New thread - the one where we stop being pregnant and become new mamas! So close to the end. Exciting!

That's great news Belager :) Enjoy getting home!

And more babies on their way! Wow. It's still not August is it??! Hope everything goes smoothly x

We've been home three nights now. It's lovely to be home. It's been hard for DS while I was away and he is still readjusting to me being back at home which is understandable but a bit tiring for us all.

DD is doing well, still looks jaundice but nothing like as bad as she did in hospital. We have been taking her outside as much as we reasonably can.

I am feeling mostly well though a bit washed out this am. But hopefully nothing that lots of water, tea & toast won't sort out. Technically DH's paternity leave finishes on Monday but I think he's going to take a bit of annual leave. It seems a shame for half his paternity leave to be spent before we even get home.

Top purchases so far have been the Snuzpod (bloody amazing - unless I need a wee in the night I don't actually need to get out of bed!) & the Close Caboo carrier (which takes teeny tiny babies).

Christinedonna · 22/07/2016 09:33

Good luck to everyone in the early stages! I need to catch up properly as that was a lot to wake up to! I woke up with such strong cramps it took my breath away, dozed off again and still have cramps and back ache but not sure it's anything (not that I'd know). Just had a thought though. Is the fact that I couldn't feel anything when attempting a sweep, like nothing met the end of my finger..does that mean nothing's low enough and I'm nowhere near labour?

FourForYouGlenCoco · 22/07/2016 10:48

Morning all! Super happy to announce that baby Jack did not hang around and fairly shot into the world at 2.29 this morning. 7lb13oz at 39 weeks exactly Confused really glad he didn't cook for an extra week, I'd have been turned inside out! Labour was v fast and intense, am a bit sore now but all worth it - little first degree tear but no stitches so happy days. I think he looks like a little grumpy old man Grin He spent ages on both boobs soon after birth and has slept ever since. DH taking DD out soon so I can join in!
Will have a proper catch up and reply to everyone later, have slept about 40 mins and desperately need a bit of kip. Forgot how amazingly soothing snuggly newborns are ❤️

ahhhh coco !!! CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to the world baby Jack, your post brought a tear to my eye, my due date buddy throughout this whole process :) So pleased for you and he is so lovely.
Enjoy this precious time and I hope to be joining you in Mummy land very soon...although not much kicking off this end sadly ... !

Christinedonna · 22/07/2016 11:01

Congratulations coco! Definitely a boob man. So happy for you, I don't think I'd get much sleep either with a little cutie like that to cuddle

MrsPMT23 · 22/07/2016 11:26

Congratulations coco! He's gorgeous! Hope you manage to get a bit of sleep!

plimsolls · 22/07/2016 11:37

congrats coco (posted on FB page too but didn't want to ignore this post!!).

Lovely pictures and looking forward to hearing the birth story!

hgleslie89 · 22/07/2016 11:47

So our little one clearly took a wee bit longer, but Beatrice Marion was born at 8.40 (38+6) weighing 6lb1.5oz. Waters broke about 10.50 last night after 2 prostin gel applications and a sweep. Labour progressed very fast - discovered I hate gas and air, but an epidural was a lifesaver after 6 hours of contracting and I was pushing 2 hours later, for about an hour and a half. So waters breaking to birth was about 10 hours!

BAYBEEZ!!! So exciting!

Congratulations & bloody well done to both of you, hgleslie & coco! Hope you're both doing well & these photos of snugly, delicious newborns are making me dead keen to meet my own. Grin

This bus isn't messing about! How many bubs have been born so far? Maybe we need an updated stats list for dozy folk like me keep track.

Hope all the other new mums are getting on well - it's lovely to hear how you're getting on.

Top tips re the Snuzpod & stretchy wrap, biscuits. Has the Caboo felt OK in this heat? Glad to hear your DH has a bit more time he can take off too.

bearhuggy · 22/07/2016 11:57

CONGRATS Leslie on the safe arrival of little Beatrice, she is just adorable !! Well done, enjoy this special time and rest up :) FlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowersFlowers

rumisyum · 22/07/2016 12:02

shanster, quite the acrobat you've got there! Hope baby calms down the antics a bit before birth.

Guesshowmuch, I can add you if I friend you first. Send me a DM with your Facebook name & I'll try to sort you out. Smile

Feeling a bit giddy with excitement about all these babies a-coming. Getting very real now! Though Sod's law, I'll be hanging about still pregnant till 42 weeks...

plimsolls · 22/07/2016 12:09

oh wow! Congratulations hgleslie! What a lovely little girl.

I was going to suggest the same thing rumisyum

Here is my attempt. I've found the last Stats list from our old thread, and marked born on all the ones I can remember off the top of my head to save some of our recovering mothers a job....(perhaps to edit with your baby's dob when you get a second!)

. It would be lovely if some of the new members of the thread would like add their names too. Just copy and paste the list into your own post, if you'd like to add yourself.

Sorry if it is not the most recent list. EDIT: I've realised its definitely not the most recent list as I'm sure there are usernames of people who've given birth already missing. sorry It's a start though Wink

Oh and also, if anyone still has some big purchases to make, Mamas and Papas have 10% off everything bought online this weekend. I might finally get round to buying our carseat!

CheeseandGherkins · 22/07/2016 12:26

Thanks Sophia, I do hope so.

