New December babies thread!

I love Romily too, but husband doesn't like it

been bargain hunting again today, got the avent complete nautral starter set in mothercare was 150 reduced to 75 then reduced again to 55, my parents took it home with them along with the 2nd hand bits i picked up from a friend of a friend this morning, also looked at the travel systems and travel cots with my parents my dad was surprised at how much they are, 830 atm for the silver cross pioneer travel system, but so far got it down to 660 online, anyone used either of these sites baby'smart and online4baby??

going give Winstanleys Pramworld a call - amazing prices for buggies and travel systems but they rarely put them online, and they do deliver. Fab service too.

StubbleTurnips, thanks online is the same price at baby'smart atm, so will give them a ring nearer to august bank holiday so see if there's a sale deal

loverain I get incredibly anxious before scans, sorry it was the same consultant (with an early scan I was scared about getting the same nurse that did my last scan showing mc3) but great news that it looked good in there.

I went to my first prenatal yoga class tonight. It was really lovely and going to be so helpful with the birth. I've never seen so many pregnant women in one room though, there were at least 20 bumps in there!

I think romy is winning at the moment vote wise, I just keep thinking to myself that when I shorten those two names it will be con or rome (I don't intentionally shorten names but I have with my other 4 dc) & I just hate the idea of calling her con 😕

We've still only got a pram at the moment, think we will start getting bits when all the children go back to school, as at the moment we are trying to focus on being a family and having days out together, so far we've managed paultons park and a beach trip and planning on going crabbing the weekend if weather permits!

I'm wide awake having fallen into a deep sleep at 8pm. Is anyone else feeling tired again having been fine for a while?
I was so tired yesterday it was like wading through treacle all day and now here I am watching the sun rise again.

Crazy dream for last night - I dreamt I had had the baby the day before, and had no recollection of the birth at all. Oh, and it was a boy not a girl. And it was huge. Really weird.

Love I'm sorry to hear you were so nervous but pleased all seemed fine, and I did inwardly smile at you throwing up on the consultant. Lol!

At the moment my favourite name is probably Charlotte, but I'm not quite certain yet. Also we were originally going to call DD1 Charlotte but when she was born the name didn't suit her so all my names are probably subject to change depending on what baby girl looks like when I meet her.

Got a few days off work now and feel tiredness seems to have caught up with me. I think the demands of having a full-time job, a toddler and being pregnant normally have caught up with me. Plus work has been really stressful recently and I have a theory that if you are a mental health nurse you definitely need to be able to have a stiff drink at the end of each working day, so I've been really missing my evening glass of wine recently. Lol! It's my birthday Saturday so I might let myself have a small glass of something in the evening.

Slight panic this morning when I looked at the date and realised my due date is exactly 4 months away. Plus DD was a week early, so I may well only have less than 4 months left. Have done no shopping or planning whatsoever bar buying DH a novelty t-shirt about having 2 daughters! Should be fine though. We luckily don't really need to buy much as we saved everything from DD, and because we are having another girl we are pretty set for clothes as well. Mainly it'll be stocking up on bits like nappies etc nearer the time, as we already have moses basket, changing table, bath, etc; and to be honest, newborns don't actually need a lot (except milk and nappies - bloody loads of nappies)!

We've just got back from a lovely few days in the Lake District and really struggling with being back at work today... it's going to be a long day!

It's our 20 week scan on Tuesday and I think we've decided to stay team yellow - partly because I went through all DT's hand-me-downs and found lots of gender neutral stuff and I think we can find lots more too. We found out with DTs, but mainly because we were having so many scans and had had enough surprises after we found out it was twins. This time it'll be lovely to have a surprise on the day I think.

Lovely to see your good news on the scan bigfam. I haven't caught up properly yet but will do today so sorry if I've missed anything big!

Well I've just ordered a belly support band, some maternity trousers and maternity jeans this shit's getting real! I'm hoping the band will help me to keep active a bit longer, starting to feel the stretch. I'm not ready to give up my riding boots yet!

Hi all, great to keep hearing all your news. We had our 20 week scan yesterday and thankfully all looks well. The sonographer was training (though I think must be nearly qualified as she seemed very competent and the person supervising seemed very laid back) and was very thorough when checking all the various structures etc to the point I actually feel a bit achy and bruised this morning!

We are still team yellow despite our best efforts! Yesterday the sonographer said she would say 70% boy but based on one quick glimpse right at the start of the scan. This morning I went for a 'Just Gender scan' at a place near work and despite the best efforts of the sonographer and lots of jumping around from me the baby was very reluctant to uncross its legs. Today's sonographer says she thinks girl as she could't see anything to suggest a boy but couldn't see 3 clear lines to be sure of a girl either. Arghh almost wish we hadn't even tried to find out now! :)

Just had my midwife appointment and she assured me that there's nothing to worry about with an anterior placenta.... No prolonged back to back labour etc...that there's no reason for the birth to be any different, so hope that puts some minds at rest. Heard the heartbeat again, pretty much in my groin as she's so low down!

Weather turned on me so popped into m&s as needed a cardigan anyway and came out with a fan black poncho thing that will expand around a growing bump feel poncho type cardigans will be my friend in autumn love it it's so comfy x

Island, that's reassuring thanks. I guess there is nothing can be done about it so not much point in worrying!
