New thread - the one where we stop being pregnant and become new mamas! So close to the end. Exciting!

Any movement dileas?

OohMavis · 11/08/2016 07:58

Congratulations Zumba! Flowers I've always wanted to try hypnobirthing. As it goes I'm being given a CD + book tomorrow but it's probably too late to start at 38+5 right?

OohMavis · 11/08/2016 08:00

Also I've decided that I'm now celibate until further notice. DTD last night and had a nice full night of horrible contractions that obviously aren't going anywhere. I'm knackered.

"Prostaglandin" they say. "It's a natural way to induce labour" they say.

No. No. It's a method of torture. It stays in his pants.

MrsPMT23 · 11/08/2016 08:01

Congratulations Zumba and great to hear about the hypnobirthing!

Hope things have progressed this morning Dileas.

41 weeks today and no signs, very fed up! Going to accept a sweep today from my MW who is very anti-sweeps. Any tips? Heard deep breathing is worth a try.

LotsOfDots · 11/08/2016 08:55

Congratulations zumba!

Sounds like we are due another little glut of babies, good luck everyone.

CheeseandGherkins · 11/08/2016 09:28

Congratulations Zumba

Hope things are happening for you dileas

Owl good luck and hope you're holding your baby now

Nothing much to report here. Scan and consultant tomorrow at 37+1 and I'm going to request another section, I don't think I can manage an induced vbac. I expect to be booked in for next week so I shouldn't have long left to go. Terrified but I think it's the best option for me and the baby.

AddictedtoGreys · 11/08/2016 09:28

Congratulations zumba!

I'm getting so fed up of these "signs" that labour is coming Angry lower back pain, crampy pains, loose stools for about a week, feeling nauseous, and yet no baby!! Hmmgrrr just want to get on with it now. Hate all this waiting around. My DS was born at 38+2 and I am now 37+5, what's the likelihood I will have this one earlier that DS? Grin

rumisyum · 11/08/2016 10:01

Congratulations, Zumba! Enjoy getting to know your little girl!

Good luck today, Owl!

Sending quick & smooth labour vibes in everyone else's direction. Smile

OwlinaTree · 11/08/2016 10:10

Thanks guys, we are still waiting for things to happen here, there's been an emergency section so we've been pushed back a bit. Hopefully not long now though.

Glad you've made a decision cheese, hope the scan etc goes well tomorrow and then at least you know what's happening.

Greys I've been so fed up the last few days, You just get to the point where you want it to happen don't you? Fx it won't be long now.

AddictedtoGreys · 11/08/2016 10:16

owlina yes my first labour did not go to plan, a few problems ending up in emergency forceps and spinal block. So I am quite anxious about this labour having problems too. Just makes me want to hurry up and get it over with, the longer I am waiting the worse I am feeling.

Christinedonna · 11/08/2016 10:45

Congratulation zumba! & goodluck owlina so exciting!! Hopefully they don't leave you waiting too much longer.
ITS MY DUE DATE- and addicted I feel your pain, only magnified by 2 weeks! The midwife in my area doesn't offer a sweep until you're 12 DAYS over due! I'm literally going to be pregnant forever. I suddenly feel very lost. This countdown of days until the due date is over and we have no idea when she'll be here. No sleep for the past two nights due to period pains, back ache, general discomfort and still nothing! Constant "is she here yet??" "Hurry up!" Messages and phone calls, how does that not feel insensitive coming from people's mouths? I have a midwife appointment today at 12 and I plan on making my discomfort and foul mood very very clear. 12 days! There's just no need for that.

Dileas29 · 11/08/2016 10:45

Been having mild Contractions since about 3am -Went for a walk to the village bank with DD and my waters went with a big gush (and haven't stopped since), back home I went to avoid anymore embarrassment and off to the hospital I go....surprisingly contractions have eased since then? Weird

Christinedonna · 11/08/2016 10:50

Good luck delias!

AddictedtoGreys · 11/08/2016 10:57

Good luck dileas!

christine 12 days seems way too long! I hate the not knowing. It's like watching a phone waiting for it to ring! Wish there was some way to just take my mind off it.

Christinedonna · 11/08/2016 11:07

I had a stand in midwife at my last appointment. I know it makes no difference as she's still a midwife and knows what she's talking about but I'm just hoping that somehow she got it wrong and that isn't the case! It's obviously the first thing I'll ask today. It's silly, babies are born at 37 weeks (even earlier!) and are perfectly fine. I completely understand not wanting to rock the boat earlier than 40 weeks but here we are, I signed up for 40 weeks and they're over. I don't need to suffer unnecessarily any longer!

Kstar8 · 11/08/2016 12:12

Christine think it's hospital policy, not the midwife making up her own rules Grin
My hospital is the same, 12 days. Full term being 37-42, I am not putting any stock on my due date next week.
Wishing you an imminent labour! (Clintons should make cards like that)

Christinedonna · 11/08/2016 12:51

Just got back from the midwife. They induce you at +12 but will offer you a sweep at 41weeks so that's not too bad. Bit annoyed though as she measured me and said I'm measuring small. I said that at the hospital (when I went over reduced movement a week or so ago) the midwife said that and the doctor brushed it off. Today's midwife said "they should have sent you for a growth scan!..actually looking at your chart we could have sent you for a growth scan a few weeks ago! We'll book you in for one" so on my due date I've been told of a problem that has been evident for weeks! Getting the scan could take up to 5 days. I just feel so set aside and like we're not important!

Christinedonna · 11/08/2016 13:02

Also been told I'm 3/5 engaged. Was definitely told completely engaged before

Sophia1984 · 11/08/2016 15:18

Zumba- I had exactly the same with hypnobirthing. I was 3cm at 3.30am, they didn't think I was in established labour and wouldn't check me again till 7.30 (possibly as waters had gone so infection risk?) When they did check I was 10cm but had got there with paracetamol, codeine, sterile water injections and a bath as they wouldn't let me in pool!

OwlinaTree · 11/08/2016 16:36

Hi guys, I've had a little girl this morning by c section. She is 6lb13oz and gorgeous with loads of dark hair! I'm pretty shattered now tbh. Wish I could go home but that won't happen till tomorrow.

OohMavis · 11/08/2016 16:40

Congratulations Owlina! Fantastic news Flowers

CheeseandGherkins · 11/08/2016 16:58

Lovely news owl, so pleased all went well. Grin

peardrop2 · 11/08/2016 17:00

Interesting stories Sophia and Zumba! I was 2cm at 5pm and then pushing baby girl out with 2 pushes at 5.02pm. Hypnobirthing seems to be very spontaneous! I'm still puzzled to how my ending could have happened!

Fizzyboo · 11/08/2016 17:17

Congratulations owlina!!!!! StarStarStar

Slothlikesundays · 11/08/2016 17:23
