Sweep this morning at 11.40, regular contractions this evening. Keeping everything crossed! Hopefully this is it!

OwlinaTree · 11/08/2016 19:59

Hope so mrs!

bexh83 · 11/08/2016 20:09

Congratulations Owl and MrsZumba! lots of girls on the thread, its really motivating through these last few days to hear positive stories!

Ellie2008 · 11/08/2016 21:37

Congratulations owl

Good luck mrs

Had my sweep yesterday, went for a walk at lunch and contractions started around 2pm, got closer and more painful to about 5/6 minutes, was gunna give it half hour then head in and out of nowhere started to slow down. More painful ones coming now but only about 4 an hour so off to bed to get some rest and hope that it gets going again over night!! I was getting so excited I have no idea why they just stopped!

MrsZumbaDancer · 11/08/2016 23:47

Congratulations owlina

mavis I wouldn't say it's too late to start hypnobirthing.. With ds I started at 36 weeks and listened to cd religiously-never made it to the end, always fell asleep!

With dd (so weird to see that!) I listened to it once! But I'm quite good at closing my eyes and zoning out so that helped.

peardrop2 · 12/08/2016 00:37

Congrats Owl and Zumba SmileCake

I only started listening to my Hypnobirthing cd 2 weeks before I gave birth and I had a really lovely experience using only gas and air at the end (I was also induced but monitored on a wireless monitor).

FourForYouGlenCoco · 12/08/2016 10:53

Massive congrats Zumba and Owl!! Owl that girly instinct was right Grin
Got Ellie, Mrs and Dileas on baby watch now, think you guys will be next!

Flora Johanna surname born at 7:15pm last night 10th August weighing 8lb 9oz. Birthed between two hospitals, gas and air and paracetamol no stitches required last stage of labour one hour so really pleased with myself. Because of GroupB strep I've been told 24 hour obs so away tomorrow...I've told midwife that would take us till 8pm tonight? (Slept really badly last night with two snoring women and babies crying all night) She was taken aback and said she would speak to ped.all I said was that I have sore nipples from bad latch (very aware I've not had her with very open mouth) and that's why she said tomorrow...! I think I'll be discharging myself, hospital is so busy with 3 people waiting for beds for induction so why won't they let me away?

ANYWAY I'm so in love and DD has just been to visit and wants to keep her new "stister" 😻

Huge congratulations Dileas, Owlina and Zumba, glad to hear of more safe arrivals!

quitecrunchy · 12/08/2016 14:03

Congratulations Owl and Dileas, hope you're both home and settled soon!

OwlinaTree · 12/08/2016 15:07

Congratulations dileas!

CheeseandGherkins · 12/08/2016 15:32

Congratulations dileas!

My scan went well, baby gone down a little on growth and fluid is still a bit high. They want baby to be born now due to the GD, before 38 weeks which is next Thursday. Weighing about 6lb 15 apparently.

So I've requested a repeat section, going in for steroids and pre op on Monday. I should get a call today to tell me the date of the section as there was no space on lists so they have to open another one. So now just have to pack my bags and get the last bits sorted!

I'm a bit nervous but also relieved that it's been done and we know what's happening. Now to stay focused on this baby girl and not the fear of the op!

MrsPMT23 · 12/08/2016 21:13

Congrats Owl and Dileas!

So contractions have been regular since 2.30pm yesterday but only 2cm dilated so sent home. Had contractions all day and night.

Came back this afternoon as concerned about baby's movements. During monitoring my contractions intensified resulting in me ripping it off and jumping off the bed. MW came to do examination and waters went all over the floor and DHs feet. Quite a lot of meconium in waters so carried on being monitored and being kept in.

Still have regular contractions and using tens. Thinking baby will be here tomorrow! Grin

Ellie2008 · 12/08/2016 21:14

dileas congratulations!!

My little man was born this afternoon at 5.35 weighing a lovely 7lbs 2 with a small amount of gas and air and in the pool until the pushing! On my own on the ward so far so hoping I might get a little sleep! Can't stop staring at him he's absolutely perfect :D

Good luck to anyone else who's close, it's been the most surreal day of my life!!

