X-post Christine, glad it all went well!

CheeseandGherkins · 15/08/2016 19:11

Christine glad you're feeling reassured, hope things get moving for you and that your little one will be born soon. Definitely trying to think of the end result, I can't believe it's real still.

Quite thank you, it's certainly nerve wracking. Hoping I don't have too much waiting around to do but it's the afternoon a lot so at least 1pm.

No idea how I'll sleep tonight. Have to be up before 6 to get the kids up and ready to take to my parents'. Bags are now packed at least and having loads of tightenings. No pain though so related to the worry I think. No food or water after 7am so I'll then be put on a drip. Good job I never feel like eating when I'm anxious!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 15/08/2016 19:37

cheese best of luck for tomorrow- little one will be in your arms before you know it. Maybe look up some relaxation tracks in YouTube to listen to before bed?

OwlinaTree · 15/08/2016 20:13

Good luck cheese. Sounds like you are being well monitored. Hope it all goes well tomorrow, I will be thinking of you.

Christine, great news about the scan. Sounds like a good size that, not too big especially for a few days over. Get bouncing, who knows what night happen?

Slothlikesundays · 15/08/2016 21:08

Cheese good luck!
Christine good news on the scan
Another scan here tomorrow. Feeling nervous. Really ready to meet this baby now but dp away again until Friday. It's like added stress. Will I go into labour? Will he make it on time?
Very emotional and irrationally angry as well. Finding it hard not to loose my temper with everyone and everything. I feel like the moodiest teenager you could imagine which is difficult as all I really want is a hug and I'm
Being horrible to everyone Confused. Sorry for the little rant!
On the plus side my house is clean, I have lots of food in the freezer and my pelvic pain is much more manageable than a few weeks ago!
Hope everyone else is holding up ok!

plimsolls · 15/08/2016 22:21

Loads to catch up on!

cheese I hope you are feeling OK. It must be very tense and anxious wait for you. You are so nearly there and this time tomorrow I am sure that all of this fear and stress will be rapidly receding as you stare at your brand new little baby. I'll be thinking of you.

Christine I'm glad you are feeling better and I hope you've been enjoying bouncing on your gym ball. I'm sure you can't have much longer to wait now!

MrsPMT Massive congratulations! If our baby is a girl, she'll be Elizabeth too! It's the perfect name (in my opinion, obv!). In fact, I love the name so much that I'm worried I'll be a teeny bit disappointed if this baby is a boy and I have to call him something else! Sounds like you had a real time of it giving birth; I hope all is well now, you're recovering, and you are enjoying lots of lovely cuddles. She looks lovely in the picture you posted!

bex and lou and stranded and lainey I hope that you're not suffering too much in this last stage. Not long now! I hope things get started for you soon.

addicted hows it going? I hope that if it was your hindwaters then things are moving along nicely for you now. If not, I hope you weren't too disappointed and are managing alright.

owl dilieas and ellie What lovely babies you all have. I think I might have commented on your FB posts after the babies arrived but just in case: congratulations!!! (and ellie I want your birth! Sounds ideal!)

shanster I really feel for you, your little one is certainly putting you through it and that's without even taking into account you having to manage work and a busy family life already. You always sound so capable and upbeat despite it all, I very much admire you.

oohmavis Sterling effort on the dtd! Sorry it didn't pay off with labour but still, impressive ;)

quitecrunchy Yes, I haven't quite fully understood there'll be a baby at the end of this pregnancy. Without wanting to sounds self-obsessed, in my mind, I am very much stuck on the "I am pregnant" rather than "we are having a baby" if that makes sense? I can't wait to meet him or her and I do occasionally get almost breathless rushes of excitement and longing for him or her, but I'm not fully prepared for the reality yet.

kstar lainey I find epsom salt baths great for reducing swelling.

sloth Sorry to hear you are feeling crap. I'm impressed with your cooking and nesting though! Good luck with the scan tomorrow. It must be horrible having your DP away, I hope someone is there to give you a hug.

Hope I haven't missed anyone.

I'm 38+1 today. A few lower down pains and cramps which I think are just stretching pains and possibly the baby experimenting with engaging. Still floating free at present though!

I've decided to alter my due date (in my head) and not expect this baby until September 5th, which will be 41+1. I don't know why that date in particular, I just don't think this baby is anywhere near ready to arrive and I think I'll cope better if I manage my expectations. I've got hospital bag pretty ready, car seat sorted, and we'll have the cot ready in the next few days too, so its OK if the baby comes earlier than I'm expecting!

Shanster · 15/08/2016 23:06

cheese - good luck tomorrow, it does sound a bit worrying but it'll be over soon and you'll have your wee one in your arms before you know it :)

christine - glad you're feeling better after the scan!!

sloth - I think its allowed to be a bit stroppy at this point in pregnancy!! It must be hard having your DP away. I'm envious of your stocked freezer tho!!!

plimsolls, the positive attitude is just a coping mechanism!! I have to work and we've no family around so I just get on with it and tell myself its no big deal. You are my due date buddy, I hope we're not still here waiting in September, but I suspect I might be!! I'm just mentally prepping to be pregnant for another 3 weeks at least, and hope to be pleasantly surprised. This baby has shifted again, I'm pretty certain he's breech again today. He's just not ready to settle down yet!

