Good luck plimsolls! And lainey could be possibly, but have you had it stay in that long before? Fx for you!

Laineypopps · 19/08/2016 18:45

Def not that I can remember! And it seems loads! Hoping it is the show and we are on the road to it all happening!!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 19/08/2016 21:24

Not been on here for ages! Huge congrats to all the new arrivals, Sloth, Christine, Cheese, stranded and anyone I've missed (sorry!)
Tabby welcome to the thread, glad you've found us and sorry you've had a hard time getting to this point. Totally understand that surreal feeling of "I can't be actually having a baby!" - tbh it lasted even after my first was born - kept expecting someone to knock on the door and say there'd been a mistake and it was time to give her back!
Cheese hope Freya is ok - not sure if I've said but I adore her name! I have everything crossed she's back with you and having lots of lovely cuddles with mummy.
Christine Alice was on our name shortlist too! Sounds like a fab birth - maybe your payoff for such a hard pregnancy?! Do you feel like it was all worth it??
Lainey, plimsolls, greys, mavis, good luck to you all - hope things are moving and you're on all the way to meeting your babies. So excited for some more announcements!

Congrats christine and sloth!!!! Hope things pick up for you plimsolls and lainey

I thought I'd be last last woman standing (waddling?) waiting for bubs to arrive, but yet again he's full of surprises. Went in this morning for a check and and he was back to transverse position :(

My OB thought they might be able to turn him, but because his lie has been so 'unstable' wanted to induce straight away after the EVC. Was sent off to another OB for an ultrasound and he then came in and said the EVC was a no-go. Apparently I have an anterior placenta, very low fluid and large baby....still with one loop of cord around his neck. So, c-section for me on Monday. They stuck me on a monitor for an hour before letting me go home, but told to keep an eye on movement over the weekend, drink as much fluid as I can and put feet up (seriously, I have two kids at home and tons to do before this baby arrives)!!!!
I was expecting to be at work for another 2 weeks, so only just logged off at 8pm after sending my final handover. Now I'm away to read up on c-sections!!! What do I need other than massive pants?

Slothlikesundays · 20/08/2016 04:37

Thanks for the congratulations. Shanster hopefully this weekend will fly by with no drama and you'll soon be having cuddles.
Good luck lainey

plimsolls · 20/08/2016 06:41

Well!

That was unexpected. Our daughter arrived just after midnight after an unexpectedly fast descent into established labour. Fully dilated at home about an hour after contractions got real. No time to get ourselves to hospital, and she was almost born in the back of the ambulance. As it was, we got to hospital about 20 minutes before she arrived. I'll post more details of the birth story on the postnatal thread at some point but aside from the fact that I was frightened (because it was so quick) and there was no pain relief available until she was crowning, it was alright!

Elizabeth, a teeny tiny 6lber, just over a week early, and totally perfect. Currently freaking me out by being fast asleep, as ever!

CheeseandGherkins · 20/08/2016 07:19

Plimsols congratulations, wow that was fast! How are you feeling now?

Shan I had my section Tuesday and was back on recovery by around 5.30pm, it has been easier this time around but still have to keep on top of the paracetamol and ibuprofen plus take things easy. Yes to big pants! Loose trousers and things easy to get in and out of. I had all the usual for hospital.

Didn't get to finish, back soon

Laineypopps · 20/08/2016 07:53

Congratulations on the arrival of Elizabeth, plimsolls! Delighted for you! What a quick labour! I love teeny tiny babies.

Still no news here. Maybe today!

AddictedtoGreys · 20/08/2016 08:45

Congratulations plimsolls!

Longtimelistener · 20/08/2016 09:07

Congratulations Christine, Plimsolls and Sloth and hope things start progressing for you soon Lainey.

Shan Good luck for Monday. I second what Cheese says about the Ibuprofen and Paracetamol. Taking them regularly (for at least the first 10 days) is more effective than waiting until you need them.
Also, possibly tmi, but if they offer you anything to help you "go" then take that too. Everyone's different but for me the pain was / is worse when I'm backed up. I completely forgot they'd given me lactulose and didn't take it for the first 10 days! 3.5 weeks later and I'm still getting pain every 2-3 days when I haven't pooped. That is the only time I get pain now though. I was comfortably able to drive after just less than 3 weeks.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 20/08/2016 09:30

plimsolls wow, congratulations!! What a drama! And there was you thinking you'd be the last to pop...Elizabeth clearly had other ideas Grin
Shan can't believe how cheeky that baby of yours is - he's got ants in his pants! Can't stay in one place can he, bless him. No advice on C-sec but sending you lots of good luck vibes for Monday! (Although knowing you you'll go in and he'll be back to head down and you'll end up being induced anyway!)

quitecrunchy · 20/08/2016 10:13

Wow congratulations plimsolls, that was fast! Hope you're recovering well.

