New thread - the one where we stop being pregnant and become new mamas! So close to the end. Exciting!

I am 36+4 and I have seriously had enough. So much pressure on my cervix, baby was 3/5 engaged Monday, my hips and lower back are really a gig and painful especially at night. So ready to have this baby!!

AddictedtoGreys · 03/08/2016 08:11

*aching not a gig

Slothlikesundays · 03/08/2016 08:27

Addicted I feel the same. Have a scan today and really hoping they'll say lets induce you. Which is crazy as 1. I don't want to be induced really and 2. My partner is away and my back up birth partners are ill/abroad. Yet here I am, day dreaming about it being eviction day. (Might have something to do with the terrible spd, night vomitting and stupid hormones that is making me feel constantly on the edge of tears)

AddictedtoGreys · 03/08/2016 08:51

sloth I feel your pain. It's crazy that we want to experience probably the most intense pain we will ever feel in our lives just to get pregnancy over! Confused

Daytona79 · 03/08/2016 09:00

Lot of dots

My DD was 6th August

Started getting cramps like period pains at 8pm thought it was because I had upset tummy

At 11pm I thought I'd check with labour ward for advice as live 1 hour from hospital

I'd been timing them times were like 13 minute , 15 , 27 , 35, 18

So well far apart and not regular and not that painful

She said it might be early labour or it might just been because I was having the runs.

She said if your waters go then come in or if they get to 5 minutes apart think about driving in

But for now go take paracetamol and go to bed.

So I did that last time I times one was 3am then I feel asleep and woke sharply at 3.56 ran to bathroom and it wasn't period cramp this time but a sudden sharp stabbing in bum and I know from 1st baby that's baby coming

Screamed at husband to get up and call ambulance he was running about room going what's the number 😂🙈. Ahh I can't find how to use your phone, it's a iPhone and he has one , he was just in a blind panic

I'm screaming the baby's coming now do something , we thought neighbour was a MW so I shouted at him to run and get her and I rang 999

Ran to a bigger bathroom in our house and collapsed on floor from pain and two pushes and baby was out

Ambulance arrived 6 minutes from when my call came in but baby was already out by about 2/3 minutes

So from me waking suddenly to holding baby about 8 minutes

No warning or normal proper contractions at all , no show, no waters breaking etc

Just some mild cramps then suddenly woke up And he was on his way.

Ambulance took us to hospital at 5am as had to delivery placenta in bathroom and God that was agony.

Got released at 10am same day

Woohoooo! Congrats beryl and hello Connie!

MrsZumbaDancer · 03/08/2016 09:58

Congratulations beryl!

AsthmaAndAutism · 03/08/2016 10:03

I've had a name change, but OH MY GOD! I'm getting induced in 23 hours! ShockShockShock
I'll be 37+4, and it'll be so magical to not be in so much pain with PGP (oh, and the newborn baby will be a huge bonus! Grin)
Anyone ever been induced before? Although I got oxytocin in the end stages with DS1, I know induction is completely different? Definitely feeling a bit nervous now!

Hope all you ladies (and beautiful babies!) are having a relaxing (as possible) time in the last few weeks! Flowers

Ellie2008 · 03/08/2016 10:27

Congratulations on the new babies arriving!! I'm not jealous at all..... Ok I am a little,

Was just wondering if anyone else has suffered with an itchy bump at all? It's been fairly itchy the last week where my stretch marks have suddenly appeared, but last night I was up between 1am and 5am with what I assume is acid reflux and severe itching. This morning it's very red and there's a rash over the bottom half. Having a Google seems to say it's PUPPP, Iv tried moisturiser and bio oil and a cold flannel but nothing's helping, my clothes make it sting and I feel like I'm going mad! Is there anything the midwives can do if I ring them or is it a case of grin and bear it till the little one arrives?? Am currently sat in a grump on my sofa, have turned work emails off and refusing to adult!

I'm 39 weeks today if that makes any difference!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 03/08/2016 10:36

Congrats Alfie, Daytona and Beryl!!! You all did so so well, what's with all these babies shooting out in no time?! Making it look easy (HA!) 😎

Asthma what was your old name?! Eek/whoop to induction! Nearly time to meet bubs!

