DartmoorDoughnut · 29/07/2016 17:20

Happy birthday Bristol it looks like you're celebrating in style!

Had our scan today, all fine and we're having another boy, yay! ELCS booked for 5/12 Grin

Bigfam · 29/07/2016 20:40

Awww great news Dartmoor. Grin

I've not eaten since yesterday around lunch time, feeling like complete 💩 😢

Bigfam · 29/07/2016 20:41

Not happy shit either, as pictured above!

BristolLFR · 29/07/2016 20:43

It's this stuff

www.thewhiskyexchange.com/p/30559/seedlip-spice-94-non-alcoholic-spirit

It smells quite clove-y, and the reviews do say it's quite strong on the cloves so make sure you like them before buying it!

BristolLFR · 29/07/2016 20:44

I also stumbled on this the other day but haven't tried it yet.

I do miss a cider on a hot day, especially since I don't like lager so becks blue won't work for me

Thisisbonkers · 29/07/2016 20:58

Rekordilig (sp!) do a non-alcoholic cider too Smile

Stargirl84 · 30/07/2016 08:19

Am I the only one still waiting for their 20 week scan? It's killing me! Scan is this Thursday but can't stop worrying. Alcohol free gin sounds almost as good as the real thing!

Hannahcarp27 · 30/07/2016 08:38

Stargirl mine isn't until Friday so I'm in the same boat. Actually feel much calmer this time round compared to 12 week scan. Just hoping for a healthy baby. Starting to recognise movement now 20 wks tomorrow so that has made me happy. The movement has been there a while I've just been confusing it with wind lol

Jfw82 · 30/07/2016 08:38

Also still waiting - scan is on Tues which still seems ages away!
Koppaberg do some non alcoholic cider too....

BristolLFR · 30/07/2016 09:31

In case anyone had a trip to Florida planned

flyawayblue · 30/07/2016 09:36

My 20 week scan is really late, 22+, so I have ages to wait.

babyinthacorner · 30/07/2016 10:20

Hi all, I was on the original threads, but haven't posted for a while - glad to see everyone's doing ok and nausea/sickness almost on the way out for everyone!

My question is about antenatal classes - I'm in the Watford area and just looking on westherts website and it seems it's all private classes now? Last pg, we went to a class at the hospital run for free by a midwife which was great. It wouldn't at all surprise me if we have to pay for private classes now, but it would be a shame when the hospital run one was so good...

LittleBear01 · 30/07/2016 10:32

Hi all, sorry I haven't posted for a while. What's everyone up to today? It's my 6 year wedding anniversary so we're off shopping at Lakeside then out for dinner tonight Smile

TipBoov · 30/07/2016 10:45

Had the scan yesterday, joining team pink!

Some issues with growth - baby is low on the percentiles and almost under 5th percentile for head circumference, so I have to go back for a growth scan in 4 weeks. Really worried now as the usual causes for this (smoking, drinking etc) aren't something I've done, even the rare glass of wine on a Friday evening was stopped before we started IVF. However I've not been eating as well as I could, mostly due to so many foods turning my stomach, so I'm now really forcing myself to eat a more balanced diet and get my 5 a day.

I'm also a lot more on the go than I was in my last pregnancy, so maybe I need to slow down a little.

Fingers crossed baby has a growth spurt in the next few weeks.

SouthDownsSunshine · 30/07/2016 12:00

babyinthecorner we don't get any nhs classes in our area either. Just private. NCT, although expensive, do offer substantial discounts though.

tipboov if you're baby is low on the centiles throughout, maybe you're just growing a little one? I hope there are no underlying problems xx

Bigfam · 30/07/2016 15:39

For anyone that's formula feeding, what bottles are you using? With all my other dc I've used tommee tippee but I thought I'd try something different this time around, I got a gift set by Dr browns which is on offer normally 49.99 down to 27.99, it comes with the microwave sterilizer and 5 bottles (the bottles are quite expensive on their own so thought it was a bit of a bargain), a bottle brush and travel caps 😊

Have ordered a car seat as well (group 0-1) rather than just a group 0, that only lasts 9 months. And one of those bath seats where you can wash the baby whilst they're on it (never bought one of those before) and 2 packs of nappies, thinking about buying a second hand fuschia chicco next2me crib for £60 as well. Smile

Thisisbonkers · 30/07/2016 17:14

I'm not necessarily planning to bottle feed (although if I can express then I will be!) but I bought a tommee tippee steriliser thingy whatsit set on Amazon prime day.