Shanster · 20/08/2016 13:06

Aw, congrats plimsolls!!! That must have been a little traumatic! Glad you and baby are ok!

coco, I am thinking already today that he is in a different position than he was yesterday, I think I have a trampoline for a uterus. For weeks they've been saying he's too big to move again, and now there's not enough fluid and I just smile and nod....Now that I'm mentally geared up for a c-section I'll be a bit put out if I need inducing instead!! Cheese and long - thanks for the tips, I'm off to the shops to buy some stuff for the hospital this morning.
I need to get the guest room cleaned before in laws arrive tomorrow, and take each of the DCs to a different party today. The joys!!!

OohMavis · 20/08/2016 20:16

I can't stop thinking about teeny tiny baby feet that are always slightly cool to the touch, and patting a teeny nappied bum til they fall asleep

AddictedtoGreys · 20/08/2016 20:35

oohmavis I know how you feel. I can't wait to lift my freshly cleaned and dressed little baby up and cwtch him/her into my neck SmileI'm so impatient! Getting really fed up with each day that goes by and nothing happens.

OohMavis · 20/08/2016 20:39

I'm even looking forward to the little sweat patches they leave on your chest when they've fallen asleep there after a big feed. I'm a woman possessed! Never felt so broody in all my life.

Hope something happens for you (and me) soon.

quitecrunchy · 21/08/2016 11:21

Trying out my breast pump in the hope of helping bring on labour. Hope I've not just imagined this advice (pretty sure the midwife mentioned it in antenatal class). This IS a thing right? I certainly hope so otherwise I'm just a bored preggo lady getting a machine to suck her nipples Blush

Nothing expressed yet, and haven't had any leakage during the pregnancy, hoping that's not a sign of anything.

quitecrunchy · 21/08/2016 11:39

Spoke too soon - have got a teeny bit of colostrum coming. I'll stop with the running commentary now!

Shanster · 21/08/2016 12:31

Crunchy, nipple stimulation is supposed to help bring on labour. Never worked for me, but I think I tried everything with the last one.

mavis and greys, I know how you feel. Desperate to meet this little one, but I'm also feeling like I can't imagine not being pregnant anymore!!! Its all very surreal!

AddictedtoGreys · 21/08/2016 12:33

shanster I can definitely imagine not being pregnant! I haven't really enjoyed either of my pregnancies and prefer to have my body to myself. It's just the anxiety of waiting for it to happen, knowing how much it's going to hurt, that I can't stand! But so looking forward to afterwards when I have my little baby Smile

LotsOfDots · 21/08/2016 14:40

Sounds like you are all ready to go ladies, I'd recommend organising lots of things to do that'll be a pain to rearrange, sure fire way to bring on labour!

DS and I are sending you lots of labour vibes!

Shanster · 21/08/2016 14:59

Don't get my wrong greys, I have no emotional attachment to the waddling and I'll be glad to get this baby born....it just seems like a big leap from one to the other. I'm fretting today, this acrobat has turned head down again. They said they'd induce me if I go in for my c-section and find him head down, but what if its a really busy day and they send me home again? I've had my MIL drive all weekend from 800 miles away so she can look after the kids, and completed a very, very rushed handover to work on Friday. I'll feel like a fraud if I don't produce a baby tomorrow!!!

AddictedtoGreys · 21/08/2016 16:13

Don't worry shanster I'm sure you will be holding your baby very soon Smile I have been having lots of back pain and aches again today, getting so fed up of this constant pain not leading to anything Sad

Jayne266 · 21/08/2016 19:25

Hi everyone only just seen this thread my due date is today and I have a sweep booked for Wednesday. I am really nervous about going to far over. Hope everyone else is OK apologies I have not read everyone's posts but congratulations to those who have had there little ones.

quitecrunchy · 21/08/2016 20:58

Cheers shanster and lots - feeling like it's all worth a go! Not even overdue yet though so need to just chill out.

Good luck for tomorrow Shanster and fingers crossed that if you do get induced it all happens quickly! Your MIL sounds like a gem driving all that way though, what a trooper.

Hi Jayne, welcome. Good luck with the sweep if the baby doesn't come before then!
