Hi all,

I'm due at the very end of Feb/beginning of March. Had a mmc in April so feeling very tentative. Have a scan booked for the 19th to confirm everything is going to plan this time.

We've already got 2 daughters.

Nice to meet you!

BridgetDoodle · 06/07/2016 15:08

Same Cinnamon my rule has been if I would tell them about a miscarriage I've told them the news. So very exciting!

2ManySweets · 06/07/2016 17:03

Two things:

  1. Did another POAS today this time with the clearblue. Came back 2-3w. I conceived June 10th. Surely it should now say 3+? Stupid stupid question to ask but anyone else experienced this?
2ManySweets · 06/07/2016 17:04

(Posted too soon)

Also

  1. Cravings. Anyone started? I'm going bonkers for steak and kidney pie. Thank god kidneys are OK to eat in pregnancy. Pity I am craving liver too *cries*
alphabook · 06/07/2016 17:10

Congrats WhamBam!

2Many I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's not an exact science. If you were still on 1-2 weeks then I would worry but 2-3 is fine. Maybe test again next week and see if it's gone up?

I haven't been craving anything specific yet, just carbs and sugar! It must be your body craving iron!

gininteacupsandleavesonthelawn · 06/07/2016 17:14

I'm doing exactly the same as last time around food... I either have no idea what I want and can't decide what to eat or I want something very specific and only that will do- most frustrating for DP! Other than that I'm very much enjoying salt and vinegar crisps, one specific brand and ideally dipped in either vanilla ice cream or tomato soup, and black pudding. These are all things I like normally but definitely have a desire for at the moment, funnily while s&v crisps and ice cream were big things for me last time I'm sure I went off black pudding. Also really struggling with my sense of smell.

2ManySweets · 06/07/2016 17:24

Thanks alpha that's honestly made me feel better already! Booking in appt tomorrow so I'll mention it to MW.

Gin I had the horn for milkshakes with DD. Milkshakes with a chaser of S&V crisps. It's the sweet/savoury thing, more common than you'd think!

I am such a baby with cravings. They come on with such ferocity that nothing else will do unless I get the specific thing I want.

Poor DP. Going through it all again, 13mo on Grin

WhamBamThankYouStan · 06/07/2016 17:45

Sense of smell haywire here. Keeping wondering why things smell so strong and then realising it's just me!

I'm craving cheese, specifically cheese and onion on toast. And buttery things. Toast, buttered peas, buttered new potatoes...you get the idea.

alphabook · 06/07/2016 17:55

2Many - c&p from the ClearBlue website:

The Weeks Estimator result is determined by the level of hCG in your urine. The level of hCG varies from woman to woman and therefore the Weeks Estimator may give misleading results. All results should be confirmed by your doctor, especially when making decisions about future medical care. Only your doctor can determine whether your pregnancy is healthy.
Your doctor determines how many weeks pregnant you are based on the first day of your last menstrual period and ultrasound results. This test provides a different estimate. Please note that the doctor may date your pregnancy differently from the information shown in this table, since pregnancy dating is dependent on the circumstances of the patient.
Agreement of Weeks Estimator results with clinical findings ranged widely from 45-99%.

On a separate note, I am loving salt and vinegar chipsticks at the moment!

alphabook · 06/07/2016 17:57

My sense of smell is also really heightened at the moment. Makes DH's stinky farts much harder to tolerate, especially combined with the nausea!!

Imavinoops · 06/07/2016 19:06

Hellooo
Just been to the doctor, got my paperwork and various blood pressures etc done!
My little cramps have settled down now, still have sore boobs and I have the strong sense of smell too Wham
What I change DSS's nappies it makes me gag! I'm usually pretty good with nappies having been a nursery assistant for a number of years and used to change over 50 nappies a day! But now... being pregnant has stolen my superhero skill! ;)

Jjspoon · 06/07/2016 19:58

2many did you do it with first wee? I did one last week that only said 1-2 weeks but I didn't do it til the afternoon and read after that it says you have do us fmu for accurate weeks result. Too expensive to buy another so I haven't bothered lol.

I still have no symptoms whatsoever.