Suziesome1 · 16/08/2016 07:02

C section today! Got to go in for 9, 2nd on the am list so should be around 11ish :) excited/nervous/excited/nervous/thirsty. That's me since half 5! Haha :) good luck everyone, hope you all get your babies very soon! :)

AddictedtoGreys · 16/08/2016 07:30

Good luck today suzie and cheese!

plimsolls wasn't my hind waters unfortunately and absolutely nothing happening. No pains/cramps/nothing Sad I'm only 38+3 so still a way to go until due date but my DS was born at 38+2 so hoped this one would be the same Grin

bexh83 · 16/08/2016 07:54

ooooohhh good luck Suzie and Cheese!!

I keep doing what Christine says - this will be the last time I trail to Ikea/do a big shop/drive to my parents on my own....

so if he/she could come before I HAVE to clean the bathroom again id be quite gratefull Grin

OohMavis · 16/08/2016 08:46

I'm thinking of you Cheese Flowers hope everything's going well.

Good luck Suzie!

Christinedonna · 16/08/2016 10:16

Thinking of you cheese looking forward to hearing you've got your little one!
bex I'm going to change my bedding today for the 'last' time. Then dust bust the Moses basket for the 'last' time! (I'm sure it'll get 5 more goings over!) the ball seems to have brought on a lot of back pain so I suppose that's good? (Still finding it weird to think of pain as a good thing) I think if anything it'll help and make a sweep possible but still can't see anything happening on its own. Been really tired the past two nights so benefiting from the extra sleep. That and the scan just make it clear that I need to chill and wait, nothing I can do about it. Hope everyone else that's gone over is doing okay. 40+5

CheeseandGherkins · 16/08/2016 18:57

One baby girl born safe and sound. So relieved! Pushed back for emergencies so she was born at 4.49pm weighing 6lb 15 and a half ozs. Placenta was calcified and gritty so I'm so thankful they got her out today. I think we've settled on Freya. She's currently latched on feeding :)

Christinedonna · 16/08/2016 19:20

Yaaaaay! Congratulations cheese! Sounds like they done the right thing, bet you're over the moon and head over heels! So jealous!! Enjoy every second

strandedabroad · 16/08/2016 19:55

Meet baby Matthew, born today at 2pm, weighing 8 pounds 1. It was a scaringly quick labour - woke up with back ache, called the hospital at 9.30, went in at 11, baby born at 2pm. Ridiculously fast for a first born.

Bit of a scary one as we went from a lovely birthing pool and one midwife to a team of 12, ventouse and forceps. They literally pulled me out of the pool and wheeled me to Labour Ward (was previously in the midwife-led unit), as his heartbeat dropped too quickly. Anyway we're both well, I can't believe we finally have our baby.

For anyone interested, I had both a sweep and acupuncture yesterday. One of them must have worked - we'll never know which one!

plimsolls · 16/08/2016 20:03

Oh cheese I'm delighted for you. Congratulations. It's a horrible thought about the placenta, I'm really pleased for you everything happened today. Freya is a fantastic name. Well done!

plimsolls · 16/08/2016 20:04

stranded Congratulations! I replied on FB too but just wanted to say it again! It's lovely news x

Christinedonna · 16/08/2016 20:07

Congratulations stranded! I'm sorry to hear it wasn't as relaxed as you'd hoped but glad it was over quickly and he's here safe and well

quitecrunchy · 16/08/2016 20:07

Congratulations on the new arrivals cheese and stranded, fantastic news all round!

AddictedtoGreys · 16/08/2016 20:47

Congratulations cheese and stranded! Gorgeous little ones Smile

OwlinaTree · 16/08/2016 21:25

Congratulations cheese and stranded. Lovely names for both.

Laineypopps · 16/08/2016 21:26

Congratulations cheese and stranded!! Delighted for you both! Love the names Freya and Matthew!

I was up at 3.30am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, been feeling twinges all day today and thing baby is not far away. My DS is starting P2 tomorrow (Yr1) and it is my MILs birthday. Pretty sure this wee munchkin is going to upstage them both!!!

LotsOfDots · 16/08/2016 22:56

Huge congratulations Cheese and stranded!

Cheese so glad you had your c-section today, and all is well, given the placental findings you must be so relieved with your decision.

Stranded, sounds like a stressful experience so glad all is well, so quick too!

Shanster · 16/08/2016 23:02

Congrats cheese and stranded, glad to hear your babies are here safe and sound even if you both had a bit of a scary time!!

lainey - hope your intuition is right! At least it's P2 for your DS tomorrow and not P1 if the wee one does arrive then!!

I think I have a while to go yet, but people in work keep saying things like 'why are you still here' and 'any day now'.....wonder if they'll run out of things to say when I'm still waddling around in 3 weeks time!

Brittanyspears · 17/08/2016 03:59

Just caught up on tons of posts while in labour ward- wow its been a busy exciting time for all. Been off grid (name spelt differently) as all sorts of issues in personal life took over and didnt want to post.
But none of that matters now. Daughter arrived tuesday by c section 8.9lbs!!!! So happy. Huge as a week early too.
Wishing everyone good labours. See u on the other group!
