Not sure if this has already been asked but thoughts on snuzpods please?

firawla · 16/08/2016 23:56

goinggrey I used cow and gate with my eldest - was always happiest with it! I don't think it matters which though as long as you stick with any one brand for consistency.

dubx I'm hoping to pop into the Morrison baby event tomorrow. I couldn't see much about it online so need to go in and have a browse

veryfriendlylion · 17/08/2016 01:41

Gaaah having a no sleep kind of night. Just don't feel tired despite struggling to keep my eyes open all day, what's that about!?

Not helped by the fact that we have FIL coming tomorrow (he is v strange/possessive) and then MIL and her husband coming on Friday to stay. DH gets very wound up and stressed but we see them because 'we should'...here goes nothing, wish me luck!

Bigfam · 17/08/2016 03:56

veryfriendlylion me too, wish my 3/4am body alarm would bugger off now, it's really annoying me 😠

bumbleclat · 17/08/2016 04:11

Hi all I've got the 3:30/4:00 body alarm too, I wonder why this keeps happening?

peanutbutter2409 · 17/08/2016 07:20

Me too, but today I was awake from 1.30 - 4, so have had a total of 4.5hrs sleep. Just mean!!

BowSurprise · 17/08/2016 07:30

Is anyone else getting light headed especially in the mornings? After my fainting episodes not sure what's normal now.
Thanks

Azure83 · 17/08/2016 08:33

friendlylion same here! Falling asleep on the train from work, waking up at 3am. Confused
Good luck with the in-laws. We've overdone it recently and decided to spread them out a bit more in the future. Just too stressful..

cnchapmanxx · 17/08/2016 09:16

stubble that is amazing a whole year and 2 months off!! think the most il get is to november i think :( wish i could have the whole year off but pennies will be sparce!

duxb my local morrisons ran out of the motorola monitors so i got my mam to get mine at hers! bargain for £39! considering we were looking at ones for £150! Shock

Theaks · 17/08/2016 09:35

I ordered some lovely baby clothes from sainsburys TU 25% off at present!

pacificlass · 17/08/2016 09:47

Wow- this thread moves quickly. All good here. 20 week scan all fine but had a scare with our 4 year old after she had a febrile convulsion following a fever. First time it's ever happened to us but all the tests have come back clear so hoping it was a one-off.

Back to work tomorrow after holiday leave. My bump has definitely popped. Now looks like baby bump, rather than simply that I'd eaten too many pies. Was hoping to stay under the radar a bit longer but looks unlikely now.

StubbleTurnips · 17/08/2016 11:15

cnc I have no idea how we'll be able to afford the unpaid section, but last time we managed without using our savings so I'm going for it. No savings this time as we've had a new kitchen!!
I work in a very masculine / technology based field too, so it's frowned upon to take a year - but I don't care with Turnip2. Put myself out a lot last time on mat leave for them for nothing but stress.

cnchapmanxx · 17/08/2016 11:46

stubble hahaha you made me laugh then saying turnip2 haha! good on you girl :) i work for the gov and would love not to go back!! but my mam said we will survive and scrape through everyone does!
we have no savings either although were going to try from september onwards to put away at least £300 to cover the last 3 months il get at half pay and il try to do as much o/t as i can without breaking down!!. we dont qualify for tax credits, so will just be CHB. although dont really want to touch that as its for the child.. but yes remeber to take care of yourself and the mini turnips xx

TinyTickler · 17/08/2016 12:02

These monitors are on offer in Morrisons atm and seem good value...

Thanks for all the formula advise everyone!! I know how you all feel about the waking up at silly o'clock, as it's usually a wee, but the bubble thinks it's fidget and gymnastics time for at least an hour, it's quite hard to ignore unfortunately!! It's bubbles most active time of the day right now!!

bumbleclat · 17/08/2016 13:31

I went for my hypnobirthing class yesterday and am already really looking forward to the birth, I hadn't realised how many fears I had until I looked at them consciously.
I did have really horrible nightmares last night though, I don't know if they were related to the class?

duxb · 17/08/2016 13:55

Chapman I know - complete bargain. We've plugged ours in and the video/sound quality is great too. We knew we wanted a video monitor but we're trying to justify the £100 or so, given I have legs and could walk upstairs but it was a no brainier at that price.