Daytona hope baby stays out for a while yet, must be such a worry.

Crunchy my dh went yesterday instead of me while I stayed with dd3, he took dd4 with him and my grandad looked quite well he said, as well as possible anyway. I plan on going back tomorrow and spending some time with him. Kids broke up yesterday and today so I'll be taking them for a short visit too.

Carebear welcome. The measurements can be out quite a lot and I find it differs depending on who does them. I would expect them to refer for a scan though just in case there are growth issues.

Mrspmt hopefully not much longer for you to wait now! Definitely not on that work keeps calling, decline the calls and make sure she knows not to call you anymore as you have finished work. I've been cleaning and sorting the Moses basket today. About to wash baby clothes. Nesting firmly in place, 34+1 today so baby not quite cooked yet.

Owl I'm also glad of the cooler weather, sleeping in this recent heat has been almost impossible.

Beryl hugs, that sounds horrible for you

Coco yep I know the scans can be out but I've been having serial scans so it's more about the growth compared to those and following the line. If it goes up as it has previously then they will get her out as my stillbirth was at 37 weeks and (she thinks) due to undiagnosed gestational diabetes when I was at a different hospital. Both babies since then have been early and big. They induced me with dd3 at 33+ weeks as things were going downhill and she was 6lbs! My last was 8lbs at 37 weeks but she was also my first section which makes things more difficult for this birth.
Wonderful news! Jack is gorgeous. Enjoy the cuddles and so glad the birth went well and was quick.

Hg congrats! Beatrice is beautiful. Enjoy every minute :)

Shanster hope baby turns, scary stuff

Belager brilliant that you're going home today

Belle welcome :)

Plimsolls how are you getting on?

Biscuits great that you're home and enjoying lovely newborn cuddles. How are your iron levels? Might not help with the washed out feeling if it's on the low side

Christina in my experience I've gone from unfavourable cervix to baby born in a day so I don't think it means a great deal

Rumi I'm feeling the same seeing all the babies!

Biscuitswithtea · 22/07/2016 13:42

Congratulations HG and Coco What happy making news :)

Cheese that's a good reminder. My iron levels were low but not low enough to be put on industrial tablets. But I should be taking my vitamin pills all the same.

Rum we got the NCT Caboo which is slightly lighter weight than the non-NCT Caboo (but otherwise identical and cheaper). We have already, from DS, a Beco Soleil for when DD is older so this will do us fine. Last time we borrowed a Moby wrap. It was good but HOT and DH never really got to grips with the origami nature of it. The Caboo doesn't allow for much margin of error but is also v comfy. Win win :)

Sophia1984 · 22/07/2016 13:48

My mucus plug has come out! Is that likely just because midwife did the sweep?

Biscuitswithtea · 22/07/2016 13:52

Yep Sophia Hopefully things will kick off for you soon! Though I seem to remember thinking my plug had gone with DS - but in fact heaps more came away once contractions started a few days later... Didn't see my plug this time but assume it came out at some point!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 22/07/2016 13:53

Congratulations hgleslie and coco. So glad that both babies are here and all is well! Enjoy those newborn snuggles. It's making me so excited to meet bubs now that babies are appearing. We are doing well on the thread considering it's not yet August!
My birth pool arrived today and midwives go on call for me as of Monday. Grin

BerylMeeps · 22/07/2016 13:54

I had a rough nights sleep sophia too hot and wearily hormonal. DH did make me a lovely tea, although he is grumpy again today. I have distanced myself, I don't have to carry his mood at 38+5. Me n DD have had a good morning together, she has been very solicitous regarding bump too and keeps rubbing it better 😬

Just a week or so to go now !!

LotsOfDots · 22/07/2016 14:22

Congratulations coco and hgleslie hoping it might be my turn soon, getting a bit sparse near the top of the August list!

I'm 38+2 today. Have a helping hand today with the older 2, in the shape of the neighbour's teenage daughter. She's been keeping them occupied with painting nails and helped me with swimming lessons (pool changing rooms this pregnant are so unpleasant!) in return for some holiday money. Best deal ever. I have 10 more minutes of rest and my nails are still unpainted, hoorah. She's coming back next week to do baking with them I think!

MrsZumbaDancer · 22/07/2016 14:37

Congratulations hg and coco eek babies arriving now!

quitecrunchy · 22/07/2016 14:54

Congratulations hg and coco! So lovely to see the babies arriving thick and fast now. Good luck sophia for things getting started soon!

And hello to the new peeps.

Basketofwool · 22/07/2016 15:37

Congrats coco and hgleslie!! So exciting to see babies arriving now! coco I'm due next Friday as well so seeing your little one arrive is terrifying and exciting!

I'm on symptom watch... Got a few aches and pains and feeling a bit lightheaded but don't know if it means anything. This baby is NOT allowed to arrive on Sunday (MIL bday) so I'm really hoping it stays put until next week.

Basketofwool · 22/07/2016 15:40

I have a question about slings/wraps. I'm planning to get an ergo baby when baby is a bit older but would also like a simple stretchy wrap or carrier for the first few weeks/months. I'm considering something like either the Ama wrap or the close caboo. Can anyone recommend anything that would be suitable for DH to use as well? Do men generally get along with stretchy wraps or is it better to get something less 'faffy'?
