Thanks Zenzie I will check it out. Yes it's been a bit of a nightmare to be honest, an emotional rollercoaster! So are you pregnant after IVF now then? (sorry not been able to read through the whole thread yet), if so, huge congratulations I know how happy you must feel Flowers.

Zenzie · 12/07/2016 11:31

Hey Cho, yes I'm 5+4 after my first round of IVF and still pretty gobsmacked that it has worked (so far). Trying to stay positive and reminding myself that my body has managed to do this once before (I have a three-year-old). I'll have a scan in just under 2 weeks to check progress, which will be nerve-wracking.

Will you be offered something similar? Can you get in touch with your fertility specialist to check what to do now? You must be in such shock!

gininteacupsandleavesonthelawn · 12/07/2016 12:47

Sorry TMI but... Is anyone else very constipated? (Typed from office poor where I've been for way too long)

That's fantastic news, congratulations. Yea definitely stay positive, its the only way to get through it all. Glad your scan isn't too far away, its all the waiting that gets you isn't it!

I'm going to call my EPU at my local hospital as I know they'll offer me an early scan too given my history (I had my surgery there too). Not sure whether to contact my fertility clinic or not at this point, I think I'll wait til I have my early scan and go from there. I have an appointment for 3 weeks time at the recurrent miscarriage clinic to get checked out before I going ahead with having my frozen embryo from my IVF implanted, but hopefully won't need that appt now! I'm only 4&4 today so I'll give them a call when I (hopefully) hit 5 weeks and they should scan me at 6-7 weeks. Not sure whether to call gp practice yet either to book in with the midwife, I'm so shocked my heads not quite caught up yet!

SuperDuperJezebel · 12/07/2016 12:53

I was last week but definitely not this week! Joined the NCT yesterday/booked into an NCT course for January. Don't really know many people in my local area, especially not with children, so I'm hoping it'll help me meet some more people in the same boat. Neither me or DH have parents who live locally (mine are on the other side of the world!) so it feels a bit nervy doing it on our own.

Carolann8584 · 12/07/2016 13:34

Hello Ladies

Carol here (32) little bean number 1 has set up camp

Had my BFP yesterday, well 3 on Sunday and 3 yesterday, and 1 today lol.

Not had any symptoms at all, booked in with midwife but that's ages away Sad

Just though I would join the club Wink as we aren't telling family or friends yet I had to tell someone!!!

Cloeycat · 12/07/2016 13:51

Does anyone know if it's ok to keep doing ballet? I forgot to ask my doctor and Google is bringing up mixed results.

CatalinaFuckingWineMixer · 12/07/2016 14:02

charlybs my first appointment isn't until the end of July when I'll be 9+5 so it just depends on your area and how they do things I think. Our area like to do booking in appointments between 8-10 weeks. Having said that its with the midwife as we don't need to see a GP here, so not sure if that changes things.

SuperDuperJezebel · 12/07/2016 14:15

Cloey I think it's OK to continue any exercise you were doing beforehand but not recommended to take up any new exercise/increase level of exercise, without speaking to your GP at least.

FXSkip · 12/07/2016 14:17

Thanks Magic my head hurts from constantly trying to work out what the hell is going on. I've had no bleeding so for now I am going to assume the best but be aware that the worst could still happen. Hello all you new BFPs as well!! Anyone else wishing they hadn't found out so early?! Trying to forget about it now, I'm going away this weekend for my birthday so just going to try and enjoy it!

alphabook · 12/07/2016 14:24

Congrats to the new BFPs!

FX I also had an early scan and was told it was smaller than expected. Ive heard similar stories with both positive and negative outcomes so I'm hoping for the best.

Extra sticky vibes for Cho!

Cloey I don't think there's anything wrong with ballet as long as you're not getting out of breath, and there's no chance of you falling over. I think high intensity contact sports are more of an issue.

I'm starting to feel a bit down/fed up. I'm feeling really unwell (nausea, vomiting, migraines, exhaustion) and it's getting me down that it could all be for nothing. It doesn't even necessarily seem to be a good sign that I'm having all these symptoms as I've read about people having strong pregnancy symptoms and going on to have MMCs. The wait until my next scan seems to be taking forever. I've never been pregnant before but I'm finding the first trimester quite tough so far.

alphabook · 12/07/2016 14:25

Well not got this far in a pregnancy I mean...I've had a CP before but it was so early symptoms hadn't really kicked in.

