How many dpo did you all get your BFP and what test did you use? I'm wondering now if I ovulated before I thought I did as my clearblue test was really clear 13dpo (it was the first test I'd done)

Jjspoon · 07/07/2016 18:15

(It was also in the afternoon so I'd done a few wees before)

WelliesAndCake · 07/07/2016 18:30

Hi and welcome to all the new ladies, and thinking of the ladies who have had losses and bad news.

I've been keeping up with the thread but not posting as I've been so busy and tired. Realising now I can't manage a busy job, busy social life AND growing a baby all at once! I'm just soooo tired, like a tiredness I've not felt before! And now the nausea has kicked in (5+3 weeks). Oh well, reading through here I'm not alone! And my boobs are still super sore and growing - I've got silvery stretch marks already! Any tips? Bio oil?

I've got my booking in appointment with a very friendly sounding midwife on the 20th - I'll be 7+3 by then. She says it's mainly lots of form filling. Fingers crossed I can stay awake!

Ok, off to find something very bland to eat for tea. Hope you all have a nice evening, and aren't feeling too rough.

AlexiaB · 07/07/2016 18:49

So glad you have lots of RL support and a lovely DH alpha. Got my fx it was a late implanter.

According to FF I'm 18dpo but I could be only 14/15dpo. I'm nearly 8 days late compared to last month's cycle and I'm never this late. I guess I'll know more tomorrow!

MissClarke86 · 07/07/2016 19:12

I finally rang the midwifes today....the superstition in me is now thinking that I've jinxed it! (Had previous MC)

My friend announced the gender if her bump today, really pleased for her. It made me want to share my news too but I just know it's way too soon.

I'm finding that I'm not nauseous as such, but after work I feel generally quite poorly (made worse by having a bath) and have to lie down for half an hour and then I'm okay.

BridgetDoodle · 07/07/2016 19:16

Alexia I got faint positives on FRER and a 'not pregnant' on clear blue digital. I retested the next day and it came up pregnant. They're not as sensitive so could be your hormone levels aren't high enough yet. I know how you feel though, I was gutted when it was negative to begin with!

DaisyBank82 · 07/07/2016 19:19

Oh Alpha that's worrying news. Everything crossed that this implanted late. Two weeks feels a long time to wait. I hope it flies for you. If you couldn't drink your tea that sounds promising?

Alexia I've been thinking of you, how tricky for you to still be in limbo. I dug out this photo of my first positive this time around. As you can see its v faint! It looked darker the next day.

I've had the odd bit of nausea this week - not constant but certain smells (rubbish, cat food) make want to heave. I've also been gagging when I brush my teeth. I'm exhausted today as I had a work dinner last night which went on far too late and being sober wasn't even remotely fun. I didn't get home until gone midnight and was up at 6 with DD. I was so looking forward to a nap but we had a workman over so I couldn't. Hoping for an early night!

Both tea and coffee were off the menu last time. So far they are fine.
My tip for teeth, if you currently lean forward to brush, try standing straight with your head a bit up. This helped calm my gag reflex somewhat.

Booking in is booked for the end of the month. She asked me which hospitali wanted!!!

Two friends have guessed. I must be really podgy have a fabulous glow already.

Sorry to those with worrying times. Sending lots of positivity your way.

ItsMagicYouKnow · 07/07/2016 20:24

Evening all,

Gosh this thread moves quickly! Hello and congrats to all the newcomers!

alphabook Thinking of you. Had a similar scenario for my last pregnancy, it was a little later on though, and it turned out to be an inexperienced intern and a dodgy machine, and all was fine with baby. The waiting was horrible though Sad Really hope everything turns out well for you too.

Had an exciting day today, went to GP (whose first question was "Is it a wanted pregnancy?" Hmm), got a blood test (it's the done thing here), booked a gyno app. at 9 weeks-ish and the first scan at 12 weeks-ish.

Thanks for the Ovia tip, mine's still a waterbear/poppy seed. I did fruit last time, so loving the animals! Hopefully it'll make it easier to explain to DS (almost 2, not sure how/when to broach it with him, not before 12 weeks anyway).

Recognising a lot of symptoms from last time: the glamorous pregnancy snot, the bloated evening tummy, the super sense of smell... I feel like my body is changing a lot more quickly this time because it already knows what to do IYKWIM. Though I'm rapidly reaching the limits of my pregnancy bra that I've been wearing for the last 3 years because it's so comfy.

Anyway, hope you're all doing well, sympathy to those suffering from nausea already!

ItsMagicYouKnow · 07/07/2016 20:31

Alexia fx for you too. Those tests can be fickle things, and I hear some people never get strong lines, so hopefully it's the same for you.

Just thought I'd add that I used a hypnobirthing CD last time, but only from the 3rd trimester I think. I'd definitely recommend it though! Smile

neonrainbow · 07/07/2016 20:38

I got a reasonably strong positive at 10/11dpo with a first response. I used a clearblue digital as well to make sure and it came up straight away.

AlexiaB · 07/07/2016 20:54

Thank you Bridget and Magic that's reassuring.

Hi Daisy, that's reassuring too thank you. I hope it's just low hcg levels and I'll get a decent BFP tomorrow morning. Really hope you get an early night, you must be shattered!

