I'm also due on the 10th! I'm having a boy, does anyone else know what they're having?

Have any of you been given MATB1 forms? I went to get mine today but they said I needed to bring a payslip Confused I've never heard of this before and it's very annoying as work need it this week!

Fedupithink · 25/07/2016 22:19

I've got my MATB1, midwife asked at my 24 week appt if I needed one and she filled it in for me, just had to take it downstairs for the GP receptionist to stamp. Nothing mentioned about payslips it's only got a few very basic details on.

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 25/07/2016 22:21

That's what I thought would happen Fedup. I have never heard of needing a payslip and couldn't find anything about it after Googling it either. It means I'm cutting it very fine with sorting out my maternity leave. This was the first appointment I've had since my booking so wouldn't have been able to sort it (or find out about payslips!) before.

helenatroy · 25/07/2016 22:36

Due on 17th c section booked in for 6th. It's a little girl.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 25/07/2016 23:16

Glad you've got the all clear Jade.
Welcome Muffy. I'm hoping to get my MATB1 in Wed when I see the midwife next. Last time it was just handed over.

Had a big dinner (Morrison's salad bar) tonight. Regretting it now... too full to sleep!!!

Stripykitten · 26/07/2016 06:03

Hi Muffy, nice to meet someone with the same EDD. Heee! We were told we're probably having a little girl.
Where in the country are you??
As for the MATB1, I just texted my midwife and she left it with reception at the surgery for me. I didn't want to leave it to the last minute. Nobody asked for payslips, I don't know why the would need that.

Glad you're feeling better, Jade!

Spottyladybird · 26/07/2016 06:39

My EDD is 10th November too.

I saw my midwife at 23 weeks and she gave me my MATB1 then. I'm a teacher so needed to get it sorted before the holidays. I didn't need a payslip. You need one for every employer though so if you have more than one job you need another original.

coppergrey · 26/07/2016 09:55

Another girl over here!

I've got a midwife appointment on 8th Aug so will ask for my MATB1 form then.

My Snuzpod arrived from Mamas & Papas this morning!

smellsofelderberries · 26/07/2016 10:15

So glad to hear everything is okay Jade!!

So exciting getting presents in the post Copper Grin

Welcome Muffy! I'm having a girl , due two days after you on the 12th.

Who is doing the Facebook group adding? Want to join up there but can't remember who to PM?

FuzzyOwl · 26/07/2016 11:50

Just PM me with with the email address you use to log onto FB Smells and anyone else who wants to join, and I'll send you the link. Smile

I'm also having a girl and no one has mentioned the need for a payslip to me. I'm not getting my MATB1 until my 28 week appointment though so will remember to take a payslip just in case.

Never needed a payslip for my MatB1 form either, how odd.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 26/07/2016 12:59

You do only get a MATB1 if you're employed so perhaps it's just how they prove you're employed where you are? Though why you'd want one if you weren't, I'm not sure!!

bobcat85 · 26/07/2016 13:58

Welcome Muffy, I'm due on the 15th Nov and I'm having a boy as well.

I'm seeing the midwife on Thursday for my 24 week appointment so she said she's going to give my MATB1 to me then. She didn't mention anything about having to take a payslip though.

smellsofelderberries · 26/07/2016 15:02

Is anyone else claiming maternity allowance instead of maternity pay? I'm seeing my consultant on Fridya morning, going to ask him to do my MatB1 form and take everything to the job centre that afternoon, but slightly nervous it won't be sorted by the time we leave (the 8th) and I'll miss out. Obviously I won't be paid for a while after we leave but I'm hoping it's straight forward. But my recent dealings with HMRC (different agency though!) I'm not hopful though Confused

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 26/07/2016 15:59

It sounds like there was definitely a miscommunication somewhere then! I have a doctors appointment tomorrow so I'm hoping they'll be able to give me one then. I'd better bring my payslip just in case!

I'm in London stripykitten, what about you?

tiredmumrighthere · 26/07/2016 19:41

Welcome muffy, I'm having a girl and due 14 nov, hope your pregnancies been good so far Smile

How is everyone? I've got a rotten summer cold atm Sad first time I've been poorly with this pregnancy (apart from the morning sickness in earlier times) and it's taken it out of me today Confused laying down now with my feet up which btw feel so achey, been having a spring clean today I'm defiantly nesting atm which is a good thing I'm sure!

Anyone else experiencing braxton hicks? I've been getting them every evening for the last week x

Fedupithink · 26/07/2016 21:35

No Braxton hicks but I've got such bad heartburn. It's agony, I've taken the max dose of Rennies but I can't even sit comfortably when all I want to do is go up to bed.

When did the BH start with your first?

needanewjob · 26/07/2016 21:37

I've always had loads of braxton hicks with every pregnancy (this is my third) in theory it's your uterus becoming toned for labour and to be fair both labours I've experienced so far have been quick so maybe there's an element of truth!?! Fingers crossed for a speedy arrival again this time!

I've been shopping again! Think I'm finding my nesting groove.... baby is getting all sorts of accessories!!

tiredmumrighthere · 26/07/2016 21:46

This is my 5th and I've never ever had heartburn Shock and I only ever had bh with my 4th and didn't get them until I was 30+ weeks so this seems really early to me (24+1)

needanewjob · 26/07/2016 21:59

Mine are often triggered by movement, mine or baby's! Every pregnancy I've had bh from around 22 weeks... I also suffer from heartburn particularly if I have a big evening meal or a too fatty/rich meal. Currently I have what I think is baby's backside up under my ribs which is pretty uncomfortable

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 26/07/2016 22:36

I've got awful Braxton hicks and heartburn tonight. The bh are way more severe than last time - proper achey pains front, back and down into my thighs! With dd I just had tightening from about 36 wks, but this time I'm getting this most evenings (like terrible period pains) and the only thing that stopped it was getting the birthing ball out! Didn't expect to need that at 24 wks!!

tiredmumrighthere · 26/07/2016 22:53

Oh wow! Isn't it crazy how every pregnancy is different Shock this heartburn is all new to me I didn't even know that was it until I explained what I was feeling to my mum and she told me that's what it was, I hope it doesn't get any worse because I'm really uncomfortable tonight what with that and these tightenings Confused my feet are so sore and achey aswell! I'm full of problems tonight think it's my bedtime, see what tomorrow brings!

Stripykitten · 27/07/2016 06:43

Hi Muffy, I'm in Leighton Buzzard but I work in London. :)

I didn't BH could start so early... I don't think I'm getting it though sometimes the bump feels a little painful and it stops when I change positions. Is that normal?

I'm going to see the midwive today so I'll ask her about it.

Stripykitten · 27/07/2016 06:43

*I didn't know BH...

CocklesandMussels · 27/07/2016 09:08

Welcome Muffy!
Wow all these BHs, I don't think I've ever had them. I can sometimes feel my uterus getting tighter but no pain or anything. Never experienced a contraction as DD was an elective section. Hoping to keep it that way!

I'm on day 3 of 12 in a row at work. All bets are off as to how long I'll last. I have to do quite a lot of standing and walking in my job and I'm not managing so well, I'm making most people come to my desk if they want something, but I can't always do that. Hot chocolate helps though!