Congrats Dileas and Ellie! Two beautiful babies 😍
Good luck Mrs, sounds like you've had a right slog, fingers crossed your little one doesn't keep you waiting much longer - let us know how it goes!
Cheese glad your scan was ok and you have a plan of action - do you feel better now you have a definite plan?? All v exciting times, and really don't worry about the op - an ELCS is a very different beast to an EMCS. Everyone I've known/come across that's had an elective section has had a great experience of the birth. Can imagine that your general anxiety levels are high right now anyway given your history though. Flowers Nearly there now - keep us posted on your op date!

Congrats owl, dileas and ellie !!! Lovely babies!!! I'm a bit jealous of your scheduled section cheese...mine was cancelled today. My breech and wrapped in cord baby has unravelled down to one loop and is head down. I'm 37&5 and my OB said the head through down is not at all engaged and I'm completely closed. So I'm resigned to another 3 weeks at least until they start talking induction. Loads of BH, I know they won't lead to anything.....will I be pregnant forever????

Shanster · 13/08/2016 02:43

Good luck mrs PMT

CheeseandGherkins · 13/08/2016 04:04

Congratulations Ellie, he's lovely :)

Mrspmt good luck! Sounds like it won't be long and maybe even born by now!

Coco I did feel immediately relieved. Baby has to come out and I don't think induction is the route for me. Diabetic consultant said 38 weeks max or it was going to be booked in for 38+4 as that's the next book able slot. As my insulin needs have dropped to zero and baby has gone from 75th centile to about 57 in 2 weeks they're starting to worry. I am nervous but she has to come out one way or another. I'm on the emergency list for Thursday but if anyone goes into labour before then they will do it Wednesday apparently. Hoping it'll happen then.

Shanster sorry your section was cancelled but glad baby is in a better position.

I'm wide awake again. Such trouble staying asleep lately. Really want to get the next few days over with so I can concentrate on baby and recovering.

Laineypopps · 13/08/2016 08:52

Congratulations dileas and Ellie!! How scrummy are your little ones?!?! 😘😘😘
Hopefully you have a bundle in your arms now mrsPMT!!

So day two of overdue! Had a really unsettled night last night, woke up this morning and have had a bit of a show this morning and a very upset tummy again. Hoping this is the beginning! Have text hubby to be on call. Still getting regularish tightenings but no pain and no increase in frequency or intesity so just playing the waiting game to see if anything comes of it.

Happy Saturday everyone!

LotsOfDots · 13/08/2016 10:28

Sounds promising lainey. Hope things progress today.

cheese glad you have a plan in place that you are happy with. Nearly there.

shanster your baby is determined to keep you on your toes with the constant change of position and plan!

DS is a week and a day old now. His big sisters are infatuated, as are we! More sleep would be appreciated though. DD1 (8) made DH and I a completely unprompted breakfast in bed this morning, toast and fruit on trays, delivered it to the room silently - I woke up at 8 and nearly stepped on it! What a girl!

Shanster · 13/08/2016 15:35

lotsofdots, what a lovely wee girl you have! My DD is 7, and is so excited to meet her 2nd little brother, I'm hoping she is as helpful and thoughtful as yours is!! I think you're right about my baby just keeping me on my toes, I've been calling him my rascal for a couple of weeks now.

Cheese - I was just being impatient, I'm fine waiting a couple more weeks. Hope everything goes well for you this week!!

dileas, I really love the name you chose by the way!!

LotsOfDots · 13/08/2016 16:07

She is lovely, today, Shanster. She thumped her 5 year old sister on Thursday so is feeling contrite following sanctions!

Shanster · 13/08/2016 19:42

Ah, lotsofdots I am very familiar with this cycle! I also have a 5 year old (boy) and he has lost electronics for a month after whacking his sister with a (thankfully hollow, plastic) bat. I can't seem to get it through to them that knocking lumps out of one another is not acceptable!!!

bexh83 · 13/08/2016 22:13

Congratulations Dilaes lovely name!
and ellie, sounds like a good labour story to have, he looks really cute!

Hit 40 weeks today.... so many, many texts and calls wondering about the baby, who seems fairly content to be where she/he is....if OH wasnt working a night tonight I would turn my phone off, its un-nerving!
