peanut it sounds like normal growing/stretching pains to me.

barkingtreefrog · 17/06/2016 07:28

bumble I wouldn't have acted on anything but we had the tests (and the harmony tests) because of my high levels of anxiety following three miscarriages, I was hoping that a low risk for Edwards and Patau would reassure me that we weren't likely to lose the baby due to either condition, so it would rule out another possible worry! For me it's more about having as much information as possible to prepare myself.

Still struggling with really bad headaches here. Had a really bad one all day yesterday and woke up this morning still in pain. Have called in sick as I literally fell asleep at my desk yesterday and was a complete waste of space for the whole afternoon.

Essybird · 17/06/2016 07:58

barking same here. Really struggling with the headache right now but calling in sick is not really an option...
Have you taken any medication? I'm so paranoid about taking anything at all.. And I don't even really know what I could take and how much of it.. Sad

Happy Friday everyone

I have never been so low risk as many of you. I was very happy with a 1in 1200ish result for t21 and t18. Last time we were 1 in 414 for T18 and DD had it. Most T18 and t13 are still picked up at the 20 week scan and a high proportion are not diagnosed until after birth.

Sorry I haven't been posting much. Have been quite depressed and anxious and have got perinatal mental health team involved. As a lot of my anxiety relates to the hospital, I'm not sure how it will go. We had another private scan at 14 weeks and all looks fine. I'm busy ticking of all the anomalies he doesn't have!

We have a 16 week anomaly booked as well as a 20 week one. Hospital don't seem keen for a consultant led scan at 20 weeks and as at our previous sonographer 20 week scan they couldn't find the heart, missing completely it was on the right and rotated, we really do want one so I guess we'll pay if we have to.

We did get some nice pictures at 14 weeks and he opens up his hands so not likely to be t18. However I have an anterior placenta so movements will be late. Glad everything seems to be going well for most of us. Lots of nice pictures here. I'm reading, it's encouraging to see people planning for birth and beyond. I really can't think that far yet.

SolomanDaisy · 17/06/2016 09:08

Hiding, I hope the mental health team helps, as much as anything can when you've had such a bad previous experience. Do you think planning a home birth might be an option for you, to limit contact with the hospital?

MrsJoJo · 17/06/2016 09:10

Osteopath this morning & 16 week appointment this afternoon... Got the beginnings of backache so trying to stop it getting too bad before I'm the size of a beached whale lol.

BristolLFR · 17/06/2016 09:29

You too becci! It's my day off today so I intend to stay in bed for most of it!

Then off up to Manchester to celebrate with my side of the family, first chance I've had to see them since the scan and we made the announcement Smile

firawla · 17/06/2016 10:13

How long did it take you all to get your results back? My scan was a couple of weeks ago but still not had them through the post!

BristolLFR · 17/06/2016 10:19

firawla they told me to call if I'd not had them in a fortnight. Best give them a ring. They said I'd get a call in 3 days if it was high risk, and letter in a week or so if not. I had my scan on thurs and letter came on tues

SolomanDaisy · 17/06/2016 10:19

Firawla, I think that's a good sign as if you're high risk they phone you within a week. Or at least that's what they did in my area when I has DS a few years ago. I got a letter through the post within about two weeks and my colleague whose results were one in two got a phone call three days after the test (baby was fine in the end, she had an amnio).

barkingtreefrog · 17/06/2016 10:29

eassybird calling in sick was my only option this morning as my head was pounding hard and I felt dizzy just sitting up in bed, driving was just not going to be possible.
Just had a telephone appointment with the gp and going in to be seen this afternoon. Paracetamol doesn't seem to do anything so I've stopped trying. Someone suggested they might be tension headaches due to anxiety over the pregnancy, or that at least might be making them worse. That's possible I suppose given I had 7 scans between 5 and 13 weeks and now nothing until 20w. I'm debating booking a private one.

lilydaisyrose · 17/06/2016 11:13

Lovely to see you H1ding - I had missed you. Wonderful results, you must be very relieved. Sorry to hear you are feeling so anxious but absolutely understandable. Have you managed to tell people yet or are you still keeping the news to yourselves? Even though it's my decision not to break the news yet and I still feel that's the right thing to do, I think it'll take a lot of pressure off when I'm not carrying around this massive secret.

I am ploughing through my to do list and seem to have got some energy back. On my list were 8 very urgent things to do with my business/work/things that can't be put off any longer. I completed 2 x yesterday evening and am on track to complete another 4 x today alongside the usual washing/dishes/school runs/meals/food shopping etc. Am so pleased I appear to have managed to pull myself out of the slump. I may be back there soon, but just now am cooking with gas! Thanks so much to everyone for your help this week as I really was feeling rubbish.

