Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
honeyapple · 08/03/2007 17:47

Hi MrsFish,

I have no maternity clothes- gave them all away after DD... along with everything else. Have to start from scratch this time. I think my sister may have an old cot lurking in her attic, and I do still have a buggy- but it is very knackered.

ejt1764 · 08/03/2007 17:47

Have just been to have my waxing done - felt so crappy last time I went she only did my eyebrows and lip - was feeling sufficiently ok today that she did the lot (1/2 leg, bikini, underarm, eyebrows, no lip - I have a big spot!) Oooh I was feeling so unbelievably hairy! feel much more human and much less yeti-like now.

Honeyapple - I don't have an allotment or even a very big garden ... what we do have is the side return of our house, which we have converted into a long thin veg patch, together with tiny greenhouse! Where we used to live we had no room for veg - I was determined to grow my own when we moved. Having the veg down the side of the house means that ds can happily play rugby in the back garden (we've built raised beds to guard against the plants being tackled too heavily) without me worrying that he will kill the veg. ds loves growing his own ...

nux vom is a homeopathic remedy - good for morning sickness if you're a me sort of person - the remedies are always tailored to the type of person you are. When I was pg with ds, I took sepia and that helped - nux vom had no effect whatsoever - just shows me that this pg is totally different to that of ds ...

feeling less paranoid now, as have spent the afternoon dry heaving at everything adn nothing. It's wonderful having a conversation with me at the moment.

Mrs Fish - good luck with your scan next week.

MrsMc - you will be a wonderful mum.

I'm off to choir tonight - it's our penultimate rehearsal before the big day - I've been taking part in a TV programme on S4C called codi canu - they've put together 4 mixed choirs and we're competing for the chance to sing the anthem at the Wales England game on 17th March ... I'm defintely singing on the pitch, but it would be wonderful to sing the anthem!

Right going to try ds's scones he's baked with dh to cheer me up. DS calls me his princess - it's lovely being the only girl in the house!

honeyapple · 08/03/2007 17:51

Ejt- OUCH!!! Underarms as well! Cor that must be SOOOO painful.

Good luck with choir practise- don't throw up on the high notes!

MillyM · 08/03/2007 17:52

Can I tentatively sign up here please? I've mostly been hanging around on the limbo thread with MrsMcJnr et al. Went for a scan at 6+5 because of cramping and some bleeding. They saw a little baked bean with a heartbeat so told me all was ok. Still having a few cramps but so far no more significant bleeding. If all goes to plan then I'm looking at a due date of October 25th. I'm now going to flip this thread and get reading!

honeyapple · 08/03/2007 17:56

Hi Milly, I have read some of the posts on MrsMcJnr's thread. Glad to hear you are feeling better, and fingers crossed that everything will now be totally boring and straight forward PG.
And you are an end of October EDD like me!
(I'm due 28th ish)- halloween birthday parties for ever more!

MillyM · 08/03/2007 17:58

Hi honeyapple, I had thought of that! Apple bobbing and trick or treat for many years to come (this is the sound of Milly trying to be deserately positive whilst fighting a natural inbuilt pessimism!!)

ejt1764 · 08/03/2007 17:59

honeyapple - I'm an alto - so I don't do the high notes!

tbh I'd rather have my underarms waxed than have to shave them everyday - and I do have to - I'm a bit of a yeti!

Milly - welcome to knicker checkers anonymous - may your stay with us be long and boring!

MillyM · 08/03/2007 18:00

ejt- I soooooooooo know where you're coming from (sadly both for knicker checking and yeti comparisons!)

Kittiwake · 08/03/2007 20:07

Evening all

Having trouble keeping up with this thread as can't access mumsnet from work Grrrr

Hi Milly hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy

MrsMJ - will be thinking of you tomorrow and really hope that you get some good news agree that you have been so strong this week and can only echo the positive thought beam sending.

Ejt - I love to grow veggies too, had a big allotment in the past but now have moved so need to get going on the garden, I am planning on sowing my seeds at the weekend which is a job I love, have been given an old greenhouse too so need to put that up and can really get going. I see you are in lovely Wales too, I am in Brecon. Good luck for the singing!

A bit depressed about seeing the midwife now after all the talk yesterday in the news about overweight preganant mothers having terrible birth experiences. I am hoping she doesn't make me feel like I am an awful person as I am pretty big at the mo although I am not unfit and I am trying to eat as healthily as I can so as not to put too much extra on.

MillyM · 08/03/2007 20:12

Hi Kittiwake, I'm rather on the large side too (not as big as I used to be but bigger than with mylast pg - you're doing more than me by eating healthily. I just seem to grab junk ) I've been watching the news with a growing sense of shame. Midwife would be a complete cow if she made you feel rotten. Don't worry.

PolarMummy · 08/03/2007 20:55

Milly & Kitti, neither of you could be as large as me! I had meant to loose weight before getting pregnant but didn't quite manage it. Spoke to my doctor about it and she was so nice, she just said to remember I wasn't eating for two and to avoid the buns and chocolate so hopefully you will both experience the same attitudes.

beanie2bump · 08/03/2007 21:26

missnatalie · 08/03/2007 22:07

Hi girls,

I went for my 2nd scan today and beanie is measuring at 6w 4d (LMP says 6w 6d) and we saw a very strong heartbeat. I am so releived. DP and i both feel like a massive weight has been taken off us.

MrsMcJnr ~ good luck for tomorrow hun. Ive got everything crossed for you.

Natalie x

gemmamc · 09/03/2007 08:37

MIssNatalie....fantastic news! Congratulations! It must be such a relief..

honeyapple · 09/03/2007 09:54

Morning.
Great news Missnatalie!

I feel awful this morning.

Have booked a private scan for 10th April- I will be 12 weeks then.... seems eons away.
It costs £100. But I am not happy to wait until the NHS 20 wk scan. They give you a free DVD of the scan which is quite amusing. I can hear my MIL now- "Is that a foot? Is that an arm? Is that two babies??"

I feel so rotten I am starting to think maybe there is 2... also my tum is sticking out already.

MrsMcJnr · 09/03/2007 12:23

Ladies, I?m sorry to bring you bad news on a Friday but DH and I have lost our precious baby we were told this morning at the scan that I?d had a complete miscarriage and that my lining was back to normal and therefore there is no need for any surgery. We took comfort from that. We were also told that my ovaries are clear and there is nothing else in the womb and therefore we should be able to conceive again.

I want to thank you all for your incredible empathy and support over the last few weeks. It has been an emotional rollercoaster and I am convinced I am only able to take this all in because of your help. I wish you all very happy, healthy pregnancies and babies and it was great being part of the fun for a while. I?ll be going back to the conception threads when I can face it so won?t be on here again, please do pop by and say hello to me if you want to and I shall be eagerly awaiting announcements in October ? hopefully whilst sporting a smaller bump of my own .

ejt1764 · 09/03/2007 12:25
