So sorry Busy
Yeyyy congrats Puggleface & Allaboutthecake13 - Birthday triplets!! :-)
Puggleface - the Drs went on the first date of my last period and said 6+5 (1st July) but on the due date calculator it told me i was due 14th April as i have 35 day cycles, so i think that's the more accurate one, so i'm probably the same as you.
I have no idea with the midwife appointment at all, other than i know that the community midwife comes to my drs surgery every Thursday pm, so i'm hoping that i get a call then. xx

Puggleface · 17/08/2016 13:20

Ohhhh I see it will be to do with the cycle lengh! Gotcha! Wink
I saw my GP this morning. Its all usually pretty straight forward there but I'm refusing to see the same midwife I had last time so I'm awaiting a call from the community team. My GP's also done my consultant referal and my 12 week scan referal. It seems like all systems go!

Allaboutthecake13 · 17/08/2016 13:24

Oh that seems very organised puggle. I am glad they're ensuring you don't have to deal with a midwife you don't want to deal with.

The nurse that I saw last week just moaned about having to fill in forms (me and DH turned up quite excited, so it was very anticlimactic!) and sent me off with a bounty pack and said to wait to hear from the MW (no indication of timeframes). This is all new to me, so it wasn't the most helpful!

katemarob17 · 17/08/2016 13:29

Wow seems like you both got more than me. I had my blood pressure taken and she listened to my heartbeat and basically sent me off and said the midwife would be in touch about everything else.....hence why i joined here as we are going in blind as all new to us and we've not told anyone yet so can't talk to anyone about it. My DH is dreading telling the parents as he thinks they'll be like leaches forever Grin
I'm hoping the midwifes are lovely in Lincoln as 9 months is a long time being with someone awful.

jpeg28 · 17/08/2016 13:42

Last time when I saw the GP she basically looked at me like "why are you here?", it was my first time and had no idea what I was doing, she did nothing. Then when I got to 7 weeks I had a MC and again no help, I later found out I never even got referred to midwife! Hoping this time will be better, I think we have to be quite forceful!

Allaboutthecake13 · 17/08/2016 14:10

Oh Jpeg that's awful, so sorry for you. I think if

It does seem a bit of a confusing system. I think if I haven't heard from a midwife by this time next week, I'll chase.

JennyOfOldstones · 17/08/2016 14:15

I had to see the GP last time so she could nag me about folic acid, not sure why the midwife couldn't do that. I never saw the same midwife twice I don't think. They were good though when my BP shot up towards the end I had lots of extra appointments. I know they see you less often with your second but that is fine by me. I think I book in at 10 weeks and they do the scan referral then.

StillaChocoholic · 17/08/2016 15:45

Joining you guys, I've known for a couple of weeks but found out just before going on holiday and things were pretty hectic. I've finally managed to see the doctor and get my notes, now waiting to hear from the midwife to arrange my booking in appointment.
This is my second baby, due 3rd.
I've got a 3 year old son who will turn 4 a couple weeks after this one is due. Can't wait Grin

ChatEnOeuf · 17/08/2016 15:47

Back from scan: there's a tiny little bean in there, with a tiny little heartbeat! Next scan at 9w and all being well, I'll be referred to my obstetric consultant straight away.

Re: kids knowing - yes! DD has known about each of the last three pregnancies before me. This time, it was in the queue at border control when she announced to the whole room ten or so people around us thatI had a baby in my tummy. Given I was about 5dpo at the time, it's impressive. She never does that kind of thing when I'm not pregnant.

Puggleface · 17/08/2016 15:49

Oh Chat congratulations thats excellent news! I've been thinking about you! How far along are you now?

choccybiscuit · 17/08/2016 17:11

Fatigue has really kicked in now. So tired! Dd2 is playing in her room while I'm nearly falling asleep at on the sofa. I've somehow got to muster up the energy to do dinner Hmm
Also I seemed to extra hungry today, I had to buy a extra sandwich from Marks on the way home from work. I hope this doesn't carry on as I'll be the size of a house soon!