Also got some nappies today Shock

Nojo82 · 30/07/2016 17:16

Hi all, I'm still waiting on my 20week scan. Ithe isn't until 9th Aug. Feels like a lifetime away. My bump has almost doubled in the last week and the pressure is intense. Constant toilet visits too..

Bottles, I'm using Dr browns. 4th baby and from experience with one of them I had to end up buying them after having bought tommee tippee ones. So for me it's worth the extra money just in case you end up needing them anyway..

Minispringroll · 30/07/2016 18:21

We've got a cot (but will probably start with bedside cot as well, bigfam) and have started to decorate the baby's room. DH has removed most of the rubbish, which had been stored in there, and moved it up to the attic. We've also managed to get some shelves and drawers for the inbuilt wardrobe, which was mostly a bit pointless before, since you couldn't really put anything in it...well, there was an old mattress...

I got some Avent Natural bottles on offer a few weeks back. Also got some sleepsuits (we've got 2 newborn size,..and will have 6 up to 1 month...then a few 0-3 months and up...will I need much more??).

Carseat...I was hoping to get the Trider with the Matrix Light or perhaps the Transporter to begin with. After that, I might be able to convince DH to get one that converts and lasts for a little while. Hmm He doesn't particularly like spending money and I appear have an expensive taste with stuff like that. Blush We were just talking this morning about how my parents didn't even have seatbelts in the car when I was that little...let alone a carseat...Grin

Nojo82 · 30/07/2016 19:26

We got a cot too. Just gona put baby straight into that. That's the plan for now anyway..

bumbleclat · 30/07/2016 19:41

It was in the newspaper today that there have been 13 cases of Zika in the UK and a couple in Spain.
I'm all ready to go to Manorca on Saturday an feeling really worried.
One good thing is that I literally NEVER get bitten by mosquitoes. Last summer, DH and I went to Corsica and he spent the whole week being bitten and I wasn't bitten once.
I'm hoping they'll not find me interesting.
What are you all doing about holidays? Are you changing plans due to new Zika outbreaks?
Any reassuring words welcomed :)
Thanks.

Minispringroll · 30/07/2016 19:51

bumbleclat We were meant to go to Spain but DH is worried about Zika, so we changed plans. We'll be going to Cornwall instead (and he owes me a holiday somewhere hot next year). The mosquito species doesn't live in the UK - too cold, I think. As far as I know, UK cases are people who got infected abroad...
Several airports of Spanish islands have filters installed, though. Don't know about Menorca. Might be worth checking what the origin of the Spanish cases was.

Last year, we went on holiday to Germany (close to Berlin), which was absolutely lovely. We had an amazing hotel right by a lake, with its own sauna boat and little pier to jump in from. Also close to 30 degrees most days, which is what I miss when I'm spending the summer in the UK.

bumbleclat · 30/07/2016 20:00

Thank you.
I have been scrimping and saving all year for this and it's a family holiday with brother, sister in law, nephew, niece and step daughter, I'll be so gutted to cancel but couldn't live with myself if the worst happened.
Oh it's so tricky.
I hope you have a great time in Cornwall, I lived there for 5 years and it's gorgeous.

Minispringroll · 30/07/2016 20:06

I was gutted when we heard about Zika and DH got all worried and wanted to go to Cornwall (we are living in the South West anyway...Grin ). It'll be lovely, but it's not terribly far from home...and it's a self-catered cottage. So not what I had in mind. Was thinking swim-up room in an all inclusive, child-free hotel...

I'm sure you'll have a great time, though. Perhaps make sure to take some mosquito spray and maybe a mosquito net? Or slather DH in some honey, to make sure they are concentrating on him? Grin