Big squashy hugs & commiserations to everyone still pregnant & plodding along. I'm convinced that pregnancy is so uncomfortable so that we're all willing to take the pain of labour just to get it over with!

Christine and Sophia good luck - hope those babies don't keep you waiting too much longer! Sounds like things are happening. I had painful Braxton hicks every night for weeks, knew it wasn't the real thing but trusted it was all doing something useful. Labour was v quick and easy in the end and I'm sure the BH helped!
Basket you poor thing, you must be so fed up! Have you been offered a sweep or anything or are you just leaving it up to nature?

Congratulations beryl Grin

OwlinaTree · 03/08/2016 11:37

Congratulations beryl! What a cutie.

Had yet another growth scan this am, and the baby has shot up to around the 40th centile! So good news. No idea why, main difference is that I've finished work I suppose. They were considering doing the gdd test but as I pointed out, I'll have had the baby by the time the results come out. So no test.

Basketofwool · 03/08/2016 12:14

Hi four I did have a sweep last Thursday, and I'll have another one tomorrow.

I'm not sure whether to have another sweep though. If I still haven't made any progress since last week I think that would be just too demoralising.

I don't understand why some bodies know what to do to get a baby out and some just don't! Why is my body being useless!!

Christinedonna · 03/08/2016 18:56

Thank you for your thoughts everyone. Unfortunately still nothing yet, was going to have a hot curry for dinner tonight but a subway with jalapeños for lunch blew my head off and I can't put myself through anything else. Our room is now officially finished! Curtains up, Moses basket washed and ready, hospital bags and car seat in the car and I'm sooooo ready for this to be over BUT dealing with the worst, angriest pile of in the world and aswell as it causing me a lot of pain, it's really putting me off the thought of labour. Is there anything I have here that will help? (Bepanthen or sudocrem..Vaseline maybe??) just need it to go down a bit and not be so sore and angry

Longtimelistener · 03/08/2016 19:05

Congratulations Beryl. Connie is gorgeous!

Basket I know exactly what you mean. I seem to sail through pregnancy with relatively few symptoms, but I genuinely don't believe my body knows how to labour naturally! We'd probably think about having more kids if my body wasn't so rubbish at getting them out..!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 03/08/2016 20:24

elle I would ring your midwife just to check because it could also be OC which is a liver issue - this was another one of the reasons they wanted to induce me.

christine I got some cream from the doctor for my piles - it didn't make them go down at all but it had a mild anaesthetic in it which meant it didn't bother me all the time. I also assure you that it will not bother you during labour - I forgot all about them. Midwife says they will go down quickly as long as I do my pelvic floor exercises.

congratulations beryl - does seem to be the thread for speedy babies!

quitecrunchy · 03/08/2016 20:48

Congratulations Beryl, wee Connie's adorable!
Basket hope you're not kept waiting much longer!
Owl great news from your growth scan.
Ellie as Alfie said it might be worth mentioning the bump itching to your midwife just in case.

Ellie2008 · 03/08/2016 22:16

Thanks all, I will ring tomorrow. Being a first timer you just never know if it's something silly or whether it's something worth mentioning, I don't like making a fuss so try to deal with stuff! Hopefully they can give me some tips as its driving me insane alongside this acid reflux which has come out of nowhere! Having not suffered at all the rest of my pregnancy! Thankgod Iv got 2 weeks at the most to go!!
And hopefully mine will go like the rest of yours and nice a quick! There seems to be an August theme so far!

OwlinaTree · 03/08/2016 22:17

Thanks quite.

Longtime think I'm in that club too, 2nd planned section in a week and a day!

Basketofwool · 03/08/2016 22:25

I think I might be having contractions...
They were about every 10 minutes, now about every 7. Not sure whether to go to bed or stay up and keep timing them.
The pain feels quite low down, does that sound about right? Like it's not the whole bump, just the bottom.
Eek!

Christinedonna · 03/08/2016 23:43

Anything changed basket?

MrsZumbaDancer · 04/08/2016 06:04

basket with my first pain was just under my bump, not my back or anywhere else. And wasn't regular!

Any updates? Hope you got some sleep Smile

It's my birthday today, wouldn't mind if baby made an appearance.. Just not on my mils bday next Tuesday!

OwlinaTree · 04/08/2016 07:29

Happy birthday zumba!
