Thread #7 - TTC#1 Grads - Third Trimester Special

PotatosMum · 01/06/2016 12:38

It's time for another TTC#1 grads thread, with an ever increasing population of new arrivals, old hands and veterans we're moving thick and fast.

The first TTC#1 veterans are waddling their way into the third trimester this thread, with the promise of maternity leave to come, getting them through the day.

No subject is taboo, no TMI is too much, bump pictures, baby scans and photos of cute baby stuff are encouraged.

All are welcome so take your place on team blue, pink or vanilla for another TTC#1 grads thread!

I think jenlareine is Planeteer Bunch

LisaTheSimpson · 19/06/2016 19:45

I'm ruthwg Grin

Also, if anyone a) loves cats, and b) finds themselves getting more emotional than usual recently, Channel 5 currently has on The Secret Life of Kittens.

It is quite possibly the most adorable thing ever. And it's making me feel both broody and protective.... Hmm

BunchOfBobs · 19/06/2016 19:50

Thank you Lisa!!

Miley* did the cold drink work? I too had a blip with movement earlier- just having an anxious day it would seem. I think I gave Pip
Too hot a bath as he refused to wake up for ages. Back to normal now though.

Evergreen17 · 19/06/2016 19:52

Hi ladies just catching up on your messages. Like a window to what the future (hopefully) has on hold for me and my bean Smile

Do these curtains need to make the room pitch dark? I made curtains for the spare room last year (total of £20 spent quite proud) and they made the room dark but not pitch black Smile

Sodasoda · 19/06/2016 20:09

dr why / miley - our windows are 3 metres high! We have ridiculously high ceilings which are lovely - until you have to buy blinds / curtains for them. And because they're so big they let in a lot of light and we wanted to have curtains as well as black out roller blinds. We've had a number of different quotes but everything needs to be made to order because of the size. The blinds aren't that expensive, it's the curtains. We went with John Lewis in the end but we've had a few different quotes and they all made me have a little cry!

DrWhy · 19/06/2016 20:21

Soda Yep, 3m high windows and curtains as well as blinds I can completely see where the quote came from now! Hope they look lovely in the end.
I've spent most of the day unpacking yet more bloody boxes and they still aren't done. I should at least finish filing stuff but I'm so tired and Bunch your mention of a bath has me very tempted. I should at the very least do some constructive stuff online as my next 4 evenings I'm out but instead I'm mnetting, fretting about boxes and watching NCIS!

PotatosMum · 19/06/2016 20:28

Indi 30 weeks here and no sign of belly button popping.

Shelb I looked at the maternity pads and they looked like the things my mum used in the 80s so I promptly bought super heavy flow, extra large night normal pads instead. I'm hoping I don't regret my choice.

Soda I don't mind having a c but I'm terrified of tearing. Apparently OHs mum tore badly and they had to stitch her up but accidentally stitched through a pile!!! Shock it was a couple of days before a Dr worked out that's why she was in so much pain Envy

Baby had a party when we went in the bath, so I'm a happy momma Grin I'm going to have a glass of iced water now bunch so will let you know how I get on. Also, thanks for the IG list! Massive help!

lisa that's mighty confusing! I knew you weren't a lisa but I definitely wouldn't have guessed!

soda what the hell! I can't imagine 3m high windows, I'm not even sure our ceilings are that high! Bet they're pretty spectacular.

Sorry for everyone else suffering heart burn, it really is a bitch! Hmm my dad has donated his entire supply of bottled gaviscon and the chewable tablets (he gets horrible heartburn, pretty sure he has 2 gaviscon with every pint of lager he has!) so I'm hoping they'll do the trick. I'm very dark haired and had a fair bit as a baby and OH is practically a monkey and has hair everywhere other than his back, so it'll be fair game if anyone claims it's because we're having a hairy baby!

Mileymoocow · 19/06/2016 20:59

potato I'm in bed already, I'm lucky if I make it past 8pm downstairs. Our sofa isn't supportive enough and is too squishy I find it difficult to get comfortable on and I can't stretch out enough on the single seat, so often bed is the only comfortable option!

LisaTheSimpson · 19/06/2016 21:04

Sorry Miley! Grin It's simply an appreciation for Lisa Simpson (from The Simpsons) and nothing to do with my real name whatsoever.

I'm thinking about going to bed. I want to stay up and see the rest of the football, but major yawning going on here....

Canters15 · 19/06/2016 21:20

Think dh and I have decided on the icandy peach. Anyone who has been to the mothercare event know how much they were going for/how much they had off?

Also....i have a bump!! At 18+1....about bloody time!

BunchOfBobs · 19/06/2016 21:44

Not sure if any of the other T3 ladies have been suffering this but after a week or so of it I looked it up and it is indeed a symptom. Achy fingers and elbows, particularly at night, and specifically knuckles!! All normal apparently. Lovely Wink

DrWhy · 19/06/2016 22:18

DH just called (he's offshore at the moment) and was greeted with a total meltdown caused by Father's Day and the fact that after working on it solidly all day the house looks no better than when I started. Feeling guilty as I haven't seen him for over a week and being cried at probably wasn't what he needed.
He did helpfully point out that I'm massively overtired and should go to bed so I've just sorted out the last wash load and I'm leaving the boxes for now and going to bed. It has also occurred to me that I haven't eaten either a proper lunch or any dinner which may not be helping! It's weird, until 2 days ago I was permanently hungry now I've totally lost interest in food.
Canters apparently it's a 10% discount and you get a voucher for a single transaction so you don't have to spend there and then. I'm not sure they sell the buggy I want (the city jogger running buggy) but we want a maxi-cosi pebble car seat and base plus possibly a baby monitor, some clothes, blankets etc so I'm going to make a list then check out whether I can find it online at better than the 10% off mothercare price. This attitude is why I have bought naff all so far!