ItsMagicYouKnow · 12/07/2016 14:35

Congrats to all the newbies! Come on in and have a cup of decaf Wink

Cho got everything crossed for you!! Hope you manage to relax for the moment after being through the mill and back. Sounds like you have a lot of phone calls to make though, must be daunting!

Gin things have slowed up a bit here too, but I don't have the best transit normally so I'm not suffering with it. Worth seeing the dr if it's making you miserable.

Cloey Same advice as Super, I carried on with Zumba and yoga last time, told my yoga teacher though. May be worth asking your teacher for advice if you can? I switched to pregnancy yoga and dropped the Zumba for aquagym in the second tri. I'm going to try and do the same this time, because it definitely helps you to stay limber. I got to 41 weeks + without feeling too uncomfortable last time, may have just been lucky though!

NameChange30 · 12/07/2016 14:51

ItsMagic I do Zumba and yoga as well! Really don't want to give them up (at least not yet) so I'm glad you were able to carry on for a while. At which point do you think it's best to switch from regular yoga to pregnancy yoga?

NameChange30 · 12/07/2016 14:55

alpha Sorry you've been feeling unwell and fed up. If your symptoms are severe, maybe you could see your GP? And could you take some time off work or reduce your hours for a bit, until your symptoms subside?

alphabook · 12/07/2016 15:12

Thanks NameChange. I'm on holiday at the moment but I'm starting a new job on Monday, which I'm a bit worried about as well! (Accepted the job before I found out I was pregnant). Might see the GP when I get back to see if there's anything I can take as I really don't want to be ill at work.

AngelBlue12 · 12/07/2016 16:26

Are you ok princess? I think up thread you said you have 5 DC? Me too! I'm kinda hoping for a boy as we have 5 DD's but DH says he'd prefer another girl!

FXSkip · 12/07/2016 17:16

Namechange and Magic I am not planning to give up any of the classes/exercise I do, just modify. If you currently work with an experienced yoga teacher there is no reason to go to ante-natal yoga unless you want to meet other expecting mums, if you have a daily practice then it is recommended to take a 'restorative' practice for the 1st tri (no jump-backs, headstand or heels-into-womb postures) then adapt your normal practice to accommodate your growing bump. Pregnancy yoga is usually from 12 - 40+ weeks. I am planning (provided this bean is sticky) to continue cycling, spinning, weight training and swim training as normal for as long as possible, but we will see how that goes! I think its good to aim high, but be flexible and adapt when you need to!

PrincessIrene · 12/07/2016 17:26

Hi Angel I'm still reeling to be honest. We have 4DC so this will be number 5. We have 3DS and a DD. Would prefer another boy I think but not really bothered either way. Dreading the reaction more than anything else I think! I have never had a positive reaction from family in any of the pregnancies. Sad

Cantstringawordtogether · 12/07/2016 17:33

Wow I think I am officially going to give up trying to keep up with this thread, it moves so fast!!!! Congrats and welcome to all the latest bfps :)

**PrincessIrene hope you're ok, how many dc do you have already? I think a bfp is always a shock, planned or not. This is #6 for us and about as planned as the others! (We were not preventing and kind of dithering about whether or not we would go again!) and I keep having little panics about it all. Mind yourself and give it time to sink in xx

**Angelblue just saying hi as I see this is your #6 too Smile

Cantstringawordtogether · 12/07/2016 17:34

Oh just seeing you posted as I did PrincessIrene, I'm the same as you, a bit apprehensive about how other people will react to the news, everyone has an opinion don't they!

Happygojo86 · 12/07/2016 17:36

I did pregnancy yoga last time, and I really recommend it, but I wasn't a yoga regular before that. They did go through a lot of things specific to giving birth and positions etc and basically hypnobirthing. I honestly believe its the reason I managed to shave my legs in early labour! I wish I had exercised more last time, now I don't have the time with DD, although I am going to try and fit in a bit now she is a bit bigger. We don't have a very local gym so its difficult and OH isn't home til gone 7pm most evenings and at the min he is offshore so between DD and work, I generally flop onto the sofa for an hour each evening before going to bed!

PrincessIrene · 12/07/2016 17:37

Oh yes! Never mind that we pay our own way, kids are well behaved and mannered etc etc. It's everyone else's business! DC6 seems such a big number, I take it number 5s can't be all that bad if you've both gone for another lol!
