Hello, another newbie here, Ive just spent the last hour lying in bed reading the whole thread through! I am so excited and equally petrified.
I tested yesterday afternoon not really thinking I could be as I've had all the signs that AF was on her way and I got a faint line, tested again later another faint line, tested with FMU today and more lines, still faint but there!!
This will be number one for me and my partner, Im 26 and have no idea what Im getting myself into.
He's been away and coming back today and he's just told me his parents are coming over, do I tell him in the half an hour before his parents come or leave it till after they have gone?? I want to share this with him so bad!!

gininteacupsandleavesonthelawn · 03/07/2016 12:26

Tell him Rosey! I wouldn't be able to hold it in- congratulations!

Rosey135 · 03/07/2016 12:31

I doubt I will be able to hold it in! Thanks Gin, that encouragement has helped me make up my mind (didnt take much)

Also I forgot, in my haste and excitement in my first post, to congratulate everyone! Im looking forward to having this journey with you! I know these first few months can be a tough time and are not always full of joy or certainty but Im staying positive and glad to be virtually surrounded by you guys so we can help and support each other

Dozygirl · 03/07/2016 12:39

Congrats rosie

I retested today just because I'm feeling very unpregnant. Line getting stronger and coming up quicker so feeling reassured.

Also rereading old threads I was on with my dd to see what I was like then. I'd written about being really grumpy like pmt type rage and I'm a bit like that this time haha no sickness yet but that didn't start till a few weeks later for me either.

Nottalotta you were on those threads with me too from the early days. Thought I'd seen your name somewhere before.

CinnamonTwist · 03/07/2016 13:23

Congrats rosie DH and I are both 26 too, feeling nervous and unsure but also excited! My in laws are over today and it's so hard not telling them yet as I know they'll be so excited! We are going to have to tell immediate family at 7/8 weeks as my sister is getting married and I won't be able to drink, they will all notice otherwise! Mutual really good friend has also been talking lots about having shots at the wedding, so I'll have to tell her or she'll guess! I'm a little torn about this due to risk vs excitement, but 7/8 weeks is OK surely? Risk started to decrease maybe?

SpanielLedWeaning · 03/07/2016 14:09

I don't see that harm in telling a few close people. Its an exciting time so it natural to want to share with people. And god forbid if anything does go wrong or you have a scare it means that you have more people to support you in real life.

I have 3 weddings and a family holiday before I get to 12 weeks so I am sure someone will end up getting told at some point!

Happygojo86 · 03/07/2016 15:26

My rule of thumb is.... If you would tell them about a mc, then tell them about the pregnancy. I am waiting a couple of weeks before telling anyone like my parents or in laws because I want to be out of CP territory.

SpanielLedWeaning · 03/07/2016 15:31

That sounds like a good rule

alphabook · 03/07/2016 15:35

Congrats Rosey!

I agree that if you would tell someone about a mc, then tell them about the pregnancy. I wouldn't want everyone to know until after 12 weeks, as I wouldn't have to then tell everyone if it didn't work out.

NameChange30 · 03/07/2016 15:49

Cinnamon I am planning to tell close family at 7/8 weeks, it just so happens we're seeing them that weekend so the timing is handy, but it's late enough for me - and as long as I can hold out!

2ManySweets · 03/07/2016 19:04

God, I'm an emotional wreck; just had lunch with a chum who's TTC and couldnt let on the news, now coming back home with A Flock of Seagulls on my headphones and fighting back tears on the train.

Oh crikey. Emotions, eh?

Jjspoon · 03/07/2016 20:05

Did you tell him rosey? I personally wouldn't have until after just because mine went in to shock a bit and was acting really weird lol. I blurted it out as we were about to go in to a meeting with the bank and he was acting so odd when we were in there, I felt really bad lol. Took him about an hour for it to sink in and be normal again.

I'm planning on telling my best friend, and both our mum's about 6/7 weeks and then a few others and work after 1st scan I think.

Not planning on making a big announcement though, just as and when it comes up as we see people.