Grapefruit8 · 17/06/2016 11:53

Another one checking in with results- just had my letter and im low risk for all. 1 in 18,000 for downs and less than 1 in 50,000 for t13 and t18. Just so relieved! Every day it seems a bit more real, bought a little something for baby yesterday and was surprised with a gift from lovely colleagues! Starting to really enjoy it now and haven't been sick since Saturday Smile

Grapefruit8 · 17/06/2016 11:54

Ooo and I wanted to ask- how many of you have announced your pregnancy on social media? We haven't; we are undecided at the min.

Mejse · 17/06/2016 11:55

lily well done on making so much progress on your list! I hope you continue to feel better and get more energy back.

hiding it's good to hear from you. I went and read your blog and have been thinking of you. I am sorry you are having such a hard time at the moment. I am glad all of your scans and tests have given good results so far. I can completely understand how it is hard for you to look too far ahead.

I passed my exam today and I'm on the long commute home! I had this delusion of being able to go home and celebrate but it looks more like I will be going home to sleep. Now that is all over the anxiety of my scan on Monday is starting to creep in. I might have my test results pretty soon after as I had my blood test for it last week

weechops · 17/06/2016 12:21

grapefruit I've just announced it Grin not long back from 12 week scan and I'm now 12+6 due Christmas Eve Smile

Babydreaming · 17/06/2016 12:41

Sorry to hear about those suffering with anxiety/headaches. I'm 15w3d now and starting to feel really good! I think I have more energy than pre pregnancy! It's a bit unnerving to feel that way though. I also have a non-existent bump and am not feeling movements. The only reassurance I have is a strong hb on Doppler otherwise I wouldn't believe I was still pregnant. Anyone else in that situation?

I've got a really busy week ahead though. Working 2-midnight all this weekend then straight onto night shifts next week :( so my energy levels probably will be drained by the end of that!

Helgathehairy · 17/06/2016 13:31

I'm 13 weeks today and the last week my energy levels have been through the floor. I thought that was going to improve but I'm soooo tired most of the day.

I've cut down to one coffee a day but I really want more - I've gone off the taste but feel like I need the caffeine!

Bigfam · 17/06/2016 13:46

Hi all, I've had a rough couple of days with my tooth, I had it filled today but because I declined an x-ray and the decay was quite extensive there's only a 50/50 chance it will work, if not my dentist said I'll most likely develop an abscess in the next few weeks (which will require antibiotics) then either root canal treatment or removal Sad

I bought a fetal Doppler, managed to find baby's heartbeat after only 10 minutes of trying and even heard movements Smile

SouthDownsSunshine · 17/06/2016 14:12

hiding great to hear from you, you've been in my thoughts. Sorry to hear you've been struggling with depression/anxiety, I hope you get prompt and effective help.

fir they call you in 2 days if the results are higher risk. So it's good if you've not heard yet. I had my scan 16 days ago and not had the results by post, but I have a 2 day phonecall as I'm high risk.

bigfam that sounds tough. Pregnancy kills our teeth - literally.

Feeling the effects of being back at work with increased stress. Not sure how to handle it! It's not even that stressful at the moment (but my boss is about as useful as a chocolate teapot). I'm going for a swim tonight which might help.

TinySalmon · 17/06/2016 14:14

helga I'm 13+3 today and feeling so low on energy too. I thought I would be over this by now! I'm really angry at my body. All I feel like doing all day is lying down, sleeping, and eating. My mood is so foul too - I have such a short temper at the moment.

I'm at the hairdresser and my treatment usually takes 3 hours. I really CBF with it all but have to do it before I go on holiday tomorrow. I don't want to talk to anyone and I will mostly likely close my eyes throughout the whole thing. I feel bad but it seems everything is pissing me off and whatever I do I can't change my mood.

bigfam your tooth ordeal sounds awful!! I had a terrible time a couple of years ago with a recurring infection in my wisdom teeth, the pain was so bad it would travel up to my ear and give me an earache too. Antibiotics didn't work and ended up having dental surgery to remove part of my gums

Helgathehairy · 17/06/2016 14:19

tiny kinda glad it's not just me with the energy. Even when I'm not pregnant I hate small talk with the hairdresser. Now they just give me a pile of magazines and get on with it.

HannahJH · 17/06/2016 14:27

I had absolutely no energy until this week (14 onwards) and I am now starting to feel loads better :) hopefully it should be the same for everyone over the next few weeks? Xx
