I've never really got many stretch marks in my pregnancies I must be stretchy

Northernlight22 · 24/08/2016 22:24

I've got quite a few stretchmarks now - boooo

Bought some new bras today too (yawn) as my boobs seem to be getting huge. 😳

ChatterNatterer · 24/08/2016 22:56

I'm putting off getting nursing bras as I know I will be a sweaty mess in Mothercare stuck in a tight bra getting pissed off - I really need to do it soon tho!! Still in my pre pregnancy bras (all two of them anyway!) and they're now getting a bit tight!! Hmm

MrsMKJ · 24/08/2016 23:11

Ladies, I noticed today bio oil is 1/3 off in boots. Can't remember if it was on here or another thread we were talking about bump itchiness and the stretch mark saga. I know it doesn't prevent them... But some people like to use it so thought I'd say! Smile

I've had to get up and pee THREE times since coming to bed at 11pm.

Harrumph.

ChatterNatterer · 25/08/2016 03:53

I havent said what a lovely neat bump you have fresh Smile

On my second pee of the night and turned awkwardly in bed and had such a pain down my right side of my groin/under bump - had it before and it goes away but I think it's that round ligament pain? Uff!

Afreshstartplease · 25/08/2016 07:52

Thanks. It's changed shape in the past couple of weeks which I didn't realise at the time. My outtie belly button disappeared but TBH I didn't even notice. Turns out baby has now made himself nice and comfy back to back! The area over my belly button is soft and flat as pointed out by the mw the other day! Can't believe I didn't notice.
Is there any point me trying to turn him yet or could he just go back? Mw said don't worry unless he still there at 35 weeks.

32+1 now. Reading about back to back babies it would seem I've probably encouraged him there as I've spent too much time slobbed on the sofa due to spd! Oops!

Oh and I was woken by horrendous leg cramp this morning which is still sore now!

OP posts:
Northernlight22 · 25/08/2016 08:10

I got some in m&s that were s/m/l/Xl instead of the normal sizes in the hope that if my boobs grow again there will be a bit of give in there!

I've been told not to worry where baby is for a few weeks yet (33 now) as he'll be doing whatever he wants!

ditsygal · 25/08/2016 09:41

Just dropping in again to say Hi as i've been following the facebook group for the last couple of months but thought I would catch up on here too now!

To contribute to the changing mat chat, we had 3 last time and will be doing the same this time, one in the bedroom, one in the bathroom for bath time nappy changes and one downstairs. We also did all changes on the floor or bed.
I will be 35 weeks on Saturday, and next week I will get our c-section date which I expect will be around 39 weeks so really not long to go now! Feeling pretty organised with hospital bag packed, except for baby clothes which I am going to wash tomorrow (as its raining today so I wouldn't be able to dry them and don't want to tumble dry them).

Afreshstartplease · 25/08/2016 09:43

I'm going to start prepping bags in the next week, I need to wash my holdall first. I might do that today if I ever reach the bottom of the washing basket!

Stocked up on fairy to wash the baby clothes! Exciting!

What type of bag are you packing? Is a small hand luggage case on wheels too much? I like the idea of being able to open it and find stuff easily.
Also do you HAVE to wash new clothes? I have bought loads and don't know what size it will be so want to keep it in the packet until we see if it's a titch or whopper so I can stuff back.

Afreshstartplease · 25/08/2016 10:52

They advise you to wash clothes but all of mine have worn stuff in first days that wasn't washed and been fine.
I'll be taking two lots of vest and sleep suits that have been washed, one lot in up-to one month (10lb) and one in up-to 3 months (I think 14lb)

My bag is a sports holdall I've used for all my births. It's fairly large. I put my stuff in there and bits that won't fit in the baby changing bag.

OP posts:
Afreshstartplease · 25/08/2016 10:54

The only up to one month things I'll be washing in advance are those I'm taking to hospital. I'll keep the other bits in the size in packets incase they need to go back.

DC3 was 8lb6 but long and squashed in up to one month so I didn't buy much this time! Can always get more if needed!

Oh you don't look huge Fresh! Thanks for the pic Smile

Newmum90 · 25/08/2016 11:19

April - your post at 01:38 made me giggle. Ive been regularly up at that silly sort of time too.

I had consultant apt yesterday ay 11am. Didnt leave the hospital until 3.30pm Hmm all the docs were in theatre.

All obs showing as normal thankfully although they had another nightmare trying to get blood from . Apparently my veins look great but dont give much easily! Growth scan showed bang on normal again.

