Well I was up most of the night with contractions around every 7 minutes. I had a long bath which didn't stop them at the time, but they seem to have tapered off now. I think I'll head out for a walk to try and get things going again.

Happy birthday Zumba! Lol I had the same issue with MIL birthday, thankfully we avoided it.

I'm going to bookmark that daytona!

Just had my 36 week midwife appointment. I feel so far behind! Baby is not engaged or anything. I don't really mind the idea of still having 4-6 weeks to go although when I see all these newborn pictures I do feel quite envious.

My bump measurements have stayed the same for the last 3 weeks or so (34cm) so I'm being referred for another growth scan. Midwife isn't worried and I don't think I am either- I think the baby has just dropped a bit. Im really happy to be having another scan though, I just feel that if there are any probs, a scan will pick them up so its like a pre-birth check. I'm going to be braver with this growth scan and ask them to show me baby's face etc. Last time I didn't see anything.

Anyway, hope everyone is well and those of you who are on the brink of labour are feeling happy and rested and raring to go.

Quick update to say little boy arrived yesterday. We're both well but staying in again tonight as he hasn't established feeding. Waters went on Tuesday afternoon and up here they give you 18 hours before they'll induce you. After being checked and going home in afternoon, I went in with short but frequent contractions and was found to be 3cm at 3.30am. They then didn't want to check progress until 7.30 so I had no pain relief except TENS, bath, water papule injection and OH massaging. Was all set to ask for epidural with induction as having really painful back pain and exhausted, got examined at 7.30am and was fully dilated! All plans for induction off, into birthing pool, gas and air, pushing for 2.5 hours until baby appeared. Spent first half of night cursing hypnobirthing and second half thanking it! Have slept about 3 hours in last 50-something so bit overwhelmed and tired but generally ok and baby is perfect.

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 04/08/2016 16:48

Congratulations Sophia! All those tightenings before must have been doing something! Good luck establishing feeding - we had a mammoth night last night where the only thing she did was feed but it is getting easier.

OwlinaTree · 04/08/2016 17:39

Congratulations Sophia.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 04/08/2016 21:10

Congratulations Sophia!! All those Braxton hicks obviously did their job. Good luck with feeding - pop over to the grads thread if you're in need of moral support in the middle of the night.

Zumba happy (slightly late) birthday! Hope you've had an awesome day Smile

plimsolls glad you're not worried about growth scan - think your attitude is very sensible. Will be lovely to have an extra peek at baby! You're not that far behind - you'll be holding a babe before you know it!

Can't believe DS is 2 weeks old tomorrow. It's going so scarily fast, I'm still wishing I could slow time down! This time 2 weeks ago I was still pregnant with no idea I'd be having a baby a few hours later. Pregnancy feels so long ago already! And it just goes to show what a number the hormones do on you - I'm sort of, almost, slightly missing it Confused wondering how small is too small an age gap...somebody slap me, please!

Lovely news sophia! Well done! Hope you get some good sleep soon and in the meantime are getting lots of lovely newborn cuddles.

quitecrunchy · 04/08/2016 22:22

Congratulations Sophia! Good luck with the feeding and with settling back in at home when you get there.

Happy birthday Zumba!

Basket any update? Hope the contractions got going again.

Daytona79 · 04/08/2016 22:47

Congratulations Sophia , does baby have a name yet.??

Dileas29 · 04/08/2016 22:57

Congratulations sophie & beryl lovely news!!

Sorry for lack of contact lately, I've been lingering.

I don't know if it's because it's late at night or because I'm due tomorrow...but I'm suddenly really scared about having another baby. It's not the labour which is daunting at all but the actual idea of having two children and will I cope thoughts I'm having, is this normal? My DD is very on board (3 next month) and I don't think I'll have an issue that way but I suddenly feel very emotional that she's not going to be my only baby anymore and worried about sharing time equally etc or not being able to with utter exhaustion from graveyard night feeds! Please tell me I'm not the only one who doesn't feel ready yet?! I feel like everyone on the board is so giddy and wanting imminent labour and I'd like as much time as poss with DD...maybe that's not normal! to those who have had a baby with another or have any advice or feelings about how it is in reality? Feeling emotional/hormonal

LotsOfDots · 05/08/2016 00:35

Quick check in to let you all know that baby boy Dots arrived at 9pm on 04/08/16. Have written a bit more on the post natal thread, but all good here. Need some sleep now please!

