they are sized as XL and seem really big to me, they a especially designed for swaddling. But not having bought any others I wouldn't know if they were any bigger - sorry!

I'm also going for a 4D scan as well, managed to get a groupon deal for one which I'll probably book for mid/end Sept. Can't wait!

lilydaisyrose · 27/08/2016 19:41

What's the new isize laws please Soloman?

SolomanDaisy · 27/08/2016 19:57

New EU wide regulations enforcing higher car seat safety standards, including side impact protection, isofix and longer rear facing. They become law in 2018, but I really want something that meets the standards now.