MissClarke86 · 03/07/2016 20:06

Having a bit of a panicky day ladies. Last cycle my tests got no darker and I had a chemical pregnancy.

These are my FRERs from 12dpo and 14dpo and I expected the second to be darker than this so I'm a bit worried the same will happen again.

Only time will tell I guess.

AlwaysNeverOnTime · 03/07/2016 20:16

Hi everyone and congratulations! I got my bfp today and I'm in shock. I took a test a few days ago but it was negative so I was convinced I wasn't pregnant. I've been feeling so so sick the last few days so took a test yesterday, which was positive, but only showed up a few minutes after the time frame. I took two more tests today and they came up positive straight away. Period was due today and I've been having cramps and aches all day.

I'm quite worried about how sick I already feel as I'm only 4 weeks. I've had HG in a previous pregnancy which was horrendous.

Edd 10th March.

AlwaysNeverOnTime · 03/07/2016 20:18

Missclarke the bottom test is definitely darker than the top one. I know it will be hard not to worry but I honestly think you don't need to by looking at those pictures.

Jjspoon · 03/07/2016 20:22

Missclark try not worry... so much can affect the results like how much you've drank etc. A line is a line after all and they're both clear :)

It is rubbish having to wait so long until the first scan though. I'm already driving myself crazy worrying because I have no symptoms at all and every one seems to be feeling sick, sore boobs etc. I have absolutely nothing! Knowing I've got another 4+ weeks til a scan yet is rubbish.

Just have to keep positive x

Jjspoon · 03/07/2016 20:24

Tmi alert but my sex drive has gone through the roof....! I wasn't expecting this! Anyone else or just me Blush

Dozygirl · 03/07/2016 20:27

clark a couple of days in between won't make much difference in darkness. Give it a few more days and they'll be darker. Don't think frer go very dark. I think I used 3 with my first and they all looked similar.

Dozygirl · 03/07/2016 20:31

Last time I couldn't help but blurt it out that I was pregnant to literally everyone I saw. I've been much more reserved this time and kept it to just close friends and family. It's quite nice having a little secret but at the same time I want to shout it from the rooftops especially when people are having discussions about second babies and I'm sat there like I've got one growing. Went to a hen do last night but used the excuse of driving because dd was poorly so that helpe .

NameChange30 · 03/07/2016 20:35

Jjspoon I was going to ask about that! But I have the opposite I'm afraid, not interested in sex now I've got what I wanted from DH Confused He is gutted because he was enjoying all the TTC sex and looking forward to a shagtastic holiday! I'm feeling a bit too knackered but maybe more sleep will help me get in the mood.

MissClarke86 · 03/07/2016 20:42

Thanks for the reassurance ladies.

We DTD tonight and it was nice without the pressure of TTC, but I bled a little afterwards. I used to before so I'm hoping it's nothing sinister.

Rosey135 · 03/07/2016 21:24

Jjspoon I did tell him and he took it really well, he said it would take him a while to process but he's really excited, I wasn't sure how he would take it but I'm glad I did say as it was making me act weird untill I blurted it out. Also totally upped my sex drive, before ttc I was mostly uninterested once we started I got way more horny but only during my fertile time, I was worried I would lose it again once I conceived but so far so good. But not feeling sick or exhausted yet.

alphabook · 03/07/2016 21:36

Congrats Always!

I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry MissClarke, I don't think tests get that much darker after only a couple of days. I've only been testing once a week as I think it would stress me out more to test daily!

SuperDuperJezebel · 03/07/2016 22:08

Well I'm pleased to say I've had no more bleeding so far after last nights spotting so maybe I was worrying for nothing. Still frustrated by my DHs almost silence on the whole thing, he's good when I mention it directly but I wish he was a little more enthusiastic! Hello and congrats to all the new people too!

MissClarke86 · 03/07/2016 22:21

SuperDuper my fiancé is the same! He's "okay" about it all but isn't showing enthusiasm. I'm by jealous of women who's partners are just as excited as they are!