Theknittinggorilla · 17/08/2016 17:24

So I worked from home today, finished my work and thought I would take advantage and have a lie down as I am shattered.
Fell asleep for two hours and now feel absolutely horrendous. I remember this from last time, if i ever gave into the tiredness and slept in the day it was not worth it for how bad I then felt in the hour after I woke up. Eurgh.
Will not be doing that again - need to power on and go to bed early if the fatigue hits but no sleeping in the day. Now have to feel human again and go and get the ds from nursery.

On the plus side, I have worked out today that if all goes well with this pregnancy I can leave work at the end of Jan (not planning to go back) which means with holidays and working part time I would only have 75 working days left! Not that I'm getting ahead of myself....

Helbelle75 · 17/08/2016 17:26

So sorry busy be kind to yourself as

Kate I'm in Lincoln too! Injd to go to the epu at the hospital when I had mmc earlier in the year and everyone there was lovely. I only saw midwife once but she was lovely too.

Great news chatenoeuf, I bet that was really exciting!

I'm carrying on with Slimming World choccybiscuit so I can eat lots! I put on so much weight last time so determined to gain weight healthily this time rather than through chocolate!

Bubbinsmakesthree · 17/08/2016 17:35

They were giving away mini cans of Coke at my train station - I'm cutting back on caffeine but can't resist a freebie - but it has made me feel absolutely dreadful! I've gone shaky and wobbly.

Muffin7 · 17/08/2016 17:58

Cake, when I found out I was pregnant I rang the doctors and got booked in with the midwife, my appointment is next week when I believe I will be 9 weeks.

Muffin7 · 17/08/2016 18:01

Still chocoholic - looks like we are sharing a due date Smile

Theknittinggorilla · 17/08/2016 18:32

bubbins coke was my saviour through the worst of the nausea with dc2. Hope you are feeling better now!

ChatEnOeuf · 17/08/2016 19:23

Thanks, Puggle. I'm 6 weeks now, next scan is in 3w, all being well. EDD will be around 12th-14th, though I'll be a preterm induction (DS was born at 36 weeks, I'm so frightened of seeing those numbers again). I'm mostly frightened about the whole thing, though!

JennyOfOldstones · 17/08/2016 19:35

Fab news Chat Smile

SloanePeterson · 17/08/2016 19:37

Sneaking in here to say hello. I'm due on 8th April, it will be dc4. I'm dreading a few people's reactions as we'll now be a 'larger' family but trying to keep positive. Not feeling too ropey yet, a bit of nausea now and then, definitely more queasy in the head than the stomach if that makes any sense. My boobs have already grown a lot though, I'm going to have to go shopping soon for that reason alone. We were undecided about going for another score so got rid of all our baby equipment last year so having to start from scratch. We're going to London this weekend, just me and dh so I'm praying the real sickness isn't about to kick in so that I can actually enjoy it. Biggest worry atm is keeping a toilet near, I totally forgot just how often I'd have to pee!

naranciata · 17/08/2016 20:01

I still can't keep anything down. Properly dehydrated now with unhealthy orange wee. Begged the pharmacist to give me some anti emetics earlier but she couldn't. She also thought the doctor wouldn't be able to help. Any thoughts? I feel really gross. Two days it's been now.

smiles01 · 17/08/2016 20:55

I got to see a heartbeat today at 8 weeks exactly. We also told my mum and sister. It's all starting to feel a lot more real!

smiles01 · 17/08/2016 20:57

naranciata I'm the same, I phoned my GP and he prescribed sickness meds which are starting to work. Definitely give your doctors a call.

finova · 17/08/2016 21:08

Naran
When children are dehydrated I've been told to give regular teaspoons of water. Maybe try that till you can get to the Dr.
Jelly also helps hydrate you, so might be worth a shot.
You must feel awful.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 17/08/2016 21:14

Definitely contact your Dr if the sickness is causing you to become that dehydrated - it is really not good for you, especially when pregnant.

Last time I was pregnant I was 'nil by mouth' for 24hrs before a procedure - I ended up so dehydrated I was put on an IV fluids drip! A friend who had HG was frequently admitted for IV fluids.