BunchOfBobs · 20/06/2016 07:01

Oh Dr the meltdowns are horrible aren't they. Hope you feel better after a nights sleep.

Weird dream alert. Dreamt of the births, baby needed help out so out came the salad tongs Hmm and yet again I gave birth to a girl. Who then started giggling....... So bizarre.

BunchOfBobs · 20/06/2016 07:01

Birth not births

PotatosMum · 20/06/2016 09:42

Morning ladies, how are you today?

canters congrats on the bump popping! Smile

Bunch I haven't noticed a get fingers but all my joints are a bit stiff. It's caused by water retention isn't it?

So, I've been in work for an hour and already I desperately want to slap the hippy. It may just be pregnancy hormones but she's really getting on my nerves. I have also been treated to a lecture about how Glastonbury isn't how it was and the whole thing is horrible... I actually quite enjoyed it when I went Hmm and how once the baby is born my life will be so hard and there's no way I'll be able to sit in the sun in the garden this year... Really?! How blinking awful were your babies that you couldn't settle them for a nap a read a book for an hour???!... Also, apparently my baby will scream constantly and she didn't like it when I pointed out that once you'd tried feeding, changing, burping and made sure the baby isn't ill there really is nothing you can do but put some ear plugs in and wait for it to stop. Sometimes babies like to cry, I fail to see how freaking out about it will stop them crying any quicker Hmm

Morning! Back to work after a week off today and my office is beyond ridiculous hot! 26 degrees and making me feel horrendous Angry I'm all swollen and sticky and feeling awful sick. I also have a bad case of the farts so have to keep nipping to the loo every 10 mins.

potato please punch the hippy. I don't have to cope with her and even I hate her!

shelbTa · 20/06/2016 10:20

Morning ladies

Sounds like you are mostly all as fed up as I am today!!

30 weeks today, proper pregnant.

Have any T3ers had the whooping cough vaccination??

X

Mileymoocow · 20/06/2016 10:27

My feet are also swollen Hmm

Yay for 30 weeks shelb!! Grin

BunchOfBobs · 20/06/2016 11:08

Yay for 30 weeks Shelb. Had the whooping cough vaccine at 28 weeks. No issues just a sore arm as per usual afterwards.

Potato please punch the hippy or tell her to fuck off. I'm not sure what it's related to but I get it awful in the night. Also my snoring is getting ridiculous, it's on the in and out breath now. I'm waking myself up with it, that an drooling. No wonder DH won't come
Near me!!

Miley they got and a fan you can steal or air con? Fan could come in handy for the farts too Wink

I'm feeling sick today and just a bit meh. Had a bad night with aches and yesterday had to be one of my most uncomfortable ever. Pip was/is really low and loves to use all of his niggly angles to prod me. I'm sure it's elbows, I'm full on waddling and then have to stop if he gets particularly wormy. Then he'll push off from my ribs. I swear he likes me uncomfortable.

I hope no one else gets the back pain I have but I promise you if you do birthing balls are the way to go. It's the only way I can sit comfy now.

Mileymoocow · 20/06/2016 11:46

Haha bunch the way my tummy is rumbling I'm sure there will be no fan strong enough! I blame the gaviscon Wink I do have a desk fan, I'll have to search for it at lunch time. All windows are wide open and it's doing nothing at all! I'm almost certain I'll suffer a bad back, I damaged it in a car accident when I was 19 and have taken a few nasty tumbles whilst riding horses in the past so I'm pretty much achy all the time anyway! I will take your advice and buy a birthing ball now.

Maaaan pregnancy is sexy! I haven't started snoring and drooling yet but I can imagine OH will start barricading himself on his side of the bed with pillows soon.

LisaTheSimpson · 20/06/2016 11:47

Congrats on reaching 30 weeks, Shelb! What a milestone! Grin

Sorry you're feeling so rubbish at the moment, Bunch. I know nothing about the third trimester, but I hope this isn't the new normal for you Sad

Potato - this person sounds very weird. Is this the same one who was very 'earth mother' and found her children so easy? Why on earth is she trying to make you feel so bad about it all? Crazy....

LisaTheSimpson · 20/06/2016 11:48

I hadn't even thought about a birthing ball...

Any recommendations for where to get one from? Are they all quite standard, or is it worth an investment?

PotatosMum · 20/06/2016 11:58

Miley your office sounds horrible. You must be melting!!!!

Shelb congrats on 30 weeks! Only 10 left!! Shock
Yep, I've had my whooping cough vaccine.

Bunch sorry you're in so much discomfort Sad not long now.

Lisa yes, this is the earth mother with the perfect children. I have no idea why she is trying to convince me that Potato will be an awful baby. I suppose it may be because she's decided that Potato will be stressy because I've been stressed about the house... She's really doing my head in now. She keeps starting conversations but she has no interest in anyone else's opinion because she's right, all the time! I don't think I'm the only one she's irritating today.

Sat in the loo and there are two bloody people talking on the phone... Argh! Pet hate!
