Welcome dlah

Baby has moved loads today at one point I think he went transverse which fucking hurt so much. Think he's back head down back to back now though clearly just fancied a dance

Ive finished work!!!! woooohooooo! So freaking happy :) and tired...and emosh. Averaging 3/4 hours sleep a night with added wees....not nice. Am just very achy and sore. I cnt believe how tender my insides feel, baby moves and its like im bruising inside, rolling over at night also feels like everything gets twisted. Walking is the heaviest most uncomfortable experience too. Why do i feel like this baby might be early? Wishful thinking maybe. Pretty sure my baby is bum up and twizzling between transverse and head down. Very big movements. Has anyone packed a bag yet?

Newmum90 · 25/08/2016 22:23

Clank - woohoo! Good news about work. Celebrate with a nice glass of shloeur Wink

Figgy - thanks for sharing your experience. Thats all quite quick. My OH's sister was days stuck in hospital after being induced with no labour which is maybe whats putting me off! Ive also heard contractions can be more painful?

Ive HAD it with decorating today. Desperately trying to get walls painted by the end of the weekend but the neverending skimming sanding primering undercoating is doing my head in!

Kariana · 26/08/2016 00:21

Great news about finishing work Clank, I felt much better after I did.

Fresh your bump is very neat and actually doesn't look that huge to me, I think mine is about the same (we seem to be about the same build). At my last mw appointment at 31+6 I'd was measuring 30.5cm - this has somehow shot me to just above the 50th percentile even though previously I was only just on the 10th. Quite disappointed really and also a bit worried now the curve has gone very wonky, it doesn't seem like it should do that. Mw didn't seem bothered and even talked about the fact that I was small before she plotted it onto the growth chart. She also said not to worry at all about the baby's position at this stage so I'm not concerned with that.

We moved house today and I'm currently finding it impossible to sleep. I am a hot sweaty mess and keep needing the toilet every 10 minutes. It's awful! Pleased how smoothly the move went, not looking forward to emptying all the boxes though!

April241 · 26/08/2016 07:34

newmum my consultant thinks it's unlikely I'll go by 37 weeks and thinks it'll be before (I hope not) however the guidelines show that at 37 weeks I should be offered an induction, i think it's due to research showing their placentas have a higher chance of failing after 37 weeks. The midwife also said if I go over 37 weeks and start heading towards 38 I'll be induced. Would much rather go into labour myself or have a planned section before an induction, I don't want to add any further complications into a birth I'm already worried about - eek!!!

dlah hallo!!

clank wahey!!! Feet up for a bit! I've packed babies bag and halfway through my bag, planning on finishing mine this weekend.

kariana happy new home!

31 weeks today, where did last week go Confused it's literally shot by. Ordered more nursery things yesterday which should mostly be here by today and tomorrow, scary! We built up the changing table last night so all the furniture is it now, just the wall stickers, blinds/lamp and then nappies etc for the changing table to go in. Potentially 6 weeks to go, waaaaaaaah.

Afreshstartplease · 26/08/2016 07:49

I'm done with work now too but three DC at home so not much time for feet up!

Build wise pre pregnancy I am generally size 8 in most things, and take petite length in trousers as I'm only 5ft 1. I think this is what throws me up to 95th percentile for bump!

I've never been pregnant on by due date, always gone into labour naturally in the two weeks before so in my mind anywhere from about the 5th October!

I do not envy anyone moving house. I was trying to decorate everywhere before baby is born but this went well and truly tits up and I only managed one room!

Ugh had the most horrendous night. Alarm for my dh went off around 6.30 but I'd already woken by then, having not sleep till after 1am. So tired but feel like I won't get back to sleep. I have the most horrendous restless legs! Anyone know a magic cure? Have been on my feet so much the last couple of days that it surely can't be lack of exercise.

Kariana · 26/08/2016 07:57

Fresh I was the same size pre pregnancy, but even though I hardly look different apart from the bump I've had to get size 12 maternity leggings! Sadly I'm not as stretchy as you so I'mvery envious of your lack of stretch marks, I have horrendous purple marks all over my lower abdonmen Sad

Afreshstartplease · 26/08/2016 08:04

I think I have magic skin

I had a bad night too, awake 2-5. Then dd came and poked me in the face at 6. She watched TV in my bed for a bit but was determined to lie on my bump resulting in me nearly pissing myself. Think I slept funny too as my right leg is extra sore this morning.

OP posts:
Afreshstartplease · 26/08/2016 08:06

Oh and I got size 10 maternity leggings because I worry about them going see through! Mat jeans are an 8 though. And I still have a few pairs of joggers and harem pants that are none maternity and I can wear. It's tops I've been buggered for. I outgrew some of my maternity vests at about five bloody months!

Welcome Dlah!

I'm very jealous of those of you who have finished work - I've been off this week and have next week off too, but then I'm back until 30 September. I have no idea how I'm going to manage that! I'm getting to the stage of being very fed up of being pregnant - I've got heartburn, indigestion, SPD means even the most basic tasks are excruciating and to top it all off I now itch all over. I'm a bit concerned about the itching actually - I have severe eczema so itching is fairly normal for me, but for the past few days the palms of my hands and soles of my feet have been itching - am I right in thinking this is a symptom of something pregnancy related? I'm a little bit reluctant to call the midwife, as they will use any little thing as a reason to stop births in the local midwife unit, which would mean I have to go to the hospital which is much further away, and not very nice.