Yes I remember that neon, on a Sunday/Father's day right? My ttc buddy also got the exact same results that day at 10dpo. You two are cycle buddies so that's why I remembered (honestly not a stalker haha!).

AlexiaB · 07/07/2016 20:55

Oops I meant due date buddies*

Zenzie · 07/07/2016 21:47

Having been through IVF I can bee very certain of my dates! Egg fertilised on 14dpo and little blastocyst was more than 100 cells and very sticky on 19dpo when it went back in. I've even seen baby's first photo, a microscope image of the blastocyst.

Who else is going bra shopping this weekend?

Dustycorners · 07/07/2016 21:53

For those thinking about hypnobirthing, I used the Maggie Howells hypnobirthing book and audio last time in the 3rd tri. It was very relaxing and the breathing helped me get through 3 bloody painful somewhat uncomfortable attempted stretch and sweeps. I did the breathing in early labour too, but I certainly didn't "breathe the baby out" in a radiant glow, or anything like that, thanks to complications and DS getting quite firmly stuck for a bit. I will do it again though as it is lovely and relaxing.

Still very few symptoms here. Massively bloated by evening. Lots of snot (also hayfever related). Waking at 3am and struggling to get back to sleep, then when I am asleep having horribly vivid dreams. Even more knackered than usual. Oh and appalling mood swings/hormonal tears! But that's about it so far. I'm 5 weeks today and have GP appt tomorrow. I find the first tri so bloody sloooooow and full of doubt. In a way I wish it wasn't possible to get a positive test so early, because it gives you so long to fret!

Rosey135 · 07/07/2016 21:53

My boobs are getting sorer by the day and much plumper, I didn't wear a bra much till this week but now just walking is painful, and my nipples are so sensitive. My partner is enjoying them filling out but unfortunately I won't let him touch them.

I felt sick in work today but that might be a natural response to the plumber unblocking the drains!

PourMeSomethingStronger · 07/07/2016 22:00

Hi everyone, is there room for another sore-boobed lady amongst you? Got my bfp today! Was going to wait a couple of days and do another test before telling DH, but he asked me to help him lug some paving slabs around the garden tonight so I had to come clean.

If all goes well, this will be DC3 for us. DS1 is 5 and DS2 is 2. I suffered a miscarriage in January and it's taken us a while to feel ready to try again, so keeping the fingers well and truly crossed.

I've not read the whole thread yet, but will try to catch up. Also thinking a namechange may be in order...

cyclinggirl22 · 07/07/2016 22:04

Hi Ladies can I join please, I'm 5 weeks tomorrow and I think due the 10th. Made my appointment with the GP today for 2 weeks time which is exciting.

Sorry to read about the ladies having a tough time and hoping everything works out ok for you

neonrainbow · 08/07/2016 08:45

Hello new bfps!

Alexia thats right fathers day it was 😂 i thought for a minute you were stalking me!

I had a lovely dream last night that i had a newborn. I didnt do much except cuddle though... i think even my subconscious knows i know nothing about looking after babies!

Gardencentregroupie · 08/07/2016 09:12

It's been a week since I got my bfp and I haven't got so much as a hint of symptoms. I'm sure that by this stage with DD I was feeling sick and had a super sense of smell. Really don't 'feel' pregnant.

Booking in with the GP next Thursday. Feels like an age away.

MonkeyPoozzled76 · 08/07/2016 12:07

Neon I had a dream that I was having triplets last night, woke up slightly hyperventilating!

Garden, I'm about the same stage as you and so far I've been feeling nothing much, I think there are a few of us like this on this thread. I should add that I was feeling ok until I found a dead bat Shock (hopefully cat related!) in the house yesterday. Usually I'd deal with a mouse or what ever fine but it made me feel so sick I had to ask my lovely neighbour to remove it. Felt sick till I went to bed!

Minibeef · 08/07/2016 13:26

Hi everyone!
I got my BFP this morning. Used a due date calculator and it said 17th March 2017.
Really excited and scared like everyone else! I've told my sister and mum, but I don't think I'll be ready to tell anyone else for a while.

I had a few symptoms before I tested but every time I felt anything I was like "it could be something else" and now it really doesn't feel real. It's definitely going to take a while to sink in! Anyway good luck everyone. It's nice we can all talk about it here!

AngelBlue12 · 08/07/2016 13:34

I just got a BFP on a clearblue digital!! Due date is coming up as 17th March too Minibeef!

I'm really hoping I've got a sticky one!

fluffynonny · 08/07/2016 14:00

Hello! I got my BFP on Tuesday, and an early scan yesterday confirmed I'm 6+0 today, due date 3rd March. You could just about see the heart beat even though all you could see was a tiny little bean! I'm still in shock - DS is only 9 months old, and I was expecting to have problems conceiving again because of PCOS...all seems a bit too soon (2 under 18 months, if this works out! This terrifies me..) but feel very lucky as well. Hope everyone is coping well and not feeling too sick!

OliveV · 08/07/2016 14:12

Hi Smile I missed my period yesterday; did a test today and got this...! Is it really happening!? We have been trying for 7 months and have an 8 year old son. I'm so happy Grin I'd most likely be due in March, right?
