weechops what blood group are you? I've been waiting at the hospital for two hours now for my anti d as the midwife told me any knock at all meant I should get the jab (rhesus negative).
I was under the assumption it was just if there was bleeding, but apparently not...

goinggrey1978 · 19/08/2016 18:00

Barkingtreefrog, I'm getting my anti d injection on 26/9/16, midwife described it as routine because I'm rhesus negative too, is it not routine??

becciandbump · 19/08/2016 18:06

loosey that sounds worrying I'll be saying some prayers for your little one. Sounds like you are being monitored closely. Let us know how you get on over coming weeks if you feel able to share will be thinking of you x

weechops · 19/08/2016 18:07

barking I'm O positive so just bog standard blood Smile Thanks for thinking of me though.

lilydaisyrose · 19/08/2016 18:11

Re. whoIping cough - advice differs depending on where you live. Here in Scotland we are advised to have in anytime after 16w - I had mine mid July.

lilydaisyrose · 19/08/2016 18:11

*whooping

Bella1985 · 19/08/2016 18:19

Same here lily - advice in Wales is anytime after 16 weeks for whooping cough. I had mine at 16+6

Minispringroll · 19/08/2016 18:23

My sleepyhead arrived this morning. Didn't speak to any manager (the lady I was chatting to must have done, though, to get it authorised and reduce the price manually when I re-ordered) and didn't actually argue or tell them anything about being disappointed. I think I was quite calm and polite...Hmm Not sure whether me having been a Prime customer for several years had anything to do with it...or whether the lady was just really lovely and helpful and I was simply lucky. I've got my 25 week appt on Wed and the midwife said that's when she'll arrange for the whooping cough and anti-d jabs together. #pincushion

Lovewatchingrainfall · 19/08/2016 18:42

So I don't know if you remember when I had my 20weeks scan I was given an envelope with the sex on. Well I caved yesterday and opened it only for it to say that they can't be 100% either way so a list of who thought what. I was so disappointed.
Anyway told my husband today that I opened it and that they didn't say either way, and he went mad at me telling me I should not have opened it and it was my own stupid fault. I just sat there and cried... He has made me feel awful I know he is tired as he has been really busy at work lately. But still.

On a different note thank you for all the heads up on the baby sales.

Received a letter today about having the diabetes test. Does anyone know what it entails?

Sorry to hear about all the problems people are having sending you all flowers.

firawla · 19/08/2016 19:31

lovewatching that's so disappointing, and a bit ott of your dh to react like that! Do you think you'll find out if you end up having any extra growth scans or anything?

I've had the gtt test a few times now. It's not too bad just takes ages! U need to fast (no food only water) for 12 hours before then you go in and get blood taken, then drink this yuck lucazade type stuff and sit for 2 hours (amuse yourself on mn or candy crush etc!!) and have the blood tested again to see how you reacted to the glucose. If either your fasting blood is high or the 2nd one, then they would diagnose gestational diabetes. I had it last time and was on insulin but it was all fine! I had the test this time at 16 weeks and it came back okay so repeating at 28 just to be on the safe side. At my Hosp they even give you a free sandwich after the test is finished which I thought was really kind! I think it's because if you're driving back home they want you to eat it first to make sure you're feeling okay and not too starved. Good luck with it!

springroll nice one about the sleepy head!

StubbleTurnips · 19/08/2016 20:02

Nice one springroll I tried being nice to Amazon but I'm getting nowhere with it. They've now deleted from my account the fact I'd ever even ordered - one so I must be a massive PITA!

Thisisbonkers · 19/08/2016 20:04

Midwife never mention whooping cough jab at today's appointment 😕 Didn't know to ask about it. On the list for appointment in three weeks!

SolomanDaisy · 19/08/2016 20:07

I'm having the diabetes test and it's basically an all day thing here (not in UK). Three lots of blood tests at various points throughout the day. Luckily there's no lucozade involved, just eating normal meals. I'm not looking forward to the fast though, I feel shaky and starving every morning!

I've started this thread today:

Already getting some hilarious responses, actually looking forward to the birth!

BristolLFR · 19/08/2016 21:23

BristolLFR · 19/08/2016 21:58

Azure83 · 19/08/2016 21:59

bristol thank you for contributions as well! The response has been brilliant, gotta love mumsnet!

Looseyloo411 · 19/08/2016 22:35

Thank you for all the lovely messages! XxxFlowersFlowers

Good news from the scan, one side of his chest has almost drained and the other is following not far behind, still high risk but in the consultants words 'you are a million miles from where you were 3 weeks ago when we were certain it was the end for baby' staying positive as that's all I can do really.
Too terrified to buy anything though
Can't find who asked about delivering early, im not sure, when they operated the consultant was 99% I wouldn't make 40 weeks but as long as I get to 34/32 very minimum he said it was manageable.. They won't discuss anything birth related as its so far from where he currently is xx

veryfriendlylion · 19/08/2016 22:47

That's great news, Loosey, it sounds cliché but you just need to take every day as it comes and celebrate the small victories - you'll get there!

veryfriendlylion · 19/08/2016 22:55

Is it irrational for me to feel annoyed with unsolicited bump touches?! MIL is staying with us for few days and keeps grabbing my tummy and saying 'oh I'm not someone who does this to people'..and then continues to hold my tummy!?

I'm trying to work out how not to scream GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME...please tell me I'm not being a cow?

BristolLFR · 19/08/2016 22:56

What a relief loosey. Fingers crossed baby keeps heading in the right direction x

Thisisbonkers · 19/08/2016 23:21

Continued thoughts loosey

LittleBear01 · 20/08/2016 07:06

Very pleased to hear your good news Loosey X

StubbleTurnips · 20/08/2016 07:34

One day at a time Loosey, good news so far. 32w isn't that far off.

Lion this happened only once with me, just be as dead pan as you can - armed with a death stare all I needed to say was do not touch me again.