However consultant and lead midwive sat with us to tell us they would recommend inducing betweem 34 and 36 weeks. They havent suggested a date yet and wont until after next weeks check up at 34 (im 33 currently.) Really upset as since the incident with the waters all obs and scans have shown as fine, i feel fine. Its just preventative and protocol. Baby is showing as having enough fluid at scans. Unsure what to do as really wanted to have as natural a birth as possible, inductions all look rather scary on the internet (increased risk of c section and forceps delivery). And 34 - 36 still seems very early for baby even after the steroids. Dont want to fly in the face of medical advice but it seems wrong to me!

April241 · 25/08/2016 11:22

I've only washed the baby clothes we're taking to the hospital, the rest I'll wash probably about 35/36 weeks but only the first size, I've packed 3 vests, 3 sleep suits, a cardigan, socks, hat and going home outfit each. Only packed the early baby size so if they rock out at 7lb I'll be sending my OH to Asda pronto Grin

April241 · 25/08/2016 11:27

Haha newmum it's brilliant isn't it, up with the birds! Why are they wanting to induce you so early? Sorry if I've missed it before, I read all the posts but don't always see the username so I can't remember if I've seen anything 🙈.
Could you ask for a second opinion with another consultant? Also if they're pushing you to do something you really don't want too and don't think it's necessary you could refuse and ask for regular monitoring. They say if I go over 37 weeks I should be induced but I can refuse and just be monitored to ensure babies are okay etc.

April241 · 25/08/2016 11:31

Ache, posted a reply new but the page didn't load!

Why are they wanting to induce you at 34-36, was it to do with a leak? I can't remember if I've read a previous post, I don't always check the usernames, eek! Could you ask to speak with someone else for some opinions, or if they're really recommending it ask to be monitored regularly and induced as close to 36 weeks rather than the 34.

Afreshstartplease · 25/08/2016 11:39

34 seems early, but I think I'd be OK with 36 as it is near enough term. Can you try and push for that?

I'm measuring around bang on size wise with the old method of cm being same as week. So at 31+6 I measured 32cm. But when plotted on my individual graph it throws out massive baby warnings lol. My last baby was born on 95th percentile too so I can't see this one being under 8lb and in my head I'm expecting atleast 9lb

Fresh we have a back to back here too MW also pointed out the change in my bump which I can see (and feel) now everytime I sit down I definitely cant slouch as not enough room I spent last night over the back of a hard chair as I just couldn't get comfy any other way. Looks like I will using my Daisy birth techniques to try and get him to turn. Ds was 91st centile when born at 41+12 I am expecting to be late and as big again which means I am expecting a Mid October arrival.

As for induction ladies who have concerns about it I was induced last time and found it quite a pleasant experience no paranoia about am in labour aren't it?, no rush to hospital I wouldn't mind it again if necessary. I did end up with forceps but that was more because I got an infection and they needed to get ds out quickly. There are so many variables to consider in labour it is impossible to know the right thing to do.

New I would also push back to get as close to due date as possible if everything looking ok.

Washing baby stuff is going to have to wait until am on mat leave but then will give me something to entertain self whilst waiting for baby to appear.

Newmum90 · 25/08/2016 13:19

April - its getting ridiculous as i am always a nightmare to get out of bed in the morning if ive been up for too long!

They are inducing as they think my waters went at 29 weeks ( a month ago now) so ive been treated for PROMS. I didnt know anything about it until it happened basically went to the loo at work, about 5 minutes later felt a gush of water and my jeans and chair were soaking. Initially thought "gosh HOW have i managed to wet myself when ive just been to the toilet?" But i had no control over it at all and on closer inspection fluid had a really weird chemical like smell definitely wasnt urine. Called maternity unit who told me to come in, tested pads for fluid and it definitely wasnt urine. BUT first scan after the rupture still showed fluid around the baby so it seems its a leak. They kept me in over the weekend to monitor fluid loss and gave me steroids etc but since that weekend where there was slight further leakage everything has been showing as normal (including fluid level.) Theyve been monitoring me once or twice a week.

april why are they looking at inducing you at 37? My gut is to hold out if everything stays the same until 37 too.

Newmum90 · 25/08/2016 13:21

Figgygal thats very reassuring to hear. How long after the induction did you go into labour?

Figgygal · 25/08/2016 17:54

They started process at 8pm checked me at midnight I'd say it started 3am ish but I was oblivious until they checked me at 8am when I was 4cms. I was putting the pains down to the induction cramps I was warned about.

Hello October ladies,

I've only just come across this thread currently 31+1, due 26th October!

Also got a back to back little girl as of this week but not overly worried for now, spent the day washing her first load of clothes Smile

Just thought I'd say Hello! And hope it's all going smoothly enough for everyone
