Thanks Carolann, yes, better get it checked out. Hopefully it's just a nerve thing x

butterfliesandzebras · 19/07/2016 08:17

Thanks fx for maintaining the list :)

Welcome to the new ladies, exciting times!

I'm off to the GPS this morning (no going straight to midwife here), feels way too early as I'm only five weeks. I wasn't going to book it so soon, but DH panicked me yesterday with stories of waiting three weeks for appointments, so I phoned up and they got me one next day.

I know I should be glad my doctor is so available, but I have this silly fear that they will think I'm crazy to come in so early, and that five weeks isn't really pregnant. I think it's partly because I have no symptoms and don't 'feel pregnant '.

Morning everyone! Has anyone got some silly/funny things they regret doing right before they got their BFP?

Mine are:
-Buying that really nice bottle of prosecco
-buying about 7 different crop tops that now won't see the light of day til 2018 if ever

charlybs I have a bottle of prosecco in my fridge as well. Also I have all the makings of mojitos which I bought the day before I found out as well 😢

Hi all, am anxious today as had a bit of blood this morning. I know it's fairly common but I'm so worried it's going g to go wrong again. Can't do much as have to be at work - went home early yesterday because DD was ill at nursery. Its not much blood but I'm feeling like It's not going to happen Sad

How are we all coping with the heat? Makes me feel more nauseous

ItsMagicYouKnow · 19/07/2016 09:51

Hi Elsa, is it brown or red bleeding? Is there much? Any possible explanation such as DTD last night? Best get it checked out when you can. Do you think your EPU would see you?

Butterflies don't worry about it being early, pregnant is pregnant and once you've got your booking-in app., that'll be one fewer thing to worry about. I went to my GP at 4+2 Grin

Charly Mine are 3 glasses of wine/bubbly over two days before BFP and not taking folic acid until gone 4 weeks Blush

The heat definitely isn't helping. Two years ago I was about to go into labour and it was distinctly more fun than being in the 1st trimester! Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate ladies!

ElsaMars · 19/07/2016 10:19

It reddy brown and not a lot. Didn't get it with the ectopic but fearing the worst even if it's just breakthrough bleeding - I got it with DD. Local Early pregnancy clinic only runs for a few hours in am but if no better, I'll call gp. Thank you Flowers

And dtd? In this heat!? Grin

ItsMagicYouKnow · 19/07/2016 10:35

Yes, silly me! Grin

neonrainbow · 19/07/2016 10:48

Dtd is ok if you put a fan on first and drink plenty of water 😂

CinnamonTwist · 19/07/2016 11:03

Elsa I have been bleeding since my scan yesterday. It was an internal scan and I think it has upset my cervix, hence the bleeding, as apparently they can be quite soft, and therefore sensitive, during early pregnancy. The midwife said that as everything was OK yesterday in the scan not to worry unless I bleed for more than 2 weeks. So I am trying to ignore it. I am so glad I went for the scan though to know everything was ok at that point, so I would definitely recommend getting checked out.
I thought one of the benefits of being pregnant was not bleeding/ having periods. I dare not use tampons for fear of making it worse, if it is my cervix, so I'm also stuck wearing a pad in this hot weather (sorry if that's tmi!) and it sucks Sad

ElsaMars · 19/07/2016 11:07

Thanks cinnamon

charlybs · 19/07/2016 11:07

I had to explain to DH that dtd wouldn't poke the baby. Someone didn't pay attention in biology obviously... Shock

Carolann8584 · 19/07/2016 11:10

Well just got back from the docs. Everything is fine, advised heat patch and paracetamol!! For pain. Heat pack in this weather!!

SuperDuperJezebel · 19/07/2016 11:10

Cloey I'm in Greece on holiday and they sell a soft drink called Mojito, I bought it cos I really fancied a mojito and thought it would be a good alcohol free alternative. It just tasted like minty water! We are going home today and I am SO excited to have some nice coffees, nowhere here does decaf and I really fancy an iced latte!

Happygojo86 · 19/07/2016 11:15

Cinnamon definitely do not use tampons!

Cloeycat · 19/07/2016 11:19

Jezebel- I lived in Greece for the last 3 years not sure I could cope with a Greek summer feeling like this but I am missing Greek food so bad, I've been eating so much Tzatiki! Hope you had a fabulous holiday 😄

butterfliesandzebras · 19/07/2016 11:28

Gp all over, was very quick and pointless. She checked I wanted to keep it, told me to take folic acid or pregnacare and eat healthy 'lots of fruit etc', asked lmp and when I tested, then calculated how pregnant I was and due date using a little cardboard wheel (she said 22nd, but I'm sticking with 20th based on when I ovulated).

And I have my midwife appointment booked for 1st August. Scary/exciting.

CinnamonTwist · 19/07/2016 11:35

Happy I had a feeling they were a bad idea, any reason in particular?

Happygojo86 · 19/07/2016 11:58

Increased risk of infection, plus they 'draw' blood out. Also, like others say, your cervix can be sensitive in pregnancy so you don't want to go poking it with a tampon (dtd is fine obviously). Tampons aren't actually sterile and mess with the natural cleaning system so it's just not worth the risk when your preg. They also don't recommend you using them until you are at least 6 weeks post partum and your cervix is definitely closed

butterfliesandzebras · 19/07/2016 12:04

cinnamon I know you weren't asking me but I'm sure I read in a list of things to avoid while pregnant that theres a risk of infection with using tampons in pregnancy. (It's probably a very minor risk but better safe than sorry).

butterfliesandzebras · 19/07/2016 12:06

Oops, cross posted with happy, who gave a better answer!

CinnamonTwist · 19/07/2016 13:16

Thanks happy and butterflies, I hadn't actually considered infection but it's a very good point. I'm just so used to having a nice strong immune system. Which I am definitely missing already- got a nasty cold developing currently!

purplesmiler · 19/07/2016 13:40

I seem to want to eat everything today lol. Trying to pack as we go on holiday tomorrow but I keep breaking off and getting easily distracted. Ready for a break but it will be weird to watch everyone else drink cocktails while my tipple will be lemonade. It will be nice to relax though and take everything in.

Cantstringawordtogether · 19/07/2016 13:58

Carolann glad to hear all is good with you :)

I'm sitting in a cubicle in the emergency room being checked for a clot in my lung Shock could be here hours before I know whether I have one or not, kinda freaked.