peardrop2 · 05/08/2016 02:33

Baby girl arrived on Tuesday afternoon. Sadly I wasn't one of the lucky ones to have a speedy 2nd time round induction. It was just as long and tedious as my first one so that story that it will be quicker 2nd time wasn't true for me! I did however achieve my Hypnobirthing no drugs birth but it did result in a messy ending which I'm now starting to recover from as I ended up in theatre for repair again Sad It was a beautiful experience though and I highly recommend hypnobirthing. Would do it all again if I didn't tear so easily! No3 will be an elective c section for sure! My baby girl weighs 5lb and she is just the most perfect dolly. Totally in love Smile

rumisyum · 05/08/2016 04:03

Wowza! So many babies since my last check in!

Congratulations beryl! Connie is beautiful!

Congratulations & well done, Sophia! And same to you Pear! Loving the hypnobirthing stories!

And congrats again, lots!

Hope you're all settling in well with your little ones & enjoying getting to know one another. So much new baby loveliness!

Dileas, I was feeling very much like you - not ready & not really keen for my 2nd to appear. I was hoping for a few weeks of mat leave to get my head round the idea of two & to prepare a bit. I just wasn't given the chance as DD turned up at 37+ a few! I think how you're feeling is normal & I hope you do enjoy your remaining time with just your first LO.

Basket hope all is well & your little one is here already!

Biscuitswithtea · 05/08/2016 04:57

Goodness, babies everywhere! Congratulations to all the new arrivals Flowers

Sorry to hear induction wasn't straightforward Pear Hope things heal quickly for you.

Dileas I think what you're describing sounds totally normal. Going from 1 to 2 children means that your relationship with your elder child changes significantly. Before DD was born I was acutely aware of how many days we had left before the due date when it would just be him & me. And since DD came early, that last day of just the two of us was in early July. We'll still get short bursts of time just the two of us, but entire days are a while off for now.

fruityb · 05/08/2016 06:27

I'm 37 + 5 and fecking miserable!! I'm waking up in pain with my hips in the night and in a lot of pain in the mornings. Measuring 40cm but growth scan showed baby wasn't too big or anything and no induction.

I'm in for a sweep in two and a half weeks if all else fails. I'm just fed up of being in pain now and want baby here - I want my body back.

I'm exhausted and fed up. I normally like to get up and about and go shopping in the summer holidays - fat chance as I just can't walk far enough! Physio said all was still in line and fine and gave me support bandage, Yey! I just want baby out so I can at least feel a bit more mobile without this weight on my front.

Lovely to read about the new babies here so thank you for cheering me up. Hope to be posting about mine soon Smile

AsthmaAndAutism · 05/08/2016 07:05

Well Baby Casper arrived this morning! 7lb 9oz of yumminess! Induction went perfectly!
Although, did go from 5cm dilated at 3:30am, to him arriving at 3:56am! BlushGrin

Hope all goes well with the rest of everyone's pregnancies!FlowersFlowers

AddictedtoGreys · 05/08/2016 07:29

Congratulations everyone on your new little babies! Can't wait for mine to arrive. 37w tomorrow!!

OwlinaTree · 05/08/2016 07:41

Wow, 3 new babies! Congratulations dots, pear and asthma, Casper is a cutie!

Dileas, if it makes you feel any better, I have been having similar thoughts. I cried on Monday as my ds (2y5m) was tantrumming in the cafe and we had to leave in the end. I was crying thinking 'how will I cope with 2, what have I done?' He's been fine ever since, but I do look at him and think 'poor thing, you have no idea what's coming!'

New bed arriving today, this is the last phase of home improvements now. Finally!

OwlinaTree · 05/08/2016 07:47

Congratulations lots, pear and asthma. Casper is a cutie!

I've been having similar feelings dileas. My ds (2y5m) had a massive tantrum in a cafe on Monday, we had to leave without eating in the end. I was crying, thinking 'how am I going to cope with 2 of them?'. He's been really good ever since, he's reacting to all the changes I think.

New bed arriving today, and that is the end of all the home improvements then. We will finally be ready for baby no 2!

OwlinaTree · 05/08/2016 07:49

Sorry, thought I'd lost the first post, didn't mean to post 2 basically identical ones!