2ManySweets · 06/07/2016 20:01

It was basically the second wee of the day; I'm sure it's ok but it just slightly took me aback. I suppose it's because my first pregnancy was so textbook I'm rigid with fear something goes Pete Tong this time x

Dozygirl · 06/07/2016 20:41

Ic cheapie tests have always worked well for me. Completely blanknwhen not pregnant and hints of a line when I am. They get a stronger line every few days. I bought 2 digis this time so I'm saving my other one till next week so it'll be 2 weeks between testing.

Also feeling remotely unpregnant. Get occasional ligament pains if I stand up too quickly. Had those with dd too from early on. Don't feel nauseous at all but do have a strong sense of smell.

I'm trying this time not to just choose being pregnant as an excuse to eat everything in sight. I still haven't lost my baby weight but I'd just joined slimming world so I'm carrying on with it with the intent of losing weight initially and then hoping to maintain. I hate being this size but I've spent my maternity leave scoffing cake.

Collected my form for the midwife but haven't handed it back in yet. Feel so much more relaxed about it all second time around. But also have that worry in the back of your head that something is going to go wrong.

Jjspoon · 06/07/2016 20:46

I am starving all the time but that's it. I've always been a greedy pig anyway lol but now I'm not bothering restricting myself so I'll be massive if I carry on like this for long!. I feel a bit sick on the evenings but I don't know if it's just because I'm eating such a big dinner that I'm so full when i go to bed haha.

Jjspoon · 06/07/2016 20:48

It's funny how everyone has such different procedures for getting set up with the midwives isn't it. I haven't filled anything in yet. My dr just gave me the number of local midwives over the phone and i just called myself and booked in for first appointment next week.

Happygojo86 · 06/07/2016 21:10

I haven't called anyone yet. I should be on higher level folic acid because I am a fatty bum bum but I don't want to book my booking in yet. I want to lose weight before I see the MW so that I don't have to do the GTT lucazade challenge. I'm only 6lbs away so it's nothing a bit of food aversion and morning sickness won't sort. I am also following slimming world and planning to continue

Dozygirl · 06/07/2016 21:37

I remember with dd being desperate for all the appointments to start so could apart feeling pregnant. We don't get seen till around 11 weeks it says on my form but I know last time I pushed for it to be sooner because I also wanted my scan date on time. My midwife is crap though so I'm not looking forward to seeing her again.

Jjspoon · 06/07/2016 22:51

I'm not looking forward to the first appointment next week seeing as it's a group session I think it'll just be general advice such as take folic acid, try and keep active blah blah blah and nothing I don't already know. I've done so much research on everything, read a book and everything online and got an app so I don't think they'll tell me anything new. I started researching months before we started ttc as I'm such a planner I need to know everything before starting lol. I asked if it was optional and she said no Hmm

Jjspoon · 06/07/2016 22:53

It's also literally round the corner from where I live so I'm really hoping I don't see anyone I know! Unless they're actually in the group session which I guess could be a nice surprise if we can both keep it secret.

Beckyloulou100 · 07/07/2016 03:24

Hello everyone. Can I join? Got my positive test last night - NHS website says I should be due 15th March.

Lovely to meet you all and hear about cravings. This week I have been starving and craving sweeties like crazy!

Anyone having problems sleeping? Xxx

Zenzie · 07/07/2016 03:35

Plenty of sleeping problems around here Becky - congrats on your BFP. I finally had a good night's sleep last night after lots of early waking - I attribute it to being on my feet the whole day.

Just booked in to see my doctor. What fun!

Imavinoops · 07/07/2016 05:51

Becky Yay! Congratulations!!
The only problems sleeping I'm having is DP coming to bed later than me now I'm in bed SO early! Plus, as soon as we found out I was pregnant I swear he learnt how to start snoring really loudly! Hmm

Calling the midwife today! Huzzah, next appointment around 8-10 weeks! It feels like so far away!

neonrainbow · 07/07/2016 06:22

I was so exhausted yesterday i went home sick from work and slept for 3 hours. It was amazing. I guess this is what feeling pregnant is like. I think id like to go back to feeling normal!

Beckyloulou100 · 07/07/2016 07:25

Zenzie - glad you had a good nights rest! Good luck with the doctors appointment! I bet it will feel very real then.

Imav- snoring is just the worst Angry. I hope DP stops for you, hehe. Good luck with midwife when you get round to having your appointment.

Neon- sounds like you're exhausted! It's great that you managed to leave work to catch up