Afreshstartplease · 26/08/2016 08:27

I'd get checked out schnitzel I think it can be a sign of liver problems

Hi everyone 34 weeks today. Woke up with really sore boobs but they don't look any bigger to me. Had my first proper sleep since Monday last night as my DH is in Aberdeen and I don't sleep when he goes away was nearly 6 hrs as kids slept in til 7.30, they never do that!
Welcome dlah and anyone else who has joined the thread recently I am a bit behind. Clank hope you get chance for a rest now I only worked one week into the summer holidays, it's been had enough keeping my 3 entertained for the rest of it. I am nearly due for my next inspection now so worried they will come soon, not really ready at the moment.
newmum this is the first pregnancy where I haven't decorated, I usually start well but DH has to finish once I get too big to go up ladders etc.
Sadly don't have anywhere to put the baby stuff as we had to shelve our loft conversion until next year so have swapped the girls room with ours to get a bit more space but no furniture left to put baby bits in.
Finally plumped for a next2me crib, looks huge have to fit it to bed yet to check it will fit.
Baby is due day after my birthday so hoping it could be early this time, I wonder who will be first!

EnoughAlready999 · 26/08/2016 10:01

The baby has moved and I no longer have a swollen right side of floof! (or whatever you call it) It was swollen from my right hip down into my groin
and causing an unsightly raised vein area on my inner thigh which has now gone! I thought I'd have to wait til she was out for that to disappear.

I am lucky like Fresh and also have stretchy skin. I wonder what it is that makes it different?

Hope you feel better now you've finished work Clank. I haven't been working so I've been skint but at least not exhausted and in pain like some of you.

EnoughAlready999 · 26/08/2016 10:04

Havetobe I am thinking about setting up as a childminder. Any advice for me? I'm imagining starting
it next summer when the baby is about 9 months and the house and garden is child friendly. Find it all rather daunting though.

HobnobDunker · 26/08/2016 11:14

Hello Dlah!

Great news Clank, I'm counting down the days until I finish work! I felt bruised inside last week, she kicked me so hard one day that the next was really quite painful.

I find myself stressing about the most inane issues, my current one is a changing bag. I don't want a 'proper' changing bag but can't seem to find an alternative that I'm happy with. I have a backpack that I could use but I feel like it's too bulky. I realise that this just isn't an actual problem and that I need to move on and get a grip. I think I'm focusing on stuff like this to avoid thinking about important things such as....giving birth!

Charlierhi · 26/08/2016 11:25

Itching on palms of hands & soles of feet is a sign of obstetric cholestasis (not sure of spelling). You need to tell midwife ASAP & get a blood test.

I had this with DC1 resulting in need for induction with pessary gel. It took 1hr to start contractions (I didn't believe it - thought it was another BH). I didn't have any further interventions & baby arrived next day. I was home 7hrs later. Having an induction doesn't have to mean more intervention - it just raises the risks.

Likewise, starting off naturally doesn't guarantee no interventions required.

Good luck everyone!

Kariana · 26/08/2016 11:55

Sorry Dhal forgot to say welcome! I blame lack of sleep, managed to have a bit more now so feeling slightly better.

Sorry Schnitzel but I'm with Charlie and Fresh, itchy hands and feet is actually pretty serious and you should get it checked out without delay. In my area if you develop the full condition they will induce at 37 weeks so obviously not something to be taken lightly, there's medication to control it though if it is that so don't get too worried.

Fresh you have the opposite problem to me! I still fit into tops, especially my longer ones which I think I will be in to the end. I found size 10 leggings too tight across my bump so moved to 12 which are a little big on my legs but not too bad. Any weight I've put on (apart from bump and boobs) has gone on my face and thighs so think that's why they are ok. Size 10s still look fine and do fit but I absolutely hate anything tight across my waist or hips, even pre pregnancy I hated it so as soon as something is even slightly tight around my bump I've been moving up a size. My pj bottoms are so loose I think I actually went too far! They barely stay up Grin

Afreshstartplease · 26/08/2016 12:19

Ah I kind of get what you mean, I don't wear anything over the bump. If I buy over bump leggings I roll them over!

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 26/08/2016 12:37

I called the midwife, I have to go in this afternoon for them to take bloods. I think it might be an eczema flare up as I have a large past of eczema on my arm, but better to be checked I suppose.

Afreshstartplease · 26/08/2016 12:59

Always better safe than sorry hopefully it is nothing to worry about

OP posts:
SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 26/08/2016 16:35

The midwife ended up coming out to me, but couldn't get any blood. So I ended up having to go to the hospital anyway. Though I should get the results either today or tomorrow, so at least I don't have to wait very long.

Afreshstartplease · 26/08/2016 18:12

Fingers crossed for you schnitzel

I didn't get much sleep last night either! This heat does feel like it's preparing me for what a newborn is going to be like again, but I wish t wouldn't!

Can't get comfortable in bed anymore. I have a big body pillow. Anyone got any tips?

Anyone else feeling a bit short of breath too? My lungs don't feel like they can get enough air in at the moment!

April241 · 26/08/2016 20:03

I woke up today with right hip pain that's had me hobbling about and gradually its progressed so now my entire lower back is in complete agony. I can barely make it to the toilet and back. I'm also having the worst hot flushes and lower belly tightenings although there's no rhythm to them and they're not painful at all.

Totally freaking out that is an early labour sign. I'm just being extremely dramatic and it's probably because my OH has went out tonight, he's off to a gig with his aunt as his last night out, bless. I'm just paranoid that this will be the one night we need to go to hospital as he's been off all week and it's just my luck.

Trying to get comfy on the couch and read a book but think I'll need some paracetamol now.