Insertwitticismhere · 17/08/2016 16:11

Grapefruit8 we had a Snuzpod for dd1 and loved it. It is currently being used by my youngest niece but will be back with us for dd2. Lasted much longer than a moses basket would have, dd1 slept in it till 6 months - was nice to be able to use it as a travel cot too as it is at bed height (as opposed to her current travel cot which is floor level and a long way down to lift her out from!)

englishgirl · 17/08/2016 18:30

Hi all, I haven't been around for a while but missing the chats!

I think it may be easier for me to join the Facebook group. Can anyone tell me how to do this please?

Thanks Smile

zazie7 · 17/08/2016 18:53

The baby monitor looks like a great offer. We have already got ours though, went for one with a motion sensor mat from Angelcare. Might call in at Morrisons and see what other bargains they have.

Am with you all on waking up in the night, seem to wake up every night at around 4am for an hour or so. I suppose at least it is getting me used to the sleepless nights a bit for when the baby is here!

I have also been working out my dates for maternity pay. Because of various different circumstances I'm taking some of my leave before the due date and have quite a bit of annual leave to take beforehand as well so only have a month left to work. Think I will go back when baby is 9-10 months old. I found out my work offer to split the pay equally over the months I take off rather than starting off on full pay and then going to SMP then nothing so that should make it feel a bit easier.

Minispringroll · 17/08/2016 19:33

Back from holiday and we've had a lovely time. Weather was ok and I am starting to get warm much more quickly. (I usually love hot weather and don't start getting warm until we hit the 30-35 degrees mark.) DH seems to be great at finding places where I have to walk up hills or loads of steps. Confused He did wait for me a lot and kept telling me that I'm not really that slow...Grin On one day, we managed about 10 miles along the coast...but I was getting rather fed up and grumpy towards the end. Yesterday, we nearly got trapped by the tide on our way back (not as dangerous as it sounds...I'm a very strong swimmer and used to be a lifeguard...just didn't want to get my shorts wet wading through water Grin ), so I found myself climbing over rocks. Bump seems to go to sleep whenever we're walking anywhere...and then kicks me quite happily once we're back in the car. I'm just amazed at the people, who seemed to camp out without much concern in those little bays while the tide was coming in...some with babies and toddlers. Shock If we'd left it any later, we really would have struggled to get back...and it was still 4 hours until high tide.

School doesn't start back until September and then I'll most likely be off from the end of October until the following September. 34 weeks looks like an early start to maternity leave but I don't see the benefit of going in for longer...I'd come back at the same time regardless. Hmm

Thisisbonkers · 17/08/2016 19:47

If junior doesn't stop kicking my bladder I'm going to throttle them Grin

I should get my matb1 on Friday. I can't believe I'm 24 weeks and a bit! Where has the time gone?!

Grapefruit8 · 17/08/2016 19:50

Insert that's good to know, thank you! I also managed to nab one of the Motorola baby monitors from morrisons, so pleased about that. Trying to compile a list of everything we've bought so far and everything we still need to buy, harder than I anticipated!

SouthDownsSunshine · 17/08/2016 19:54

I've just had they monitor delivered as part of an amazon bundle with a heart monitor. But my friend (a health visitor) told me today that I'll be offered a heart monitor anyway, so I'm tempted to return the bundle and send dh to morrisons.

SouthDownsSunshine · 17/08/2016 20:22

I had my next midwife appointment today. From now on they're every 3 weeks, time is starting to fly! All ok with me and baby. I'm struggling with antenatal depression a bit, but I've self referred for counselling (waiting to hear) and don't want to take anti ds in pregnancy. Midwife told me not to worry and I could take them, but I'd prefer not to. She also said given everything that's happening, I should just get myself signed off work - but I think that working is a good distraction.
